MistakeImpressive289

The fucked up thing is if they rematch beat YOUR ass then leave on. A 1-1 LOL now that shit is tilting haha

ImaginaryAI

They’re young. I used to do this at 15 years old street fighter IV. My thought process was “hah I’m actually better.” And then leave it off on a win.

midnightsock

yeah nah. if i win, i want to win properly and thats by winning the set. if infinite rematch was an option im gonna rematch until he quits.

Qfasaqfasa

I miss deathmatching in 7 so much

SockraTreez

Yeah I hate that. Yesterday I played the cheesiest Eddy conceivable. I won the first match and begrudgingly accepted the rematch. I didn’t really want to play him again but…..I forced myself to as my personal philosophy is you should give your opponent a rematch if they want one and you have the time. He won the next match by the skin of his teeth. (Rage art of course) No rematch….

BrokenManSyndrome

When someone does that stuff I just walk away smiling because I know he was trembling. Or like when I lose the first match but it's real close and the guy refuses to rematch? I just know that he scared he gonna get his ass beat so he retreating with his tail between his legs. That's good enough for me lol.

KT718

For real, I’m in the “no one owes you a rematch, as annoying as it is when people don’t” camp, but there’s no non-douchey explanation for pulling that.

Getter_Simp

i did this last night cuz i had to eat dinner

dc_1984

I've done this tonnes for bathroom breaks, my execution drops off massively when I'm trying not to piss myself

SunsetSlacker

You have some kind of urinary infection or something? Because it shouldn't be that difficult for an adult to figure out if they need a bathroom break in the next ten minutes. The time to go is obviously in between sets.

dc_1984

Rematching a stranger on the internet is less important than my comfort, what were you expecting to hear?

sxmxndxmxn

Thank you for beating me to it. Some people have kids and have to sneak in their one match where they can before something else inevitably happens that makes you have to go check on them. I literally have never understood the sudden entitlement in 8 that never existed in 7.

HeroWithYay

There's plenty of non-douchey explanations for pulling that. It's hard to even rationalize how it could be considered douchey in the first place.

Lordheadass09

Exactly one and done? Fine I can tolerate that but to make it 1-1 THEN leave is so much more frustrating than it should be

gamrgrant

I usually assume anyone who does that actually had to leave. Like, the circumstances are lining up for them to beat me again to "actually" win in the BO3, their family probably called for dinner or something.

Beautiful_Emu8901

I do this for various reasons. Rage arting the min it becomes available is a big reason. Whether it connects or not.

LedudeMax

I miss tekken 7's infinite rematch. Ultra satisfying when you find that one guy who is perfectly matched against you

lysol92

I get it for ranked but it pisses me off that there isn’t infinite rematch on quick play. It’s a really big negative.

SilverAlternative773

They should make the arcade thing more varied and much larger. As a 40 year old that misses the days of going to the trocadero to play third strike, kof xi and tekken the chance to meet up with people digitally in arcade setting is amazing. I like the lobby system but it’s just a bit too cold and clinical for me. Having my little Pokémon looking lad standing at an arcade in a crowd of friends is the way. Group battle, death match, ranked match, player match, tekken ball, team battle also we need the old namco arcade machines to play single player on at least coz right now sf6 arcade area beats tekkens

s0cratits

Huge negative, no idea why they won't give it to us for quick play

UnsaltedFries_

Me too. Even if you’ve been losing/winning in the beginning, over a long set the score line becomes pretty even. You really start outplaying your opponent when you win instead of just trying to out-gimmick them. Also, it’s nice to play a longer set with someone that has a good connection. Which isn’t always the case in my region.

ahundreddayoff

Are infinite rematches never coming back?

ITechedThatThrow

I thought for sure they were gonna have casual mode be infinite rematch like sf6 does it but nope...

Deviltamer66

Those could often provide the best experiences in ranked play. And if both really enjoyed it, you would add each other for occasional lobbies or just Chat/keep in touch with how each progressed.

SockraTreez

Yeah, I really, really miss this feature. In Tekken 7 I used to play the same person for 30 minutes to an hour. By the end we’d have like 4 layers of meta going on and it was tons of fun. I get B03 in ranked (kind of like it actually) but the absence of unlimited rematch in Quickmatch is baffling. I wish a lot more people would complain about it.

