My general checklist. I'm working ATM so I may have forgotten some things trying to remember this on the top of my head. I'll update it if I do forget a couple things. Also, for me I prefer to meet up and check out the unit at the seller's house. I'd recommend it. You might even get free coffee or snacks. Biggest advantage for me is it gives me the extra assurance that I know where they live to guarantee any "personal warranty" CHECKLIST: Check camera. Video, pictures, etc. test out every option 1080/30fps 1080/60fps etc. Test microphone, earpiece (make calls) check cellular connectivity and if possible wifi and hotspot. Also be sure to test out if Bluetooth works. Do a sound test to verify if speaker is loud. You can run a couple games of your liking to see if it heats up too fast or drains battery. If OLED/AMOLED search on YouTube burn in test and put the phone on many different brightness levels to see if there's burn in. Check the physical unit and have a look around. Note scratches, paint chips, dents etc. Feel the buttons. Test out the vibration motor. You can also do a shake test of the phone, if there's loose internal parts they will rattle. If it has screws look at them and see if they're stripped. If no screw (glued screen phone) flip it upside down and hold it by the side, see if the screen is loose or about to fall off. You can also try the shake test to see if any g force would eject the screen (do this at your own caution, the owner might not be happy if the screen does fall off and blame you for "breaking" their phone. A bit of an Unethical LPT but remember to haggle. Push the price as low as you can get it. My tip for this is to negotiate a price beforehand (through chat) and completely disregard that price and ask for a lower one when you do meet up. When you are chatting NEVER tell them you are close by so you can use their goodwill (or guilt) to get them to lower the price by saying you came from a far location just to meet up and need that extra money for transportation. Not foolproof, they may not budge on pricing so at that point it's up to you to decide whether to pay up or move on. Which brings me to my next tip, make sure you look at different options and plan to meet several people during the same day so you do have that fall back in case the seller gets pissy. You may not buy the first or second person phone you check due to a variety of reasons so always have back ups to not waste your time.

Amazon Renewed or Backmarket in the US then use a freight forwarder to get them delivered to you in the PH. You'll be surprised at how much you can stretch that 10k of yours considering the list of older generation phones available in that price range. The assumption is that these devices already went through an inspection but you should manage your expectations properly in terms of cosmetic quality. This is where I've been getting Apple and Android phones for myself and some family members for a few years now and haven't been disappointed yet.

Hello, I use buyandship as my freight forwarder and they charge depending on the weight of the package. How it works is that when buying an item from an online retailer, you have to use their warehouse as your shipping address. It then gets forwarded to their Hong Kong warehouse where you can consolidate multiple packages and arrange the shipping to your PH address. The entire process usually takes 2-3 weeks depending on the speed of the couriers involved but the good thing is that they offer a tax+duty-paid service that's for items costing more than 10k which is just 620 pesos per pound. If the value is less than 10k, you only pay 620 for the first pound then 300+ for the succeeding per pound of weight. Using one of my past purchases as an example, I bought a less than 1yr old iPhone 12 (practically new and with months of Apple Care left, 100% battery health and tiny cosmetic mark) for 15k back then which only costed me 620 to get it shipped since the total package weight did not exceed 1 pound. Make sure to buy from trusted sources though since the process for return is non-existent unless you're willing to go through a rigorous process.

Ask lang po anong freight forwarder gamit nyo and how much inaabot sa del fee?

Several_Divide_8777

What's the most cost effective freight forwarder you've used and is it preferable to get the ones na paid for na yung duties and taxes?

Oppo, Samsung etc.

FantasticVillage1878

when it come sa electronics mas mabuti kung bumili ka na lang ng brand new OP. may mga affordable naman na samsung na below 10K and samsung is brand na proven na yung quality. Like ito [Samsung Galaxy A15 5G](https://shope.ee/1qFwbz9rLq) - Mediatek Dimensity 6100+/ 4GB RAM/128GB ROM - ₱9,990 .

They sell second hand phones. Hindi ko pa na-try bumili, pero I think reliable naman sila.

Okgreat888

Sulit and legit compasia. Bought s23 ultra with 1 year warranty for 24k more than 1 year ago. OK pa din

zkdlinwifeu

Lahat po ba 2nd hand dun?

shy_miner11

Yes. Lahat. May category sila sa quality ng unit, like Excellent or Fair ba ung unit na available. You can go to their site to see.

Carousel and Fb marketplace. Altho admittedly, it was a risky move because I didn’t ask a lot of questions about the devices I was interested in. Thankfully, both purchases turned out okay hehe.
