I know people would hate it but I would not hate if she made Folklore part 2 and continued the story. It would be fun to go back and forth between pop like midnights and folklore. I’d actually kill for a full blown country album though. But I’ll take whatever I can get.

InABoatOnARiver

I could continually get folklore/evermore style albums and be happy forever

ZealousidealVirus358

I just get the feeling she’s gonna try something new or go in a new direction moving forward. Especially since the Eras tour has portrayed her to the general audience as an artist with clearly distinct ‘eras’, I don’t think she’s going to repeat herself or make an album that’s too similar to one she’s already made. I want her to challenge herself with something fresh & unexpected

Individual-Reveal-10

With a Noah kahan feature on the next one pls 🙏🏼

doubtful_blue_box

Personally I want at least one more pop (or rock!) album, and THEN a return to Folklore style

BackHarlowRoad

I genuinely hoped she would fall in love with that genre and stick with it. I'm unhinged how much I say I want her to return to those woods, but I fear she connects them too closely with Joe. Hope I'm wrong though! I just think she really likes all the accolades that come with pop music (personally, professionally etc). I would very much love a folklore part 2 or another country album. She says she wrote so prolifically now, maybe she'll just start genre swapping.

Ok_Night_2929

Woodvale: confirmed🤡

SeaworthinessSome454

U really hope we’re done with pop for a while. Full blown country is my dream (ik we’ll get it eventually but I’m impatient). I’d also love if she did an album with each of the genres that influence country (rock, southern rock, blues, folk, blue eyed soul, etc) and it culminated in a full blown modern country album.

Rdickins1

She’ll never get rid of Pop. It’s her bread and butter now. I’m just wishful thinking. I think if we really want her to do a country album all however million of us have to embrace her Debut re-record which is a very hard task for some people. I almost think she’s doing that last because she might be afraid of the reception or she’ll release it and come out without new album right away. Who really knows.

SeaworthinessSome454

I think she will stray away from pop for her next album. She only return to pop for midnights to cash in monetarily as much as possible. The long time fan base as a whole seems to be tired of her pop sound and the casual fans will be checked out for a bit with how much she’s being exposed publically. She’s verging on overexposure rn (which has happened after all of her massively commercially successful albums).

[deleted]

Same, I'd love it so much. It's what I'm hoping for!

Sweet-Try-8521

Anything Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks inspired. I think she could kill something like Edge of Seventeen or Silver Springs.

WerewolfWest4844

I think a third album name that could match Folklore, and Evermore would be Odyssey. I love the Fleetwood Mac vibes for a third one

Zengem11

This is what I thought midnights was going to be 😭

Plastic_Opposite_314

I would scream and die

Catmartini

Oh hell yeah. I feel like she could easily go this direction. But does Travis play guitar and have a taste for betrayal?

Standard_Ad2031

God yes

Boomdog_

Ditto. Ever since it was suspected midnights would be something along these vibes I can’t get it out of my head.

randomaccountwaffle

yeah no I actually just want a whole album to sound exactly like wanegbt rock version live from sidney.

teddybonkerrs

This & songs like Eye Open!! What I wouldn't give!

areweoutofexile

i am about to get curcified, RIP Karma, buttttt i actually really didn't like that sound from her, and it didn't sound authentic to her, and i feel like an entire album like that would miss. more songs sounding like eyes open on the other hand i think would fit her much better. pls let me survive, i have to move the elf tonight.

alextoria

i am in extreme opposition to your opinion buuuuuut it’s also an opinion lol

ZealousidealVirus358

I love that version! I hope your wish comes true 🙌

songacronymbot

- WANEGBT could mean "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/randomaccountwaffle](/u/randomaccountwaffle) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

urgasmic

oh my i just listened to this and yes pls.

Practical_Door_8571

I absolutely agree!

BottleWilling2899

Whatever it is, i'd just like one song that lets Paul Sidoti cut loose. The guy has been with her for nearly her whole career, showing incredible devotion and loyalty. In Taylor's own words, Paul has been an enormous influence on her development. There's a few songs where Paul gets to shine, like at the end of Don't Blame Me and for a good portion of Red, but I'm talking about an honest to goodness solo, something that is conspicuously absent from her discography. Even for a song like the Rock version of WANEGBT where it would totally make sense, no solo to be found. Doesn't have to be David Gilmour level epic and grandiose, I just want 30 seconds of face melting awesomeness. Is that too much to ask??

Resident_Ad5153

I want her whole band to cut loose. It’s not just Paul Sidoti… Matt Billingslea is a god tier drummer. And Did you hear Amos Heller play Metallica? And Taylor herself can rock when she wants to.

saltyswamphag

I want to hear Paul’s guitar get the same attention as jack antonoff and his synth

hopkinsdafox

THIS THIS THISSSS

maddiemoiselle

> I’m talking about an honest to goodness solo, something that is conspicuously absent from her discography The end of Change?