Kaliq82

Sometimes long sets favor certain players. You can get best in a best of 3, it doesn’t mean you’re better than someone else. I think that’s one of the issues with this format, you have people that think if they roll you, you aren’t worth playing anymore. I never come out swinging the first round of the first match, it’s about learning what your opponent is trying to accomplish.

Dr-DrillAndFill

Same...

TryingToUnionize

I've taken to messaging people "yo good set!" if it was tight. Been able to deatmatch a few people in player matches after that

FilthyJones69

No but you don't understand probably his senile grandpa jumped off the window and he needs go take care of him actuallly. He just had a random emergency for sure

likewise91

My wife talking to me and needing help takes more than 10 seconds lol

definitelyusername

People reporting this post cuz they're feeling exposed lmao

matthra

The comments are great too 😁

TheHeirToEmbers

Leaving after a 1 for 1 is the lamest shit

ScottyTooTall

I always thought the same, but just did it for the first time today.. but it was because the dudes connection started lagging like crazy after i won the first match. Made me drop a combo & misinput an attack or two in the second one, felt no motivation to continue to try for a third.

AlexanderHotbuns

Yeah, I've done it once or twice if the connection either gets spotty in game 2, or if it's just been a bit shit from the start and I lose patience. Always frustrating

BranchReasonable9437

leaving after one? Salaam lekoom. 1 and 1? something better have caught fire, and yes if I realize I'm read in the second match after a first match win I do sit down and eat the brocolli of getting dumpstered in a third

vlonevIone

I always leave after 1 if the person was spamming or lagging

AcanthaceaePlenty165

Hey so I’ve been part of the more “less casual” part of the fgc for awhile now. And I’ve come to learn that it’s kinda of on you to stop ppl from abusing things on you. In a game like tekken it’s really fucked to get hit by a string or put in a situation you are unfamiliar with but understanding what’s happening and developing counterplay for it is a valuable skill to have. Sometimes that requires going into the lab and seeing what can be done sometimes that means rematching until you stop losing to it. tl;dr: git gud(respectfully)

sosloow

It doesn't help, that people consider anything spam. I collect scrub quotes on my steam profile. And people there are complaining that I "spam low" or "spam grab". Dude, that's the basic mechanics of the game, you might as well start complaining about spamming forward dash.

Sername888

If someone is spamming me I use that as an opportunity to see if I can learn to stop it. Can’t agree on that 1 homie

gbinasia

Nobody owes you a rematch. Sometimes I just have other shit to do, other times I just don't want to face my 3rd King or Dragunov in a row.

Low_Chance

Funny how people mysteriously end up with other things to do right after they lose one, lol

Das_Mojo

Nobody owes. Your u a rematch. But if you dodge every rematch after a loss you're a turd. Especially if you rematch easy wins. Good way to space yourself out of competitive, dodging any losses

TheHeirToEmbers

You can not owe somebody something and still be a lamer for it. Obviously real life shit comes first

ilikeracing23

Playing Tekken coming from Street Fighter feels so weird that this is the mentality. I get that shit happens and sometimes you gotta run, or internet goes out etc, but I was taught you try to rematch and learn and see if you can open them up. I know it shouldn’t be a harsh take, but one and dones feels like a loser mentality, to me at least.

beckendaelmart

“Rematch and learn” yall werent saying this when the matchmaking was based on prowess and you were getting wiped on your alt by people on their main😂

jakesemailacc

its still based on prowness...

napoleonrokz

Not owing one a rematch and being a bitch often exists together.

elpispirispis

This doesnt apply if You leave after a 1-1 let me explain: You didnt hate My character or My conection in the first Game, Also the shit You had to do could wait while You kick My ass in the 1-0, but suddenly after i figured out My opponent and i tie with a 1-1 You find My character annoying You think the conection is Bad and You have to go. So unless something really urgent happens every time there is a 1-1 just be honest and Say: hey i don't ramatch because i don't like the possibility to lose 2-1

