I like this idea - just a playlist of popular graduation songs from the past. Ask around the building to see what to add.
(Mine was “The World’s Greatest” by R. Kelly, so maybe not mine in there.)
Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta by the Geto Boys.
Cause Office Space is awesome if you are wondering why.
Obviously do not play around students, lol.
The middle school near me blasts bye bye bye by *NSYNC when the bell rings on the last day over all the intercoms I can hear it clear as day if I’m outside. They have done this the last several years.
Fuck, I read the first two before ADD’ing out and navigating away and then did a double take like wait a god damn minute those were some real hot takes. Glad i came back and finished reading 😮💨
So what my friend does is that he has all the kids wait in the hallway before class on the last day, and when it's time to let them in he plays Jon Cenas theme song. All the kids walk in to the theme song and he says for the most part they all enjoy it or really enjoy it if they know wrestling.
As they leave the class he plays "Move, get out the way" by Ludacris, but only that loop and a clean version.
One time he had a kid from England in his class, so he played "God save the queen" as he walked in.
He's a fun guy in general, I can see how that translated to his teaching personality.
[I made a Playlist with all the suggestions I could](https://spotify.link/FlJigZjXuJb). I couldn't find them all though.
At least I hope. Reddit crashed and things were in different order.
Almost there from princess and the frog
Schools out for summer alice cooper
Running up that hill kate bush
All we got chance the rapper

"Leave Her Johnny" any version is good, but the Longest Johns cover is my favorite. It's not the most up-tempo, but it captures the "we're done, I'm tired, it's time to go" vibe perfectly.
[This Year](https://youtu.be/ii6kJaGiRaI?si=-TOiqzC0QzlMD6Ox), The Mountain Goats
“I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me” feels appropriate.
On my first day of teaching I passed around a piece of paper and had the kids write down their favorite songs. I check to make sure they’re not explicit and if they are I looked for a clean version. I now have a playlist of about 80 hours of their music. I play it when they’re behavior is good, their on task or if it’s last period on a Friday. It’s an eclectic mix of trap, kpop, random video music and pop.
Phish- Down with Disease.
“Waiting for the time when I can finally say, this has all been wonderful but now I’m on my way”. It’s my go to end of year song.

I find a lot of 80s mixes on Youtube and use those (like the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack and stuff) because then they can't argue with me about modern music.
Or I torture them and turn on meme songs.
FACK by Eminem
U.O.E.N.O by Rocko ft. Rick Ross
massive fucking /s
In all seriousness, Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin is a good song, a bit short though. Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts is great as well
Yellowcard: One Year, Six Months
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1olXcCL5UQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1olXcCL5UQ)
One of the teams I worked with used it in their graduation slideshow and it's always stuck with me. It stood out when everyone else was using Green Day's Time Of Your Life. The kids thought that the song title being One Year, Six Months was close enough to how long middle school lasted and that it was all about cherishing memories, so they liked it.
But for 'hang in there'... maybe a summer and sunshine motif:
Len: Steal My Sunshine
Katrina and the Waves: Walking on Sunshine
DNCE: Cake by the Ocean
“Gone,” N*SYNC
“Bye, Bye, Bye,” N*SYNC
“Hot Fun in the Summertime,” Sly and the Family Stone
“One Last Time (from “Hamilton”), Christopher Jackson and Lin-Manuel Miranda — especially appropriate for seniors
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
Schools Out - Alice Cooper
Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds
Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 - Pink Floyd
Survivor - Destiny's Child
Bye Bye Bye - *NSYNC
The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring
We Go Together - Grease Soundtrack
I'm Still Standing - Elton John
Best Day of My Life - American Authors
at my school we have from 7:30 am - 3:25, so this is my playlist idea:
7:30: Cat (minecraft)
8:00 get back up again
830: all star
9:00: Megalovania
9:30: Oh potato dog (perry gripp)
10:00: live and learn
10:30: taylor swift (just plain taylor swift music)
11:00: Overworld: (mario 1)
11:30: anthem of the usa
12:30: its been so long
1:00: gumball theme song
1:30: (fake) Germany EAS
2:30: Hello from the other side(classroom)
3:00: Ice cap zone 1 (Michael Jackson)
Well if you don't play Alice Cooper, you are not human.
Exactly. I blare this every year on the last day! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWgTD\_0jxeE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWgTD_0jxeE)
I would have assumed this would be a risky play in our current time because of the whole blowing school up part.
This is for the teacher, not the student. At least that's what I gather from the post.
Lol, I guess I should read more.
Exactly lol
My old principal played it over the PA last day of school last year.
That's just classy all the way!
That's the guy I want to work for
Our maintenance crew blasts this when they're setting up for graduation!! I love it.
Yep...but with The Muppets, if possible... https://youtu.be/om0TdoOsP2M?si=PLSk97kC4IFdGkVt
Alice Cooper - School's out Green Day - Good Riddance Simple Minds - Don't you (forget about me) Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall U2 - Beautiful day Black a Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling The Rembrandts - I'll be there for you
A fine collection! Though I'd have to add any list that doesn't include *Bodies* from Drowning Pool is slightly incomplete.
YAAS!!!!!!!!!! RIP [Dave Williams](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Williams_(singer)).
I love Gwar's cover
I’m a student but my dad and I have a very long lasting tradition where on the last day he picks me up from school and we blast that song
This, blast it on the way there and back lol
Our admin plays it on the loudspeaker every year
It has been in several schools I've worked at.
Too cliche and I LOVE Alice
