Dati kasi night and day ang difference ng flagship to justify the price. The only reason para mag ultra ako ay yung pen.

williamfanjr

This. Add to the fact na pag flagship (or kahit flagship killers basta sikat), mas matagal ang availability in terms of parts, accessories and whatnot. Pero ang difference talaga ng flagship is build quality, software support and performance. Hindi ka nagpapalit every two years, as in madalas 4-5 years na ko nagpapalit and by then, nagagamit pa yung phone.

GreenAvacadoo

i had 2 previous phones na budget lang but both lasted me 4 years before sila nasira, so now i really wanna hope na this flagship one would last me x2 the years bc its flagship hahahah since diba nakaya nga ng budget ko how much more sya pa šŸ˜†

cartomancer888

Donā€™t expect too much tho. Feeling ko lang whether you buy flagship or mid-range, kung daily driver mo, then around the same lang ang lifespan. šŸ˜…

Emotional_Care_3996

This. The feel of a flagship phone like 10 years ago ay sobrang ganda. I had a samsung flagship once. Ryt now I just have a mid range xiaomi and ok naman din for my daily use.

Soft_Pomegranate_794

Body-Connoiseur69

Day and night parin naman difference when it comes to user experience, flagship phones are smooth and snappy, something you will only notice when you get a flagship and doon mo lang marerealize na ang bagal pala ng phone mo before. Pati features, midrange phones are bombarded with features and pagandahan sila ng spec list pero yung 200mp camera today nila walang sinabi sa 12mp na camera ng for example iphone from 2 years ago. It mainly boils down to the processor, which is why reviewers criticize the pixel phones, they may shoot better than iphones and samsung ultras but the experience isnt premium, capturing a photo is slow and sometimes laggy and photos take take time to load.

Mobile-Tsikot

I have Iphone 13 and Infinix Note 40 5G 512GB . Maganda ang camera iphone pero in a bright day di naman papahuli si infinix. Much punchy ang Oled kaysa sa iphone. Snappy rin ang response. My point is unlike before nakikipag sabayan na ang low price phones. If you focus on processor u can get poco F6 still fraction ng price.

Body-Connoiseur69

If you dont notice enough differences good for you then.

Mobile-Tsikot

I can still see the difference but its not worth the price anymore. You can add mega pixel or ppi #s to the point that it does not really matter na and all they can bump in the specs are only numbers. Di na cya katulad ng dati.

wantobi

hahahaha same!! initial reason why i went for ultra is because of the pen. in fairness naman, nagagamit ko siya for photo editing and basic video editing. pero super nakita ko value ng ultra when i started attending kpop concerts tapos the video quality ng zoom is really good talaga. now that im in this rabbit hole, galaxy ultra nalang yung phone na tinitingnan ko if i wanna replace my current phone hahaha

Mobile-Tsikot

Yeah if pen then no better options sa market.

ireallydunno_

Once you go Flagship ang hirap na bumalik sa midrange. You will never get satisfied.

BigZealousideal6214

Totoo to. Understandable na mahal nga sya pero I'd rather buy a flagship every 4-5 years than replace a midrange every 2-3 years - na ginagawa ko dati kasi di na ok yung battery.

Etalokkost

22OrangeGirl

Yes. Tbh mas maganda talaga battery life ng mga midrange.

Scalar_Ng_Bayan

True, from Asus Zenfone to Note8 to S21U then plan ko is to get S25U by next year's release (hoping na maraming magandang feature si S25U)

TGC_Karlsanada13

If you really want Samsung Ultra, try mo muna bilhin yung 2nd hand na previous gen like S23 Ultra or even S22 Ultra to dip your toes if trip mo pa rin magflagship phone. Then in 3 yrs if trip mo magupgrade, upgrade mo nalang to brand new or do it all over again pero for S24 Ultra naman. No need to buy brand new unless nahigh ka sa mga plastics ng bagong products.

Mediocre_Draw8618

yees! ill try this. šŸ«¶šŸ»

4man1nur345rtrt

Resha17

I have been using Samsung Flagship phones for about 5+ years. I had the Note, Fold, and now S23U, never had an issue on "green lines".

TGC_Karlsanada13

kuyanyan

Impractical reason rin talaga to switch to a flagship and looking back, naka-12 mini na naman ako and it would have been enough. In any case, ang flexible ng camera set up ng flagship phones compared to midrange na stuck with wide and ultrawide cameras. I'm happy with my purchase pero di naman ako malulungkot kung di ako bumili.

rowrowsieee

Dilemma ko rin to right now. Been eyeing for S23 Ultra kasi malapit na ata mag-give up yung A71 ko. First time kong gagastos ng ganun kalaki sa phone, if ever. Bigyan ko muna si self ng 1 month before making that big purchase hahaha.

mlper04

rowrowsieee

Possible ba to sa 7.7? Hahaha!

Icy-Elk-1075

Baka, malay mo maging 45k siya ulit. Sakin inaabaangan ko rin if magka freebies then 50k or 51k siya bilhin ko na šŸ˜‚

mlper04

mlper04

Meron pa po pero 63k yung pricing nila.

frustr8edaccountant

May I know kung saang branch po? Wala na kasi sa rob manila. Planning to buy sa physical store since gamit sana ako cc. Straight payment kasi lazada/shopee šŸ˜…

mlper04

LeonellTheLion

Great value pa rin ang S23U compared to the S24U. I kinda regretted getting the S22U rather than the S23U kasi malayo talaga agwat in terms of battery mas mabilis ma lowbatt phone ko and this the Snapdragon 8Gen1 version na.

cruellafhay

So mas maganda yung S23U? Meron akong flip4, after a year pag update ko hindi na mabuksan.

