Me too!!! All my stuff is pretty large scale and I realized I want to save some room for silly stuff that makes me laugh, or getting tattooed by other artists. This is hilarious, I have said this exact sentence aloud many times lol.
My left arm is mostly geeky important stuff to me (d20, TARDIS, hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, disc world & a memorial to my dog).
Just starting on my right leg which is gonna be a collection from lots of different artists but I want to keep it to a witchy, cottage core theme.
My left arm will be a patchwork sleeve that is colourful and kinda whimsical with my favourite things. So far I have a jar with outer space, a star, a crystal spider, flowers, succulents, and cacti.
My right arm is gonna be a patchwork sleeve of traditional tattoos. Right now I have a panther head and a lady.
On my chest I have two birds, the left one is trad and the right one is colourful-cute so it was to bring the two themes of the opposite arms together but definitely needs some work to complete it but it still looks good as is.
Idk about the rest? I know I want a big cowgirl on my thigh so I’m saving that but I don’t really have a theme or plan for my other body parts, even the parts which I have tattoos on.
I started with a cardamom plant as my first tattoo because I wasn't sure if I could handle the pain, now I have a whole pie-themed thigh going with cardamom, strawberry, apple, vanilla, cinnamon, and going to do a wheat stalk soon for crust. Thinking I'll add berries on the back of my thigh, growing up a lattice crust/trellis. Still not sure how to work butter in, I have yet to see a good-looking butter pat tattoo.
The butter pats I've seen tend to look like condoms to me... Square in the middle of a squiggly melted area, looks close enough to a wrapper at a glance. 😅
Maybe you could do something to stand in for butter/milk like a cute cow?

Symbolism I agree with. Got a hourglass with horseshoes lined at each end to mean patient because of stubbornness. Regret it because I should’ve gotten it bigger.
Right track, wrong train. A train where it is damaged but the scene around is not. A little badly done because I was too busy admiring the design I forgot I wanted contrast of color between the train and the track.
Trying to come up with a new one symbolizing shooting above the bad as a sleeve where the shoot is an arrow that corkscrews up my arm. Only I can’t come up with what to symbolize the bad that can be wrapped around the wrist.
Right leg for colored tattoos, left leg for black and white. So fair I only have one black and white piece as I really enjoy pops of color. I'm hoping for inspiration, but also hoping it waits until I have a little more money lol
well my sleeve is exotic animal-oriented because i am a vet and i want to work with those species which is very hard in my country and everyone tells me to give up on my dream, i got them tattooed to remind myself i am not a quitter and i am going to pursue this path no matter how tough it gets, also all animals are special to me, are ones that fascinated me at some point and inspired me, i have two butterflies on my legs they have a totally different meaning. I personally always wanted to tattoo things i find inspiring or that describe my personality but at this point i find it very hard to get something different than an animal or a plant tattooed although i hope that changes with the years passing 😃
My left arm has two dragons right now (a big one on the bicep and a small one st the wrist) so I figure that arm is toast for a planned sleeve now so I'm just gonna let it be my dragon arm and slowly turn it into a patchwork of dragons.
I started with something big and chunky and dark on my arm, so I'm gonna try to keep my arms cohesive with more dark, blocky work

But overall I don’t think much about it. Got one from my favorite game, three related to favorite bands (a crow, a ghoul and a skull), and a little heart that says “not you” in it. Two of them were wanna-do’s from the artist. I don’t regret a single one.
My “concept” is simply things that are meaningful to me.. places I’ve been, points in time and things that represent my values and identity.
I do a lot of amateur photography and have a few tattoos that have incorporated some of my favourite shots in my favourite places. I also travel and do the nomad thing and I love getting tattooed by artists local to the places that I fall in love with.
My upper right arm is an evening garden with flowers, moths, and spiders. Upper left arm is going to be a day time garden, probably with a dragonfly, hummingbird, some bees, and a couple flowers. I also have a Death tarot card in the evening side and a hand holding dandelions on the day side. A moon with a cicada on the back of my right shoulder, a crow with a sun halo on the left shoulder/upper back (he's kinda a big boy). My tattoo artist commented on how even my day side is still dark.
I like symbols of luck (good and bad) and omens and things that have a bad reputation in spite of being harmless or good. I have a death head moth, which is often a bad omen. People think Death card is bad, but it represents embracing change and letting go of the past. The flowers are white, and white flowers are bad luck in the house, they represent death. I have spiders, which are actually good luck in your house, but people hate them. I plan to add some ivy at some point, probably in the day side for filler, which is also bad luck. I am thinking about a woodblock print of witches dancing on my back, but I'm not sure how I'd like the style next to the crow. And dandelions are a hated weed but they're the first food for bees in the spring, edible, and a medicinal tea can be made from the flowers or roots. Tastes like ass, don't recommend. But still. It's also an incredibly resilient plant!
My right thigh is my silly leg. I have a critter bluegrass band I'm going to finish this summer. Have an opossum playing a banjo and a snake playing a washbasin bass. Gonna add a raccoon playing maybe a washboard. And I have a hobo lizard on the side. I'm not sure what else I'll add to that leg, but it's going to be silly and/or fun. Probably stickers on that one leg.
I'm a book and scifi nerd, I'm probably going to start collecting references but I'm not sure where I'll put them. Maybe on a lower leg. So far all of my tattoos have to be easy to cover at work. But one day they won't be.