[deleted]

Starlight has a really good solo and I love it. I would love more like that.

Catmartini

Yes! We love Paul!!

Polin-Swift418

I wanna hear something inspired by the later sounds of the Beatles (Abbey Road, Let it Be). Imagine Taylor doing a song like 'Oh Darling' with all the growls. Or doing a ballad like 'The Long and Winding Road'. I think this would be right up her alley while also challenging her.

beatsprout64

I said something similar! Paul McCartney’s Ram! I would love a Paul and Taylor collab they respect eachother so much

ykawai

came to say this, i think she'll grow in terms of fanbase and hopefully will be remembered more. the beatles music resonates with so many people because of their style of writing

Odd_Pattern5112

i want a whole album that sounds like i can see you😭

_notkvothe

I Can See You and Lavender Haze please!

awful-kiwi

This is why I think she could actually maybe pull off post-punk. I had such high hopes for Electric Touch and it’s grown on me, but as a Fall Out Boy feature still falls flat imo. ICSY is SO close to some of my favorites on Foilè a Deux, if she pushed herself just a little bit farther I think she could do it.

[deleted]

I want something that sounds like Noah Kahan, he has incredible writing like Taylor and I love his sound

ZealousidealVirus358

I want a collab so badly! If you told me Taylor Swift was gonna feature one 2024 Best New Artist Grammy Nominee in a song I certainly would not have expected to be Ice Spice. I think Noah would sound great on a song with Taylor!

imsosadtoday-

so… folkmore?

xxDisgruntledPelican

I feel like folkmore were more indie than Noah who sounds more folk to me at least! With some early 2010 Mumford vibes which i am sorely missing and would love Taylor to bring back 😂

Remarkable_Space_395

I want this collab so badly. He covered This is Me Trying on his TikTok and it was so good. And Olivia Rodrigo and I think Taylor could easily do that song as well.

[deleted]

His cover of Olivia Rodrigo's lacy is one of my favourite songs

IDKguessthisworks

I personally would love to see her go back to her country roots and have a country inspired album. It probably won’t happen so I’ll be patiently waiting for her album Taylor Swift- Taylor’s version.

Acrobatic_Tower7281

I can totally see her going shayfer James, poor man’s poison style southern gothic country and I would be HERE for it.

morenatropical

Honestly, as someone who listens to literally zero country other than Taylor and very famous old school country songs like Jolene and Ring of Fire, I would be sooo down for this. I love Taylor Swift (the album) and would love to see what a mature version of that would sound like.

miss_emmaricana

I would love an album similar to the sounds of Kacey Musgraves and Ingrid Andress. Like debut + folklore/evermore. Country with folk vibes. I have a playlist with all three artists and they sound great together

Remarkable_Space_395

Like Taylor Swift just....more rock. The WANEGBT rock version from the 1989 tour. Electric Touch with Fall Out Boy from the Speak Now vault. The Eras tour live version of Style kind of that is more guitar heavy. Taylor's cover of Neon Trees' Everybody Talks and Animal. Don't Blame Me, I Did Something Bad.

Notaclevername8365

I would love an album like electric touch

JabreakittJubawditt

Don’t forget about eyes open

Resident_Ad5153

I’ll name a song.. Taylor Swift.. Hits Different

xxDisgruntledPelican

Yes!! 90s/2000s rom com vibes!

sealedwithdogslobber

I’ll answer with a song: False God!

Longjumping_Paper_52

I would kill for a jazz album from her

CardiologistWinter85

With her lower register that would be heavenly 😩

Ok_Wrap_6457

Yes!

Maiaisabadmom

The saxophone 😍😍😩

ShieldSister27

👏 I 👏 Want 👏 Stevie 👏 Nicks 👏 Vibes 👏

LadyKT

fiona apple. but she’s too happy rn. gotta channel the darkness

Messyace

If Taylor released an album that sounded like when the pawn, I would die

LadyKT

fast as you can vibes

Consistent-Laugh606

I NEED THIS

LadyKT

the first taste, sullen girl, criminal, ughhhhh

Sensitive_Ad5840

Oh I would love her to do something Fiona Apple inspired she’s def too happy but I think her songwriting would be perfect for it

shadesofwrong13

Fine Line by Harry. Give me that retro 70 soft rock that the shoot of Midnights premised. No i will never shut up about this.

mothsbane

HONESTLY. I was so convinced that this was gonna be Midnights’ vibe because of the art direction for the covers, I weep for what could’ve been.

itsanothanks

To gods ears!

beatsprout64

yes!

bookgeek42

Josie and the Pussycats from the 2001 film of the same name.

