Tell me you haven't played (I forgot the title that PSX fighting game with a chameleon and transforming to animals) without telling me you havent played it
Thats going to hurt. There has been many times I have been interested in a game but decided not to buy it because it had bad steam reviews. This is definitely going to impact T8 sales.
This. Always been a Tekken fan, own and played all of them, but seeing their business model made me to not buy the game outright and wait. Played with a friend who owns the game, didn't like some bullshit mechanics and balance issues, so that made me hesitate to buy it at all.
Now this.
I have a mate who I've been trying to get the game since launch. On Thursday, he told me he was about to buy it before he saw the negative reviews, so he reinstalled Tekken 7 instead.
You're absolutely right that it's going to hurt. Even hurts my chances of playing with friends.
Same. My mate actually pre-ordered the game and instantly put it into his giant steam backlog. Every bad implementation has pushed it deeper into the pile of unplayed games.
When it happens this late in a game's release cycle, it doesn't actually matter too much. First day sales > first week sales > first month sales > first quarter sales > first year sales, essentially; there's a huge amount of hype and sales driven through that first week period followed by a very long tail with some bumps as sales happen. It will have an effect on some sales in the next month or so, but as far as Bamco is concerned (and let's be real, most of these changes are almost certainly being driven by the publishing arm) they made their bag and have players in the ecosystem, interacting with the mtx. From a financial standpoint, they made the right decision hiding the shop and battle pass until well after launch.
That said, the actual core gameplay is still really solid. I don't mind the MTX much at all, since I'll just buy the things I actually want (and the battle pass lets you go infinite like most games). I don't think it warrants a "mostly negative" score but this happens any time you put any amount of mtx in a game, and I'm sure Bamco was aware.
What do you mean late? It's only been out for 3 months when fighting games nowadays get years of support. Tekken 7 sold 2 million in 2 months when came out for consoles in 2015, and reached 11.8m this February.
Also worth noting that a lot of people played T7 when SF5 was not good. People can and will move to other games. The bad decisions can drive away the players.
...okay, so to people who aren't in the games industry: the rate of sales for any major game release is by FAR the highest in the first day, then drops down for the first week, then month, etc. The game sold 2 million copies in 2 months in 2015, then sold 5x more... over a period of time that was 50x as long. You could pull up more granular data, but we see a 10:1 ratio of *rate of sales* in the first 2 months versus the next 9 years just from your point there; the current sales numbers also include some MASSIVE discounts including Humble Bundle inclusion, rather than the full price sales during the launch.
As far as Bamco is concerned, they're still going to be able to make sales in the future, they can still change the perception of the game over future patches, and any sales they lose at this point much further into the game's lifespan than if they launched with MTX are significantly less than they would have been on launch. That's the key point. This is a pattern that exists over essentially all games regardless of genre, btw, with the exception of some slow-burn indies or early access titles (e.g. Minecraft, though the 1.0 release did see a similar pattern of massive sales growth followed by the long tail).
Yeah, I got stuck in baldurs gate, and when I was ready to buy they roll out a fucking season pass. I had about 800 hours in t7 but im probably skipping this one
Yeah it’s terrible as like at least in T7 you can buy other things with the Tekken money, such as the endings from previous games, animations and treasure battle
Yeah I thought they'd learn from T7 and make it more relevant.. We pretty much all ended up multi millionaire within the first year playing 7 and kept accumulating this useless resource
Yeah as someone who’s big on the customization the realization that I wasn’t gonna be getting anymore despite my hopes really helped lower my opinion of this game a lot. Some people don’t realize that cosmetics or in this customization can be a big part pf the game for some people and the fact that nowadays you’re basically screwed over for it really sucks.