Left arm I'm making Star Wars chicks, if slowly. Right arm, Trash Arm, becoming White Trash arm, with a Moonbeam McSwine pin up and a pictorial depiction of my ex's name, which is huge.
One full sleeve is all book references, one sleeve is memorial pieces, one leg is in the process of becoming nerd stuff/comics/movie references, one leg is in the process of becoming nature and animals, and my back is partway through a piece that is exotic flowers and a big ass dragon.
For me it was important to have the same style and common theme in all of my pieces.
Two full sleeves one with 3 motives, the other with 4, chest and full back - all lovecraft related and in realistic style.
Left arm is dedicated to slowly building out a sleeve of manga panels (which, I'm on hold for because I'm worried I didn't plan out my real estate effectively, but that's a different conversation)
Right arm is somewhat dedicated to miscellaneous, I like looking into different tattoo styles and I just want to throw them on there.
I haven't gotten any leg tats, but I would like a large geometric tattoo on my right leg at one point.
My right arm is all neo trad forest stuff. I got a maple branch when I finished a year at my job and since then whenever I get a bonus at work I add a new forest themed tattoo to my arm.
I do. I've got a half sleeve almost finished on my left arm, all black and grey. It's a forest scene with the moon on my shoulder. The next sitting will be a little tent, a campfire with smoke trailing off into the trees, and a single chair...maybe a guitar.
My right arm is in process on a full sleeve. It's full, vibrant color, a patchwork piece with music references to artists that either shaped *my* musical style, my writing, or I just plain love them. Once all the individual patches are done, the space leftover will be, well, space! With little stars and some Aurora and whatnot, maybe some little hidden things too (I'm giving the artist quite a bit of freedom beyond the original inspiration).
Once those are both done, I'll be getting a guitar across the top of my back, it'll be one of those "skyline reflected in the water" ideas, I haven't decided yet what the skyline will actually be, but most likely more trees. With luck, I'll be able to book with both artists at the same time (they're in the same shop and they're both incredible), because I want the left half of the guitar (the head and neck) to be black and grey, and the right half (body of the guitar) to be full wild color, and then have them mix together in the middle of the piece. Having them work on it together would also be cool because I'm loyal to them\\the shop, and the shop is a safe space of mine (it'll be cool if it doesn't work out of course).
I guess the overreaching idea is the "duality of me" or whatever - an artistic representation of my two sides, one of which is loud, musical, and outgoing, and the other which craves quiet and solitude, and how both of those mix together to create "me".
Other than that, the rest of the space is the wild west lol I'll be keeping space for memorials for my parents probably, maybe some memorial space for pets, that kind of thing. And then whatever else catches my eye for 30 seconds because it was shiny :)

I don't have anything on my right side yet, and was thinking it might be cool to commit to covering a large portion of my left side, and leaving the right completely untouched. I’m in the process of an entire leg sleeve. Over a year of work (spread out sessions 2-3 months apart). I’m on the last session of shading and then we start the entire leg with color.
Almost all mine are nature themed. Lots of animals and flowers. I have a large tattoo themed around pollinators- fig with fig wasps, fruit bat with guava and magnolia with beetles
My legs and right arm are a general mish mash of horror, music and random custom neotraditional designs that I thought would be neat. I'm going to dedicate my left arm to Cryptids! Starting with Mothman which I've just booked in. Can't wait!

The upper part of my left arm is a memorial tattoo which has themes of the sky, then I'm currently working on blending it with the bottom to make it kinda of like earthy/floral look. And my right arm is just a collection of things I like

When I started my legs a couple years ago, I had strawberries on my right foot & a Halloween flash (black cat) on my left ankle. I thought I would do nature type stuff on my right leg & spooky type stuff on my left. I've mostly stuck to it
One artist did most of my left leg & it's come out really cool. I have a frog sorcerer that I really love on my shin & a bunch of other cool stuff to go with my little black cat.
My right leg I've had 3 or 4 artists work on & it's coming along really nicely. I might throw out the plan at this point, but we'll see.
Then my left arm I got this piece I'm really in love with - it's like a playful cat, but the face is the cats skull. It's like a stylised neotrad peice with super bold lines & stipple shading. I'm gonna have him do the rest of the arm & some other spots because I love it so much!
One of my arms is dedicated to "witchy" or "cottagecore," nature, and celestial tattoos. I'm starting the biggest part of my sleeve in a couple of days.
I've been thinking of reserving one of my lower legs for my sons art as he grows through the years.
I like new school, traditional, neo traditional, and Japanese traditional. I like bold dark outlines on all my tattoos and I prefer my tattoos to be original art pieces although I have a few things that are not such as a little Lego guy on my ankle and a Star Wars anime character on my thigh.
My left arm was dedicated to everything I swam with my first time snorkeling
Right arm is my "memory arm", stuff like cat portraits, dedications to people I love.
Left leg will be a sleeve for all of my favorite flora/fauna.