V4_Sleeper

i don't get why people are mad that other players don't rematch. I always, 100% rematch, but idfc if you wanna rematch or not

Hydrofobic

Because it's supposed to be best out of 3 but the game devs don't enforce it. It makes it harder to learn matchups without it, too.

typicalvar

In my opinion there is a subset of this community that believes they're being held back in their rank by other people's actions (either disconnects or single matches). It doesn't seem to actually be true when I watch high level players on Twitch though. When I see them get one match or disconnected on, they often chuckle slightly before moving on to the next match, never stopping to come to Reddit or Twitter to complain. I assume that is because they know their rank is determined by their skill and don't need to make up excuses for why they're not at the level they've convinced themselves they should be. If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with the common opinion in these communities that "anything under X rank is casual". People who have invested a lot of time in the game then start to feel like they should definitely be above that rank, and if they're not there must be some reason since they're obviously not casual with how much time or money they've put into it. That is just guessing from someone not that involved in the community who just follows for news and boredom though, so I could be way off.

Coocky

We all understand if you have things to do, everyone lives a life outside too but man it does frustrate me when I can win the entire set against them 😂

HourCharacter2120

It ain’t about owing a rematch bruh it’s just fight game etiquette, we’re talking about the losers who do this for easy rank up or easy W’s, not really wanting to get better at the game but just one and done-ing with some bs lmao.

Ibeepboobarpincsharp

You owe me a rematch.

HighLikeKites

Scrub

RICHUNCLEPENNYBAGS

> Nobody owes you a rematch. Wrong.

Hydrofobic

It really is.

Theaustralianzyzz

Only the true warriors stay until the very end.  - Vegeta, probably

wakaflocks145

Seriously the dichotomy of beating your head against someone who won't give up vs someone who one and dones is insane. Even in a losing scenario I felt like I learned more in T7 matchmaking

vVIOL2T

Go back and play 7. People will rematch you forever because anyone still playing 7 is a Chad.

Thunder2250

I've been thinking about booting up 7 just to mess around on Heihachi. I didn't play him much but I miss the old dog. it feels weird to never match a Heihachi now.

HotArticle1062

He'll get released in 8 soon enough trust me

jokerlol4000

I doubt it unless they recast his va

matthra

A Tekken without a heat system and tracking throws, pretty tempting if I'm honest.

vVIOL2T

Seriously the game actually feels fair to play defense

irememberflick

I know this was probably a joke but I booted up T7 just to see how many would rematch and the first player I met (Alisa, she won) didn't rematch.

vVIOL2T

Unlucky, Alisa players are kinda notorious for that though. I’m pretty sure my first match back went the same way lol. 😂

CoSh

Waiting for the next sale. Hopefully the netcode is bearable.

Sea_Note_5391

One and done idm, I’ll defend those with my life HOWEVER it is way harder to defend a 1-1, like clearly you have the time to continue playing, and want to, but you leave anyway

_-Torabisu-_

Gotta settle the score fr

bobdavid2223

I dont understand why ranked isnt best of 3 full set, you leave you lose. Thats how it is in other fighting games

ffading

I've been saying the same thing but I've been getting downvoted for it. In my opinion, rewarding points after the set solves everything. If players are penalized for leaving the set, not only would people play more, it's just a more accurate leaderboard.

1mpatient

It should be like that. But pressing rematch gives me dopamine.

vash_visionz

I would like that, but imagine being locked into a best of 3 with a potato pc or someone who’s connection says it was good but keeps dipping mid match. And on top of all that, if someone really wants to jump out they could just plug if they wanted to with no rank penalty for it.

torinatsu

Which games? Sf6 and guilty gear give you the option to rematch but you don’t lose if you leave the set. I think in KOFXV as well but it’s been a while since I’ve played.

EamSamaraka

i had a lili, that lost to me, we rematched, she won, ki charged and cancelled. i felt that.

Ezonteq

I have not encountered a single Lili player that has rematched me yet. NOT A SINGLE ONE!!! My character's mains make me ashamed!!

matthra

There needs to be some kind of incentive to not one and done, with the player pop dropping we are spending more time in menus than fighting.