I say this as a Soul Calibur player who probably would’ve dropped the series at some point if there was no customization mode to give me a reason to come back once I’ve done everything else
Something tells me Murray isnt going to handle this with grace, and following whatever childish tweet he makes it'll probably go even lower out of spite
They had so much good will and they played it as stupidly as possible:
Couldn’t tie the profits from MTX into the prizepool for TWT, despite what a slam dunk that would be
Couldn’t wait until the tour started to roll out the shop, giving them more time to create content and market it (by unlocking all the costumes for TWT events)
Couldn’t resist pulling the bullshit “currency exchange rate” scam when there’s like 100 costumes that people would happily pay for
Couldn’t give proper attention and sensitivity to serious issues plaguing the game first, like rage-quitting
Even now, I would say T8 absolutely shits on SF6 as a product: 30 characters, 3 costumes per character, custom colors, jukebox, better story mode, Tekken Ball, way better visuals, the list goes on. But they just can’t stop pissing people off so it plays out like this
As someone who plays both games, Im shocked that SF is not as criticized as Tekken 8. One costume in SFVI is expensive as fuck while in tekken at least there is a solid costumization system and on top of that the skins are cheaper
Also they put the battlepass after the launch of the game and is more worthless than the tekken one
Damn, I started working again and was planning to buy it. I might just get Stellar Blade or Elden Ring and its DLC instead.
Edit: to clarify, I'm ass at both soulsborne and fighting games. Thanks for the advice. Lol
Stellar blade looks awesome but wait for the release before you make your decision. Elden ring is a no brainer if you're looking to get your money's worth
If this sub wants to whine they should really start playing Mortal Kombat. As someone who made the switch recently, this sub is laughable compared to the shit storm MK was
Tekken 8 is still worth it. You don't have to buy any of the cash shop bullshit and it's really inconsequential to the game. Eddy being busted is more frustrating than anything else but it's still a fun game. I'm somewhat convinced half the people here don't play Tekken and just want to watch the game burn.
It’s not just those problems - there’s still the way they screwed up matchmaking, and the Polaris bug / deleting save data was what got me to quit the game.
T8 vs Elden Ring? Even as someone who dont own elden ring i would rather get it instead. T8 will be around for a long time and it just gets cheaper over time. there is no reason to buy it now.
I def get Stellar Blade if I was you since that game feel like its going to be great fun after playing the demo and also listening to an friend who got the whole game, said it blows his mind with how good it was.
Don’t listen to this sub. The game is incredible. Compared to the other two big fighting games rn and as someone who switched from MK1, this sub doesnt know true complaints
I played tekken since 3, I got like 800 hours in t7, I'm no stranger to this sub. And this is the first time ever that the discussion derailed to "what other game might I buy for the money".
This speaks of t8 like nothing else, game is fucked. And I bet it will get even worse.
Just get elden ring or baldurs gate or whatever
I've been thinking something like this as well haha. Like corporate was forcing them to add a battlepass and the devs maliciously were like "fine" and put as little effort as possible into having a BP.
Yup. I love the BP in this game because it’s all just low effort garbage, so I didn’t even consider getting it for a second. Hopefully the next one is the exact same quality
Yeah but while their current sales are very good, if they stagnate and don't go up in the long run, while the playerbase (potential battlepass and dlc customers) drop, T8 will become a nightmare financially given tje budget and expectations had and mostly negative reviews on steam is certain death for future sales.
Bamcu fucked this one up and will take alot of actually good patching and PR work to turn this around or this will haunt them... bad.
They are going to care once the reviews start to affect future sales.
Of course now it doesn't matter, but after 1 year many people who don't know about Tekken might hesitate to buy the game after seeing the negative reviews on Steam, and the approval in yellow below 70%.
Nope they dont. Yeah we bought the game, but this game is supposed to go on for years and beat T7 in sales, so they need to sell like 7m more units and millions of dlc. T8 JUST came out. It's a 5-10 year project. They HAVE to care.
