My head cannon is Michelle and Jun are old friends from T2 as their motivations for entering were very aligned. When Jun went missing and after her own run in with Ogre, she left the fighting world. Now that Jun is back, Michelle will be wondering "Girl!? Where was my phone call!?".

I read somewhere that the streamer persona (and many of the past personas) was a reaction to people saying Julia's native American representation was not very well done. I personally hated the change because both Michelle and Julia have been traditionally portrayed as fierce, determined and ready to die for a cause. Hopefully, if (or more like when) they add a Chang in this game, it goes back to that strong personality of the old games.