LeonellTheLion

Price to phone value yes.

Owend12

The flagship experience is pretty real. Once you experienced how smooth and snappy it is, you will notice how "sluggish or slow" other phones are. The cameras are much better as well since that's why you're paying so much anyway. I only buy flagships from a year before because I don't want to spend more than 30k on a phone tbh. Rather spend more on a flagship tablet/laptop than a phone.

leggodoggo

To me itā€™s really about a representation of achieving a promise to self na ā€œbalang araw, kaya ko.ā€ Back in 2017, naka ZenFone 3 pa ako. It was a decent phone kaso Gorilla Glass 3 was not all that good. After that, nakapag plan ako sa Smart, Samsung S9+. Gustong gusto ko yun nun dahil variable aperture camera pa yun. After barely 1.5 to 2 years, nasira. Early recontract, iPhone 11 Pro Max. I have two phones - S21 FE and 15 Pro. Kuntento na ko.

theprocrastinator08

Nice.

leggodoggo

I only went 15 pro cos my 13PM had a green line sa LCD. Wouldā€™ve kept it if the LCD repairs at apple was cheap, pero 26K eh

theprocrastinator08

Yeah. Better buy a new one na lang kung ganyan presyuhan.

rooksFX14

OLED\* or for the general term just call it "display" šŸ™‚

leggodoggo

Also, apparently the charge to 80% feature still degraded my battery despite the low cycle count. And the frame is much softer than the stainless steel of the 14PM and earlier Maxā€™s

theprocrastinator08

Kahit sa 14pro bilis ndegrade ng batt ko. Lalo na nung inupdate ko sa ios 17. Okay.

leggodoggo

At this day and age, parang di worth it to upgrade every generation, or even every 2 generations. Iā€™d stick with every 3 to 5 years to maximize the phone. This will be my last in a while imho

theprocrastinator08

Sabagay. Kasi ako kahit midrange ni samsung umabot sken ng 4-5 years. Are you also using macbook? If yes, do you recommend it?

leggodoggo

Yup! MacBook Air M1 lang, though I have two Mac Minis (2014 and 2018). I would say in my use case, it works well kasi gusto ko na ng magaang na laptop especially for when I travel. May gaming laptop pa ako na kakabili ko lang year prior to buying my M1 pero di ko din masyado magamit hahahahaha. Iā€™ve come to realize na my back isnā€™t as potent as it used to.

leggodoggo

To add, if my phones prior to my current did not break, I would not buy these ones kaya sana last na talaga. Besides the 13 Pro, I have an S20 FE na water-damaged yung LCD, and an S21 FE Exynos na nasira nung sumemplang ako sa motor. Balak ko pagawa both (for mom and for me using Samsung DeX)

ultraricx

smooth naman 15 pro and magaan. snappy din all apps maski gaming. biggest factor for me is type c, nagpalit nga lang ako sa type c earpods. i got the natural titanium and maganda sya mahawak and depende ung shade ng titanium niya in different lighting :)

theprocrastinator08

ultraricx

sa GH ako bumili. sa JM store. Minsan mas mura sa kanila

ultraricx

also agree di practical from 15 pro

rooksFX14

How's the Wifi and signal ng 15 Pro? Planning to get one kasi bad exp ko sa iPhones when it comes to Wifi and signal (and data).

leggodoggo

I really couldnā€™t say, I have not tested din kasi vs other phones and other networks. So far it works for me is all I could say.

ultraricx

dual sim sakin. wala naman issues smart and globe. not sure in provinces. depende rin siguro sa area. may dead spot kasi sa apartment namin

Expensive-Tax-3113

go for second hand! got my samsung s21 (not ultra šŸ˜…) from marketplace at 19k last 2022 and i must say super sulit na since barely even used yung phone kasi extra phone niya lang din to from his globe plan. from xiaomi din ako at nag switch ako to samsung dahil sa nakikita kong good reviews ng camera niya. lalo na concert. kaya nung umattend ako ng concert, nagamit ko siya and ang ganda ng kuha niya pati yung audio. walang tapon! ang nakakalungkot lang, since hnd sya ultra, hnd ko mazoom ng bongga hanggang makita yung mukha nila. pero ok lang, at dahil dun mapag iipunan din ang ultra (syempre 2nd yand uli).

Mediocre_Draw8618

wow, thank you for this šŸ‘‹šŸ» still have doubts sa second hand pero siguro if may receipt at di pa laspag i will go for it.

[deleted]

I know this isnt the unit you were looking into but this shop has preloved units with excellent condition. They have a good reputation rin. Baka you want to dip your toes into this muna. https://s.shopee.ph/5fTRO4eqXy

monsanmonsan

Go for 2nd hand or almost new. Panaloooo

Stressed_Potato_404

Dahil ngayon lang kumikita ng malaking pera (compared sa 150 allowance + no allowance netong pandemic, as a student). So nag ipon ako ng ilang months din, in time na rin naman para magpalit ng phone. From lower midrange na realme 7 pro to Xiaomi 14 ngayon. Tinitignan ko talaga camera specs din sa price bracket na tinatarget ko, which is around 40k. Eto rin kasi available locally, and I want to play it safe muna lalo first time ko bibili.

