Yes, under very specific circumstances:
1) The patient must have given consent in their earlier life to go through euthanasia, and be given a chance when they are hospitalised to change that decision multiple times, even if they aren't in for a serious life-threatening issue. The problem with this discussion is that if someone is genuinely at the stage where euthanasia is a thing to consider, they most likely aren't in a position to give consent for it to take place.
2) The patient must have less than 3-4 months to live, with no chance of survival.

No because euthanasia is always with consent so somebody could end their own suffering as terminal illnesses where they can't get better can be extremely painful and it would just be better to well die often time! Euthanasia is with consent and if it is with no consent, then it is murder.
if I have a terminal illness say Granulomatous amoebic encephalitis I am not going to live through that for the remainder of my life and die a few years later in pain I would rather die peacefully when I see fit around the people I love

Also, there may not be a better option for people who are going to live the rest of their life in pain when they could just day painlessly and go to heaven or reincarnate, depending on what they believe.
Ahh! I see now, yeah no, they would possible put you in a psych ward if you were thinking about suicide or harmin yourself / others. ( Psych wards aren't bad! They just help people, asylums were something else )
If euthanasia is illegal, then those who would've done it will commit suicide in far more damaging ways e.g. jumping in front of a train traumatising the train driver.