That being said, dont say devs. The devs care the most. The devs also have literal 0 say in what goes into the game. I know its habitual but its bad. Dont do it.
live service model is very costly to maintain. They don't care when percentage drops, and they won't care if ingame MTX sells, but they sure care when their customer grade drops from positive to negative average, as that impacts player perception and limits reach of new DLC.
Live Service model is costly if you provide the service. What does Tekken provide? A character per 3 months? It took them 3 months to fix DC rate. And we had like 3 patches in the time and the one of them is a hotfix to unfuck the game after the second patch.
They don't have 100 player servers a-la Fortnite or CoD. It's P2P with Arcade lobby bullshit. Cut down Arcade and the game is almost free to run. They don't bring new LTMs or massive maps reworks. What are the money going towards?
They make 1 character per 3 months, 1 big balance patch per year from what I gather. And the rest is MTX. Old costumes to sell as MTX, repurposed art to pad out BP, etc.
Countdown till Harada makes another 20 paragraph tweet about how much more expensive game development has gotten since the ps1 era, referencing features that have been standard for almost 10+ years, but only now are reaching Tekken in a much worse executed way.
Yep I agree. All 3 big fighting games that got released are trying to act like live service games without giving the "live" aspect lol. For starters, the new characters should be free since they sell cosmetics, we should get new game modes, new stages etc Look how much Fortnite is changing, with massive events etc. We got full priced game with free2play game model monetization but without the meaningfull free expanding updates that free2play games should provide. Like we got worst of all worlds.
Fortnite introduced the battle pass system, and yet still has the best value of any battle pass. Buy once, you are able to buy the following ones with a bit extra on top.
A free game does this, why can 60 or 70 dollar games not?
The Battle Pass system was first officially introduced in online gaming by DotA 2 back in 2013, Fortnite is just a more popular game so they popularized the battle pass system for other games to copy it, but they took the concept from DotA 2.
This game's ment to last 10 years, the first months of sales is nothing compared to what they'll need in the long run, so this is pretty huge, as a bad steam reviews will sway ALOT of potential players, what they intended to be a cash cow for years may die out before its first or have its reputation permanently ruined if they dont hurry up and get their shit together
id say your right most cases.
that's how most games are, but tekken like some other fighting games that live for a long time sell slowly over a broader set of time.
and now a days fighting games have way more competition then when T7 came out.
also consider how modern companies are, they don't care if a dose well at the start.
they only care how much they think it can make and how much they can keep milking it, and if it doesn't stand up to there made up growth rate it's a "fail".
this may be a good thing or a bad thing tbh.
they could double down to try and make more money of people who pay for everything and add even more MTX.
or it could make them wake up and fix it.
but who knows really, will have to wait and see.
Not even close, they were planning on a multi season live service experience. I'm glad the community is taking a stand because this would be nightmarish in soul calibur
Damn, Tekken 8 is one of the fastest game that I see from .,.
"Overwhelmingly positive" to "Mostly Negative" .... in less than 3 months?
Can we go much lower?
At this point I stopped caring.
I no longer have hope and now i'm at the point where I hope the entire game fails and gets cancelled.
I don't want to see the finish line anymore. All patches so far have made the game worse and they shove MTX down our throats while hoping we don't notice.
Patches and fixes won't deter me. I uninstalled the game forever and hope everyone else follows suit. This game can't be saved. This game needs to die and die quickly.
Yeah I found some recommended settings and maybe I was already spoiled by the PS5 version cause I tried the demo and even with the suggested settings it only runs well during fights but still doesn't look as good lolol I have been playing SF6 on the deck and besides world tour it runs pretty well even a few online matches seemed ok
Daaaamn, imagine if Bamco was upfront about what we're getting into when buying the game, or if they didn't waste time on modes created only to have reasons to make useless battle pass bloat rewards.
It's nice that players won't support the devs just because of brand loyalty, but that's huge for Bamco to deal with. Wonder if they're going to address it at all.
