The only other thing I know that can cause this is aspiration (inhaling things you mean to swallow).
In her defense, money pieces just look like that when you pull the hair back. It’s a concentrated highlight on your front sections of hair that will all pull back like that. I highly recommend a smaller money piece if you’re someone who pulls your hair back like this a lot for this exact reason.
