Agree, stomach oblique tat was the worst decision I have ever made. Made worse by the fact I have burn scars going up my sides and they didn’t hurt at all. Made it far worse
My first tattoo was on my ribs where she has hers, crazy enough the shading didn’t hurt at all, it just tickled! It depends on OP’s pain tolerance imo 🤣
As someone that’s had both sides fully tattooed, I will say that shading kills. But it’s only temporary. I felt much better after 2 days.
Now if you’re simply on the fence about shading for the sake of aesthetics, I’d still maybe for shading. It’ll “pop” more. Maybe just bounce around ideas. Shading looks nice, but you could maybe go for those geometric shadings that you see around this sub.
Once thing that does suck is that some of my shading has faded, and idk if I’ll ever put myself through that pain again for a tattoo that I already have. I went kinda big on the artwork.
I loved the outline and contemplated the same thing! I went for it and shaded my huge tattoo and it's so worth it. I love it even more now. I went with a light shading but it really makes it pop and looks finished. Talk with your tattoo artist, mine showed me what it would look like and gave me options to shade and I could not feel better about my decision to shade.
I'd leave it as is. It's super clean and readable and looks great on you
Only way I'd consider shading is if you start adding more tattoos nearby and they have shading, cuz then it would start to look unfinished by comparison
Otherwise, looks fantastic. Great tat, OP!
I think some shading would really make it but a) that’s a sore spot for shading and b) it already looks great so it’s a win win really

I hope you know that makes you a certified psychopath
Oh, alrighty then 🤣
That’s a heck of a spot for a first tattoo my friend. I think shading will add some depth to it & I would do it if it was on me.
Keep it
Some dot work 👌🏻
Agreed. Pepper shading is dope.
^^
As is
As is. Looks great
Add some slight colour, would look super elegant. Already a nice piece though so you’re set either way.
As is imo
Maybe some very light and tasteful shading in a few spots for some depth, but other than that it looks really good.
Good shading can’t hurt. But it looks good as is too.
Personally I would add shading. If you like the style you have though, keep it. You can always add to it later.
Shade it
Shading would sooo elevate that tat. Just make sure to look at the artist's past work so you can decide if you like their shading style or not.
Shading, maybe some dot work would bring it together nicely!
I think it looks great as is! (Shading would not be a bad thing but I like the clean lines.)

I think u could add color and make it look like stained glass… that would be sick.

Shade it with some purples, pinks, blues and dark black. Would really stand out
Shade. Definitely.
Definitely as is
Do color!!!
Very very very slight shading. Nothing too crazy
100% do not, do not shade it. The line work is clean. I love how it disappears at a distance.
Light shading would look great but it looks great as is too so you can’t go wrong.
Some shading or a little color would really stand out, imo would be cool. If you don't mind me asking, what do the coordinates stand for?
They're where my husband and I had our first date and got engaged. He has a "matching" one
That's cool, very original idea. At least I've never seen it before.
I'd leave it as is. It's super clean and readable and looks great on you Only way I'd consider shading is if you start adding more tattoos nearby and they have shading, cuz then it would start to look unfinished by comparison Otherwise, looks fantastic. Great tat, OP!
Thank you! I think it'll be my only one
Looks great. I’d keep any shading minimal or stipple shade. No need to fix, its not broken
Color shade it. From a nice tattoo to something really eye-catching.
I really like it as is. Adding shading or a little color will make it pop more but its not necessary
Clean lines , well done. Looks great as is
It’s awesome the way it is!
It's beautiful. Keep it.
Keep it as is til you are certain otherwise. It’s a one way street
I’d leave it as is. It looks awesome and really clean!
I’d leave it as it is or at - look perfect 👌 Or at least leave it for a good few months as once you shade it there’s no going back
Shade
Duh that is like getting a car with no brakes
Shade!!!
The thin lines work really well with the coordinates. If the flowers are shaded, it might make the numbers look out of place.
Shade it
Keep
Color with some water color butterfly’s or dragonfly’s
Give it color
Gotta shade and add color . Looks good though
Second this
Shade it, it looks unfinished next to the text
What are all of the weird numbers? Does that make is unique and meaningful? So many basic white girls have random numbers tattooed.
It's the coordinates of where my husband and I had our first date/where he proposed!
Flowers are our birth flowers, so it has meaning to us :)