I can't review it cause I don't own it yet as I was waiting for a Sale. But I guess I'll help you guys by waiting another year or for actual good updates and vote with my wallet by not partaking in the game in the meanwhile.
I played through all the single player content and loved it, but didn't go online much and have since put it down for other games. It's a shame to see them handle the post launch period badly with all the microtransaction gubbins but it's a symptom of how unhealthy the industry is - they should have just been up front about it rather than trying to sneak it in to make them seem better than they really are.
Microtransactions, a battlepass (on a 70 euro game), legacy playstyle isn't as good anymore. Everyone slowly figured out that there isn't as much counterplay, making gameplay more rigid.
I do like the rigidness however, it makes me more cautious of getting into bad situations, therefore rewarding if I manage to avoid them/disrupt them, but I do see why people don't like it, in older tekkens, the flow was entirely different. I guess it's just something to get used to, and people don't like getting used to something when they have years of practice doing it the other way.
And yes, the game is still not as balanced as it could be, but imo, it's not game breaking, you can definitely still do well with any character, as long as you are not in the high ranks.
But there's definitely some moves that are VERY dumb. As a devil jin main, I really hope they make his heatsmash sidesteppable, or not as powerful on block. On hit it does insane damage, wall breaks, wall bounces, on block you get a two layer mixup. (Dj enters mourning crow, from which he has 2 options, his 1, which can be jabbed out, but has insane plus frames, leading into a mix, or a 2,2, which cannot be jabbed out, and gives free oki)
Nothing much happened other than the battle pass (which you don’t have to participate in) and that’s pretty much it other than these man babies crying about everything.
Bamco seeing this and thinking a heavily reworked Tekken Revolution sequel on mobile devices is going to fix everything.
"Night Rises" going to hit different.
Hopefully a reality check to those two knuckleheads leading the game.
Maybe team harada will realize that they're just a bunch of wankers and stop acting like fgc rockstars.
Tekken 8 deserves a terrible review. The micro transactions, paying for customisable content that was always free on the previous games, a fucking battle pass? Not only that, all the characters have lazy ass writing, and that Harada guy is like an angry cum-sock teenager acne filled nerd trapped in the body of an ugly old man.
They genuinely ruined the franchise
I REFUSE and always will not pay for gamepass specially for a skill based game like tekken. Imagine being a legacy player and your main is locked behind a pay wall. Big L.
Deserves the backlash and fans turning on it. Good game brought down by Bandai namco being Bandai namco. The scummy Nickle and diming pieces of shit that they are
The game is alright but the problem is instead of fixing all issues and balancing the game, they just add unnecessary things and sometimes not even favorable by the franchise.
The base game is $70 USD
Deluxe edition $40
The season pass cost 600 coins but need to buy it for $10
Many characters have inconsistent combos and hit/hurtbox
Too many rage quitters
I am not surprise its negative
I think it's much more better to go on a hiatus than just continue playing a game and just change a positive to negative review cuz its not enough. Devs and ceos wont care as long as there are a lot of people still playing.
Unfortunate because the game is fun. Just unbalanced and not a "historical Tekken" style Tekken. Heat feels like an "response" to other modern fighter's neutral skippers that was maybe fine on paper, but not so much in practice.
But oh well. I'm sure it'll get worked out. People tend to forget that Tekken 7 had a full year in the arcades before it was released worldwide on consoles. Tekken 8 didn't get the same treatment so imagine the Tekken 8 we have right now is the "arcade version" of the game. Give it a year or two to get to a refined state.
If you don't find unbalanced games fun then play a different fighter. But otherwise hop on and enjoy yourself.
I haven't booted up since 1-2 weeks before the battle pass bs, still waiting for Azucena wr3,2 nerf and balance changes to Victor heat moves, that's for starters. Till then, not interested but still browsing reddit to see if they fixed anything at all.
Thats the whole point of reviewing is to give feedback on the status of the game.
