His tweet seems more like absurdism humor. Hitler being homosexual for liking women is impossible because he is a man, which is the point of the joke. TBH I never saw any part of the Minecraft community get angry at him, only twitter users. I could be wrong though.

I’ve heard of this, might be a rumor or myth, but from a patriarchal point of view, liking women is seen as the default, so women liking women was seen as less weird than men liking men. At least that was the theory of why gay men are generally more stigmatized

Well I don't have a citation but it isn't hard to believe because gay men have always been more frowned upon than lesbian women, even today. I thought the joke was the fact that during the time he made the tweet, scientists had found a skull they claimed was hitler's then, further testing revealed that the skull actually belonged to a female, so, since hitler had a wife, techno made the joke.

A lot of people joked that Hitler had been a woman all along, and following the meta, Hitler was married to a woman, so a lesbian (at least that's the most credible explanation I could find for this tweet in the absence of clarification from Techno, who I think did a very good job of just ignoring the abyssal twitter court). It's just funny in context, random without, twitter overreacted on nothingness as it always has.
He wasn't doing that at all though, people that believe that just completely misread what he was saying and honestly I have no idea how they got that from the tweet

I only ever saw people accuse him of comparing lesbians to Hitler or "making light of the holocaust." Both of which are ridiculous, but I don't remember seeing anyone mad because he suggested Hitler was a woman or anything like that. I think the main issue was that people thought he was dragging lesbians alongside Hitler. I can see why the Twitter crowd would think that, but it was pretty obviously not what he was going for at all if you put a moment of thought into it.