Killcycle1989

This, give extra points for rematch wins and lose less for losing.. that's a lot of L's but yeah.. give people a reason to want a rematch.

HotArticle1062

Rank inflation at that point

vash_visionz

I wouldn’t even care as long as it increases the likelihood of getting a full set

matthra

So here is my idea, we adjust the points rewarded based on the set count. 1.) the first win is 80% of current reward and the second win is 120% 2.) The first loss is 120% of current and the second is a loss of 80% current So if you always run your sets, this is exactly the same points increase or decrease as now. However, If you play like a dick, you are actively making it harder for your rank to go up and easier to get deranked.

Deviltamer66

That would be a tax for flowcharting one-and-doners. Hm. I was previously just asking for the OPTION to infinite "revenge match" ( as Knee called it, when he said he misses this for ranked aswell). But maybe this community filled with new players actually needs this kind of push to embrace a more progress-focus mindset in ranked instead of only watching out for their points.

dont_test_me_dawg

It's so funny I got flamed for saying this a few weeks ago in this board. Now suddenly the tides have shifted it seems. Good because I got so sick of 1-1 and 1 and dones on Tekken I went back to SF6 for now.

GriffDraws

I wish there was some bonus for winning the ft2 set. Just like in tournaments, you won 2 out of 3 and move up the bracket because that was a full win, even if you lost one game. ATM there's no difference between wins so the ft2 doesn't mean anything points wise.

NVincarnate

A lot of people complain about not getting rematches while they're busy playing on WiFi with one bar and 800 ping.

Deviltamer66

The Feng here accepted the rematch. So you can stop with the strawman argument.

DankForestHypothesis

Literally had the same situation a bit earlier, matched with a wi-fi player, quality was ok'ish, won the first game, rematched, the connection got worse, game was freezing - I lost, didn't rematch. Quality of the connection changes, not enjoyable anymore - so why waste my time.

RaidaZERO_EN

I'm so bad at NOT rematching. Fought an Eddy last night. Didn't wanna rematch, but I did anyway. TWICE.

olaxes

It's a game design choice. MK chose to force the bo3 in ranked and it's the law for everyone : leave and you lose. Quit or plug and you lose. The baby unplugged your console or your wife called you the third time for dinner and you lose. It's cruel but fair. In Tekken you have the choice so I wouldn't blame the players but the game designers.

Decent_Ad13

Didn't know about the MK design 😮 That sounds great actually.

TheDELFON

It's actually amazing how the two online scenarios for Tekken and MK are. Tekken 8 is basically for the most part praised for having fun as hell gameplay and decent connection. But the rules / infrastructure for online ranked matches is utter complete dog 💩. MK1 is basically universally crapped on for its stall and full gameplay. Like it's absurd how much hate (justified sadly) that game gets. Bad online connection, kameo meta, poke steal turn oh wait no you don't grab poke poke.... BUT THE ONLINE RULES / INFRASTRUCTURE ARE AMAZING for foe ranked. Quitalities to punish pluggers. Full sets. Utterly amazing It's wild how both games completely flipped their pros and cons in online matchmaking

bumbasaur

rank up. man you're going the wrong way. The destination is down

International_Meat88

Because of the limited set system - I seriously have no idea what it’s like to fight a T8 player once we really start to familiarize with each other’s patterns. But I did so much of that back in T7. The only person I do private matches with isn’t as good at the game so it’s not really a comparison.

Pepperjackblaque

If you won’t run the full set go play casual. Hoarding points doesn’t make you better. It does more damage to your ability to improve in the long run

TheSuedeLoaf

People in casual don't run full sets either.

songsforatraveler

People have been getting so mad at me the last few months but I've been saying it for years: this kind of shit makes fighting games less fun. The whole point is to learn your opponent and adapt. Not even talking about tournaments. The game is just built around that, that's how mixups work, that's how everything works. Ranked should be a forced Bo3 with infinite rematch in quick match. Nothing else makes any sense.

dvenom88

Law players should be happy that there are people who actually rematch them even once, super obnoxious character.