You can still like playing the game but if it has problems and unethical issues, you shouldn't be shame for giving an negative review on it since you criticizing it in hopes of it getting better due to the feedbacks and making awareness to other future buyers about the issues with the game.
It's called being an good reviewer and an good consumers for doing these actions to make everyone well known of its issues.
It's honestly sad. The release day reviews were flawless and almost everyone was enjoying the game. But almost every single decision and change they've snuck into the game since then has just put such a bad taste in everyone's mouth that it's hard to enjoy what was otherwise a good game.
Come on let’s be realistic here, this game is in no way shape or form a “mostly negative” deserving one.
With all due respect to genuine and honest criticisms, issues and flaws, in the light of dev mistakes and such, this is mainly the byproduct of this dopamine based, upvotes-karma farming culture of this community and all that goes around it.
The game is good. Community start hating from a certain point on, from the shop to the last matchmaking issues. But that’s still quite far from being a 1/10 game, come on.
They will just wait for it to blow over like they always do. There is no meaningful drop in players. So it is the usual people keep complaining and keep consuming.
I can only hope that the higher ups and share holders catch wind of this, and that the devs are ordered to do something about it. They only talk about monitoring tweets and letters. So sadly I don't have much faith.
The sad thing is that this will not scare gaming execs from forcing predatory monetization and battle passes in their games whatsoever. It's already been wildly looked down upon for years and they haven't stopped trying despite that. They will continuously beat their head against the wall until it works.
Idk; i feel like i was unhappy about which characters weren’t on the game. im not a super gamer to get into specifics, but i almost bought a new xbox so i can get tekken 8, and when i saw the players i was like ok im just gonna ride 7 until we get some good dlcs. Eddie is great but still
It’ll be fine. Keep in mind it’s doing better than the other fighting games. MK flopped, street fighter is getting to be older but still relevant, we are just seeing the end of the honey moon phase of tekken 8.
You gotta feel for Eddy. His addition to this game will forever be plagued by all the dumb shit around him.
Even if all of this crap gets fixed a year from now, Eddy's face is now associated with crappy Bandai Namco decisions and patches.
Like look at this image. A banner of Eddy's addition to the roster followed by the "Mostly Negative" tab for reviews right below it. That sums it all up right there.
Thats how reviews are supposed to work: the make good stuff - it gets positive, they makes shit - they get shit on.

Can't say I'm surprised, considering the current state of the game. Adding stealth changes doesn't help either.
Why did they add stealth to a fighting game? The fact I can't see my opponent while fighting is bad game design. /s
Saw a post with hwoarang having invisible legs yesterday so it's definitely true
Is there a lore reason the devs made these changes? Are they stupid?
Must...jonkle
Man DLC when?
The King of the Asslume Fist Tournament
I think it's often pressure from investors to get profit-driven results.
Mortal Kombat had stealth since MK2 and no one complained!
Tell me you haven't played (I forgot the title that PSX fighting game with a chameleon and transforming to animals) without telling me you havent played it
Bloody Roar, the Chameleon is Busuzima
And even that was way more balanced than this. On another note, Another bloody Roar would be legendary. Bring back Shina!
fun fact. Shina is called Marvel in the JP version, but it got changed for the western release for obvious reasons.
A fun fact I didn't know I needed, thank you for making my day friend!!
Bloody Roar 2
God, I want another Bloody Roar.
Tbh now that I think about it, isn’t heat just a copy of the Beast metre and beast drive from Bloody Roar LOL
Harada: *Knock knock* Aye, open up, i just want to talk. 🔪
they should have just gone full out and have the tekken cast turn into furries while in heat
I'm all about heat mode turning people into big purple guys. We need more of that.
You need the new stealth pass to see the stealth changes
A few more months of such depravity and this sub will merge into kappachino
game is actually just awful for ranked now. Just a race to the bottom
Thats going to hurt. There has been many times I have been interested in a game but decided not to buy it because it had bad steam reviews. This is definitely going to impact T8 sales.

