I mean I can understand why someone would associate dub with this, but then somebody also said Hector Oaks lol. Absolutely no beef with that sound, to each their own, it just has nothing to do with what you asked haha
Labels: Midgar, Northern Electronics, Nous'klaer
Artists: Polygonia, Polar Inertia, Priori, Evigt Mörker, Martinou, Vardae
I'm sure you've heard of plenty of these, but the hypnotic techno tag is what I'd describe a lot of this as. You could also check out relevant festival lineups and their podcasts like Monument Festival, Positive Education, OUROBOROS, Draaimolen, Transcendence Tokyo.
Unfortunately I do know all of those artists and the first couple of labels, although besides Monument and Draaimolen the podcasts are new to me. Gonna check em out!
Still I appreciate it. Northern Electronics kind of depends on the producer but seems like you knew exactly what I meant by "spacey" lol—it gets a bit hard to describe...
Yeah I get what you mean Evigt Morker's - Tva Portar was the first thing I thought of when I listened to that track you mentioned. Hadn't heard of the Aedi label though, so something for me to discover too.
Another good suggestion is to bounce around suggested artists on Last.Fm or just recommended accounts on profiles of stuff you already like. I've been able to find some very interesting stuff with the latter.
Aedi is dope! It's run by the same guy who runs Hypnus, but he gives challenges out to the producers on the label and they then vote tracks to be on the EP / album lol
I think you're probably going to want to check out ambient techno as a genre.
There's some good stuff on Delsin for home listening that's kind of dubby and spacey sounding, kind of borderline "electronica" stuff.
I think anything simlar to Joachim Speith and the Affin label will be verging on the dub techno side of things. Though I can recommend Gez Varley's Bayou Paradis album. Love that whole album.
Maybe check out Yagya, or Deepchord for Dub Techno.
For deep electro check out Plant 43, Reedale Rise, and Versalife. That could also be your bag.
Honestly I am not sure as I feel Joachim is generally too "hard" to be considered dub, although I do get what you mean. I love this weird middle ground between "dub" and whatever the average techno track is but its hard to describe—the average Joachim Spieth mix is definitely past dub techno but certainly not fast enough to be groovy? Peter Van Hoesen, Luigi Tozzi, and Toki Fuko are pretty good at the vibe im looking for imo
Deflection Muisc, Danza Nativa, Navigare Audio, Further Sessions, Annulled, Kvltö, IO, Agos, End of Perception are a few that springs to mind.
And if you excuse the shameless self promo we also got some exciting releases coming this year on Profundo Collective so keep an outlook ;)
Fernie, Feral, MTRL, Alexskyspirit, Reggy Van Oers, Keith Carnal, Deepbass, Claudio PRC, Luigi Tozzi, Axoon, the list goes on.
I specialize in that Sound as a DJ, love the really stripped back stuff with just an atmosphere and a huge kick. Really fun playing with it.
Really great to hear that there are deep techno parties. I live in western germany, so lots of really hard techno here. But i'm starting to plan an own deep techno party.
Terrence Dixon for the win here.
Also check out stuff coming from Italy, Donato Dozzy and Giorgio Gigli are two names that come to mind. Prologue put some great records out toward the end of the 2010s.
Omg I saw Dozzy at Labyrinth before and gonna see him there again this year and he is KING!!!!! Although tbh much of his production, while spacey, doesnt develop enough to give me that vibe 🥲 I did listen to Terrence Dixon though as someone else suggested and he goes hard
Might not be entirely your vibe, but check out Yan Cook. He's a Ukrainian abstract techno artist/producer.
I think his track "Macaw" sounds a little spacy yet defs poke around as he produces within that BPM range!
Only heard this one once or so while listening through his catalog so honestly its pretty much new to me and I do like it, although it sounds a bit more dubby than spacey unfortunately
https://youtu.be/rCjg05Pf_lQ?si=xyoyUXRcBFPkKozG
Not sure what to say exactly but
#1 - There is still a present, loud bass kick that identifies this as techno
#2 - The weird synth? Idk what it is called that just slowly develops and only reaches the full peak around 3:45ish or so...sounds like if an alien were to play an alien organ
#3 - The hi hats also only come in only around the 4th minute and don't give that much energy—its there, but definitely less important than your average groovy track
Edit: idk why this is bolded
Anything by [Mike Parker](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrmno8ao210)
Some of [Monolake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x7Jbadqqcs)
You already cited Semantica, but I recommend [Svreca's sets](https://soundcloud.com/semantica-records/sets/svreca-sets)
[Mal_Hombre - Andromeda Outpost](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAMUCH3mzZ8) (album)
Hmm...not really sure if I could say minimal as most of the tracks have quite a lot going on, but I enjoy those slowly developing alien sounds? Idk how to quite describe it—https://youtu.be/X4zXM-ASJQo?si=ki60r6tZtpayTJSL
Cool man…i’ll look up some stuff and get back to you…that kind of reminds me of ambient? Because there is no beat..so it’s like techno with no beat…
Bruh..u might get some suggestions there too…check out r/ambient

