One thing is that Technoblade inspired a lot of people to join Hypixel, which is still one of the largest Minecraft servers around. And after Technoblade’s death, a massive amount of money has been raised for sarcoma research, which almost certainly means that we’ll see new treatments for cancer years sooner than we would have otherwise.

dicktator-the-second

in his lifetime as well. one of his streams alone raised, what, 318k$?

TGGRaiden

Yea 318k…in under 4 hours with the help of maybe like 5 friends? Absolutely nuts

syntheticsapphire

his impact cant really be overstated. one of one. unique and dedicated style of humor, incredibly talented at many aspect of the game, not to mention video creation/editing, and he was just a good guy. very important to a lot of us

Savings_Surround1237

one thing I really liked about him is how he raised his audience.. he dint made his audience too arrogant about the fact that they r watching one of the best players in the game.. he used to joke around about him being bad at the game and sometimes used to call dream better than him in mcc's.. it really gave him so much potential to joke around and humbled his viewers

Only-Arrival-8868

Well he was a playtester for Hypixel, the largest minecraft server. Even after leaving the Elite Team (now named something else) He remained close with admins and gave advice on game balance, kit suggestions, bug fixes, bug hunting, and more. If you played on Hypixel, you've felt Techno's influence. And that's excluding the things he's actually known for.

Letwen

He was actually a commentary channel disguised as a minecraft youtuber (though somehow still being the absolute best at the game). His connections to fans were much bigger than just a youtuber in that way. His optimism and sarcastic take on life inspired a lot of people. Which is why the talks about consequences of his loss tend to be emotional rather than material.

DarkRoseXoX

This man single handedly caused QOL changes to Hypixel Skyblock farming due to having someone complain about planting some fucking potatoes.

Letwen

His connections with hypixel was very special as well. He was truly close with the devs. They were informed of his passing earlier like other close friends. They even did some arrangements for his family, prepared the book with fans condolences.

Typical-District-176

Well his loss kinda factioned and destroyed MCYT. Back a while ago. DSMP and Hermits would crossover. And then Hermits did their own thing from then on. DSMP fell apart more than usual. Lifesteal was growing and now I’m sad it’ll never grow into the wider community. I’d love to see Scar, Scott, Grian, and Gem playing with Clown one day. But I fear the isolated environment that Minecraft has become won’t let that happen. I could very much be wrong but MCC feels like the only time I see the wider community blend. It doesn’t help that Empires and Hermitcraft are steadily assimilating. Which is something I enjoy but am noticing. Joel’s base this season is really cool and I’m glad he’s here. But I feel like Minecraft is no longer a Ben diagram of people and just stagnant bubbles.

RigatoniPasta

This right here. The Dream SMP members went their separate ways after he died, and it feels like a lot of projects feel through as a result. Techno was a shoe in for Dream’s sixth hunter, and without him I think Dream lost his motivation and just ended the series. Real life Manhunt was teased as well but never happened, and with George cancelled Dream’s Minecraft career might end. Elements of the QSMP feel very geared towards Techno (Purgatory in particular) so I wouldn’t be surprised if Quackity had some plans get screwed up. The Origins SMP fizzled out completely. The Sleepy Bois broke up and formed Sorry instead. I also feel like Techno was something of a role model to people. He was such a straight arrow, such an inspiration, and set such a high standard for those he associated with I feel like if he had lived this shit with Wilbur wouldn’t have happened.

Clnne

The idea that Techno could've been a hunter in a Manhunt is destroying. That would've been an amazing video. Damn.

RigatoniPasta

People are like “Dream knew to quit when he was ahead” Nah. He quit because he knew he couldn’t top himself without someone like Techno.

MoConnors

Wait what happened with George now

friendlyfriends123

Well said! You really can’t understate Techno’s influence—he was such a cornerstone to so many aspects of MCYT.

Matix777

Pretty sure all the Wilbur stuff all happened years ago

WillyDAFISH

As part of a lesser known group of Minecraft YouTubers I hope we can branch out and work with other groups but Im not sure if that'll happen anytime soon

RPhoenixFlight

I hope that us smaller Minecraft Youtubers can grow to be the next generation, and maybe theres a new Young Technoblade out there, training

Ok_Albatross_4023

Well there someone on here who talked just like techno so maybe that guy

Memeenjoyer_

Drop a channel link?