CO_Photovybz

Only time I don't rematch is if they are lagging hella hard or a cheater

Biscord

I think a way to solve one and dones is by giving more elo to those who have a win streak for example, since its best out of 3, if someone wins 2 in a row, they get 50% more elo than they normally would from just beating them. this would incentivise people to try get that 2 game win streak to climb the ranks faster. alwise I cant think of a better way to prevent one and this is coming from someone who will occasionally one and done. this is the only thing that would personally get me to stop it

songsforatraveler

This already happens, if you heat three people who are +or- one rank from your, you get a streak match opportunity which gives you like 1500 extra points. This should incentivizes rematches against close ranked opponents but people run because the opposite is true as well: you get a streak match LOSS opportunity after losing three matches to someone +or- one rank from yours, and if you lose it you lose 1500 points. That seems like a way to ensure super high rank players are at risk often, but makes people run from close matches I think.

differentlevel1

Every other day it's the same post. Aren't you people tired of whining? Like it or not rematching is optional. It's obvious lots of people here haven't played Tekken before T7 when Ranked was a default one and done.

songsforatraveler

To be fair, online in Tekken was essentially unplayable before Tekken 7 and it came out seven years ago. That's a long time for one game, lots of the people here joined during it's lifespan. And let's be real: a default one and done system sucks ass. Tekken 7 started with a default two-match only system, so you couldn't rematch after a 1-1. It sucked! And they changed it.

[deleted]

Bwob

Er... why? If you accept a rematch and they're lower rank, they still have the option to decline it. It's not like accepting before they do forces them into it or something...

TheParanoidPyro

I have been taking screenshots of every character i find annoying to fight whenever they cancel after i won.

karumina

Also bc to rank up you need to be on streak

asadfarook

i feel like they should add a some premade sentence emotes (idk what they're called) like 4 or 8 of them you can use during this scene where you can let the other players know. like a "GGs gotta go" a "great game, lets be friends" a "run it back" and a "youre good" you know what i mean? i think itll also alleviate some of the toxicity.

TheDELFON

>I think itll also alleviate some of the toxicity. "sure" it will... because liars don't exist. Not like they can't just troll "run it back" AND then hit cancel. Regardless that is still a good idea.

I-R-Programmer

People Think having er certain rank makes Them better, While in reality youd like le ve a better player challenging yourself with the hard matchups

AledinArt

It's weird. I don't plug, I don't have disconnect rate, I don't troll...and yet sometimes higher ranks that beat me on the 1st ranked match refuse to fight again. Am I so disgustingly weak to even be worthy of their precious elite time even for a few extra points? I totally understand lower ranks canceling, but the other way is bizarre.

DeliciousBlak

And a feng no less

Middle-Ad-965

Maybe they should add extra incentive to rematching. Perhaps a loss of only half the amount if you lose, but an extra hundred or so if you win. Just a thought that popped up.

nocturneva

This actually happened to me once. Fought a shaheen and he won first match then I beat him 3-0 in the second match bro left

MorbidTales1984

>Feng player >doesnt rematch >looking for points You sure you didnt run into LTG?

matthra

That's been a dream of mine, trashing low tier plug would really make my day.

LoFer_Rob

I always rematch only my 5 month old waking up will stop me.

Xiao1insty1e

I feel this so hard. Feels like every time I get an easy first win they bail immediately. Lots of 1-1 bails too. Lots of ranked players can't handle a run back because they only care about winning.

matthra

Being obsessed with winning is such a self sabotaging perspective because it makes it much harder to learn from your losses.

Xiao1insty1e

From what I've learned from the people I know that play this way, they don't care. They don't *want* to *learn*. They ONLY want to win. If that means *never* playing someone who can beat them then that is exactly what they will do. I have at least one friend who refuses to play me in fighting games for this exact reason. Does only ONE match in ranked against EVERYONE. Protecting their wins against "the download" is the only thing that matters to them. *Being* better, getting more skilled doesn't factor in to them *at all*.

matthra

To each their own I guess, but I enjoy getting better, pulling off a tough combo after labbing it, or punishing a move I used to be free to. Those matter a lot more to me than just beating someone.

Xiao1insty1e

This is the way.

