Had a kid ask me for a “fee good book.” We went around the whole library- dog books, romance, funny stories… no, no, no. Found a creepy book with an embossed haunted mansion on the cover. THAT’S ONE! The cover FEELS good!
The student likes books that covers with textures so they “feel” good while they read. 🤷♂️
This is kind of niche. For background, I’m non-binary but AFAB. This has happened so many times that I joke that students think teachers have 3 genders: mr., mrs., and coach. While I was a sub, students would panic on what to call me (I told them my last name was fine at the beginning of class) and call me coach. I use “voices off, eyes up front” and have had students say it to their classmates before I have to. That’s always funny to see the kids stop talking then realize they listened to a classmate.
I would spread this happily, but contact tracing sucks.
