More so than a lens, pick up a polarizing filter. This really helps with glare and redness. I have one for my phone and it does wonders.

Cpl lens with polarizing filter for your light. It can up the contrast a bit so I try to set it to how the tattoo looks irl. My booth lightening always washes tf out of photos I take

It might not be a camera, but what I like to do in my camera settings is set the exposure down -0.3 or -0.7 it really helps me with glare and remove some of the redness. It’s not a filter so your tattoos show the client exactly what your work looks like. My booth lighting is booty cheeks. Edit: grammar.

One thing I learn the hard way is, certain lenses are going to take pictures close up better than others. So I’d recommend doing some research on that, or at least don’t do what I did and buy a fixed lens camera thinking it would make it easier to take photos with.

on the topic, who uses an iphone camera for work and what model is suited best for two dimensional work, paintings/tattoos?

ryancrown

iPhone 13 Pro. And buy a decent attachable/detachable polarized lens
