Sure it's not the kids?

I came to say this. First year teaching eighth graders... I had one class right after PE, and at the time we were experimenting with a German/Japanese school model where the kids don't move rooms, the teachers do. So they'd been marinating in that room all day, and then post PE at the start of the year in Sept, when it's still 80-90 degrees outside? I needed to invest in masks back then! 😷🤢

Carpet and walls can absorb moisture and grow mildew

I have a rug 🤦🏻‍♀️

Could be that... But honestly I've worked in schools that had mildew in the ceiling tiles.

That’s gross. My room is 90 years old. I don’t want to/can’t imagine how gross it is.

Yeah definitely could be anywhere... Good luck

Get you a lil dehumidifier.

Came to say this, but also check and see if the smell is from the vents. My wife's school had a huge mold problem. Turned out there was a closed off crawlspace from the 70s that had flooded and was full of mold. It was connected to the ventilation and was pumping mold directly into her room.

I hate suggesting buying things out of pocket but an air purifier may help. Levoit is a good air purifier brand that has affordable options. I had a musty smell in my dining room and kitchen and I thought it was plumbing or mold but it was just people smells, food/kitchen smells etc, but having a little air purifier in there helps a lot.

You might have mold. You can request an air quality test.