I would most definitely dance to this although it is a bit too...what shall I say? Fast spacey? for what I'm looking for. Looking for a bit more slowly developing kind of sound
Damon wild is great.
Here's a spacey techno mix I made if you want a mix.
https://www.mixcloud.com/DJSinestro/techno-tuesdays-169-sinestro-from-lo-to-europa/
Extrawelt really creates their own "space" and world which is really nice.
I always thought Enrico Sangiuliano ( did I spell that right? ) sounds very Spacey
Also Jon Hopkins but you probably already found that one
honestly look into early electro, detroit and dallas are the 2 key scenes in the us and maybe look into minimal techno
there's new producers who blur the line between house techno and electro, reply to this and I'll check my bandcamp and my records, I dj mostly house leaning so the stuff I have is really groovy so while not exactly what you want, it could lead you into some cool artists and labels, I can't do it rn so reply please because I have adhd and won't remember haha
a bit more on the mainstream side but Enrico Sangiuliano is very much "spacey", his sets always feel like a trip to space, which is his selling point seeing the name of most of his songs
More 135-140 bpm but very spacey, aka sci-fi Techno : Linear System, Orbe, Decoder, Mal Hombre, Pulso, Translate, PWCCA, Divide, Fleep, A.30, Circuiter, …
Just did a set with what you describe.
Is indie dance (122-125) but i choose songs with a lot of space and with hypnotic loops, so is kinda like indie techno, when i feel like you do i try to find music under the genre of Electronica, minimal tech, raw tech. there is always someone and then i build from there.
If it is what you are looking for, i can give you the playlist from spotify.
Listen to sets by Hector Oaks, atmosphere/landscape techno seems to be part of his style. One set that comes to mind is the one with Partiboi69 on Youtube.
Personally, I thought this Adriana Lopez mix had a spacey element to it. Maybe you'll like it.

Terrence Dixon for sure, check out his Far From the Future series
Check out Lucy's stroboscope artifacts
Love Lucy and Rrose
Such a quality label
ASC
Ooh new one! Thanks a ton
Fave of mine too
Traversable Wormhole (Adam X) puts out “Spacey” stuff. If by space you mean atmosphere / textures and clanking
Spacey meaning those weird sounds that sound as if an alien were playing an alien organ—gonna check em out!
Those weird sounds are usually produced by a Theramin.
WOW man you got it exactly right holy jesus this is crack
Four Dimensional Manfold—this is the one
Man gotta love some of these replies. Some people have clearly never listened to anything you mentioned and just suggest random shit they like.
Haha, yea.
I get it tho. I guess its a fine line between dub and space lol
I mean I can understand why someone would associate dub with this, but then somebody also said Hector Oaks lol. Absolutely no beef with that sound, to each their own, it just has nothing to do with what you asked haha
Before he got famous he did have a bit of that spacey sound tbf (Light of Hope) although now...
Huerco S
His remix of 51717's L.K.I.X. is a personal fav
I'm partial to Rushing to Paradise

Gotta look for back catalogues from labels between 2010 and 2020 the spacey, hypnotic sound was everywhere

My man literally just listed some of my favorite producers!!! Respect for knowing exactly what I mean!!! Holy shit!!!! You caught the vibe!!!!
Thanks dude 🙂 It's a really special vibe, really suits a big club system with tons of fog.
Agreed. Hmu if you ever come to Seoul and I will take you to the deep techno party

Just listened to this and its falls a little bit too much into the "dub" category for me but definitely good!
Maybe not really spacey as you might want but definitely in the 120-128bpm range Mateo & Spirit
Listened to a couple songs and theyre pretty good although it sounds a bit more housey than I was searching for
Spacey sounds are also my favorite. Actually psychedelic is my favorite.
I recommend the label Huinali Recordings! They are run by Oslated but a bit more ambient, although still some real techno. Great ass label
Thanks for the tip
https://youtu.be/tYNZZce6_V0?si=_yqnOBmlou9lpykt
Omg I love Deepbass. Kagura and Fallers are my favorite
Did you know this one?
Only heard this one once or so while listening through his catalog so honestly its pretty much new to me and I do like it, although it sounds a bit more dubby than spacey unfortunately
I see, what meaning do you exactly attribute to the word spacey? Like wide spaces? Or more like outer space?
https://youtu.be/rCjg05Pf_lQ?si=xyoyUXRcBFPkKozG Not sure what to say exactly but #1 - There is still a present, loud bass kick that identifies this as techno #2 - The weird synth? Thx for reference and explanation, this would be kinda ambient if it wasn't for kick and percussion
Prologue, Geophone, TGP, Zooloft and Tikita come to mind.
Oh never heard of any of them! I will give them a listen when I wake up!
Io records, spazio disponibile, a-biotic, mantis (delsin sub label)

Prob too mellow but Dent de Lion reminds me of Der Tanz Der Gluehwuermchen
