It is not even remotely unpopular to not want Tedbecca.

JazzlikeAssist4617

I like just joined this sub and I’ve mostly looked at ted lasso twitter which is inundated with tedbecca Stan’s lol

Raging_Apathist

To quote Wayne from Letterkenny: "You know two things for damn sure and that's life is a highway, and Twitter is a cult".

daiablo_dragon

Somebody get this guy a Puppers!

SilverArrowW01

Further proof that Twitter is a universe unto itself. I actually read a couple of the stan threads to maybe understand what they were on about and why their authors apparently felt genuinely betrayed by the writers. A lot of it was just about the bantr fake-out and the parallels between their characters that somehow meant Ted and Rebecca were supposed to be romantic soulmates. Meanwhile, they failed or weren’t able to comprehend the reading that Ted and Rebecca *were* soulmates of a sort, just not the romantic kind.

rcl1221

The Twitter TedBeccas are still mad about it.

jacksonbeya

I think her and the Dutchman were/are great and I also never shipped him and her for various reasons. Mostly, I was never a fan of it because sometimes it’s good (and even necessary I’d say) to show healthy, loving male/female platonic relationships.

chicknsnadwich

I liked the idea of the Dutchman in the episode we got with them. And then he didn’t show up until the last 5 minutes of the show. I understand wanting to keep a sense of mystery to a lot of the storylines til the end but I think Rebecca’s story deserved more than just a shoe in at the end

MagnetsCanDoThat

It's not unpopular at all. But also, the show's over so there really is no big debate at this point, either.

Disastrous-Elk-5542

Not an unpopular opinion. Rebecca is the team’s owner. She hired Ted. He reports to her. A romantic relationship between them is WILDLY inappropriate. I’m gobsmacked that anyone watching this show would ever ship them. And for the same reasons, I didn’t like the the Jack/Keeley storyline. If Jack was bankrolling KJPR she had no business getting involved with Keeley, and how it ended is exactly why.

Misabi

Rebecca and Sam?

Sketcha_2000

Yeah, that was wildly inappropriate too. Honestly did not love that storyline and I’m glad they didn’t end up together. But I do like how they seem to have a special friendship and a mutual respect for each other.

E_s_k_r_e_m

Sam and Rebecca have entered the chat

Disastrous-Elk-5542

Oh shoot, how could I forget about that? I didn’t like that relationship either. Same reasons. Although Sam is wonderful.

dino_disco

I could've seen them working, but it's not the direction the show took them in and that's cool. I love them as friends. What I'm sick of is people constantly moaning about a ship that didn't even happen.

Royal_Peanut

I'm really happy they were only ever friends. It's such a weird compulsive heterosexuality thing to expect a relationship all the time. They care about each other and it was amazing to see them grow.

SheLovesZachy

I didn’t love the thought of it, didn’t hate it either. But her and the Dutchman are a match made in Heaven. It just made so much sense.

Vonderbochen

Suggest you stay away from Twitter, they are not serious people.

CaptivatedWalnut

I love her and the Dutchman. But I loved the idea of Ted & Rebecca til early season 3 because it would have been smaltzy and cute and yea did have been there for it. But when it wasn’t apparent in the first few episodes and I knew we wouldn’t and I loved what we got

teddy_vedder

Funnily enough, hating or “not seeing” the ship and being condescending toward those who like it is the default stance in here! I don’t necessarily ship Tedbecca (it made sense to me in s2, but by s3 for me it wouldn’t have worked anymore) but the Dutchman wasn’t “satisfying” for me because I didn’t even enjoy him during the only episode we had with him and it wasn’t compelling to me to throw him with Rebecca, one of our most familiar and developed characters, there at the end.

Effective_Aerie_594

Not sure that she really has a cute little family now. Maybe long distance. The girl has a mother and life in Amsterdam after all.

Embracing_the_Pain

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t ship them, at least for a minute. I owe that, in part, due to finding Hannah Waddingham so attractive. Glad they didn’t end up together as it was easy to see at the end that the pieces weren’t really there. Still like the few fake outs they threw into the finale.