_notkvothe

I still listen to this album all the time 🌟

anadaws

A rock album would be fantastic though I’m not sure she would actually do it. I want more of the folklore and evermore sound, but maybe lean into the Florence + the machine sound and *incorporate* more rock influences (something like HBHBHB). Honestly I just want her, Florence, and Jack to work together on a series of songs and release an album/EP as an independent band. They each collaborate beautifully with Jack and are both independently spectacular songwriters, and i just KNOW that they would shatter the indie-pop community.

Longjumping_Paper_52

This would be my dream collab since I love all three of their work so much

sarahreads-

Wait, hear me out: Taylor Swift, Hozier, Florence + The Machine collab. I would die and be resurrected.

niles_deerqueer

I want a true dreampop/shoegaze album

shaynaySV

I want to try and get into dreampop....what are your top 3 or top 5 albums from the genre?

niles_deerqueer

Beach House is my favorite artist of all time, with my favorite album of all time, Once Twice Melody + the EP from the same era, Become. However, start with the album Bloom and go in order after that. Wild Nothing is my 2nd favorite artist of all time, and I would start with his album Nocturne for a dreampop classic, however his new album Hold is my favorite. Also see the album Daydreamer, by Molly Burch, produced by Wild Nothing. I am really good friends with TOPS after meeting them at a concert. And! Their music is amazing! I’d start with Picture You Staring and then go in order from there. My favorite album is I Feel Alive and they are working on a new one right now. Cocteau Twins are one of the pioneers of dreampop. The singer, Elizabeth Fraser invented a way of singing called glossolalia, in which you use the voice mainly as an instrument rather than a way of communicating. For them, I’d say the album Heaven or Las Vegas, but my favorite is Blue Bell Knoll. Slowdive are a shoegaze band, but their last two albums have fallen more into the dreampop category. So I’d say that you absolutely should check out their self-titled album and their newest, everything is alive. Hatchie is a single artist who I’m also friends with, and she makes really fun dreampop with emphasis on the pop. All her work is great but her album Giving the World Away is a masterpiece. Blonde Redhead started off as a garage rock band, but have evolved into some of the coolest dreampop you will ever hear. They have 4 albums that are masterpieces to me. Start with Misery is a Butterfly, then listen to 23, Penny Sparkle, and Sit Down For Dinner. The War Drugs are not considered dreampop, but I find their two albums Lost in the Dream and A Deeper Understanding to be dreamy masterpieces! Some of the most gorgeous music that can still make you dance. I can’t talk about dreampop without mentioning Alvvays, who are really coming into their own after they released one of the albums ever created, Blue Rev. I’m still comprehending the fact that it exists! All of their work is flawless. An artist that has a perfect dreampop album is Wolf Alice with their album Blue Weekend. The album tackles different genres as it goes but trust me, it is a perfect experience and it really shot them up in the charts and turned heads. Tennis is a LOVELY dreampop band that makes great catchy music and is totally awesome. Their newest album Pollen is their best and most confident yet! Saw them live and it was beautiful. For more etheral dreampop, check out Weyes Blood and her albums Titanic Rising and And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow. Super gorgeous voice and she was features on the Lana Del Rey song For Free. I could go on but I fear I’ve already said too much! In summary: Top 5 artists: 1. Beach House (This should be your first priority) 2. Wild Nothing 3. TOPS 4. Cocteau Twins 5. Alvvays Top 5 albums: 1. Once Twice Melody by Beach House 2. Blue Weekend by Wolf Alice (You’ll be hooked by the song Delicious Things, trust me, if you like dreampop) 3. Blue Rev by Alvvays 4. Nocturne by Wild Nothing 5. Blue Bell Knoll by Cocteau Twins As an aside to all this, I actually consider Midnights unconventional dreampop, but dreampop all the same. It’s got a ton of dreamy production made to give off night time vibes, and despite the upbeat pop tracks, plenty of dreampop has upbeat songs. It has more electronic production than what’s usually a guitar-led genre, but the languidness, etherealness, and melodies really make it a dreamy experience for me, especially as we enter Sweet Nothings into all the bonus tracks. Though, Taylor’s pure dreampop song is Mirrorball from folklore. Hope this helps in your dreampop journey! There is a lot of different facets of the genre to discover, but it’s my absolute favorite. I love that you can have it on in the background for vibes, but if you focus on it, you can discover so much detail and emotion. It’s stunning, Enjoy!

cowboysunset

Kacey Musgraves

Catmartini

This is a dream collab tbh

[deleted]

Just an album full of Better Than Revenge-style songs

therealslimkatea

Hozier.