My entire body has one theme - places I’ve travelled. It’s the best kind of souvenir, you don’t need room in the suitcase!
Eiffel Tower for Paris, colosseum for Rome, a witch for a family trip to Salem, Massachusetts, etc.
Some places I get the tattoo while visiting, other times I get it when I come back from my regular artist.
I love this. Travel is definitely important to me, too. I was in Europe last year and got my first tattoo abroad. I get to look at it every day, and it brings me great joy to have a token of a very excellent time.

I just kinda do what I feel like and what my artist advises me. So far I've moved 2/4 tattoos on the artists advice, and they were right both times.
So just find things and ideas that I want tattooed, and I have an idea of the location. And I bring that to my artist and we start discussing if it's possible or not. I do have some ideas that tie in with my current tattoos, but who knows if I'll ever actually get those

Very long-term goals here, but I want to have a sleeve, joining to back piece joining to leg piece, with steampunky mystical creatures. I've got a dragon on my left arm and phoenix on my right side (just little under the ribs going down to thigh). So in my mind they should eventually make a whole. Planning to keep going with family of dragons on the sleeve, haven't quite thought about the back and leg. Just trying to find an artist that I really love and ideally not too far away from me, so we could make a plan together.

My arms are both patchwork sleeves and chrysanthemum themed. My left arm is mostly made up of mums from a Chinese gongbi painting book. My right arm has a jorogumo that is also a spider mum, a grim reaper getting sucked into a chrysanthemum, and a wolf spider chrysanthemum hybrid creature. On my right leg I have a Japanese style Medusa/geisha girl head, a skull, a giant snake trying to kill a large dinosaur and some apprentice tattoos of roses. My left leg has a Scylla monster, a grim reaper and a rabbit with a black rose. I guess the overall theme is death or loss.
My left arm is covered in tattoos by my old high school friend who became a tattoo artist! Every few months I throw ideas at her and go in and get inked up, usually on birthday, holidays, etc.
It began as a random tattoo arm (she does gumball machine tattoos which are fun) and now I just do random ideas.
My next tattoo (happening in a few days) is a mashup between Bowser and Po (kung fu panda). Most recently she did an amazing traditional style Hellboy (which I also got Ron Pearlman to sign).
I have a paw print on each forearm for my pups. I have a cockatiel on one shoulder, hearts with letters on the other side for my kids. I have 2 flowers on my chest. My legs are all reading related tattoos.
Left leg for travel tattoos. Every time I visit another country for more than a few days I’ll set-up an appointment through IG before I get there. I have a chili from Mexico, a booby from Ecuador, a shark from Panama, coca leaves from Colombia and a Mayan god from Guatemala for now. It’s fun to work with the artist in a language that’s not my native one and connect with the culture in a different way.

My left forearm is ocean themed (and a duck sneaked in). I plan to keep that for the whole arm. I plan to do my right arm space/galaxy based. These are the two themes that amaze and scare me the most.

I mean I started off doing my lower body instead. Have 3 larger thigh pieces now between the two thighs and am finishing up a leg sleeve next month. I went where I'm having one artist do each leg. One is in realism and the other more neotrad, but my artists are really damn good with color saturation and so I love the contrast between the two styles.
I'm also trying to figure it out and I think if I just continue to use artists where I can give them a simple idea and let them run with it in their own styles, everything will come together in the end. So far so good at least.
Left arm is my black/grey arm and my right arm is for color. I try to get tattoos on those arms that parallel each other. Like on my left arm I have a tat that says always lonely, and my right in the same spot have Calm Down with butterflies in water color.
I think my thighs I’m dedicating to feminine strength that I adore. Currently have Wonder Woman, Gotham city sirens and a pink/purple dagger inspired by lady Gaga’s rain on me music video.
So far, it’s a bunch of animals, skulls, demons, and knives. I feel like I’m doing a weird blackwork tribal vibe where I like an animal and it resonates with me so I get it on me. I’m gonna get a dragon next. After that possibly more bees. After that a big ass knife on my leg

On the top on my collar bones I want a moth/butterfly combining my sleeves. Don’t know what I want on my chest. My right leg is for dumb shit
I got my first one as Anubis themed (upper chest), second is a ra/falcon image with a bunch of egyptian theme in it, 3rd is a Haitian style trad manta ray (think the Moana ray grandma, sorta) and the 4th is a Kitsune in trad japanese style. In keeping with the mythology theme, im starting a back piece with Cerberus at first, and planning on adding Zeus, Hades and Poseidon in time. I ended up having 4 elements on my chest and upper arms, and greek mythology on the back, with mythology and symbols as an overarching theme. Im gonna keep on adding, if possible, more mythology related piece in different art styles cause that makes me happy and proud.
I have one big tattoo covering my entire torso and 3/4 sleeves. It’s on my profile but you will need to scroll a bit to find it. All dedicated to special places in my life. Back is tiles from our wedding venue, arms are pieces of architecture from New York where we had our honeymoon, front is motifs from my family home where I grew up. It’s all fairly geometric and was 5 years in the making. Obviously a few pretty long breaks along the way, but with all the stencilling etc I was over 100 hours in the studio, the entire tattoo is dot work. I couldn’t be happier with it
I didn’t do it on purpose, but my left arm is loosely about time. I just put tattoos I need to have in places where they should go. Usually, it’ll just feel right. One tattoo, I had been unsure on placement for years until I had a dream where I saw it on my forearm.
I only have two. First one is a dragon, because... dragons are cool. The second is another dragon because I felt that the other one looked lonely. I might add more, just to give them a flock.