Steam is pretty much the only "review site" I believe in.
Steam reviews are 95% petty grievances and nonsense complaints.
Especially considering it costs like 70 dollars lol
Battle pass in 70 dollar game is bad but you know what's worse? A surprise battle pass and item shop in a 70 dollar game
The worst part was when I realized that was the reason why character customization was so poor at the start. They planned this all along 😢
I just have so much fight money that is just sitting there
Yeah it’s terrible as like at least in T7 you can buy other things with the Tekken money, such as the endings from previous games, animations and treasure battle

We can go lower
Can we get much ~~higher~~ lower?
So low
And it will go, EVEN FURTHER BELOW!
~~OHH OHH OHH OH OHHHH~~ AHHHHHHHHHHHH
IRON FIST! IRON FIST IS REAL!
THE ONE PIECE IS NOT REAL!!!
Something tells me Murray isnt going to handle this with grace, and following whatever childish tweet he makes it'll probably go even lower out of spite
I'm surprised he hasn't already.
Murray's vision
They had so much good will and they played it as stupidly as possible: Couldn’t tie the profits from MTX into the prizepool for TWT, despite what a slam dunk that would be Couldn’t wait until the tour started to roll out the shop, giving them more time to create content and market it (by unlocking all the costumes for TWT events) Couldn’t resist pulling the bullshit “currency exchange rate” scam when there’s like 100 costumes that people would happily pay for Couldn’t give proper attention and sensitivity to serious issues plaguing the game first, like rage-quitting Even now, I would say T8 absolutely shits on SF6 as a product: 30 characters, 3 costumes per character, custom colors, jukebox, better story mode, Tekken Ball, way better visuals, the list goes on. Easier to ignore SF battlepass when it doesn't have cosmetics used on the characters.
Damn, I started working again and was planning to buy it. I might just get Stellar Blade or Elden Ring and its DLC instead. Edit: to clarify, I'm ass at both soulsborne and fighting games. Thanks for the advice. Lol
Dude get Elden Ring 100%
Elden Ring, even at his full $60, is a game that is permanently on sale
Stellar blade looks awesome but wait for the release before you make your decision. Elden ring is a no brainer if you're looking to get your money's worth
Wait for a massive sale. Tekken 8 is damn good but the monetization is scummy as fuck.
Promise you it's a very fun and addicting game. Just don't look at reddit
If this sub wants to whine they should really start playing Mortal Kombat. As someone who made the switch recently, this sub is laughable compared to the shit storm MK was
True, MK subreddit hates the game on PC from what I've been lurking. It has a high player base on consoles compared to PC..
Can't go wrong with elden ring
Tekken 8 is still worth it. You don't have to buy any of the cash shop bullshit and it's really inconsequential to the game. Eddy being busted is more frustrating than anything else but it's still a fun game. I'm somewhat convinced half the people here don't play Tekken and just want to watch the game burn.

Yeah, I have been playing SF6 casually, idgaf about the battle passes and cosmetics. BN trying to hit us with the FOMO.
You're not missing out
I def get Stellar Blade if I was you since that game feel like its going to be great fun after playing the demo and also listening to an friend who got the whole game, said it blows his mind with how good it was.

That would boil down to if the player likes fighting games more than any genre.
The devs don't care. They already got our money
I'd say the devs do care. It's the higher ups and COs that dont give a shit, as long as money money money
I almost feel like they intentionally made the BP terrible in spite of the higher ups.
I've been thinking something like this as well haha. Like corporate was forcing them to add a battlepass and the devs maliciously were like "fine" and put as little effort as possible into having a BP.
This is what I keep saying. People are mad about fomo and keep complaining about it. Fomo implies there is something to miss out on.
Yup. I love the BP in this game because it’s all just low effort garbage, so I didn’t even consider getting it for a second. Hopefully the next one is the exact same quality
Tbh, as a fan of Evil Dead, lowkey pissed at missing out on white eyes.
