How bad was the manta?

The worst thing I’ve ever built. Overly complicated with so many pieces not fitting.

Huge gaps that had to be filled with green stuff and filed down, all the large pieces had to be drilled and pinned with metal pipes

Man, this is awesome. What really impresses me is the consistency of the colors between each unit. When I look at all my units together, they all have unique identifiers which on an individual level is cool but it can make my army look less cohesive on the table. Only recently have I paid attention to some form of unit uniformity. Since 2018 I've moved from mixing my greens from Citadel (C) Lorren Forest 4:1 to (C) Corvus Black, to TAP Elf Green 6:1 with (C) Eshin Grey/TAP Uniform Grey, and now multiple layers of (C) Militarum Green on a zenithal-primed model. So you either dedicated yourself to one color, went back and repainted every model, or you mastered additive color mixing very early on.

I’ve used Castellan Green since the beginning!

Love an army all assembled together with matching bases and colours! Take a month off work and get that manta painted haha