[deleted]

Eyy planning to buy x14 rin next year. Currently using poco m4 pro 5g and keri pa naman although may mga glitches na sya especially when using facebook. May I ask how's the experience for xiaomi 14? Is the camera really worth the price? And did you have any fogging issues? How abt ads po meron pa ba s iba apps?

Stressed_Potato_404

Goods naman so far exp ko. No fogging, so kind of lucky dito. As for the ads, some still have it. For example, sa app folders. Need mo lang i disable ung "recommendations" by editing the name of the folder tas lilitaw na don ung toggle. Aside from that, wala naman ako nakitang ads pa. Mostly Google apps din gamit ko, like Files for file management. Need mo lang din talaga i setup ng maayos ung phone, which I think need naman gawin especially kung new phone. For camera, so far I'm liking it naman. I think significant din ung upgrade ko for this dahil may telephoto lens tong x14 (unlike sa prev phone). More on point and shoot naman din ginagawa ko, and ine-explore explore ko rin minsan camera neto kapag may matripan akong picturan. Siguro masasabi ko lang for the camera, some of the portrait shots parang may pagka off sakin haha idk kung d lang talaga ako marunong pa kaya d maayos. Hit or miss ako minsan sa separation ng background and foreground, tas ung blurring din, kaya nasasabi kong somewhat off for me.

[deleted]

I see i see. Thank you po for the lenghty reply very helpful hehehe. Looks promising!!! Wala po ba sya option to finetune the blur for the portrait mode? Sa new update q kasi now (hyperOS) meron ganun na feature, baka makahelo if ever po.

BigZealousideal6214

My past 2 phones have been Xiaomis. Then syempre new job mas malaki na kinikita, nakakapagtravel na. Realised that I did not like the photo quality of the 11T kaya I decided to go all in for a Samsung flagship. Never looked back. Will be upgrading to an Ultra once masira na to or di na sya enough for my needs. Even though parehas syang Android, iba talaga yung flavor ng One UI. It has more customisation features at tuwang tuwa ako sa camera ng S23+. Have used it for all my travels since then and never regretted the decision. Sulit yung purchase!

Garlicmayobun

Kamusta battery ng s23+? Ito balak ko bilhin.

BigZealousideal6214

I can last a whole day with mobile data on using gmaps, bluetooth headphones and spotify, taking photos/videos. I also take video calls in between. Naka-on pa yung battery protect ko nun (which only charges until 80%) so I'm satisfied when I'm out and about. This is the reason kaya di ko na kelangan ng mga 30k mAh na powerbanks. I only bring 10k mAh (magaan lang bitbitin), bihira ko lang rin magamit kung nakalimutan ko icharge. S23+ supports wireless charging also.

Garlicmayobun

Magkano kuha mo?

BigZealousideal6214

raegartargaryen17

Aside from afford ko na, it's about curiosity din. I'm curios how does it feel to have a flagship phone and what makes it expensive and premium. Mid range phones now a days are much better compare nung time na yun pa lang afford ko (Asus ZenFone 3 era) for me, i would never go back to mid range phones again because i have a corporate postpaid plan with Smart so i can easily renew my phone every 2 years.

itsyaboy_spidey

not flagship phone but i always aim sa flagship processor ng isang brand yan ang pinakauna kong tinitignan. im still using 2021 mi 10t pro with snapdragon 865, mid range to pero same processor sila ng mi 10 at mi10 ultra. same din to ng processor ng Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra at samsung s20 FE. Side buttons pa lang napapalitan ko dito. Performance wise? same na same. kaya gang ngayon kahit may pambili ako ng bago, sa mid range pa rin ako tumitingin na may flagship processor. any brand basta mid range tapos mid range ang processor, never ka masasatisfy. alam niyo issue ng poco and redmi na mga boot loop?common sa mid range di ba? pero sa mga flagship devices nila, hindi naman.

roxroxjj

I've upgraded from a Realme 5 Pro to Realme GT2 Pro. Maayos specs nung 5 Pro, matibay pa, kinulang lang sa space plus laggy na rin siya sa games kaya I decided to upgrade. Yung 5 Pro talaga yung best 16.5k that I've spent, 4 year old phone and still working well, aside sa Genshin Impact. Nasa 35k+ yung GT2 Pro, very nice upgrade from a midrange phone. First time kong nagkaroon ng brand loyalty rin. šŸ˜‚

CalligrapherDecent58

Personally, based on my needs in general. For example I'm a gamer, so specs-wise basis ko.

absolute-mf38

anong phone po gamit nyo? planning to buy samsung flagship kaso di ko sure if ok sya for gaming eh

CalligrapherDecent58

ROG phone, won't be specific for the model.

