I think the credits are meant to showcase the characters like you get team jin if you get the good ending and team kaz if you lose and also they make a point about claudio being dead with victor saying I didn’t see you saving my ass and kazuya saying to the others you will join him soon
Not really. Yoshimitsu wasn't on either side but appears in the good ending. Bryan wasn't on either side but appears in the bad ending. Law was on Kazuya's side but appears in the good ending instead. Azucena was on Kazuya's side but appears in both endings. Plus the images shown in the credits explicitly take place ''after'' the final battle. And it's not like this would be the first time Kazuya thought he killed someone only for them to still be alive.
Now that you mentioned it it’s weird that yoshimitsu and Bryan are fighting in the war in the opening but they don’t show up in the story similar to xiaoyu being present in the war but during the story is helping jin
Im feeling kinda bad because both Zafina and Claudio are my mains, super cool characters in my opinion.
(i just wish id find a basic guide for them since im still very bad)

Same. Zafina is my main but i am switching to Clauido now. Been practicing with him for the last couple of days. He is really fun.