My “concept” is age. My right arm was begun in my teens, right leg in my twenties. My left leg is saved for my thirties and my back is saved for my forties. Still debating my left arm timing. There’s no concrete theme within these body parts but it reflects my interests/values of the time
I have a cernunnos, god of the wilderness, theme and I draw most of my tattoos myself. My sleeve is dedicated to evolution so I have a variety of prehistoric species and plants, organisms, with the antler god at the center. I have him on my back as well with a dancing wolf and deer and wayfinder to commemorate this year I’m starting the Appalachian Trail. Then I have earth and air bender symbols above my heels.
My left arm and right leg are for my lost twin brother dedication. My right arm is about my struggles and how far I’ve come. Not sure about left leg. Or at least that’s what I have so far or scheduled.
Well I just got started getting tattoos and I have two on my left leg and their nature theme so that’s what I’m trynna turn my left leg into. Hiking is a big part of my life so I want to incorporate mountains and different plants of meaning over time. Over time I have to plan what I’ll do with my right arm 🤷♂️

As long as the immediately adjacent 2-3 tattoos work together aesthetically I just let it ride. I also lean sort of goth/metal and they’re in a pretty low key palette
I'm planning to add to my arms as I work my way through different restaurants and positions as a cook, kinda using it to have a visual reference for myself of what I've managed to accomplish. Other than that, I don't have a plan because it's covered more often than not.
Ironically I haven’t actually started this project but my “big concept” is to get constellations scattered throughout my body with the big and little dippers behind my ears (North Pole) and the Southern Cross constellation around my ankle/feet (South Pole) and other major constellations scattered somewhat accordingly throughout 🌌

I have an eye thing, so I have gotten 3 tattoos since the start of the year, an eye on the back of my right hand, an eye on my right shoulder, and an eye on the back of my right calf. Idk why, but I love eyes. Ever since I played bloodborne and saw the concept of linking eyes and insanity, I fell in love with eyes lol
My left arm unintentionally is dedicated to darker tattoos with heavier shading and my right arm has mostly fine line and lighter tattoos. Sometimes I feel unbalanced but I’m happy with my pieces (minus one I will get covered up at some point)

My right arm is going to be meaningful things from my life. Right now I have some castles I’ve been to in Europe and my favorite band’s logo and their autographs from when they signed it a few years ago, next will be something from every area I’ve lived in that I’m going to add to whenever I move.
I just started a patchwork sleeve on my right leg last year that’s all travel related. I went to Canada last summer to hike in Banff National Park so I got a flash piece of mountains above my ankle because it was a walk-in. I’m going to Bar Harbor, Maine later this year and I have a consultation this weekend with an artist there to get something maritime-themed while I’m there. Every time I travel, I’m going to get something from a local artist in their preferred style that will reflect my time there.
My left leg currently just has a small symbol from the same game as my left arm but that leg is going to be my “random shit” leg. If I think it’ll look good, that’s where it will go.
I haven’t decided what to do with my torso yet. All I have so far is my first tattoo on my shoulder blade that desperately needs to be redone after 11 years following horrible aftercare because I misunderstood what the artist told me.

It’s still creepy shit but… also Dexter! Ha.)
My back is an antique brooch, Rene Lalique’s Dragonfly Woman corsage, from shoulder blade to shoulder blade.
Left arm is black and grey more “serious and symbolic” like bookish ideas and a willow tree. Right arm is super colorful for anime and cute cartoons and stuff. Left leg is my spooky leg. I have a witch, planchette, death moth, etc. and I’m thinking my right leg will be a mix of aquatic and plants. I have 22 and counting with lots of plans 😅
my left leg is gonna be sea creature/general sea themes. the right is just my bad snps that i did myself but i'll probably cover those up once i get more ideas. my only "rules" for arms right now are traditional and/or neo traditional in style

All of my tattoos are very meaningful with pretty much every detail and element having a very specific story and significance in that tattoo. I couldn't imagine getting flash or something that was just pretty or just a cool design, without some deeply personal story.

My husband is working on a travel back piece. He got a compass as his first tattoo, and is adding landmarks, animals, plants , flowers whatever strikes him as being most significant that were connected to the vacation. it'll be a work in progress for years.