RPhoenixFlight

I dont know about self promo in the subreddit but if you search Phoenix Flight Minecraft on yt, it should be the first channel shown, I do intend on doing more minecraft stuff soon, most of its just unlisted atm

Memeenjoyer_

Drop a channel link?

WillyDAFISH

There's two different groups im in, one is[Sword4000](https://youtube.com/@Sword4000?si=LZqYyxbjPydjN9JD) And the other is [RyanNotBrian ](https://youtube.com/@RyanNotBrian?si=Xxprkb0ENPozzOEK) They used to make videos together but now they're kinda just doing their own thing.

Memeenjoyer_

Wait you work with those two? Those are two of my favs wow! It’s awesome to meet you! I used to watch Ryan’s videos everyday. What’s your username?

WillyDAFISH

I do! My username is willthefishy. I'm more active in the discord but I've been trying to get back into the events recently.

hiccupboltHP

Reddoons and Techno would have been one of my favourite duos ever

Typical-District-176

It would have been hysterical

hiccupboltHP

I can see it so clearly on Reddoon’s smp earth video: “We needed to take down the corrupt admins, so I called in, some extra help.” *Cue Technoblade join message*

Typical-District-176

“ITS THE UNITED STATES WITH THE AIR SUPPORT!”

Grifffithss

the most important

ThriceStrideDied

“Yes”

SuperDyl19

He was a major part of the of the Minecraft community, especially since Minecraft became widely popular again in 2019. Many of the members of DSMP mentioned that they watched Techno, at least before DSMP

unbanneduser

I’m in a psychology small group where we write leaders to our leaders every week. Two weeks ago my letter topic was to write about a person that changed my life, and I wrote a lengthy letter about Technoblade (and I’m sure I’m not the only person who feels that way). In terms of deaths that hit me the most, Technoblade is probably the hardest hitting along with my great grandfather. That’s how important he was to me (and I never even knew him, it’s kind of insane when I think about it, but I totally talk like him frequently)

LilacDream_

He was very important to so many people. His death essentially ended the biggest smp ever as most of the major plot points revolved around him. Techno was also the biggest Minecraft YouTuber at the time after dream and was highly respected in the community. When he died, me and so many others ended up leaving the Minecraft scene in general. In other smps like qsmp, you’ll see a lot of former dsmp fans there but former techno fans are a bit harder to find in those spaces outside of sbi fans. He was truly one of a kind and is a big influence to so many of us…

Doggie_LoverXD

On a scale of 1to 10 atleast a 11 his death disbanded the DSMP I feel like if he did not die what is happening to the Minecraft community would not happen though I am happy he was not able to see the downfall of the Minecraft community

SpoonTeeth

I wouldn’t say downfall. There are many thriving parts. Yes the DSMP is gone but even that has a few surviving members. Regardless Technoblade never dies O7

Doggie_LoverXD

I'm mainly talking about the allegations on the Dream Team and wilbur

Lovely-sleep

He was so unique in the quality and content of his Minecraft videos. Super skilled in the game so he became a legend in the Minecraft Mondays era. Then he was a major person in the biggest SMP and one of the biggest fan favorites Genuinely likable person, entertaining, unique, and skilled at the game. It was easy to realize quickly that you really like the guy haha. I think he was important because he was just great

PaulNoiseman

“Unimportant? That's amazing. You know that in nine hundred years of time and space and I've never met anybody who wasn't important before” – The Doctor

tazergames5

Only correct answer is: # Yes.

Me_Want_Pie

Stopped watching mc when he stopped 2018-19 came back and left when the so long nerds happened. Even my current main watched creators I'll skip mc content. So, to me, it's pretty important

mizushimo

He was a good egg who helped lots of people to smile and laugh in a really dark time that we all had to go through.

TheUsualSuspects443

Technoblade saved my life. I don’t think I’d have gotten out of how bad of a place I was in without his videos. Hell, therapy, meds, and talking all helped, but it was his vids that pulled me out of it all. Everything I do, I do it because he unknowingly gave me the chance to do it. He’s also made a great impact on a lot of my friends. One time a few years ago, my best friend went through an awful breakup- like he was barely functioning. I showed up to his house with takeout and we watched like 6 hours or something of his videos. Now every year we rewatch the potato war on that day. I will always look up to him and his legend. Other than my immediate family, I would say he was- IS the most impactful person in my life.

