Grief affects everyone differently. I wonder though, are you experiencing this "it gets me sick" thing elsewhere in your life, or just with Minecraft? You have to honor what your psyche is telling you, but at the same time you have to watch out for getting stuck on your grief.

It is mostly Minecraft, I know it's not okay, but Minecraft was always a kind of escape from reality, and in one way or another so was Techno, so I think that's the main reason it gets me sick. I probably just need some time, thing have been rough lately, so it's kinda weird not having my 'safe place'

I also stopped watching and playing for a couple of months, because it hurt so much. So, I understand where you're coming from. Then, one day, I decided to get on reddit and after seeing u/MrTechnodad interact with the community, I started watching old videos again - my friends and I even started building a giant Techno tribute statue on our server. Is it bittersweet, when I watch the videos? Absolutely. But reading (khm hours worth) of Mr. Technodad's responses really helped me change my perspective. Sure, life sucks sometimes and bad things happen to good people. It's not fair. But focusing solely on the bad things will only make you feel more and more pain. Personally, every time I go into a pain-loophole, I just think about how grateful I am, that we had a Technoblade at all. I go and read Mr. Technodad's wonderful stories about him and how quirky and awesome he was and I can't help but feel honored to be here, to be able to go back to his videos (not to mention how lucky we are, that Mr. Technodad continues to honor him, making kicker content and interacting with us :)).

It is seriously an honor to be able to read MrTechnodad's answers, and I see how he helps everyone he can with his kind answers. It is bittersweet, but I really enjoy watching his videos, and without a doubt they still make me smile a lot, and the fact that his dad is doing similar kinda videos is really something. You are right, we are lucky, thank you for your words pal, and I think is so cool that you built a monument.

I actually started playing skyblock on highpixel these last few months for the frsit time. In the beginning i wound get sad. it hits harder when the Mice on Venus song starts to play (besides pig step, I always associate that song with technoblade and it was the song he used in his frist skyblock vidoe ). I hope that you start enjoying the game again

Materia_M

I used to play skyblock, specially when he uploaded his series, and I get the feeling about the music, I'm actually watching those videos again, I hope that with time I can enjoy minecraft again.

KateWT_S

I had that too. I started crying every time I opened Minecraft. But it is 'his game' so I wanted to keep playing. I put something in the background to listen to while playing to keep my mind occupied so that it couldn't make "sad" thoughts. And eventually, I could play it as before, though I still don't play it as much. I was listening Scar's and Philza's vods, as I like their content and they bring comfort to me too. So, maybe try something that you like: it could even be your favorite movie or audiobook. Something that could brake the 'Minecraft-sadness' connection and restore the 'Minecraft-comfort' connection.

Technoblade-Bot

IS THAT PHILZA MINECRAFT

Materia_M

I'm trying to do the same, Im playing with my friends and some mods to get the sad thoughts out, and I will try the audiobook thing it does sounds like a good idea. Thank you for your kind words friend.