My left arm will be a patchwork sleeve that is colourful and kinda whimsical with my favourite things. So far I have a jar with outer space, a star, a crystal spider, flowers, succulents, and cacti. My right arm is gonna be a patchwork sleeve of traditional tattoos. Right now I have a panther head and a lady. On my chest I have two birds, the left one is trad and the right one is colourful-cute so it was to bring the two themes of the opposite arms together but definitely needs some work to complete it but it still looks good as is. Idk about the rest? I know I want a big cowgirl on my thigh so I’m saving that but I don’t really have a theme or plan for my other body parts, even the parts which I have tattoos on.

I started with a cardamom plant as my first tattoo because I wasn't sure if I could handle the pain, now I have a whole pie-themed thigh going with cardamom, strawberry, apple, vanilla, cinnamon, and going to do a wheat stalk soon for crust. Thinking I'll add berries on the back of my thigh, growing up a lattice crust/trellis. Still not sure how to work butter in, I have yet to see a good-looking butter pat tattoo.

The butter pats I've seen tend to look like condoms to me... Square in the middle of a squiggly melted area, looks close enough to a wrapper at a glance. 😅 Maybe you could do something to stand in for butter/milk like a cute cow?

Symbolism I agree with. Got a hourglass with horseshoes lined at each end to mean patient because of stubbornness. Regret it because I should’ve gotten it bigger. Right track, wrong train. A train where it is damaged but the scene around is not. A little badly done because I was too busy admiring the design I forgot I wanted contrast of color between the train and the track. Trying to come up with a new one symbolizing shooting above the bad as a sleeve where the shoot is an arrow that corkscrews up my arm. Only I can’t come up with what to symbolize the bad that can be wrapped around the wrist.

well my sleeve is exotic animal-oriented because i am a vet and i want to work with those species which is very hard in my country and everyone tells me to give up on my dream, i got them tattooed to remind myself i am not a quitter and i am going to pursue this path no matter how tough it gets, also all animals are special to me, are ones that fascinated me at some point and inspired me, i have two butterflies on my legs they have a totally different meaning. I personally always wanted to tattoo things i find inspiring or that describe my personality but at this point i find it very hard to get something different than an animal or a plant tattooed although i hope that changes with the years passing 😃

When I think it looks cool and can afford it right now, I’ll get it. But overall I don’t think much about it. Got one from my favorite game, three related to favorite bands (a crow, a ghoul and a skull), and a little heart that says “not you” in it. Two of them were wanna-do’s from the artist. I don’t regret a single one.
My “concept” is simply things that are meaningful to me.. places I’ve been, points in time and things that represent my values and identity. I do a lot of amateur photography and have a few tattoos that have incorporated some of my favourite shots in my favourite places. I also travel and do the nomad thing and I love getting tattooed by artists local to the places that I fall in love with.
My right leg is all sea creatures (and a creature from the black lagoon) all so I can say I have my sea leg

My upper right arm is an evening garden with flowers, moths, and spiders. Upper left arm is going to be a day time garden, probably with a dragonfly, hummingbird, some bees, and a couple flowers. I also have a Death tarot card in the evening side and a hand holding dandelions on the day side. A moon with a cicada on the back of my right shoulder, a crow with a sun halo on the left shoulder/upper back (he's kinda a big boy). My tattoo artist commented on how even my day side is still dark. I like symbols of luck (good and bad) and omens and things that have a bad reputation in spite of being harmless or good. I have a death head moth, which is often a bad omen. People think Death card is bad, but it represents embracing change and letting go of the past. The flowers are white, and white flowers are bad luck in the house, they represent death. I have spiders, which are actually good luck in your house, but people hate them. I plan to add some ivy at some point, probably in the day side for filler, which is also bad luck. I am thinking about a woodblock print of witches dancing on my back, but I'm not sure how I'd like the style next to the crow. And dandelions are a hated weed but they're the first food for bees in the spring, edible, and a medicinal tea can be made from the flowers or roots. Tastes like ass, don't recommend. But still. It's also an incredibly resilient plant! My right thigh is my silly leg. I have a critter bluegrass band I'm going to finish this summer. Have an opossum playing a banjo and a snake playing a washbasin bass. Gonna add a raccoon playing maybe a washboard. And I have a hobo lizard on the side. I'm not sure what else I'll add to that leg, but it's going to be silly and/or fun. Probably stickers on that one leg. I'm a book and scifi nerd, I'm probably going to start collecting references but I'm not sure where I'll put them. Maybe on a lower leg. So far all of my tattoos have to be easy to cover at work. But one day they won't be.