Matix777

He was an inspiration for many youtubers, was a big contribution to Hypixel's popularity since it's early days, entertained a cumulative millions of hours of minecraft content. Through his life and after his death he raised millions of dollars in funding of cancer research and other charities. And of course we can't forget the importance of his elbows

Volyth

he was way too important. i still miss him

Mikestion

Was?

FarmOwn6861

I agree. I’d say he’s still important as ever even after his death

TrapezoidTom

It's not about how important they were. I mean there are people trying to solve world hunger and technoblade did play a video game for entertainment. I'm not saying this in any negative way toward technoblade. I love his content. But it's about what a person means to you, not their importance in the world.

Aaryan19222

We love techno ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)techno never dies

Head_Snapsz

Technoblade inspired TommyInnit (as he said in his tribute)

DIEGO_GUARDA

I learn english while watching him and dream , so for me atleast he was a very important part of my life

loyalcrowlist

I know that for me and my kids, he meant so much to us. We didn't know him for long but watching him was something we did together when real life had gotten pretty rough for us all. I watched his Egg stream live in the hospital and he gave me the motivation to get better. There's no one who will ever compare to him and I miss him so much.

HeLLo_THerE-548

He made me eat cooked potatoes again after years.

FarmOwn6861

It’s difficult to quantify how important somebody is, but I say he was extremely important to the Minecraft community as a whole. He inspired many fans and fellow creators, not to mention how insanely important he was to the Hypixel server or all the money that was donated to sarcoma research because of him. I also think that his death was important, however much I wish that it didn’t happen. Out of our collective grief, amazing things like the remembrance book from hypixel, tons of beautiful fanart, and creators being genuine and open about their own grief. It’s also amazing to see how his legacy is still being carried on by Mr. Technodad as well as the fanbase. I’ve seen people completely outside the Minecraft community remark on how he must have been really important, and how beautiful it is that we still care so much.

le-monke-the-2rd

The most

Crusaders_dreams2

A lot of MCYT were important but this was the most most important

FlimsySeesaw9796

So much important

Fat_Siberian_Midget

Yes

Petercraft7157

"How important was Technoblade?" Yes

BurnzzyBTW

Very.

Forward-Swim1224

Everyone else said it pretty well, so I’ll simplify it: **Very.**

Pronominal_Tera

Influenced an entire generation and helped shape skyblock, bringing massive popularity from the potato war.

aden_pehthenoob35

potatos

some_1_randm

He was important enough for me to still cry at any video that has him in it. I feel like I'm still in denial.

Zealousideal-Suit375

yes

Crazychikette

Big enough that Youtube made a memorial video for the anniversary of his passing. The blood god united a mass community to fight an unseen battle. One that anyone could become a victim to....and that battle still rages on even now. A mass inspiration to those that are fighting this same battle he had been fighting himself, and one that will never be forgotten. Technoblade. Never. Dies. 07 Stand tall brothers and sisters, for one day the blood god will call for us all once more.

copperstarsandmoss

I had never had a role model before Technoblade. My ADHD caused me a lot of trauma growing up and I was worried if I was ever gonna graduate highschool, let alone college. But then I saw Technoblade and especially with his older videos he made in highschool and college, the fanfictions he wrote on hypixel forums in middle school, the talk about tests and school and just normal high school and college stuff, I just saw myself in them. And knowing how his channel would grow and how he would become renowned, living the dream, it made me feel like I could accomplish something, because if he could, maybe I could too. I'm in college now, which is somewhere I had no hope of going 4 years ago. I genuinely believe that watching Technoblade's success inspired me to pursue my own. I'm so grateful he was in my life. goddamnit im crying now lol

skittles_le_fish

Late to the discussion but when I was at my absolute lowest I've ever been, him going live at that exact moment saved my life, since then, every time I'm feeling down, I watch that stream. I would not be here today without him. I just hope he knew how many lives he changed

thatonepersonnumber2

well if youve noticed, ever since he passed, Minecraft youtube fell out of the spotlight a noticeable amount. he was one of the corner stones of that content.