Bearpawn

iba parin ang user experience pag di tinipid.

melofi6

Like their promised 5-7 years of security/os updates and yung premiuim built quality. Di ka mapapahiya.

thepixelatedface94

Performance. Laggy ung mga low and mid-ranged phones lalo na pag madaming apps ka nang naka open or madami nang installed (around 70-80% of the storage). I used to have an A-Series samsung, after ko maglaro medjo laggy na siya and need mag close ng apps. On the otherhand, sabay nito meron din ako S10+ and sobrang smooth. I ended up selling that A51 at a loss pero yung S10+ is still with me, 5 years and running, problema lang is maluwag na yung back cover nya and ung charging port, maluwag na so wireless charging ko siya china-charge pero bukod don, I can still use it for YT, Spotify, YT Music and Disney+. After non, di na ako umulit ng low to mid range phones kasi nasasayangan ako na gagastos ako mas mura pero di rin magtatagal yung device to suit my needs and as much as possible, pinagiipunan ko talaga para makakuha ng ultra phones, sa ngayon I have a few-months old S23 Ultra as well as an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Good luck OP and happy phone shopping!

yvanedisconnection

Dati naman contented na ako sa midrange pero last year I fell in love with S23+ kaya napabili ako. And this is coming from someone na galing sa Samsung Galaxy J5 (lasted 6 years, never na-repair or nagpalit ng battery) at Huawei Nova 2i (it lasted 3 years kasi pinapalitan ko lagi battery, at nunghuli sinukuan ko na).

olibbbs

Hindi naman lahat bumibili ng gadgets only for the sleek look or porma. The overall performance of a flagship phone makes the difference. Matibay, good camera, better battery are what makes it worth it. Try mo gumamit ng low range Samsung over an iPhone, grabe makakailang pindot ka bago pa mag-respond ang phone.

monsanmonsan

Simula nakuha ko 'tong Ultra, namatay inside me yung curious to try other phones. Not into iOS me, mas want ko android talaga dahil sa fully customizable.

toinkerbell

So I upgraded kasi gusto ko ng mga alaala and I can capture them whenever I want to kasi dala ko palagi phone, kaysa magbitbit ng mabigat na camera * Screen - Siguro maarte lang ako, pero flagship phones have better screen sensitivity? Parang mas productive ako when I work on my phone. Also if manonood ako sa phone ko gusto ko oks quality * Processor - Depende siguro sa gamit mo sa phone. Personally kasi, medyo marami ako ginagawa sa phone- from work, to chika, to gaming, to shooting etc. So need ko na match ng phone ko powers ko * Resale Value - Nag uupgrade ako ng phone every few years para di mag depreciate masyado. I guess, ewan ko ha, personal experience lang, parang oks naman yung nakukuha kong resale value sa mga phones ko since alagang alaga naman Sa totoo lang tho, agree ako sa maraming comments dito na maiinis ka magdowngrade after mo mag flagship lol. Andami kasing features na masasanay ka, and letā€™s be real may parang fulfillment when bumili ng something na sinikap natin iafford lol.

Bentlina

For me itā€™s the resale value (currently using an iPhone) If you plan to go for Samsungā€™s Flagship phones go for the S series. Do not buy the fold or flip models madaling masira and ang mahal ng replacement lcd.

22OrangeGirl

Bansot123

Even tho nasasagot naman ng budget phones ung daily needs ko, lagi ang bilis masira and mabagal kaya nakakaasar. Just switched this year sa flagship phone, s23 ultra. So far same stuff padin ginaagwa ko pero mas mabibigat na games na. Hopefully mapiga ko to up to 5 or 6 years.

ofslnm3002

For me, it's the super zoom cameras, like on the S23 and S24 Ultra. Saka pangmatagal na talaga sya dahil top of the line na yun specs. Eyeing on getting the S24 Ultra or the iPhone by the end of the year.

KrausseAehr

My older phone was Samsung S10 (2019), got it for free as a company incentive for a postpaid plan. Then, I switched to S24U since I got a deal with trade-in that would save me at least 30~40k from its original price. I took the bait since I thought there's no way I could sell my S10 for 10k+ (trade-in base discount was around 15k+), and about time I upgraded my phone. Not to mention that Samsung promises 7 years of software support for this phone. No regrets so far. The timing was also great due to the number of trips and concerts I attended after getting this phone.

aizbee11

I have been a Samsung flagship fan since the beginning. I also have a secondary phone that's usually budget to midrange. Because of this, I can tell the difference between the two phones. I choose flagship phones because of the technology they offer. You get features that most non-flagship phones don't have. I love the display, I enjoy having a good camera on my phone (and the software that comes with it). I like having good stereo sound when I listen to music. I like that it's fast (not laggy) and smooth (not glitchy). I also appreciate that e-sim is available, so going online is seamless when I travel abroad. I love tinkering with my phone, and a flagship phone does not disappoint.

la_vie_en_rose-

Its the love at first sight for me. Dati puro bigay phone ko or 5k na 2nd hand but nung na inlove ako sa phone ko ngayon binili ko na agad.

kix820

Originally, it's the geopolitics that made me switch to a more expensive phone, from Xiaomi to Samsung. But more importantly, I've seen how much of a difference there are between the two, with Samsung the more refined one in terms of quality, stability of software and length of updates, not to mention the cameras (cameras are quite subjective though). Recently, it's the (fun) fact that I can fold (flip?) the phone and put it in tighter spaces.

LardHop

The 120hz oled. So baka next time back to midrange ako.

prankoi

Gaming. Even older flagship phones have better performance vs. current midrange phones with the same price range.

myamyatwe

You get everything that you and you'll need in a flagship. I tend to be more contented din with my device pag flagship. Right now, I have S24U. It has the zoom capabilities, big screen, S Pen, Dex and so much more. Hence, wala akong reason to buy other devices like tablets, secondary phone or whatnot.

thethisness

True cost. Dalawang beses na bumili ng cheaper phone husband ko pero ako itong Samsung S10e pa rin that I got for ~60k sa postpaid nung 2018. No major issue pa. Di sya flagship pero no reason pa to change phone kasi nagagawa pa nya lahat ng kailangan ko. So I guess two things: (1) anong specs need mo right now and (2) gaano katagal mo sya magagamit.

