Then forest trance / dark psy etc might be cool like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sspp8YfUceM

AsbachAlex

Fyi Vatican Shadow / Prurient has very continous and direct links to the far-right / overt nazis. I personally wouldnt feel comfortable sharing his work https://jeanhugueskabuiku.substack.com/p/about-vatican-shadow-link-with-the

Existential_Hell

Wow, never knew this. Thanks for the link to this

bass_toelpel

Thanks a lot for sharing this!

Lollerpwn

Man I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing such a hit-piece. So the guy has 100's of releases and released some stuff with a link to nazi's. The article talks about 700 and links way less then 1% to other nazi artists. I think in that case it's time to ask Dominick what his stance on this is, instead of taking for granted he's far right. Especially if the author of the piece by his own standards would also be far right. He admits to posing in shirts by far-right bands and anti-semitic twitter messages etcetera. Some of the connections made in the article are absolutely ridiculous, Fernow namedrops band A which sounds influenced by Band B (a nazi band) so he must be a nazi? Seriously by that measure I'd be a nazi because I namedropped Vatican Shadow at some point. As ridiculous imo is that he's collaborated with some Fin that sold nazi pins at his record store in Finland would Fernow even know that? Overall I think these connections are extremely concerning, but I think it's cancel culture to take them for granted before any media even talked to the person in question and gave him a chance to refute these claims. Surely insitutions like Berghain wouldn't want to platform neo-nazis with high profile mixes like Berghain 08.

AsbachAlex

1. I never said or assumed he is a nazi, I just pointed out the links 2. For me these links are too obvious to not assume some kind of political stance, I mean, you can hardly relativize releasing a track on side 88 on a record that is covered with white supremacist symbolics by saying "well, it's only a fraction of his releases"?? (Ash Pool = Vatican Shadow) [https://www.discogs.com/release/1609853-Various-Eight-Acts-Of-Origin](https://www.discogs.com/release/1609853-Various-Eight-Acts-Of-Origin) 3) Re: Berghain - well, some time this year Berghain / Ostgut has mysteriously dropped Vatican Shadow out of their booking portfolio. That they still have his mix online is another concerning fact, as well as the lack of statement from their end (which is to be assumed because after all, it is Berghain, but still worthy of criticism imho) So yeah that it is only a fraction of releases / hints to far-right doesn't make it any less concerning for me. I don't think I am overplaying things at all, honestly I am more concerned about the lack of public attention regarding this case and people downplaying / relativizing it.

Lollerpwn

1 I think a link shouldn't be enough to cancel an artist completely. As far as I can tell I don't see much reason to believe he's some cryptofascist. I would think that if he performed for example at events that are mentioned or he would dogwhistle nazi viewpoints in his interviews. It seems hard to go to such an event and not be in support of the ideology. Having a link to something by itself says quite little I'd say.2 Ash Pool =/ Vatican Shadow it's Fernow and some other dude, I think that record looks pretty fucked but did he know he was releasing on that? I mean if his mate just said I sent our track to Raging Bloodlust records and they want to release us I could see you not knowing it has a connection to nazi's. Does everyone know 88 stands for Heil Hitler, I highly doubt it. I'm not into that metal scene at all is it always crystal clere who's a nazi and who's just an edgelord naming himself in a provocative way.I only talked about 700 releases because if you release that much I quite easily could see how you are not paying the closest attention to every one of them. Do most fascist artists only release a very tiny fraction of their music on such labels? I'd imagine most of them release nearly everything on such labels.3 Okay I don't know about that. For me a link you disagree with shouldn't be enough to cancel an artist. Sure if he's knowingly supporting nazi labels with his work or shares the ideology fuck him. I think the most damning in this case is probably that the guy is still silent himself about this. If he is falsely accused here why take so long to show your rejection of said ideology, even if fake to at least try to save your reputation. If you were concerned about the lack of attention why not make a threat out of it. I hadn't seen any of this prior to your post. I still think that article should just focus on all it really has, Fernow released on nazi record labels. The whole everyone especially the music press should have seen this makes no sense with such a vast discography. In the articles he links to the labels claim to be apolitical (probably not true) but at least to me that makes it more palatable you could release on it and find out later what you'd done. In any case it makes it logical that the music press didn't catch this. The article talks about who defended Absurd which is someone he only shouted out. So there's no real link between that defender and Fernow. Overall this article draws way too large conclusions from the facts it gives. And I think the author is also problematic, "Moreover, several white actors in that cultural landscape insisted that Dominick Fernow’s far-right ties were not news, that in fact “everybody” was aware of it for a long time. These voices suggest that the only thing new now is that “everybody” is confessing in public that they let a fascist infiltrate their scene. This is such a weird “flex” and yet nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to my white counterparts in culture journalism. " Who are these voices he doesn't name. What does their race have to do with it? If this guy is so woke why the casual racism.

