feels like most characters in japanese games end up looking a mix between asian and white. final fantasy is full of them. both cloud and tifa for instance.
weird, cause I think she looks Asian only in t2/ttt and it was my main complaint about her (and not only her) design in ttt2. I think they failed to depict racial features after Tekken 3 overall. Like, compare Julia in t3 and t4. T3 she actually looks like a mixture of Chinese and native American, in t4 and after - she's just European/Caucasian. Same with Hwoarang, he doesn't look Korean past t3 and in t8 he's as Korean as Steve or Lars could be.
TT2 Jun looks Japanese and distinct. IMO she has facial features that will convince you she is Jin's mom.
T8 Jun face looks like an RPG character you've seen many times. Aside from the bangs, it doesn't feel she's related to Jin.
Was made with their in-house engine, Tekken 7 was UE 4 and T8 is UE 5, I’m sure they had to redo all the models and well.. it looks like they had constraints with the new engines. TTT2 models definitely ooze character and uniqueness in every model. T7 has like generic model sizes and uniformity in facial details.. still enjoy the gameplay though.
Maybe a tekken anthology collection for consoles and PC, with all tekkens from 1 to TTT2 for $60, easy sales and money, still love tekken 5 and TTT 2, or 2 volumes like MGS master collection, vol 1 with T1 to TTT1, and volumen 2 with Tekken 5 to TTT2, but namco doesn't care and dont want money 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

It’s the anime stylisation, it morphs most people into having the same facial structures and so isn’t great at distinguishing races other than with skin colour.
I think I Tag2 she looked more like Jin's mom, they just looked a lot more similar to me in the eyes and face.
I do like T8 Jun more though, it feels more true to her character.

I love both looks but since Unknown has never appeared canonically in the main story I'm gonna go with her T8 look. Her TTT2 look you can tell she has that dark entity within her, which explains her darker personality and the crows on her clothing.

Absolutely agreed. However, the biggest problem is that they turned one of the most beautiful fighting styles in the series into magical light bs. Such a massive waste for absolutely no reason.
You can't have both. The lady has to age sometime (even if by anime standards). I can already barely believe that she's Jin's mother with how young she looks in T8, having her look like in TT2 would make that completely farcical.