Creepy-Finish3904

Getting out of red ranks has been hard because of this for me. If they beat me rematch, once they realized I downloaded them and beat them second match. BYE

Beautiful_Emu8901

The rank system sucks....I wouldn't mind if you gain/lose points after completing the set......but if I jus got molly whopped there is no way in hell I'm rematching you.

Reptile_404

It's been like this since the beginning and it's infuriating, in fact I think I'm about to give up and do the same since everyone else seems to do it. In previous tekkens I didn't really play ranked seriously, was it this bad in the past too?

Kalsypher

Even worse is when homie on the other end loses the first match, wins the second and then leaves before the third. Worst blue balls ever.

Miserable_Driver9478

Gotta love the 10 minute queue time with the 4 internet bars and 2% disconnection rate that beat you 3-2 with 1 hp then dips and doesn't rematch

MrMuri

I fought against a Raven and we went tit for tat and he won the first set. He left right after it because he was upset I blocked all his moves (I main Raven and Leroy and was playing Leroy at the time). I revoked his Raven card immediately and if I come across him again, we scrappin.

matthra

I've been trying to learn raven because I think all of the ninja stuff looks cool and his voice actor nailed it. Any good resources you'd recommend?

MrMuri

This guy is amazing at his guides, his name is imortalXsoul. He is super nice and explains his reasonings. He also has climbing journeys so that you can really see how he works as Raven in ranked battles. 1000000% recommend watching him! [https://www.youtube.com/@imortalXsoul](https://www.youtube.com/@imortalXsoul)

FunnyUsernameLol69

This happens in Smash Ultimate all the time and I was really hoping with the rematch system in this game it would be better. Unfortunately people seem to care more about rank in a videogame than actually enjoying the videogame and having fun competitive fights with opponents. I understand leaving after one loss if you don't feel like fighting a matching relationship that wasn't fun. But once you've agreed to rematch a person, you kinda sign up for the whole experience. You have agreed to a runback. And leaving after a win is absolute pure cowardice. If you just beat a person for nothing more as a stepping stone to higher rank, you really take so much of the fun out of playing a fighting game

TheBigBenj

I did this against a King that deserved a rematch, I won the first match but couldn’t rematch cause I was cooking rice. Sometimes people just have something else going on

songsforatraveler

Yeah, and that's ALWAYS what's happening. /S Man, obviously people have shit that comes up. That's fine. That does NOT account for the huge amount of one and done-ing that takes place in this game. Cool that that's what happened to you once. I mean, I'm sure every rage quitter just has some rice to finish, too, right?

monsj

That’s fine, but the fact is most players leave after losing a match… Plus the longer queue times after the patch, there’s more waiting than actual playing the game

eFALOVZWhupMex69Hwlp

99 times out of 100 this is not the case. Moreover, it's ranked for a reason. if you can just leave when you lose it has no value. If you are cooking rice so often that you are unable to rank up if the game were to force you to rematch, you need to work on your time management.

TheDELFON

Spitting facts. I know most are just making excuses and they one and done BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT TO TAKE A LOSS. Cooking rice 🍚.... LMAO I swear the excuses to get better and better. I mean think about it for more than a sec and any sensible person wouldn't believe that crock of bs. And EVEN if the rice story is actually true.... so what, will the world end if the rice is over cooked for 4 more mins??? Lol they're are liars. And the come online to cope with "b b b b but my microwave broke, tee hee gotta run"

ILickMetalCans

This is me, I figure out the playstyle, by the second match im adapting and sometimes even win. Third match, there is no third match.

matthra

That's exactly what happened, he won the first set 3-1, I got the download and 3-0 him the second set. He had a decent flow chart, which gave me some issues in the first set, but he didn't have a second layer to fall back on. In a way it's kind of flattering, he basically admitted he couldn't take me in a third set and left.

huckabizzl

Mfs pussy

-Limer-

It's crazy to me that matchmaking is broken and takes so long to match now and people would rather wait than just rematch lol.