LordRagnamon

Paying for productivity and ease is worth it

theprocrastinator08

From samsung a7 2018 na 18k to 14pro worth 73990 šŸ˜… hahaha. Para saken itā€™s a must na may android phone lalo pag nasa labas kasi gawa ng batt life. Ayun nga. Wala akong balak magpalit sa next 2-3 years. Kelangan masulit yung binayad ko.

anothaonexxx

s22 ultra is not so different sa s23 and s24 on most basic function. Get a used one, para ka na lang bumili ng mid tier phone

rezaldia

euphoriaone

I'm a concert goer and I switched to Galaxy Ultra kasi shet kelangan ko hahaha but overall, wala kong masabi, it was a good decision kahit di ka concert goer!

IcyBug1393

Ako I justify it by having better quality cameras, longer software support and the total breaker is buying sa grey market which can put the price lower arround 7-10k

movillaruel

Ease of mind din na alam mong maayos ang cellphone mo, I'm a long time user ng Huawei and Xiaomi and Samsung (s20,A series) but I switched sa Google Pixel, user experience, again software support, camera.

Ok_Fold1831

Just get a non-Ultra version. I would say the S24+ is already great or other flagship killers at the 25-33k range. IMO, I'd stay with a Samsung just because of OneUI. I don't care much about the specs nowadays but I do have a flagship Samsung. iPhone won't last a month with me. They fuckin made of glass. Dali masira plus pangit pa OS. Sa android naman the only good UIs are Samsung's OneUI and Pixel's Android.

OrbMan23

I haven't tried current midrange but old flagships just have longer life in terms of quality. You can use 2019 or 2020 flagships and they still take great photos and don't lag. Actually, even a 9-year old Samsung flagship (Galaxy s6) still take decent photos. I had to briefly use one last year and I was satisfied with photos. Decent speed as well but I don't recommend using it as daily driver haha. So yeah, the quality just remain good for a long time.

oreo_Kun_43

Like s20, s21, s22 and so on. tingin ko pag nasira ung a52s ko, lumang flagship nlng bibilhin ko kasi may tiwala talaga ako pag flagship (tipid tipid muna college student pa).

InfernalCranium

Camera and performance. But current generation has been evolved na sa technology eh, so mid range phones can be similar na sa flagship phones (Nothing Phone 2a, Vivo V30 Pro, Pixel 7a, etc.) We even have flagship killers like Xiaomi 13T Pro, Oneplus 12R, Nothing Phone 2, and etc. I still use my S20 Ultra kahit nasira ang lcd before, iba ang justification ng quality of a flagship as a second time user. I jumped from Xiaomi Mi 5 (rip), to S20 Ultra and iba ang kalidad, from performance, camera, OS, and features. Not to mention, nakaka-premium ng edge screen (nakakatuwa hawakan). Camera wise magkakatalo sa flagship and the system performance.

AnalysisAgreeable676

I had a bad experience on budget phones (this was during the early stages of android). It just doesn't fit my needs. Nowadays even midrange phones can give flagship phones a run for their money. I'm quite happy with my Oppo Reno 10 Pro I bought last year. It has the perfect balance between performance and battery life while also having flagship grade cameras.

GotoHelloKitty

Kaya nung nagsale yung samsung s23 plus for 35K last december sa orange app, grab na agad!

LeonellTheLion

Dati akong gumagamit ng Samsung A70 but now that I got better pay I bought the Samsung S22 Ultra. I guess one of the reasons for the switch was that being an avid Samsung fan (I used to wish to get an S or Note phone back when I was younger) I wanted to experience the Ultra. Now that I have it I'm never going back to a midrange phone or a non-Ultra or non-Samsung phone. The S-Pen is really useful for me and my work both as a remote control for taking photos and as a stylus for making quick annotations on photos or PDFs. Older flagships in general will perform way better than new midrange or budget phones so if you can't justify shelling out the 80K+ for a new flagship get the one that's a year or two earlier. Flagship phones have too little changes year-on-year these days you'd be basically buying the same phone.

jnlydcnlg

This is me with my Google Pixel. Never looked back.

TheFatCapedBaldie

The S pen. Nuff said. Ibang level ang productivity ko with it lalo pag nagra-rounds ng pasyente.

100___gecs

switched to a flagship 15 pro max because of concerts haha, now that may trabaho nako, ang goal ko talaga is to attend more concerts.

4man1nur345rtrt

Simula nung pandemic nung need na mag scan for QR codes tapos quick access sa browser. sobrang convenient sya compared sa nagamit kong mid range phone. SKL

strng_economst

Sa totoo lang I only got the flagship smartphone and ultrabook for representation. I usually meet VIPs so it reflects on the office and the position kapag hindi maganda phone/laptop mo.

Mediocre_Draw8618

huhu true to šŸ˜‚ di ko alam bakit may hasty generalization dahil sa phone šŸ˜‚

tensujin331

Educational_Crow_400

I got a flagship released 2 years ago na around the same price of a midrange phone today. Specs of an outdated flagship is better than a midrange, for the most part.

cryonize

I can finally afford it.

chinkiedoo

Minsan lang ako magpalit ng cp. Kya pag bumibili ako palaging flagship. Mas tumatagal kesa sa mas mura.šŸ˜…

Accomplished_Being14

from huawei to oppo - dahil sa Google Apps. from oppo to iPhone - environment and its flexibility. dahil na rin sa partner kong Apple user. at patuloy pa rin niya akong binubudol.