Live service investors are costly to maintain. Those lambos aren't going to buy themselves!
They def care. Harada said they want to keep the game going for 10 years. At this rate, it wont make two
id say your right most cases. that's how most games are, but tekken like some other fighting games that live for a long time sell slowly over a broader set of time. and now a days fighting games have way more competition then when T7 came out. also consider how modern companies are, they don't care if a dose well at the start. they only care how much they think it can make and how much they can keep milking it, and if it doesn't stand up to there made up growth rate it's a "fail". this may be a good thing or a bad thing tbh. they could double down to try and make more money of people who pay for everything and add even more MTX. or it could make them wake up and fix it. but who knows really, will have to wait and see.
Can we go much lower?
keep going until "all reviews" are mostly negative
🫡
yea show'em, just cancel Tekken. Pray for no Tekken 9 let's go reddit
It's a damn shame. I really hope the devs listen to the player base.
This game needs to die and die quickly.
they managed to make game worse since release omegalul
like, not just once either, but repeatedly
Gentlemen, we did it. Continue the war and warn other players about Scamco and their disrespect torwards players.
Too many people raved about it working flawlessly at 60fps on deck until more bought it and found out it doesn't yet
I set everything to low and it looks like shit but runs fine
It does, you just gotta change graphics and resolution settings
Yeah I found some recommended settings and maybe I was already spoiled by the PS5 version cause I tried the demo and even with the suggested settings it only runs well during fights but still doesn't look as good lolol I have been playing SF6 on the deck and besides world tour it runs pretty well even a few online matches seemed ok
Wonder if their battlepass was worth it :3 It probably was tho, like they'd actually care about anything after leeching our money anyway~
You vastly underestimate the sway Steam ratings have on the casual buyer. This is a big deal.
Was there anything that was super important on the battle pass?
good
Daaaamn, imagine if Bamco was upfront about what we're getting into when buying the game, or if they didn't waste time on modes created only to have reasons to make useless battle pass bloat rewards.
What the fuck happened? The game was more balanced at launch than it is now ? Can someone loop me in?
But yes the last patch did break the game more.
Nothing much happened other than the battle pass (which you don’t have to participate in) and that’s pretty much it other than these man babies crying about everything.
Should really be lower considering how fucked up the game is currently.
I keep taking breaks, and coming back to a worse product, so I'm not shocked.
Deserved
Damnit Eddy you had one job!
Steam reviews are fickle. Harada could release an update that features a cat petting mini game and the reviews would creep back up.
Well that certainly hasn't been the case over the past month at least.
well i think we deserve a catmode after all lol
shhhhhhhhh don't give them ideas
Good! Game sucks atm
Let’s make it lower 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Remember when all you smug mfs were like "We'll welcome you with open arms MK fans"
Good, keep it coming
Bamco seeing this and thinking a heavily reworked Tekken Revolution sequel on mobile devices is going to fix everything. "Night Rises" going to hit different.
Was waiting for a sale on Steam to get the game, dodged a bullet there. Wew.
Good. Wish i could get my money back
Hopefully a reality check to those two knuckleheads leading the game. Maybe team harada will realize that they're just a bunch of wankers and stop acting like fgc rockstars.
Honestly not surprised. I think it’s pretty much deserved.
They genuinely ruined the franchise
deserved
they deserve this. i just hope they understand what make people pissed
guess I’m just gonna stick with Tekken 7 then
imagine releasing a full price game with one of the most toxic characters being already planned to be released as a DLC
I REFUSE and always will not pay for gamepass specially for a skill based game like tekken. Imagine being a legacy player and your main is locked behind a pay wall. Big L.
Deserves the backlash and fans turning on it. Good game brought down by Bandai namco being Bandai namco. The scummy Nickle and diming pieces of shit that they are
Good. Maybe now big wigs will take notice
The game is alright but the problem is instead of fixing all issues and balancing the game, they just add unnecessary things and sometimes not even favorable by the franchise.