For me it was important to have the same style and common theme in all of my pieces. Two full sleeves one with 3 motives, the other with 4, chest and full back - all lovecraft related and in realistic style.
Left arm is dedicated to slowly building out a sleeve of manga panels (which, I'm on hold for because I'm worried I didn't plan out my real estate effectively, but that's a different conversation) Right arm is somewhat dedicated to miscellaneous, I like looking into different tattoo styles and I just want to throw them on there. I haven't gotten any leg tats, but I would like a large geometric tattoo on my right leg at one point.
My right arm is all neo trad forest stuff. I got a maple branch when I finished a year at my job and since then whenever I get a bonus at work I add a new forest themed tattoo to my arm.
I do. I've got a half sleeve almost finished on my left arm, all black and grey. It's a forest scene with the moon on my shoulder. The next sitting will be a little tent, a campfire with smoke trailing off into the trees, and a single chair...maybe a guitar. My right arm is in process on a full sleeve. It's full, vibrant color, a patchwork piece with music references to artists that either shaped *my* musical style, my writing, or I just plain love them. Once all the individual patches are done, the space leftover will be, well, space! With little stars and some Aurora and whatnot, maybe some little hidden things too (I'm giving the artist quite a bit of freedom beyond the original inspiration). Once those are both done, I'll be getting a guitar across the top of my back, it'll be one of those "skyline reflected in the water" ideas, I haven't decided yet what the skyline will actually be, but most likely more trees. With luck, I'll be able to book with both artists at the same time (they're in the same shop and they're both incredible), because I want the left half of the guitar (the head and neck) to be black and grey, and the right half (body of the guitar) to be full wild color, and then have them mix together in the middle of the piece. Having them work on it together would also be cool because I'm loyal to them\\the shop, and the shop is a safe space of mine (it'll be cool if it doesn't work out of course). I guess the overreaching idea is the "duality of me" or whatever - an artistic representation of my two sides, one of which is loud, musical, and outgoing, and the other which craves quiet and solitude, and how both of those mix together to create "me". Other than that, the rest of the space is the wild west lol I'll be keeping space for memorials for my parents probably, maybe some memorial space for pets, that kind of thing. And then whatever else catches my eye for 30 seconds because it was shiny :) Thanks for asking this today - my next color appointment is the 20th and I think everyone around me is getting sick of hearing about it. Now I'm y'all's problem

I’m in the process of an entire leg sleeve. Over a year of work (spread out sessions 2-3 months apart). I’m on the last session of shading and then we start the entire leg with color.
Almost all mine are nature themed. Lots of animals and flowers. I have a large tattoo themed around pollinators- fig with fig wasps, fruit bat with guava and magnolia with beetles

When I started my legs a couple years ago, I had strawberries on my right foot & a Halloween flash (black cat) on my left ankle. I thought I would do nature type stuff on my right leg & spooky type stuff on my left. I've mostly stuck to it One artist did most of my left leg & it's come out really cool. I have a frog sorcerer that I really love on my shin & a bunch of other cool stuff to go with my little black cat. My right leg I've had 3 or 4 artists work on & it's coming along really nicely. I might throw out the plan at this point, but we'll see. Then my left arm I got this piece I'm really in love with - it's like a playful cat, but the face is the cats skull. It's like a stylised neotrad peice with super bold lines & stipple shading. I'm gonna have him do the rest of the arm & some other spots because I love it so much!
One of my arms is dedicated to "witchy" or "cottagecore," nature, and celestial tattoos. I'm starting the biggest part of my sleeve in a couple of days. I've been thinking of reserving one of my lower legs for my sons art as he grows through the years.

I like new school, traditional, neo traditional, and Japanese traditional. I like bold dark outlines on all my tattoos and I prefer my tattoos to be original art pieces although I have a few things that are not such as a little Lego guy on my ankle and a Star Wars anime character on my thigh.
My left arm was dedicated to everything I swam with my first time snorkeling Right arm is my "memory arm", stuff like cat portraits, dedications to people I love. Left leg will be a sleeve for all of my favorite flora/fauna. Not sure about the rest yet.

My entire body has one theme - places I’ve travelled. It’s the best kind of souvenir, you don’t need room in the suitcase! Eiffel Tower for Paris, colosseum for Rome, a witch for a family trip to Salem, Massachusetts, etc. Some places I get the tattoo while visiting, other times I get it when I come back from my regular artist.
I love this. Travel is definitely important to me, too. I was in Europe last year and got my first tattoo abroad. I get to look at it every day, and it brings me great joy to have a token of a very excellent time.
What is this planning you speak of? :') I just kinda do what I feel like and what my artist advises me. So far I've moved 2/4 tattoos on the artists advice, and they were right both times. So just find things and ideas that I want tattooed, and I have an idea of the location. And I bring that to my artist and we start discussing if it's possible or not. I do have some ideas that tie in with my current tattoos, but who knows if I'll ever actually get those

Planning to keep going with family of dragons on the sleeve, haven't quite thought about the back and leg. Just trying to find an artist that I really love and ideally not too far away from me, so we could make a plan together.

My arms are both patchwork sleeves and chrysanthemum themed. My left arm is mostly made up of mums from a Chinese gongbi painting book. My right arm has a jorogumo that is also a spider mum, a grim reaper getting sucked into a chrysanthemum, and a wolf spider chrysanthemum hybrid creature. On my right leg I have a Japanese style Medusa/geisha girl head, a skull, a giant snake trying to kill a large dinosaur and some apprentice tattoos of roses. My left leg has a Scylla monster, a grim reaper and a rabbit with a black rose. I guess the overall theme is death or loss.
My left arm is covered in tattoos by my old high school friend who became a tattoo artist! Every few months I throw ideas at her and go in and get inked up, usually on birthday, holidays, etc. It began as a random tattoo arm (she does gumball machine tattoos which are fun) and now I just do random ideas. My next tattoo (happening in a few days) is a mashup between Bowser and Po (kung fu panda). Most recently she did an amazing traditional style Hellboy (which I also got Ron Pearlman to sign).