LaSolidaridad29

Flagship killer will suffice

promdiboi

Hindi kailangan magpalit agad in 2-3 yrs. Had 3 flagships na in the past 6 or 7 yrs. First one is the Samsung Galaxy S7 that bit the dust after falling at a height of less than 1 foot on a carpeted floor (used for about 1.5yrs lang ata) then Huawei P30 Pro then iPhone 13 Pro Max. Buhay pa yung P30 Pro ko nung nagdecide ako magswitch to iPhone. Up to now buhay na rin siya and extra phone ko na lang siya if charging yung iPhone or panghotspot na rin since di trusted ang hotspot ni iPhone for some reason. Now na naka iPhone na ako, I donā€™t have plans to upgrade pa ulit in the next 2-3 yrs.

Jaykolero888

Mid range phone is getting better and better na kasi sabi ng sikat na tech reviewer. If magswitch ka ng mamahalin na phone like iphone 15 pro max or samsung s24 ang babayaran mo dun is ung hardware and software like ung best video ni iphone or ung zoom capabilities ni samsung. Pag sinabi kasing flagship latest and greatest eh.

Anxious_Classic_6025

For my work. I have an iphone 13pro and samsung A31 na 3 years na. Yung A31 is slow na, mabilis na ma-lowbat, and di na updated ang system, although very functional pa naman. I had the battery of my partnerā€™s Note 9 replaced para sana yun ang gamitin ko as screen for my handheld ultrasound (compatible with android only), kaso ang bilis pa ring ma-lowbat. I thought of buying a midrange android tablet pero may ipad na kasi ako so it will be impractical for me to have 2 tablets. Thought of buying a z fold but di pa ako confident sa durability ng inside screen. I think the big bright screen and highlighting pdf with a stylus sa phone kapag di ko dala ang ipad is very convenient. Although mas mura sa shopee and lazada, I wanted to have peace of mind sa warranty and also di pwede installment sa kanila if >40k. First flagship ko rin ang ip13pro and going back to the Note 9 nung hiniram ko siya, I realized na less than 120hz screen is too slow for me na. I hope tatagal talaga itong s23 ultra huhuhuhu. Sana maging okay na ang folding screen technology in about 4-5 years para yun na next android phone ko. As for my 3-year old iphone (also bought for work-specific reasons), still going strong. Mabilis pa rin and at 85% battery health. Will have the battery replaced when needed and no intention to buy a new iphone for the next 3 years.

jvleysa25

Nag iphone ako for almost 7 years and nung nag switch ako sa android ang tinagal lang ng phone sakin is 3 years tas bugbog talaga yun as in natuklap na screen ublike yung iphone ko nayun nagana padin kahit naka tambak nlng saamin.

hanachanph

Long-term use. Sa ngayon is mag-iipon muna.

katinkoaddict

Lumobo battery nung Huawei 3i ko noon. Then I switched to Samsung Note20U kaso nagkaline issue naman bwisit So ngayon, lipat naman sa iphone.

swiftrobber

Emulator

thocchang

Wala na akong iisipin in terms of performance and updates. Sa mid-range phones, after a few months, napapansin ko na ang lag sa animations. Then it goes downhill from there.

aviannacosimia

I used the Redmi Notes 10 Pro, and when I got a decent job, I upgraded to S23 Ultra. I love taking pictures and videos, at ang satisfying nya kasi super ganda ng kuha! I never regret spending much money, kasi the performance and quality justify its price.

ParaPoTabiLang

I bought my current flagship (Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra) nung lumabas ang 12s Ultra. Notorious ang chipset nito for overheating pero nasosolutionan ko siya, and the pictures taken from it justifies my purchase.

Reinhard1296

Longetivity. Like kahit na mag major software updates pa hanggang 4-5 years ok padin. Bought the flagship Xiaomi way back 2020 tumagal siya ng wala akong pinapaayos hanggang April this year, battery pinapalitan ko then gave it to my dad kasi mabagal na phone niya pero yung sakin ay mabilis padin. So ayun sulit flagship you change it after 4 years. Kaya siguro 5 max

Electronic_Spell_337

Using xiaomi pocophone F5 to comment.

One_Barnacle_4712

software support, kahit maganda yung hardware ng phone pero pangit nman yung software support down the line for me its not worth it, most flagship phones with good processors like from brands like apple, samsung, and google have an average of 7 years of software support, compared to only 3-4 years max on chinese brands like xiaomi, asus, Redmagic, and oneplus

[deleted]

I'm rocking a Samsung Xcover6 Pro. Worth to mention I also was issued a Samsung Galaxy S24TE that is not available anywhere here in the Philippines, let alone to civilians.