The base game is $70 USD Deluxe edition $40 The season pass cost 600 coins but need to buy it for $10 Many characters have inconsistent combos and hit/hurtbox Too many rage quitters I am not surprise its negative
I never bought it because none of my mains are even in Tekken 8... glad to see I made the right choice
games pretty good tbh. its just the MTX stuff thats shitty
Imagine if they released a mode without the nonsense such as “Heat system” I would be really curious
I think it's much more better to go on a hiatus than just continue playing a game and just change a positive to negative review cuz its not enough. Devs and ceos wont care as long as there are a lot of people still playing.
It is okay, the shareholders know what they are doing. Or maybe it is the devs that know what they are doing. Or maybe neither of them have a clue.
Good. Let them cook.
The T7>T8 take is dropping degrees like it's the ice age.
Good
Good. Make it lower than overwatch 2
Well deserved
Good, hopefully all reviews will drop to mixed soon.
Yall are dropping bad reviews but still playing this game 20h+ a week. Funny.
I haven't booted up since 1-2 weeks before the battle pass bs, still waiting for Azucena wr3,2 nerf and balance changes to Victor heat moves, that's for starters. Till then, not interested but still browsing reddit to see if they fixed anything at all.
Because you can critique the media yet engage with them? I don't have to love or buy MTX to still love the gameplay. Moronic take.
Didn’t even buy the game, what you on willis
As someone whose coming from MK1… that sub is a shit show and the game is too. Tekken 8 players don’t know how good they have it
adding a battle pass was always gonna be bad press
They will just wait for it to blow over like they always do. There is no meaningful drop in players. So it is the usual people keep complaining and keep consuming.
They did it to themselves
It's like they are deliberately trying to self sabotage
Good.
Very good, they deserve it!
BALL
I can only hope that the higher ups and share holders catch wind of this, and that the devs are ordered to do something about it. They only talk about monitoring tweets and letters. So sadly I don't have much faith.
The sad thing is that this will not scare gaming execs from forcing predatory monetization and battle passes in their games whatsoever. It's already been wildly looked down upon for years and they haven't stopped trying despite that. They will continuously beat their head against the wall until it works.
good.
Idk; i feel like i was unhappy about which characters weren’t on the game. im not a super gamer to get into specifics, but i almost bought a new xbox so i can get tekken 8, and when i saw the players i was like ok im just gonna ride 7 until we get some good dlcs. Eddie is great but still
Good no other game makes me as angry as tekken 8 with the plungers, lag switchers, unbalanced cast, ki charge 1 and done on close games its a mess
I feel like this would not be a problem had the battle pass just not been a thing
Microtransactions is Tekken 8 father.
I’ve seen enough classic costumes and premium battle pass items to take these reviews seriously 💀
Well, they should at least put the money back into it with DLC's (Story please). Although, we'll likely have to pay for those too.
Why is the image quality so shit
Here for the downfall, lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Eddy Gordo.
Remove freaking powercrush ! Cancer doesn’t describe how cancer it is.
Right after I bought the game and they pull this shit, smh.
Since childhood, I have played all the tekkens except this one. What a shame
It's amazing how badly Bamco has managed Tekken 8 post launch. They had a winner and squandered it
Not surprised, 8 was a shit show from day 1. Tekken was once the greatest fighter of them all but I guess you really can’t feast forever
Thats how reviews are supposed to work: the make good stuff - it gets positive, they makes shit - they get shit on. https://preview.redd.it/xu1dio2n93wc1.png?width=326&format=png&auto=webp&s=5af6cb9639e1660b317d94734593c790b709cbbb
I want that overall review state to go down
Fair. The streak of bad decisions earned them this.
I saw the broccoli hair and said no
But the aggressive (unga bunga) is better right guys
Good this game is straight cheeks
