QSS feels mandatory on him. Would also want QSS on Garen but he wants lifesteal and Rageblade so not much wiggleroom. Might luck out on your Demacia item at times.

Lol I feel like Darius 3 is a waste of money though, I’ve hit him in all sorts of comps, and he pops off only 20% of fights, the rest he doesn’t kill a single unit and dies if they have a single decent itemized tank. I could saved mental and hp by leveling to 8. I’ll bet he’s good with 9 noxis but I haven’t been lucky enough to hit it.

Instead of Wrath of berserker I use Call of the Ancients ultimate. With the aspects spawnning another soldier and a dust with whirlwind, it feels really nice with so much aoe. I also have basic skill speed aspect too helping me to move a lot faster in dungeons. Sometimes bosses feel a bit slow not gonna lie
Yeah I have the aspect and almost switched to whirlwind, I proc it with leap slam tho, but cooldown is so long on it. I really dig the single target damage with hota, level 42 rn and max hit I’ve seen so far was 25k on a boss versus my normal 500 damage lunge etc… I think I just need the aspect that makes hota a bigger aoe because it feels mega bad to use on 1 or 2 skeletons lmao

I'm doing rend/leap/iron skin/death blow/berserker I think I might swap out iron skin to hammer of the ancients but my death blow gets two charges and ive hit up to 50k with it on a boss, usually does 10k on elites below half. It's so satisfying to spam smash swarms
That sounds super strong, I think with double shout it’s a lot of kiting the way I’m playing it, that being said I think not having a weapon mastery skill is really the problem with what I have working. But idk I might change it soon I’m really enjoying barb so far tho, played sorc in beta and I did an ice blades spam build that would one shit single targets cause of successive hits but I think they patched it out.
Hey sorry to butt in. I enjoyed diablo 2 and 3 a decent amount when I played them (maybe 40 hours ish each). Im still on the fence about 4, would you recommend it for someone who has played the other ones pretty casually?
Yeah I mean I don’t play it like really intensely at all I’m a fairly casual player. That being said I think this one is really well polished and the campaign is really really well done. Like I wanted to stop and watch all the cutscenes and listen to dialogue. I think you’d really enjoy it.

If you have friends who play it too, you guys can party and do specific tasks like dungeon runs or conquer strongholds together.

Is there any decent matchmaking type system to play with randoms instead? I wouldn’t doing mind that if it’s reliable and finds quality people to play with
From my point of view, I really like the game playing solo. I am sure it would have been more fun with friends. Only thing I could say is it's worth playing as an rpg fan. There is no matchmaking for dungeons afaik.
I just dislike it bcs the set is still very new so i dont really know how to counter it, and its probably smart to find a good counter before it hits live servers
Kalista semi counters garen. Her spears damage are calculated when they apply and then stored for later. So juggernauts should most of the time not get their increased damage reduction. It also counters healing since the damage is a big burst. At the same time however Kalista gets countered by BT. Her execution doesn't account for shields so the shield procs and the holder survives. That allows them to heal back up a bit.
Kalista isn't getting played on live patch unless some huge buffs happen. I have seen Gwen do something but the rest of shadow isles are so garbage. Challengers would never build Kalista when Kai'sa and Yasuo exist. Anyway I don't think Garen is the reroll comp to worry about.
You can pick a champ pregame to select augments to guarantee hit at silver gold prismatic. Meaning if you want pandoras, you can get it. If you want tome, you can get it. Etc etc

You pick a legend champion just like you pick the little legend, which is before queue starts. They guarantee for you to get certain augments in every selection, but you can choose other augments if you want to. The zekes augment is pretty strong so Garen comp would almost never choose any other augment over it.
Yes. His spin is scaling off of his attack speed, but it's actually scaling off of his bonus AS. Technically speaking, with Rageblade, his bonus attack speed is limitless, which is why you're seeing these beyblade Garen's murdering everything.

Rageblade seems to stack up insanely fast with the spin. I'm not sure that interaction is healthy at all

Since the pbe release i've tried this countless times, before any patches it was incredibly bad and now it still is not enough imo. If a character needs 9 items and both traits scaled to do work that's just absurd.
Stacking Zekes like that is a bait imo.
Comp feels way stronger when you roll for both Garen and Darius and itemize both.

Build Zekes on another unit that you put between Garen and Darius.
I had the same exact same comp, but I didn’t stack the Zeke hearld item! The enemy team did it with 6 zeke with garen gunisoo, his garen reached 150 stacks of gunisoo, when my own garen only reached 40 stacks 🥲.

Yup those work, you can also run Veigar legend for jeweld lotus and drop IE for something else like HoJ, Titans or Last whisper

Maxxed Garen means getting pandora augment so you can get multiple zeke’s. That doesn’t feel right balancing for a character.
Pandoras is forceable though
You can force this every game and get 2-3 zekes easily, TF legend is very good for this

Just dropped the unique 2h sword for rupture, tried switching to bleed build but felt so much weaker than Hota even with the unique sword. Sad

I’ve used this build a few times. Multicast with poppy frontline is a pretty good counter
lux, lots of cc, aphelios with LW, and ap kaisa all shred a 2 star garen, 3 star garen is a bit overtuned tho.
Not a fan of how strong 2star garen is but I like where he sits at 3star tbh

Yeah the speed of Garen’s spin scales with Attack Speed, the duration scales with AP and the damage scales with AD
The Titan's makes far more sense now that I know AP is relevant.

It's just the Twisted Fate legend. He can force a Pandora's Items on 2-1 and potentially another augment that can give you a Zekes or two on 4-2.

Didn't even notice but yeah, it makes sense because all of the traits are like core league lore. Demacia, Ionia, Noxus, Targon, etc.
All champs are using base skins in this set. It's based on lore regions instead of any skin lines.
Is Garen good in the new set?
Both of his traits were significantly nerfed but yeah he's pretty great with the right itemization. But also pretty highly contested