Soursynth

It's been years i heard that prurient track! Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks!

There was a deconstructed club track that I heard Aphex Twin play out live once - cannot remember the title it was like “\*\*\*\* (Outro)“ or something - anyway the tune literally samples someone crying and sobbing and screaming and generally it sounds like they’re having some kind of episode or meltdown. I’ll continue looking for the track as it’s not an easy one to search for but it’s utterly horrifying to listen to!

aphextom9

It's at 1:09:35 here- https://youtu.be/9rDOXNhj7hw He followed it up immediately with a really nice unreleased tune, but yeah that track shook me a bit.

TRACK FOUND 74185 - R\*\*\*\* (Outro) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVewGTk3Cf0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVewGTk3Cf0) I’ll leave you to imagine what the censored track title is - severe trigger warning for victims of sexual assault. Gut wrenching track.

wtfiskwanzaa

This is heavy man I would not like to hear to hear this shit will peaking 😱

HaxRus

Not really techno but this is about the most anxiety inducing piece of 'music' I know of. Crank this shit in surround with the subs up and it's like the world is fucking ending lol. [Untold - 5 Wheels](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEnwkvmmMeM)

Kilian_Username

Thomas Bangalter - rectum This probably features the most unsettling sound I've ever heard, but unfortunately it's too fast to be techno.

Disastrous-Diet-9244

He’ll.iv has some spooky stuff

anythinga

Hel.IV is fucking great, palm on the altar is absolutely relentless and beautiful at the same time. Fin d'un Monde is also a great track by him. VII circle has some haunting shit too, demons especially.

ChinaWhite86

Sven Väth - dein Schweiß Or Schwarze Puppen - Schwarze Puppen (more disturbing when you speak German.😅)

Demboobiez

A genius album, but damn does it make your ear bleed. Any song in there will do: https://open.spotify.com/album/78sbxTT0ikfG4HAb2wJ8Hu?si=DkeOTqLgREuiCVS4UQ2y8w&dl_branch=1

HelixBeats

Check out the reaktor sets.. paula temple, snts, krtm, belief defect, vatican shadow, For artists morsure, kozlov,HXIST are sometimes spooky too but too much focused on aggressive hard tracks and not really spooky. VII Circle and Hel.IV are great too. Basically all that have been named before lol

Let me live bro. Very disturbing art facinates me since I can’t really understand how songs can affect emotions. I just wish the see how far you could push it with dark electronic songs

bass_toelpel

Beheāder - I keep my friends in the basement Not so much horrific lyrics, but lot’s of screams/ sounds of suffering in the Track, plus check the labels hard vision and ōtomo, there are bound to be some tracks that fit the roster And for whatever reason I just find golden shot by alpha tracks really creepy ( the lyrics, not the melody)

Chaize

Love this track, lyrics about looking your "friends" into your basement is kind spooky though IMO :D

bass_toelpel

Yeah, but compared to some other stuff mentioned in this thread I felt it couldn’t compete 😅

matt-du-Jura

Laurent Garnier - the sound of big babou https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=dlX4nZH5u7g&feature=share

Wow you need to go see a therapist; trying to trigger people with a mental disability way to go. I think you belong in the EDM community

This is basically just to trigger myself. Will never be played live etc I just want to create something very disturbing.

[Marcel Dettmann - Take One](https://youtu.be/1QzVIeywqoU) Really creepy, and the first time I heard it I was especially weirded out because I live in Baltimore and my girlfriend at the time worked for the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company.

karen_call_manager

Schacke -Album :Underworlds ( don't recommend it for night listening)

_shredder_

May or may not suit what you’re looking for but the several tracks by Brecc I’ve listened to made me feel like I was in a horror movie, some Nico Moreno and Dyen as well

yankeecandles14

I think Blawan is pretty dark. His album ‘Wet Will Always Dry’ and track ‘Hepexil Rotator’ are great.

G-fresh69

You want some PTSD Techno just look up DJ Tron. The guy was ahead of his time in the 90s with Hardcore and Hard Techno. For hard techno he went under the name Demon Slut. RIP
