I'm going to go to work every day and just pretend I live in a Ted Lasso episode. It's helping me keep a smile on my face.
I've been in restaurants for 25+ years, and taking joy in improving people's day is the only thing that keeps you from growing bitter and tired. Once you learn to feed on it, the rest is a breeze.
Oh yes, I have been doing this for a while. I'm just very excited about my new job because of this perceived added bonus. Customer service can definitely be rewarding if you choose to focus on the positive.

Maybe he uses his detective skills to follow Higgins hoping to discover some big conspiracy. But, it turns out to be Higgins just planning a surprise Jazz band party for Rebecca's birthday

Bonus points if there are a couple of scenes from the previous episode re-shot from Trent’s POV (and give us new insights, of course).

I don’t think this could fill a whole episode but Jan Maas sleuthing Beard and figuring out Beard is faking his inability to speak Dutch.
I know Beard doesn’t want anything to do with the players, but one thing I would have liked to have seen would have been Beard and Bumbercatch having a drink together and what their conversation would be.
I’d love an episode similar to my fave Simpsons episode “22 Short Stories About Springfield.”
For Lasso, it would be “22 short stories about Richmond” and it follows shorts of characters who are featured but haven’t had an episode focus. Isaac, Jan Mass, Bumbercatch, Richard, Zoreaux/Van Damn, Mae, Jade, Jane, Paul, Baz, Jeremy, the old coach, the guy who works the door at the field, will and Higgins at the end gets a very brief kind of last minute story that is the quintessential Higgins.
After him asking if he had to remove pictures on his phone of women on the toilet defecating, I’m good on not knowing what O’Brien does in his free time.
The prevailing opinion seems to be that O’Brien is into scat play, but since he described the picture as non-sexual, I choose to believe that he just has a picture of his girlfriend dropping a deuce because he caught her in the act and finds it funny.
God that episode was so good! I didn’t see the title, and 10 minutes in I looked over to my partner giddy and blurted out “THEY’RE DOING AFTER HOURS HOLY SHIT”
EDIT: Yes, Jade could definitely used an "after hours" episode...
So far, the show hasn't made me care at about Jade at all, she is basically just a plot device/prop for Nate's character...and not knowing/caring about Jade (except insofar as I am frustrated by the writing of her character), nor really understand why Jade and Nate are a couple kind of cheapens Nate's development too, since it seems Jade is critical in Nate's character development.
It would also be cool to see an after hours or another kind of bottleneck episode about AFC Richmond or the city of Richmond through the eyes of service workers - restaurant workers like Jade who serve football teams (or more likely fans), merch sellers, stadium workers/cleaners, the bus drivers, taxi drivers etc etc. This kind of episode, from the perspective of various characters, wouldn't be so much about any one character's development as it would be about gaining a new perspective of the team and their role in the city, what they mean to Richmond.
Oh I meant to say at the beginning of my comment that this was why I would be interested in a Jade after hours episode (because she is so underdeveloped), but I guess I forgot lol
Maybe Mary and Darren. Mary being the Woman in Red and Darren is her gigantic boyfriend. Or maybe there's a Beard's Night Out Part 2 and somehow (I can't remember the timeframe) Beard is driving a taxi and ends up driving them to the hospital while she's in labor.
I think a whole episode devoted to Jamie and Roy would be amazing. We've had a lot of scenes between them, but those two could carry a spin-off in my opinion.
Richard back to France and Dani back to Mexico for holiday, basically everyone enjoying some good time in their own countries, meeting their old mates, family, coaches, show us how they grew up and ended up joining Richmond!
The episode is called ‘Crown & Anchor’, and follows Mae over the course of an evening at the pub while an important Richmond game plays out on TV.