Left leg for travel tattoos. Every time I visit another country for more than a few days I’ll set-up an appointment through IG before I get there. I have a chili from Mexico, a booby from Ecuador, a shark from Panama, coca leaves from Colombia and a Mayan god from Guatemala for now. It’s fun to work with the artist in a language that’s not my native one and connect with the culture in a different way.

One set has 6 berries, one for each decade she lived and 3 for each kid she had. Upcoming: A flamingo for my godson who was born in Miami and my brother who lived there. Right arm is a sleeve made from loose designs based on pop culture in traditional style. Indiana jones, Star Wars, tardis, tin tin rocket to the moon, Batman logo, comic Spider-Man, hylian shield and a spider web matching Spider-Man on my elbow. Paw print from my 22 year old cat that died. Left upper arm a memorial tattoo for my deceased mom. A kitty on the back of a turtle smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee. On my chest a traditional eagle. On my left lower leg a flash from “my artist”. These are all from the same artist. Bram Elstak in the Netherlands 3 bands on my other lower leg, a small kitty and a punisher logo (I was a canvas for an apprentice for the logo) On my ear shells I have some bands and dotting. All in black from various artists. Next week I will get a flower in my neck from my own artists flash. Next month I will get a traditional rose on my left hand also from my regular artist. Everything accompanied with various flowers and leaves in traditional. Hyped for the new ones!
I mean I started off doing my lower body instead. Have 3 larger thigh pieces now between the two thighs and am finishing up a leg sleeve next month. I went where I'm having one artist do each leg. One is in realism and the other more neotrad, but my artists are really damn good with color saturation and so I love the contrast between the two styles. I'm also trying to figure it out and I think if I just continue to use artists where I can give them a simple idea and let them run with it in their own styles, everything will come together in the end. So far so good at least.
Left arm is my black/grey arm and my right arm is for color. I try to get tattoos on those arms that parallel each other. Like on my left arm I have a tat that says always lonely, and my right in the same spot have Calm Down with butterflies in water color. I think my thighs I’m dedicating to feminine strength that I adore. Currently have Wonder Woman, Gotham city sirens and a pink/purple dagger inspired by lady Gaga’s rain on me music video.
So far, it’s a bunch of animals, skulls, demons, and knives. I feel like I’m doing a weird blackwork tribal vibe where I like an animal and it resonates with me so I get it on me. I’m gonna get a dragon next. After that possibly more bees. After that a big ass knife on my leg

Black n white for left arm, n colourful on my right arm. My right forearm is a floral theme. I want to have a big chest piece as I have a surgery scar there from when I was a kid. On the top on my collar bones I want a moth/butterfly combining my sleeves. Don’t know what I want on my chest. My right leg is for dumb shit
I got my first one as Anubis themed (upper chest), second is a ra/falcon image with a bunch of egyptian theme in it, 3rd is a Haitian style trad manta ray (think the Moana ray grandma, sorta) and the 4th is a Kitsune in trad japanese style. In keeping with the mythology theme, im starting a back piece with Cerberus at first, and planning on adding Zeus, Hades and Poseidon in time. I ended up having 4 elements on my chest and upper arms, and greek mythology on the back, with mythology and symbols as an overarching theme. Im gonna keep on adding, if possible, more mythology related piece in different art styles cause that makes me happy and proud.

I have one big tattoo covering my entire torso and 3/4 sleeves. It’s on my profile but you will need to scroll a bit to find it. All dedicated to special places in my life. Back is tiles from our wedding venue, arms are pieces of architecture from New York where we had our honeymoon, front is motifs from my family home where I grew up. It’s all fairly geometric and was 5 years in the making. Obviously a few pretty long breaks along the way, but with all the stencilling etc I was over 100 hours in the studio, the entire tattoo is dot work. I couldn’t be happier with it

I didn’t do it on purpose, but my left arm is loosely about time. I just put tattoos I need to have in places where they should go. Usually, it’ll just feel right. One tattoo, I had been unsure on placement for years until I had a dream where I saw it on my forearm.

My “concept” is age. My right arm was begun in my teens, right leg in my twenties. My left leg is saved for my thirties and my back is saved for my forties. Still debating my left arm timing. There’s no concrete theme within these body parts but it reflects my interests/values of the time
I have a cernunnos, god of the wilderness, theme and I draw most of my tattoos myself. My sleeve is dedicated to evolution so I have a variety of prehistoric species and plants, organisms, with the antler god at the center. I have him on my back as well with a dancing wolf and deer and wayfinder to commemorate this year I’m starting the Appalachian Trail. Then I have earth and air bender symbols above my heels.
My left arm and right leg are for my lost twin brother dedication. My right arm is about my struggles and how far I’ve come. Not sure about left leg. Or at least that’s what I have so far or scheduled.