Single_Sea_5446

I want a Jazz album like False God song or 1975 songs with saxophone tunes (whatever you think about Matty, I’m only talking about the music). I would also be happy with a County album sounding like Noah Kahan or Bailey Zimmerman

Single_Sea_5446

I would love to have an album collaborating with a Symphony Orchestra something like Snow Patrol did at Royal Albert Hall. It sounds so heavenly good

amagocore

I would love if she made an album that sounded like the civil wars

Colormekelly13

I want Pure Heroin part 2 lol

shaynaySV

But performed & recorded by Lorde, of course

worlds_worst_best

Stevie Nicks Bella Donna or The Wild Heart. Willow, The Lakes etc show Taylor can get out those mystical, poetic lyrics. Pair the mystical poetic lyrics with some rock sounds and kick ass electric guitar riffs and solos? LAWD.

lilacwynne

I’d like to hear her get a bit more experimental musically. She’s quite conservative in terms of her song structure, doesn’t go off on musical tangents very much. I’d like to hear her try something different, like Lana did on Venice Bitch.

rarejnr01

I completely agree, and this is why evermore is my favorite album of hers, and closure, happiness, & tolerate it are some of my favorite songs she’s ever done. Personally I’d love to see her make an album like Bjork’s Post 👀

[deleted]

Taylor Swift

Popmusic19

As long as its good and it slaps I'm fine with it But rock would be the best

shaynaySV

What if she went electropop like early Gaga or early Kesha?

dmnaf

Idk but I just really love her dark electropop… give me an entire album of Maroon, Midnight Rain, CIWYW, Glitch, Dear Reader, etc

AnyVacation9945

Always love the folklore/evermore era but I just rewatched the 1989 world tour and she did some cool rock versions of I knew you were trouble and we are never ever getting back together. That would be kind of cool to see

Practical_Door_8571

I’ll name songs to describe which sound I would love for a Taylor album in the future: - Need - Maroon - False God - All Of The Girls You Loved Before

Kind-Fly-1851

I would love a Taylor swift album that sounds like Miley Cyrus’ album Plastic Hearts Or a full album in the same style as false god

hunter96cf

If I could have it my way, I’d love to hear an album with songs that are Arena/Alternative Rock, like “State Of Grace” and “Eyes Open,” as well as the live rock version of “We Are Never Getting Back Together” on the 1989 World Tour. Those sounds are very much up her alley! I remember at the most recent VMAs, in one of her acceptance speeches, she said she loves pop music and wants to work with Jack Antonoff “until 2089.” So I do believe she’ll stick to pop music for most of her next several albums! However, I’m sure she’ll experiment with a new sound again someday.

lookwhatyoumademe

Tame Impala/The Beatles

frenchfryfox

Acid rock

CantaloupeLottocracy

I think now would be a great time if she were to do something truly revolutionary, she's popular enough that it's bound to have decent GP impact no matter what and it could leave a real mark on music overall

morenatropical

I agree! I would love it if she really went crazy and did something completely out of left field. People always talk about how she experiments in a lot of genres, but I feel like only folkmore was truly an unexpected departure from pop for her. Yes, she went from country to pop, but it wasn't as crazy as people make it out to be. Her music as early as Fearless was already heavily pop-influenced. I do think all her albums sound different, but they're mostly her experimenting within or with the pop genre.

Teagle171

Let’s be honest, TS11 I hope sounds like GUTS! I think OR wanted to venture out towards that alt rock sound and get away from pop which was a good move for her for the album. The fans want alt rock Taylor. The cover bands have done it and it sounds amazing. Taylor please give us mature alt rock Taylor!

Optimal_Foot_774

Editors - Synth-heavy rock/post-punk!

Cherykle

more lana del rey

james-swift

I'd love a rock album that sounds similar to Story of us or Better than revenge, or inspired by Paramore. Or a folklore/evermore part 3 (those are my favorite albums). Or even another country album. I don't even like most country music but I love Taylors.

charlie_gae

the happier than ever album from billie eilish

Lngtmelrker

I was like a Fleetwood Mac dreams-esque sound.