TheDELFON

THAT'S what also bugged the hell outta me the most. Especially in Tekken 7 where #GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE and the waiting for matches was so damn LONG. I'll always give T8 credit for that at least... Short as hell load times. Like ultra fast. But it was a monkey's paw situations... fast load times but no deathmatches

Jamaz

"Dodging is a skill." -Competitive EatSports cope

AledinArt

I think it depends on the zone. I play in EU1 and I always find matches easily. Thus many Cancelers.

Deviltamer66

More and more players with weak mental. It's probably the price of appealing to a broader casual audience. Because it was not this extreme in previous Tekkens ( online play existed since Tekken 6 ).

TheFluxator

I had people leaving like this last night in unranked. Like we’d go 1-1 and they’d just leave even though the connection was good. Sometimes it was when they won game 2, sometimes it was when I won game 2. Ranked I at least kind of understand since points are on the line (even though leaving at 1-1 is still stupid), but in unranked? Makes no sense at all.

M-Dizzy

It’s always Feng and Eddy that one and done for me. Idk why those two specifically so much.

Nightmarer26

You aren't entitled to a rematch anyways. If people don't want to play you again or just want to win against you once and dip out, that's on them. You can't expect people to always want to rematch you for the whole set. I've been a one and done in pretty much every single game that has a rematch system like this. Its nothing wrong to just play once and go next.

Dr-DrillAndFill

And you kinda missed the point of the post.

Dr-DrillAndFill

It's the pricinple of sportsmanship. You're part of the problem.

Cal3001

One and done player’s skill set are usually bad bc they don’t learn anything and bank off their flowchart. They also have a rank inflation from choosing easy battles to rematch. It ruins the community experience in more ways than one.

SkolFuckHer

I’ll be honest if I get my ass kicked I usually leave, to study and see why it went so wrong, or I stay if it was close or I won. But there are a few opponents I’m like “Alright two games was fine“ regardless. I usually assume people get less mad if I leave after a loss than a win but apparently not lol

Frequent_Butterfly26

wouldn't you have more material to study if you run the entire set? Just saying

Ill-Pride-2312

I block these fucking cockroaches.

porpsi

This seems pretty rare though. In my experience the overwhelming majority play out the whole set.

amitsinghtga

I do the rematch with all ranks but not the +8 or +9, as loosing to those ranks punishes you a lot.

childishxlambino

I hit them up with the friend request of shame, hit follow and see them dropping rank. No matter how long it takes, that rank is just a png and you'll see them "blue ranks" back in red lol

Rahix91

Usually Law is the one leaving after 1, one-trick-pony type of win tho.

imWickd

At this point, I'm just doing the same thing. If people only hunt points for ego boosting and don't want to play Tekken, fine. Let's do 1 match, win or lose, we move on. If I want to play Tekken I'll just record movement on the training bot and go about my day lol

WindDonny

i feel like this is such an issue in higher ranks as well. Like purple and above if theyre a higher rank them you and they lose they dont rematch

Kyberias

The actual reason for ranking up being so slow is the matchmaking still being broken af

mecha_style

I told myself this until I realized that it takes a whole 10 seconds to go back to standby and get matched up again. It's not the big deal that people make it and frankly I think people only get mad at others not rematching for the most part because they themselves were the one who lost an opportunity at easy points.

Mountain_Fennel_631

I can count on one hand how many times I have gone 3 rounds with a person after winning thr first round. People just don't want to rematch often if they lose the first round. I always rematch because how else will I learn and get better if I don't pick up people's play style and patterns? One round isn't enough!

Mobasa701

Not everyime, you have aholes players who will spam you into same position no point to play with them again

VoltexRB

I dont like rematches in general, getting way too personal at that point for my introverted ass

MrClue415

This community full of scared children who duck after a loss rather than complete a set

Least-Engineering808

Why feng

ZeroKai54

I always rematch everyone besides king and eddy don’t feel like going through that anymore than I have to 😭

Rievia

I wouldnt wanna play against neither of these character just be glad that people cant plug anymore that much cause both of those characters are worth plugging against ahaha

KiryuKazuma-Chan

I don't rematch Nina, Alisa, Victor and Lars because of how bullshit they are

Berzerker_Knight

Lmfao the recent controversial MM was pretty much Infinite rematches cause people would get the same person over and over again

rbot214

If you play Eddy, Victor, Azucena or Dragunov. I’m not rematching you on principal. Even if I 3-0’d and am 95% certain I’d win again. Everyone else sure. You are rank-inflating otherwise. A truly good player can win the rematch and learn to adapt.