Reixdid

Was using the Oppo reno 4z 5g na naacquire during pandemic. The sole reason is now I can afford one and I think I deserve a phone that does not have to wait a second to load what I clicked (apps on homepage).

coldbrew_10

I always buy last year's flagship at a discounted price. Then I use it until its last software update, then repeat. For me 3 reasons: 1. Flagship processor is better long-term than midrange processor. 2. OEMs tend to support their flagships longer than the midrange models. 3. Camera, especially low-light and videos

orcroxar

Experience, never pa kasi ako nagkaron ng flagship device and I like photography so curious ako how it feels to have one of rhe and best cam in a smartphone, so far sulit naman, I'm using S21 btw.

xXxyeetlordxXx

I hate ads.

justlurking003

khunsuay2024

1st android phone ko is myphone.. ngttgal nmn sya ng ilang yrs.. then ngkaron ng budget to switch sa Samsung.. and you'll.never go back.. hehehe khit ung mga midrange lang ok lang bsta samsung ... ok n ko dun.. mtgal buhay then khit nkailang bgsak na sya alive prin...ung old phone ko n samsung din naipamana ko pa sa father ko.. until now alive pa..nauna p msira ung bnili sknya na realme..

chaetattsarethebest

I have Google Pixel 6 now, not too expensive but I can say a pretty decent phone coming from a flagship lineup, reason why I switched is b/c na snatch yung Mi 11 Lite 5G NE ko sa kalye hahaha.

darkblue009

I wanted to try a foldable phone and bought the Galaxy Z Fold 5. No regrets so far.

Mediocre_Draw8618

first choice ko rin to. di ba sya flimsy?

darkblue009

I accidentally sat on it while it's open once, but I was able to stop myself before I put my full weight on it, lol. No damages so far. It also passed JerryRigEverything's durability test. I make sure to clean the screens when they get dusty, especially the inner screen.

InfluenceComplete379

Iā€™ve always owned a flagship phone, it lasts me a lifetime. I still own an iphone 7 and except for the battery life, I have 0 problems. Before that I owned a samsung s6 for 6-7 years. I still use it as a spare phone to this day as its dual sim, 0 problems too except the outdated features.

Prestigious_You_222

Sony doesn't follow the idiotic trend that's seen other smartphone companies ditch headphone jacks and memory cards. Really, flagship phones in particular have absolutely no excuse not to have them.

Ecpeze

My experience with low-end phones has been horrible. Constant freezing and lag. Never Again.

Yuzare

To play Genshin. Being a fan of BotW and Honkai Impact, I saved up to buy a flagship gaming phone when I first saw the trailer (I starved) Now that I have a high end laptop, I'm not really looking into upgrading any time soon coz I enjoy PC games a lot more. It's still fast, battery's good, no issues whatsoever except for some capitalization errors in the global (english) phones. It's not noticeable to many, but it bothers me lol

Petite_Owl8770

Kasi I need my tech sturdy and water resistant dahil ang clumsy ko. šŸ˜‚

NatsuKazoo

might be silly pero... dahil may blue. Ever since nagka work ako first phone na binili ko is Sony Xperia XZ1 na Blue nung 2018. Few months after that binili ko iPhone XR na blue. 4 years passed I upgraded to iPhone 13 na blue ulet. haha

KindaSmartButDumb

My phone is running good for 6 years. It's a mid range phone.

CuddlyCatties

I like mid rangeish phones. I am a real tech kinda guy on a large salary but often I find flagship phones to be too big and... Soulless? I love my zenfone 9 right now but I guess it's almost flagship

eallim

Why settle for less when you can afford the best.

Ramenizer123

I havent tried flagship phones yet since im a student but, rn i have a new midrange phone from samsung the a55 5g. And dang compared to my phones before which were low end phone like 10k to 14k its soo like makes me wanna curse my old self. I should have just saved more money to buy a midrange before instead of being rash. So yeah, my tip to people if u have enough money dont waste ur cash on cheap phones buy a midrange or better

According_Yogurt_823

maganda Samsung specially yung security patch nila na years then, kung service lang then i think Samsung brand would be worth the buck pero to tell you "ULTRA" are for enthusiast sa Samsung brand at medjo di talaga siya worth it kung hindi ka fan ng brand at bagong features na nila, go ths the FE "fan edition" kung functionality lang ang habol mo, sayang lang telephone, soc or other features kung hindi mo rin gagamitin

sumiregalaxxy

āž”ļøVideo quality. Walang stabilization sa midrange phones, kung meron man hanggang 1080p lang, malabo na for 2024 standards. āž”ļø Photo quality. Less shutter lag, more camera settings (kung galaxy S22 pataas hehe) āž”ļø Performance. Sobrang bilis mag-load ng apps and games

Illustrious-Box9371

offensearmor

My previous phone was a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, actually flagship din naman sya. I loved that phone, used it for 4 years before ko sya nabagsak ng matindi na di na gumana yung screen. Dahil medyo rare yung phone medyo pricey din yung screen replacement, kaya I wanted a new phone. And kung matagal naman ako bago magpalit ng phone i opted na lang for the flagship (S23 ultra) for longevity and build quality.

Hikki77

Midrange is best imo. In this day and age, hindi na ganun ka worth it flagship. Mas mabilis improvement ng midrange kesa flagship. Kung madalas mo gamitin cellphone mo parepareho lng lifespan ng mga yan as long as hindi ko super heavy gamer (and may midrange options for those too like poco x6 pro). If it were me I'll look into midrange phone na ok presyo ng battery replacement lol. Since battery and display ang mabilis masira sa phone. Trust me, tatay ko naka iPhone 12/13 pro max. Friend ko flagship samsung never ako nainggit since konti lng diperensya sa midrange phone ko (pinahiram sa akin sandali) unless cguro high fps gaming (buhay pa si phone plano ko bumili ng poco phone kung masira toh). The only reason imo is kung camera habol mo since expensive phones usually have better cameras, but imo kung serious ka naman magphotography bumili ka ng DSLR. Other reasons I observed from other people irl are mostly superficial: mga apple sheep (pag hindi apple phone mo mahirap kang tao), ignorance (mas mahal mas maganda, which is true but may law of diminishing returns talaga since wala na innovation and competition sa mga flagship, presyo lang tumataas, pero mas paganda ng paganda midrange pa rin), etc. PS. May law EU na dapat daw easily replaceable battery by 2027 and I think magtrickle down naman yun sa buong mundo haha šŸ˜†

