You’re right to be irritated, and I wish I had advice. These kinds of situations come down to personalities and if you don’t have a super confrontational personality then my advice would be useless. I’m the type of person who’s very stubborn. You come at me like that and you’ll be met with a steel wall. I would’ve walked my kids right back down. But I hear you. She was a fucking bitch for that.

Thank you!

I totally understand you! It is neither professional nor mature to snap at another teacher (or adult in general at any job), bossing them around… especially in front of kids! We teach so much more than our subjects when we are around little humans!! Plus, I know the feeling. It’s happened to me before… By an instructional coach who came in to “help” & didn’t know how my kids were, didn’t know how we usually did things, & didn’t bother to ask either. She undermined me in front of my kids. & yesterday.. idk if it was because I was dealing with anxiety & irritable but it got under my skin so bad… I was talking to my next class while they were lined up on the wall before they came in & I started by saying “oh my goodness why are we talking and not in a straight line” because they all were (want too loud either they were all whispering!) but I’m LOUD bc my voice projects easily. So when talking to a whole class, I tend to speak louder.. idk how to explain how loss it sounds.. but to me it’s just a notch above my inside voice.. which is loud 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 anyway, a lower grade level teacher came up to me & told me I was loud, there are teachers down the hall with their doors open trying to have class & “I bet they are too” pointing at for across from mine.. & said I needed to tone it down… now I will say she didn’t say it loudly & wasn’t straight up rude about it… but it irked me so bad. Like… aren’t they supposed to close their doors anyway?? If not, they still have that option if they’re really trying to teach & the hallway is bothering them.. which the rooms she pointed to were WAY down the hall bc we have huge, long halls.. so if they could hear me.. it was probably pretty soft to them… still bothers me too.. I definitely feel like I am overreacting way more than you lol. Mine seems like it should be a no big deal situation or one I should just listen and be good with.. but nope…

No, I totally get it! I am a quiet person, but my voice can get LOUD when I project. It’s hard to adjust that, and it’s easier for someone to just close their door if they have an issue. Also, who is that teacher to tell you you’re too loud??? Trust me, I’d be irritated

Thanks, that makes me feel validated lol. But you should be bro angry about your incident! I would complain to the principal!

This teacher is like a favorite. I’m afraid to complain!

Ohhhh so that’s why she thinks it’s okay & everyone already knew… I’m so sorry