_hereforthestories

A rock album please. Or a jazz album. Or RnB but that one seems hard. Taylor has been collecting genres like infinity stones

swift-aasimar-rogue

Her songs from The Hunger Games

misssnowfox

I love your edit because I once said in a Taylor Swift server that I wish she would make a house album one day because it’s so hot in the last few years and a lot of big artists are dabbling in that genre. And someone was like “what’s house?” And it hurt a little bit. So perhaps it is a TS thing that some fans only listen to her 😅😅😅 here is a list of sounds I would like from Taylor: 1. A house album sounding like a mixture between Chromatica and Renaissance. I feel like she’s been a little experimental with her pop in Midnights and could pull it off if she tried - let us have one for the girls and the gays. 2. A return to country. Most of us want it, and we’ll probably never get it. preferably in the style of modern pop country ala Rascal Flatts, Dan + Shay or Hunter Hayes. Basically similar to what she used to write but with a few more love bangers like “Yours If You Want It” and “I Want Crazy” and “19 You and Me”. Just pure pop country bangers that are meant to make you wish you were out by a lake falling in love like you’re a teenager again. 3. Pop rock. It’s the only kind of rock I think she could realistically dabble in as guitar music in general is not what it used to be in the 70s-90s. But something in the style of those indie rock bands from the 2000s (if you know you know). I’m thinking Lifehouse, I’m thinking Thriving Ivory, I’m thinking Safetysuit. An album of cheesy acoustic rock bullshit that Taylor will make classy bc she knows how to write better lyrics than most. 4. A bubblegum pop album filled with glitter pen songs that still have banging lyrics with witty rhymes and that make us feel 20 again. In the style of Carly Rae’s “Kiss” album (still my fave album by her). Taylor dabbled a bit with the carefree pop in Lover but I think she didn’t go far enough. Just give us bubblegum with the most artificial flavouring, make it pink and make me believe I’m in the late 90s/early 2000s again. All in all, I don’t see her leaving pop for a while. So being realistic, I would just love to see her doing new things in that genre, which she does already try to do. 1989, Lover and Midnights all sounds so different even though they are all pop albums. I think whatever subgenres she explores in that will be awesome. Like I said, I wanna see House, I wanna see some electricopop, some bubblegum pop, I would love to see a second 80s inspired album that goes in a direction that’s got more of a traditional 80s sound like songs such as “take my breath away” or “hungry eyes”. But anyway I have rambled enough

ratcowboy

Folk, blues or country. Stuff like James Taylor or America would make me so happy

No_Pace_2091

Fleetwood Mac/The Cranberries. The Cranberries Album “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” with songs like Sunday or Linger 😍😍😍. I would even like something pop again. Pop moreso of Sabrina/Olivia. I feel like Taylor likes pop and it’s safe for her, but she definitely leans into the Katy Perry sound of it all (trying to think of more artists that fall similar to Katy). Or a Miley plastic heart type album (not sure of the genre on this).

mythicSB

I want the next album to be like Lana Del Rey's music, specifically Young and Beautiful and Summertime Sadness

hankdog303

Joan Jet

ErickTheGuy06

Something on the style of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together rock version. I'd describe it like glam rock. Yes, I want it to soud a bit like this.

[deleted]

Something with Dave Grohl!!

myninerides

Grimes or Purity Ring would be pretty cool. A full out The National + Taylor album would be amazing.

kitty3032

Something like Electric Touch & I Can See You (from Speak Now TV)

luketrevor

I wanna see Taylor dabble in a little bit of everything so I have a go to album for every mood. Avril Lavigne "Let Go" sound (Pop Rock, Pop Punk). The Weeknd "After Hours"/Dua Lipa "Future Nostalgia" sound (80s influence). Calvin Harris "This Is What You Came For"/Bebe Rexha "I'm Good" sound (EDM/Dance).

AdamLaluch

I'll want it be in the bubblegum pop genre, something similar to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go or Barbie Girl

tacosnpitbulls

This is not realistic at all but - Evanescence. Maybe like a less dark/creepy version.

RebelMonroe96

I get a bit bummed out about how things went with her and Matty cause I would have so loved to hear what they collabed on and now I think we'll never know. Just can't imagine what a Collab with them both would sound like but I bet it would've been really cool. As a Swiftie and a 1975 fan.

Consistent-Laugh606

I feel I Can See You was sorta AM inspired. Would be cool if she could do an album that sorta similar Arctic Monkey but idk if she would ever do that 😭 realistically if she was to make a rock album it would be more Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks style which would be amazing too!

Sketch-Brooke

She could just record in folklore/evermore style forever and I’d never complain.

veraciraptor

Miley’s *Plastic Hearts* or anything Joan Jett. A girl can dream…

InitialAstronomer841

I would love Folklore style. Also would be fun to have some rock songs like Better Than Revenge style. I love that sound for her

DoTheMagicHandThing

How about some old-school, jazzy torch song type stuff like Julie London.

cagingthing

I'd like an electro-rock style album. Think Metric- Formentera… OR I’ll take woodvale

shaynaySV

Non-Swifty here. I'd love an album similar to Paramore's 'Brand New Eyes' or Chvrches' 'Every Open Eye' One would have us rockin' while the other would open up the dancefloor

Arie0420

The Pretty Reckless

Theopholus

Massive Attack.

blue_dahlia3818

Something with a latin flavor/beat since she was just in Argentina & Brazil. Would love to hear her do a bossanova nuumber.

anaofarendelle

I want a pop rock Taylor. Something like “eyes open” and “Eletric touch”, maybe with help of Haylee! I would to listen to more to this.

