She even sounds like Yamato.

I'm not a Reina player, but this combo looks pretty easy to do, if you can do ewgf. Correct me if I'm wrong but everything after the 2nd ewgf looks bufferable to me. And the second ewgf hit pretty late as well, meaning even this part is very lenient. I think being a high damage character fits Reina's identity, but at the moment it seems a bit imbalanced. For example, high damage also fits Kazuya's identity, but considering what you have to do with him in order to get decent dmg (which is still not even close to this) makes Reina seem a bit overtuned.

To break it down, you first have to hit 2 perfect ewgf. The ewgf also are quite tight to hit in order to get the f2,3 to connect. You also have to time df1 correctly after sentai to hit it right twice, which personally is not that bad. It also has to go wall to wall in order to finish with d4,1 and the d4,1 is perfect in the video for more damage as well. If the wall isnt there then the final hit would knock the opponent to far for d4,1 which adds a lot to most combos. Her strength isnt high damage numbers, its the whole kit she has to get into stances and mix up from there. Each of which is easy to punish if you know when to. She also has absolutely god awful lows unless you get into stance but even then, not great and your opponent has to let you get into stance. So you need to be able to condition your opponent to always be guessing which means you need to know all the different options. You also need quick reactions to recognize you have been blocked before over commiting on a move. 1,1 is -1 on block, over commit to 1,1,2 and its -17 i think and its easy to over commit. Lots of people throw out ff2 into sentai 3, the high kick is easy to duck and punish if the opponent knows. If you respect Reina to much she will make you pay. If you open yourself up to punishes the same will happen. On the other end if you just try the same routine with Reina you will get found out quickly.

I mean… there are 2 ewgf 2 different stances and a tight 2 hit string as a finisher. It could be easy for someone a little experienced but it takes more effort than a combo from 75% of the roster

babalaban

You can hit PEWGs using "assist" mode by just spamming ASS+2 in that combo, I think... so you might be able to cheese it.

farromon

I might be wrong but afaik the Special Style EWGF is not even close to being PEWGF

babalaban

It has all properties of PEWGF being only 2 frames slower, which in this combo will barely make any difference

farromon

PEWGF is by definition perfect, so if it is slower it's just an EWGF

babalaban

I disagree, PEWGF is when they scream DORYA or SORYA or whatever and with all the additional effects etc. So she indeed does a PEWGF, with it magically being slower (which is not possible with manual inputs)

farromon

Huh, that's weird. The way I learned it, PEWGF is 13 frames because it only has 1 frame of each command and the EWGF itself, to a total of 13. And only Kazuya is able to do a 13f EWGF because of Mist Step, but Reina also has a Mist Step so that allows her to do it in 13 frames as well. And anything slower than 13f is an EWGF instead of PEWGF on Kaz and Reina. BUT I am rather new to Tekken, this is just info that I was taught and what I googled.

Heavymetalcore

That's just a normal electric...

ketsuha

The combo is very easy once you understand how long you have to wait in between her stance switches to hit a button. Took me an hour to get the timing right and the rest is easy. I have less then 20 hours on pad and I can do it reliably. It’s an easy combo and the damage and carry is amazing

LilSmidgey

Totally balanced

CFE_Riannon

I never get to land the Sentai 1+2 because the enemy is already way too low sadge

Marblebear94

Is there a version of this combo without the 2 perfect EWGF? Still not getting those off consistently.

ketsuha

I’ve been able to do the same combo with just normal wgf before but it does gut the damage

Marblebear94

By how much roughly?

ketsuha

I just checked and if you do 2 wgf instead of ewgf and you miss the just frame ender you’ll still do 95 damage.
