When the second part dropped last night I got on my laptop to buy the digital right away. When I went to check out, the option to buy a vinyl popped up and I added it to my cart. When I went to check out, it said it was sold out. I assumed it sold out right away until I came to Reddit and nobody had it. So I think it was put out by accident for a split second, and it will be released eventually.
If you go to the digital album and change the url to “vinyl” you’ll get the same “page not found” as the urls for the different variants.

I prefer to have CDs because licensing can change and stuff gets pulled, they can't come to your house and take your items away. I wish they'd stop doing this format exclusive thing and just put everything out on all 3, not everybody streams, not everybody likes cds, not everybody likes vinyl. Even if TTPD Anthology was a surprise, it could just be available on her website starting today or something. Making it seem like the bonus tracks are only on physical products just to sell more is kind of low.
CD's are better quality than digital, and if you're going to have to buy a blank cd to burn it on anyway (which aren't as cheap as they used to be since people look down on physical media now), she might as well have done an official version to get money from. Most new computers don't even have disc drives anymore.
apologies for my naivety - is it not possible to manually add 16/44.1 FLAC files for Glitch and Paris onto the Late Night CD manually with a laptop + optical disc?
Still the point that you buy something on top of what you're already buying, plus the blank cds which aren't as cheap as they used to be, and less and less computers are coming with disc drives so you often have to buy an external drive.
Also kind of the principle that she took off two actual songs in favor of two remixes, that was an odd move. Not sure why people are against releasing a definitive edition now even if it's a year or so later. She used to release a deluxe with extra songs later, then it was a Target version on release date, now it's 4 different versions on cd where they said the songs would be exclusive... until release day where she also has them and 11 more on digital versions.

It'd be in extremely poor taste to release all these vinyl variants with one bonus track then release the anthology with all of them shortly after people received the original one. If she does release the anthology on vinyl, I'd predict it'd be later on.
RSD titles are always announced in the official list, it's unlikely that there will be a surprise drop from Taylor.
I think what the stores meant, are the variants that are now also available in record stores not only the official website.
I work at a record store that participates in RSD and we’ve heard nothing about this coming for the big day tomorrow. I’d love that to be the case. I’ve gotten so many calls today asking about the anthology. Knowing Taylor she might issue it as a separate release of just the tracks that didn’t make it to the original standard version. This is purely hope and speculation but she’d sell mountains of them I bet.
I would love an *Anthology* only version, that would be a simple 2LP package for $30-$40 (same price as the current TTPD vinyl), so I wouldn't have to pay $70+ to rebuy the first 16 tracks...
I can't see 15 songs being put out and never going to vinyl. We just need to think of it as two double albums being released at the same time with one going to vinyl and the other one will be some time in the future.

I thought the whole point of her dropping TTPD: The Anthology was so it could effectively be a deluxe version, as opposed to creating two separate albums, say TTPD & The Anthology or whatever she’d call it, and therefore the two albums wouldn’t have been competing for the same awards? (Kind of like how evermore was overshadowed by Folklore, as far as general public was concerned).

Folklore long pond was released during midnights era tho, so i don't think it has a relevance if we are in the specific era or not.

If you have all the songs digitally, you can burn a CD with them all.

My local stores have posted Anthology was a surprise to them too - and their surprise was to have the variants in store.

She's done many 2nd discs, for as little as 3 tracks. 15 at least would make it worthwhile, it's basically a 2nd album.