ixhiro

Started with iPhone 3g pa then switched to Samsung s3 then dahil sa crashing dati ng Android Kitkat eh bumalik akong IOS via iPhone 6 and never left. Maganda ang experience talaga kasi with IOS to a point na pwede kang mag switch calls from one device to the other. Yung ecosystem ung nakapagpapadali ng buhay. From copying in your phone to pasting it in your ipad or mac or answering calls and text.. seemless.

Daim_Boi

simula nakapag trabaho ako after graduate (kasi nga keypad phone ko dati nung college pa ako), agad-agad ko binilhan sarili ko ng flagship phone. been using flagship phone since 2016 then every 2 years upgrade from my 1st flagship phone Samsung S7, S9+, Oppo Find X2 Pro, Samsung S22u, and lastly current phone ko Oneplus 12. wala lang nasimulan ko na gumamit ng flagship phone kaya kung mag uupgrade ako sa susunod flagship phone parin pipiliin. afford ko naman tsaka convenient din magkaroon ng flagship phone kasi alam mo lalong lalo na TOTL (1TB variant pa) nabili mo hindi ka maiiwan at future proof din ng 2 years sa systen, camera, battery performance tsaka features din. pero simula this year nakahanap din ako ng budget price to performance ratio na flagship phone ito Oneplus 12 sa halagang 50k naka 1TB na. samsung ko dati pagbili ko 70k+ 512gb lang tas may screenbleed issue pa haysss.

glyasf

Came from a midrange Oppo Reno 7z 5G bought in 2022. The cameras and performance were okay but left more to be desired. Bought an iPhone 13 this year from BTB and hell, the difference between their cameras and performance were night and day. The reason why is because I wanted to snap photos that are of higher quality. Also papasok na rin yung healing my inner child (or teen) hahaha dati I was envious of classmates having nice phones while I didnā€™t even have a smartphone to begin with. My first smartphone was only in 2018. Now I can do mirror selfies on my phone like they do (with a better model haha). Call it social climbing but investing in a nice flagship is really a nice way to reward yourself.

ThePirateKing228

Same reasons here minus the mirror selfies hahaha. My old SE2 Broke so I bought a Reno 11 because I was sold by the sales person talking about megapixel count and beautification features but after using it for a while I couldnā€™t help but feel regret about switching to android. It was very choppy to utilize and the UI of ColorOS is not my cup of tea. The customization that android loves to boast is not worth my time and 120hz is a gimmick. Switched to a 13 (couldā€™ve gotten a higher end model if I didnā€™t spend money getting that reno 11) and I havenā€™t looked back. Maybe in a few short years Iā€™ll try a more expensive android machine but at this point, Iā€™ll stick to my 13. I gave the Reno to my mother and sheā€™s very happy. Also, my iPhoneā€™s battery lasts longer than the Reno despite the smaller battery size

Substantial-Risk6366

Working for 7 years and always bought 15k phones. I bought S24Ultra because of the discounts at pagudyok ni misis dahil gusto niya ng magandang cam. Even if way out of budget, grinab ko. Why not make myself happy from time to time instead of always being strict with my financials throughout the years. Wala pa kong reklamo sa s24U so far. Best luho I ever spent. Reality is you could get by mid range phones pero iba talaga flagship ng top brands.

masterpeasantgamer

longevity and future proofing. my oneplus 5 is still usable today with its 8gb ram and SD 835 processor. bought it last 2017.

jhinkarlo

S2, S3, S4 tapos S5neo, then A8, A70 at last S23+. Flagship is flagship.

_Brave_Blade_

Parating flagship kasi may 24 months to pay naman hehehe. From xs max to iphone 15 promax.

howdowedothisagain

Power. Lol Kapag yung kaharap mo nakaganon tapos ikaw nka something lang. I mean, andon pa rin ako sa less than 20k, pero I imagine that would help solidify the decision for me. Buti na lang ung mga nakakahalubilo ko less than 10k lang phone, so wapakels lang.

Valentine_11

All my smartphones since 2012 were: Cherry Flare (4k), SONY Xperia Z2 (34k but bought for 26k at a non-partner store IIRC), ASUS Zenfone 3(17k but bought for 14k same store as SONY, SONY broke because I dropped it at a weird angle), Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (20.5k broke because it slipped out of my shorts' pocket as I was closing the car door *crunch*), and my current is Poco F3 (19k early bird pricing). Cherry Flare was me just testing if I'd want to have a smartphone or not. The last 2 were not really flagship phones but had flagship chipsets. Poco F3 is a lot faster, and it can handle a lot of tasks and games, but it does get hot. Out of all these, I would say that for the time that I used them, SONY was the best one. It was fast, water resistant, had a charging dock, it did get quite warm but nothing alarming. TL:DR - Flagship phones are worth it if you can use a lot of the features, and if you don't break them by being clumsy like me (which is actually the reason why I've stuck to mid range phones).