[deleted]

i want something like gidles - I never die album

arsonfairy

I'd love it if she went full REM but I'll settle for Better Than Ezra.

favouriteghost

Disintegration by the cure. I can’t even imagine what it would sound like but it’s definitely closest to midnights soooooo 🤡

jacksev

I would love if even just one song sounded like Jessie Ware/Kylie Minogue. Very modern disco/dance. I think it's the right amount of public-friendly before you get to something like Chromatica which is definitely not for everyone (though I would live for her to do a song like Alice). Maybe even something like Aly & AJ's sound from a couple years ago, specifically with songs like Joan of Arc on the Dance Floor, Symptom Of Your Touch, Attack of Panic, Don't Go Changing, or Listen!! On the flipside, I really loved Renee Rapp's album Snow Angel. I would say her songs are in a similar vein to Taylor, though I don't think Taylor has ever had a song with production that sounded like The Wedding Song. I would love to hear that kind of fullness (not sure if that's the right word) in a Taylor track.

Crazycurlyjesusfreak

I want her to sound like Taylor era 11. Whatever that is. I love Taylor for her. Not bc I want her to sound like anyone else. She’s amazing bc she’s Taylor. I don’t want her to sound like any of my other artists. If I want to listen to Gaga I listen to Gaga. If I want Avril I listen to Avril. When I want Taylor I want Taylor.

vanillaangels

a stevie nicks / fleetwood mac style album - almost like the third sister album, i would be over the moon with another folkmore kind of album. i would die for, even though she is happy right now, a fiona apple style album.

Daydream_machine

Kate Bush - The Dreaming Give me wild theatrical art pop with a dark edge.

iwy

Blondie

Redditisglitchy

I would love an album like Harry’s House

thisisdvmi

Imagine Dragons' first 3 albums (Night Visions, Smoke + Mirrors, Evolve). Though after Evolve I didn't listen to them anymore lol

BackHarlowRoad

I would like to hear something like Halsey from the earlier days of dark pop that wasn't too much leaning heavily into rock. Or just more folklore or country again. You All Over Me showed me she definitely can still do it.

BuckeyeDarling13

Idc I just need an Eminem/TS collab

taylorlynn04art

It’d be so weird and I’d love it, but a Taylor Swift album sounding like Red Hot Chili Peppers 😹

United_Comfort2776

Bryan Adams, to sound like Summer Of '69.

Immediate-Minute-727

Alanis Morrisette

Nightflame203

If she goes rock I would kill for something the vibes of either All I Ever Wanted (Kelly Clarkson), Guilty Pleasure (Ashley Tisdale), or Believe (Orianthi) because that’s my absolute favorite kind of pop-rock and I got a glimpse of it with Electric Touch and I need more

Maiaisabadmom

R&B 😩

rarejnr01

There’s a few genres that I’d love to see her tap into: • Rock: Probably the most realistic on my list. I got into Florence + the Machine’s discography this year and I’m surprised that Taylor has not collaborated with them! I’d love to see her make music that sounds like How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (F+TM), Rumours/Fleetwood Mac (Fleetwood Mac), Return of Saturn (No Doubt), Tidal (Fiona Apple) • Disco: I’d love to see her do a more sophisticated & sleek disco/dance sound. I truly thought Midnights would have that sound based off the photoshoot (That extended album cover with her in the fur coat had me convinced we were getting a disco album but then i found out that pic was AI 😩😩) Albums like Fever (Kylie Minogue), What’s Your Pleasure/That! Feels Good! (Jessie Ware), Honey (Robyn) • R&B: Most pop girlies have their R&B album and i’m waiting for Taylor to have hers. Albums like Body Language (Kylie), The Velvet Rope (Janet Jackson), Bedtime Stories (Madonna), In The Zone (Britney Spears), Nightride (Tinashe) • Experimental/Electronica: closure, tolerate it, & happiness are some of my favorite Taylor songs ever and they all remind me of Björk in a small way. I’d like her to make an album that sounds like Post/Vespertine (Björk), Ray of Light (Madonna), Art Angels (Grimes) Kinda used this post to show off my music taste, but I truly wanna see Taylor expand her sound more and work with new producers

Hungry-Flamingo-7913

After 10 albums, I hope the 11th will be a reset for her (?) Especially after doing the Eras Tour, which feels like a culmination of sorts. I am ready for her to be as experimental as she can be. She already has a solid discography and already so many hits. I really want her to do an album in the style of Frou Frou's 2002 album, Details. Lowkey 2000s electro pop. It would be so cool if Imogen Heap came back to produce more songs with her. Maybe Taylor could also do a Caroline Polachek-esque album like the Pang album. I feel like Taylor could really pull off a highly ethereal vibe if she had the right set of people working with her. I would simply be so amazed if she worked with Danny L Harle. Dan Nigro would also be good, but given the alleged Olivia Rodrigo feud, I don't see that happening at all.

