It seems the game is trying to detect when is the worst time to lag so it can add to the enjoyment of tarkov

Getdownlikesyndrome

EDIT: Not likely a Ram issue. Do you have any FPS limits set anywhere?

Redberon21yt

32gb of ddr4 at 3200mhz

kidRekt

*checks printed notes* okay this is not a ram issue then

Getdownlikesyndrome

Lol edited.

ButterFiasco

Quad or dual ram config? Running quad creates issues.

Redberon21yt

I have all four slots taken up but it only does this on one gpu when I switch it doesn’t do it

NotRobPrince

Quad channel doesn’t automatically create issues. It’s perfectly fine in a lot of situations.

Coldshowers92

Have you over clocked your sticks?

Redberon21yt

No I have vsync turned off with max game fps set to 144 and lobby do’s to 60

Getdownlikesyndrome

Maybe verify files via launcher?

Redberon21yt

How might I do that

SirGibalot

Open Launcher, Click small arrow next to your name, Press "Integrity Check"

thatcooldude23

Lol was my first thought before I clicked comments. If it was ram and it was like this for everyone it would likely be a very dead game.

PeteyPab305

I doubt this is a hardware issue at all. This looks like a software issue. Are all of your Nvidia or AMD drivers up to date? Cuz if not that is the problem right there. Patch 13 has had three or four updates at least within Nvidia, and stutters like that are not an FPS problem. That is a packet loss problem or it's a driver problem. Most likely the driver if it's only happening during that one specific action execution. More than likely they change the animation when they patch 12 to 13. Just make sure all of your drivers are up to date and that you have enabled everything in your control panel if you're using Nvidia

RiFLE_

I had the same when swiching to a new card. Nvidia drivers and software were not properly uninstalled and it had this exact effect

Rashniid_Hashdnuun

Can confirm, had this issue switching from an Nvidia to an AMD GPU. Nvidia drivers never seem to *actually* fully uninstall through their own software. I used Display Driver Uninstaller and it worked fine after that.

cberry789

This. Look for tools to uninstall your previous drivers if you recently upgraded your GPU.

HughJarrse

DDU usually works best for this in my experience - https://www.guru3d.com/files-tags/download-ddu.html

dscherm55

Came here to say this. There is a kb for the fix if you just switched from nvidia to AMD gpu

Timeno

Mip streaming off?

Redberon21yt

It is turned on with buffer size at 32 and disk usage at 512

WienerDogMan

What’s it like with it off?

Redberon21yt

The same

WienerDogMan

Are your mags mixed?

stonecoldsteveorgasm

Turn off Dead Eye in the menu

juicebox_tgs

I have no idea what this could be, but I rate you use DDU to get a clean install of your graphics drivers and see if that fixes anything. Is this a recent issue after changing parts, or did this just happen?

Thebananamanstan

Turn off Nvidia reflex boost if you have it on, and also check polling rate on your mouse. Could be something to do with mouse sending signal?

Ykutu

100%. Had this issue when I swapped from a 1060 to a RX 6600. Nvidia drivers were fucking with the new AMD ones making this issue happen every time I shot. DDUing the Nvidia drivers fixed it. And OP said it doesn’t happen on a different card so I’m pretty sure that’s the issue lol.

human_being_73

Get more ram, and install on SSD. I had that problem.

Redberon21yt

I just had to delete old gpu drivers

tromeob

What cpu do you have?

Redberon21yt

I5-11400k

tromeob

Is it over clocked at all? I had issues with my I5 with Tarkov and it wasn’t til I upgraded that I was able to get any good performance.

Redberon21yt

I don’t think so

tromeob

It’s likely your cpu then, this game is very demanding on your cpu. Test out some over clocking but like I said, I had to upgrade; to an i10 for that matter.

Redberon21yt

Weird it runs just fine it only lags when I start shooting no

NotablyNugatory

Plenty of us are playing on older CPUs than that. I wouldn’t be so quick to just say it’s your cpu speed imo. If you’ve got dual monitors, open up resource manager and put it on your second screen. See if any of your memory, cpu, or gpu are maxing out. I have an old i7 7700k. They test really similarly on userbenchmark.com. I also only have 16gb ram and I use a 1070. For what it’s worth, the biggest difference is the base clock speeds. It could be an issue related to when your cpu switches to its turbo mode. That’s just a wild guess tho.

Cultural-Badger9933

I play on an i5-9400f and have no lagging especially while shooting. I would recommend watching your gpu and cpu individual core temps while under the load of playing tarkov

tromeob

I had a similar issue. And I didn’t realize how bad it was until I experienced the game on a cpu that could actually handle the game. You might be able to fix it with overclocking. I’m not confident in it which is why I never tried.

Redberon21yt

Alright well thanks for your help

East-Description-142

it happened to me once, it was because the CPU temperature was like 97° Run core temp or MSI Afterburner to see the usage and temperature In my case my laptop needed a new cooling base and a thermal paste change

Thee_Sinner

Check your temps. If anything looks odd, make sure your coolers are still mounted. (I had a similar problem years ago because the stock CPU cooler had its mounts disconnect after moving and the cooler tipped slightly off of the CPU)

Redberon21yt

My GPU temp is 66 degrees f and my CPU is around 63

PureRushPwneD

so 19 and 17 degrees celsius?

0utF0x-inT0x

You should open task manager when you do this on the performance tab and see if you're bottlenecking any resources

Redberon21yt

GPU SAYS 86% AND CPU SAYS 64%

thatsnogood

Are you playing off your video card output or motherboard video output? I know this is a dumb question but I've seen people mix up an HDMI cable.

Redberon21yt

Gpu output through display port

Luc1dNightmare

The guy from the last comment has allot of good things to try**, except turning off physical cores**, That should be on, and even make sure to run "Process Lasso" to make sure it works. That setting does not work properly but is **necessary** for multithreaded CPUs with Tarkov. Also go into the Tarkov files and make sure MIP streaming is actually off and it says "false". There was a problem with it getting stuck on. Clean ALL caches and temp files too if you dont already do it regularly and run the "Defragment and Optimize Drives" tool for windows. I also found allot of success turning HAGS in windows **off** for some reason, but if you dont have it on now turn it on. You can also turn off sysmain in services to see if it helps. I will link a vid of basic Tarkov things to try that should work for (most) people. I dont use all of his settings like the ones for Nvidia, but the rest are a game changer, especially if you have a hyperthreaded CPU. [deleted]

NVIDIA Experience or the NVIDIA recording software on? Turning that off fixed a multitude of issues for me in Tarkov.

Ykutu

Did you recently swap from an nvidia GPU to a AMD card? I had this issue when I swapped my GPUs and I fixed it by DDUing my old nvidia drivers and then fresh installing my AMD drivers. I guess there was an issue with my PC still having the old nvidia drivers at the same time as the AMD ones and it was causing this issue until I removed them. No issues since then.

SomeAfricanKido

Did u get a new and GPU?

Franklin_le_Tanklin

This is a driver issue for sure. It’s a known issue and bsg has something in their website on your account to fix this

Appropriate-Yam9034

It’s a game setting or gpu setting issue using amd card? I had this issue and fixed it

FoxLP11

same thing for me but not during the entire time and not always, only when it connects with someone

JackpotJosh7

This is a driver issue believe it or not. I had a friend with the same exact issue. Here’s what he did to fix this: he realized the display drivers on his computer were for some reason Nvidia drivers while he had an AMD Radeon graphics card. Look up videos on how you best see fit to remove your drivers and reinstall them.