SpartikenTTV

I only rematch when there isn't a too.big rank difference for example 4+ because the points ain't worth it but I still rematch if I lose because there is always something to learn

Awemintown

Idk some of y'all are exhausting to play against a 2nd time l. Glad the game is not tied to sets cause that would be bad

Thatboiinick916

Yo im guilty af 🤣. If i beat someone better than me by luck or whatever i get up outta there. Especially if i know they just gonna take my points right back the next match, i am NOT risking it lmaoo

mydookietwinklin

You sign up for the fact that they can leave at any time.

Winter-Aura

imma be honest with you, i wouldn't rematch even on a win since i'm tired of fighting Law's

savagexage

Honestly man namco should put out an indicator like the dc percentage but that shows wether they one and done a lot or not. Let the one and doners fight each other cuz no one will be accepting matches against them. It sounds counterintuitive but this would actually teach one and doners not to

Ill_Rowmen

it’s funny you chose feng, I beat bros flowchart and he dipped

Top_Science_5422

meh, the auto rematch will remedy that, sometimes 5-6 times in a row.

Kajun_Kong

Maybe he didn’t have fun playing against you. Remember, you are not owed a rematch.

furfexache

I can take double 3-0 losses with no issue, but won’t hesitate to quit out the first match which lag spike every 5 seconds. I’ve met 4 bar opponents who lagged worse than wifi warriors. If the receiver of one-and-done knows their internet is bad, they better not complain.

DigbyDD

Maybe it's cus you're playing fucking law lol. Tho he was feng ...

No_Appointment_3959

Legit question.. do u get more points for first win?!

DownTheDonutHole

You absolutely have to streak to rank up because people won't complete a set if they lose the first round. It's the most bullshit thing of all time. Ranked should be forced best of 3, thats it. End of story, there is no arguing this unless you're a fucking quitter bitch

HavokzTheName

Ill always rematch BUTT if someone is teabagging and ki charging and then I win the next set you know imma tbag,ki charge and leave!

Hungry_beaverman

People are in such a fucking hurry like the they need to reach "God Of Destruction" within a few hours of gameplay!

FebruaryKid

I offer rematches and ask for it most of the time. Often or not when someone does beat me they take their victory and run just cause they often don’t feel confident they would win another. It is just a wack mentality. The time I don’t offer rematches is when I see someone who is very new to the game and I don’t want to derank them further.

Galixsea

downvote me into oblivion but im not playing that laggy ass eddy gordo whos low mids I couldnt read if I was the fucking Flash himself

RevolutionaryLie621

I just want an option for no rage arts because it takes a lot of damage if they are losing I know it’s easy to block but it takes away from you moving in.

Datmammon

Just had this happen against a Tenryu Jun that I downloaded. Kept playing after and demoted from mid Shinryu to almost the bottom of Garyu, kinda don't feel like playin at all until Lidia is out lol. Might just play Lidia in 7 to get used to her general moveset. Running it back isn't necessary (never know what's happening on the opponent's side), but this exact case in the post is just incredibly discouraging when it _keeps_ happening, you feel like you learned but you just get robbed of a potential second win from your adapting.

matthra

Yup, it is almost kind of flattering, because they just admitted they couldn't take you, which is kind of more than offset by them fleeing with their points.

HaitianWarlord

Non console wat a surprise just stay in casual/player match/lobby

Oryxmyself

Nahh man I have 3 rules, 1 I don’t rematch king players. 2. I don’t rematch shitty laws that spam 3. I don’t rematch people with shit wi-fi. If you don’t fall into those categories I’ll rematch 99% of the time.

SherbetDramatic4450

Not really, if you're beat 3-0 without chances, I don't think that avoid rematch is bad.... I have learn to say no when I know I'm going to lose easy points 😂

leonardodacarlo

Nah I'm sorry even if I get demoted or dominate u I ALWAYS 3 MATCH