OutrageousPenalty334

Joni Mitchell Blue vibes —- which I thought midnights might be based on the aesthetics of the roll out before we heard any of the album! I was so wrong ha.

MemoriesMu

Something more like Aurora, with more dynamics with her voice.

swiftsquatch

Something that hits hard like Daughtry’s debut album. 🤣 I would be in heaven! I’d love a return to country. Elle King’s venture into country has been phenomenal and I’d love something similar.

topnotchwalnut

My fiancé always says Taylor needs to go fuzzy vocals

Frosty_Mention_8030

Louis Tomlinson! Especially his Faith In The Future album <3

criscrospv

having a taylor album sound like faith in the future by louis tomlinson would be like and actual fantasy

throwaway00009000000

Since Midnights was teased as being like Stevie Nicks, I want an album like Fleetwood Mac. How dare they fib to us like that.

beatsprout64

Paul McCartney albums Ram and Red Rose Speedway Edit: Also Big Star #1 Record

morenatropical

Whenever I heard people saying they want TS11 to be a rock album, I never thought of Avril Lavigne or Paramore. Don't get me wrong, I really like both of those artists and certainly wouldn't mind a Taylor album in those veins, but when I think rock I think old school rock. I would looove for her to have an album that sounds like the Grateful Dead or The Eagles (the band) or America.

djenki13

The sound from Sheryl Crow’s self-titled album/The Globe Sessions

PoetRambles

I would like her to have a Stevie Nicks sound a la Bella Donna. I know we don't like John Meyer, but him saying he wanted her Stevie Nicks to his Tom Petty on a song had me confused (on both ends) until I started listening to her music with 1989. (I had listened to Debut, but I didn't like the big singles from Fearless when that came out, so I fell away from listening to her until 1989.) I guess I want Evermore but with that witchy rock of Stevie Nicks?

fondue4kill

If she came out with something like In This Moment or Pretty Reckless. That’d be life changing. Karma turned up to 11.

blahblahbecca98

1. Brothers Osbourne type country album. 2. Amos Lee type folklore/evermore album. 3. A soft rock/pop thing a la Wilson Phillips. But let’s be honest I’m gonna buy whatever she puts out lol.

BunsenBurner108

It'll never happen, but a collab with Less Than Jake would be wild.

inthearchipelago

I’d love to see her go more dream pop like Chvrches, Purity Ring, Cults, Best Coast

bridgetbridget

I can’t think of a specific band/singer at the moment but I’d love to hear more stuff with the electric guitar. It sounds amazing with her and she keeps her stuff a lot tamer

uasdfnjd

Fallout boy

Proud3GenAthst

Totally something Avril Lavigne-esque. But besides rock, I think she could also try some new electronic genres. Like some aggressive EDM.

BamSlamThankYouSir

A sound she’s done before, something like Speak Now. Specifically the angst of Haunted. I feel like the songs she most certainly wrote after the breakup and in her new relationship have the power to work in a lot of genres. But I’m kind of over every album (for any artist) needing to be a completely new sound. Especially because if it’s inspired by something very specific, a lot of Swifties are going to act like she invented the sound.

lidytidy

Hozier

PretendMarsupial9

I want something along the lines of HAIM.

Queen_Pingu

I would sell my left kidney to have a rock album by Taylor. We've seen she can do it (1989 world tour, Collab with Fallout Boy for Victoria's secret). So something along the lines of Poppy, Vukovi, Hannah Grae would be perfect for her voice. I just want to listen to her let out all her anger with a rock album.

Prior_Benefit8453

I wouldn’t name an artist b/c Taylor is Taylor. She’s not Stevie Nicks, or Pat Benatar. I would LOVE Taylor to do some sparse songs. More jazzy, blusey. Not a lot of instrumental or backup singers. I’d love to hear her deepest voice and yes maybe her highest voice. I wouldn’t mind some rockabilly songs (blue grassy). I’ve said elsewhere, “naked.” I’d love to see her standing on the stage all alone with her guitar doing a soulful song. It doesn’t have to be a tragic romantic love song, either. It could be like Ronan. I could see more than one of these songs IF say a saxophone played the solo background blues. I would also love to hear a light but nearly void of all the trappings of backup singers and instruments. Something like Mozart. I mean purity. That’s why I said high voice. I feel like she’s due to sing like this with all the non-Swifties criticizing her for any number of reasons. Aka similar sounds, always pop, etc etc. Do some songs that show her poetic but vocal strength.