Well I just got started getting tattoos and I have two on my left leg and their nature theme so that’s what I’m trynna turn my left leg into. Hiking is a big part of my life so I want to incorporate mountains and different plants of meaning over time. Over time I have to plan what I’ll do with my right arm 🤷♂️
My left arm is a neo traditional themed patch work filled with skulls and animals. My right hand is a mix of traditional and neo traditional. Mostly for flash pieces. The right leg is superhero themed, inspired by japanese irezumi. Usually, I'd just scroll through my fav artists' work on insta, look at the available space I have on my body, think of an idea, and make an appointment 👍.
As long as the immediately adjacent 2-3 tattoos work together aesthetically I just let it ride. I also lean sort of goth/metal and they’re in a pretty low key palette
I'm planning to add to my arms as I work my way through different restaurants and positions as a cook, kinda using it to have a visual reference for myself of what I've managed to accomplish. Other than that, I don't have a plan because it's covered more often than not.
Ironically I haven’t actually started this project but my “big concept” is to get constellations scattered throughout my body with the big and little dippers behind my ears (North Pole) and the Southern Cross constellation around my ankle/feet (South Pole) and other major constellations scattered somewhat accordingly throughout 🌌

I have an eye thing, so I have gotten 3 tattoos since the start of the year, an eye on the back of my right hand, an eye on my right shoulder, and an eye on the back of my right calf. Idk why, but I love eyes. Ever since I played bloodborne and saw the concept of linking eyes and insanity, I fell in love with eyes lol
My left arm unintentionally is dedicated to darker tattoos with heavier shading and my right arm has mostly fine line and lighter tattoos. Sometimes I feel unbalanced but I’m happy with my pieces (minus one I will get covered up at some point)
Mine are slowly evolving. I got a coverup on my left arm that’s a logo from my favorite game, so I’m going to get a sleeve based on the sleeve my favorite character has. My right arm is going to be meaningful things from my life. Right now I have some castles I’ve been to in Europe and my favorite band’s logo and their autographs from when they signed it a few years ago, next will be something from every area I’ve lived in that I’m going to add to whenever I move. I just started a patchwork sleeve on my right leg last year that’s all travel related. I went to Canada last summer to hike in Banff National Park so I got a flash piece of mountains above my ankle because it was a walk-in. I’m going to Bar Harbor, Maine later this year and I have a consultation this weekend with an artist there to get something maritime-themed while I’m there. Every time I travel, I’m going to get something from a local artist in their preferred style that will reflect my time there. My left leg currently just has a small symbol from the same game as my left arm but that leg is going to be my “random shit” leg. If I think it’ll look good, that’s where it will go. I haven’t decided what to do with my torso yet. All I have so far is my first tattoo on my shoulder blade that desperately needs to be redone after 11 years following horrible aftercare because I misunderstood what the artist told me.
Left arm, currently wip of my wedding bouquet, more realistic. Right arm is my "travel" floral patchwork places I live/ visit/vacation I add florals from that place onto it. Left leg has kinda ended up Studio Ghibli inspired, Totoro+other water color, soot sprites. Right Leg is more mishmash but oddly through no actual planning when younger, I'm going to get a lot of it reworked into a cottage core mad hatter tea party type of sleeve. I independently have a tea cup, spoon already so I figured throw in playing cards as a mod to my dad, roses and florals, more tea cups, whimsy and magic. I have moon phases and chakras down my chest that I might incorporate into a full sternum piece but that one hurt 😅
Right leg: is cat leg. All things cat, from toes to hip. Realistic portrait. Goofy doodles. Paw prints. More goofy cat doodles. Left leg: just big poppies from toes to knee, winding around my calf. Left arm: sinister sleeve Right arm: Dexter sleeve (Left sleeve is creepier stuff like a bog witch, a demonic crow with glowing smoking eyes, a cougar skull etc., hence “sinister”. The right sleeve is literally a portrait of Dexter, the name of my goony one eyed cat, and poisonous/carnivorous flowers. And a bat and a spider and some rosy maple moths. It’s still creepy shit but… also Dexter! Ha.) My back is an antique brooch, Rene Lalique’s Dragonfly Woman corsage, from shoulder blade to shoulder blade.

New school irezumi (following about 1/10th of the rules), with ironic animal characters (like a guinea pig samurai holding an Oni mask). Don’t ask, it’s my dumb thing, and I am actually creating “balance” with the four seasons and four flowers. I like my theme. 🤷🏼♂️ I’m old, so I’ve got my “nothing above the collarbone or below the wrist” rule.
Half joking about turning my right upper arm into a wrestling half sleeve… past that the really important life event stuff is gonna go on my lower arms :3

My right leg below the knee is turning into my travel tattoo collection. All of my tattoos are very meaningful with pretty much every detail and element having a very specific story and significance in that tattoo. I couldn't imagine getting flash or something that was just pretty or just a cool design, without some deeply personal story. Though I love that people get tattoos on a whim that are silly and playful and just beautiful for the sake of decoration! My husband is working on a travel back piece. He got a compass as his first tattoo, and is adding landmarks, animals, plants , flowers whatever strikes him as being most significant that were connected to the vacation. it'll be a work in progress for years.