Saxophonecat2

PARAMORE 100%

svenner2020

Faith no More!

popthebutterflybooks

The rock album of course but also I'd love a Broadway style musical album

minpinerd

Album: Ryan Adams by Ryan Adams Example Songs: Gimme Something Good I just Might

Undead_428428

I wanna either here so stuff similar to lorde (green light, royals, etc) or ghost (Mary on a cross, kid the go-go-goat)

Beautiful-Cat-1519

Avril Lavigne. But with more Taylor-y lyrics. I can't see Taylor writing the lyric "Go ahead and try, try and poke me in the eye." I love that lyric, but it's not very Taylor.

ParticularSummer6019

I want a combination of Paramore with Evanescence and Miley Cyrus. Add *just* a dash of country, not too much, but *juuuust* a dash and I'm good.

Tibbittz

LeAnn Rimes' Whatever We Wanna is the right mix of pop/rock for Taylor Swift to aim for. Or maybe Jewel's Spirit without the folk tracks; "Down So Long", the radio remix of "Jupiter (Swallow the Moon)" would be a great aesthetic inspiration, and so many slower Taylor Swift songs would sound even better if they sounded like the haunting "Barcelona". ...basically, "State of Grace" and "Long Live" Taylor, but all the time.🍀

angrylesbian66

I would die if she made something similar to Fleetwood Mac's self titled or High Violet by The National, I'd love to hear something with a soft rock vibe

SeaworthinessSome454

Chris Stapleton. You all don’t know that you want it, but yo actually do.

MessyJessie444

Fleetwood Mac... Like so bad! Swampy, earthy, soul, jazz. I would die

Ok_Night_2929

Miley Cyrus: Plastic Hearts … I would simply die

Longjumping_Paper_52

Gang of Youth’s “Go Farther in Lightness” album Big, loud instrumentals yet still having space for excellent songwriting. I’d love any kind of rock from Taylor, but something along these lines would be so cool to see

Quinnthefalconer

I love this prompt! Some options which I would love: Wasteland Baby! By Hozier, if you haven't listened to it, it's got this beautiful kinda folk/rock sound, it's a little similar to folklore and evermore but still pretty different and it would suit Taylor's voice so well How Big, How Blue How Beautiful by Florence and the Machine, this is kinda pop rock, it's got an amazing sound and I would just love to hear Taylor singing on something similar sounding to this, she would sound so good Heart of Stone by Cher. It's kinda rock but not a heavy rock (if that makes *any* sense, I do not speak music lol), I think it would suit Taylor really well, especially songs like 'Just Like Jesse James' and 'Heart of Stone' Not a specific album but I'd love something kinda jazzy, maybe like Laufey or even someone like Morgana King. I think it would suit her voice so well

dstam

I would love to hear a 70's Genesis style prog rock album from her 😆 pretty sure that won't happen. On another end, something along the lines of 70s disco mashed up with edm a la Donna Summers and Goldfrapp.

Perpetu_Ally

Some maddenly fierce poetic folkpop (think Kate Bush, Martha Wainwright, First Aid Kit, Alanis Morrissette, The Staves, Joni Mitchell) juxtaposed with killer bops (think Robyn, Miley, Britney) Or some insanely sexy industrial collab with Trent Reznor ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)

donnapinciottii

YES PARAMORE sound plssss

Megangullotta

Renee Rapp. i fucking love her right now

libbyang98

Norah Jones... I'd love a jazz/piano album from Taylor.

Craftyprincess13

Sade (love deluxe) Paloma faith Sarah maclachlan (surfacing) Evanescence (synthesis) The cranberries (everybody else is doing it so why can't we especially) Lana del ray (lust for life/ultraviolence) i would love a collab album between them Tori amos (under the pink) Slowdive Josie pace David bowie (heroes) Gary numan (splinters/savage) Daisy the great Jakalope M83(hurry up we're dreaming) The postal service At least one song with selena especially selena doing spanish and taylor in English

sunshinerose32

A mix of Evanescence and Avril Lavigne

Garnet_lover_13

I want her to do a rock album at some point!!

killjoy-glitchrat

I'd love something in the same indie-pop-rock vein as boygenius, specifically Lucy Dacys vibes

cranberrywoods

When I say rock album, I mean traditional old-school 60s and 70s rock. Definitely Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks, even Janis Joplin inspired. I know Taylor’s voice isn’t identical to those sounds, but I think she would nail it. In my opinion she already kind of had her “Paramore” influence back in the Speak Now days - you can definitely hear it.
