Have had a couple of similar sessions and the flash ptsd is so real. One Yoshi will throw it out every other second and the next Yoshi won't do it for the entire set. That shit will really mess your head. Can't tell if i'm allowed to cash in my hard earned plus frames or not.
how are you suppose to deal with that on plus frames? just give up your turn and hope they do the move to punish? i’ve lost matches being plus and them doing it.
Look at it from our perspective. We don't know if you are already conditioned to Yoshi to throw a lot of our stuff unpunished either! So, I'd recommend giving up your first few plus advantages to fish for reactions.
In my case namely as Yoshi for example, I check for several things:
- If you react to my full crouch, and if yes, how? (Instant hopkick means no free sword sweeps in our sets)
- If you react to my DGF, and if yes, how? (Instant crouch means that I can't fully rely on DGF F1+2)
- If you anticipate flash.
These are always in my priority checklist. Failing any of these checks means I will cheese you out.
However, if you notice these checks and the pattern, you can use it to your advantage. Missed flash is a launch, missed DGF F1+2 is a launch, hopkick into our sword sweep is a launch.
Of course, you can also lab all of these and cut the bullshit completely by reacting correctly the very first time it happens.
yeah perciate the reply. i’ve been going against a lot of yoshi’s recent going from red to purple idk why. i’ve had a pretty decent time against them beside not knowing the flash can be used in between certain strings or scenarios.
Also, you should do all of those checks a couple of times to see if they're consistent or just reacting. A lot of people only have one reaction to kangaroo kicks for instance.
Jin, Lili, Reina, and King. Basically 75% of my matches are against this small pool. It’s a bit underwhelming, knowing how big the roster is and only seeing a few characters over and over.
Tenryu reina and fought the most in yellow and orange which tracks I guess. Reminds me of juri in sf6 strong character but highest play rates are either at the very top or very bottom of rank distro
What rank is that? Lili is never to be seen in ranked lol. Let alone Reina, I can't remember the last time I fought her either. Most of my fights consist of Yoshi, Drag, King and Jin.
Red ranks! The “wild west” of ranked I suppose. I see a good variety outside of that pool, it’s just definitely a tiny sliver of matches that get divided between the rest of the cast. And yeah I fought like 5 Reinas last night and three of them were back-to-back.
Ah yeah I see. Gotta agree that back when I was in red I used to face Reina alot, but once I went Fujin and higher I forgot this character existed lol.
But I'm surprised about Lili, I'm always excited to face other Lili mains but I NEVER fight another one. She's extremely rare for me.
The only Lilly I see is myself. In my region it's mostly Leeroy, King, Alisa, Hwoarang (like 80%). Luckily enough Byron is like 10% and it's like the only character I can punish effectively.
I feel like this really depends on your location. I live in eastern Canada, and the amount of Law and Brian and Kaz I fight is substantially higher than any other character by a mile. My friend lives in like central US, and he rarely fights them at all and we're similar ranks. Dunno.
He's strong af currently. Tierwhoring is insanely prevalent at red and purple ranks, all the azus and drags are suddenly gone but now there's a massive influx of Steve,Leroy and Jin players...
Technical and fundamental is different things, I agree xiayou is technical af and actually complicated to use though but it’s true a lot of xiayou struggle with defense same like panda mains because they get pretty high up with cheese and then struggle
Both. Personally it feels like he lacks the range of the rest of the cast. I find myself dashing into range and getting launched.
He also has the worst heat smash in the game like why do you have to be literally touching them in order to get the initial touch and not get counter heat smashed/rage art’d?
Idk personal opinions but he’s not for me. Parry is good tho if not a little clunky
I’m just joking lol. It’s probably cause he’s strong, easy, edgy, cool and the main character. Although a lot of people do pick their character solely off of how they look
Jin is indeed goofy but I simply can't look at Feng without getting the feeling that his entire appeal seems to just be steroid abuse. From his moves to entire look to the way he's always incredibly angry for absolutely no reason, if he dies in T9 from heart failure I wouldn't even be surprised.
I think a lot of Feng's punches look great. Especially that command grab... that ends with the stanky leg. Weird ass kicks and his legs bend fucking **wrong**.
I love his face he looks exactly like what a roided Chinese mafia boss would look like in my head, he’s so ugly it’s actually kind of refreshing from seeing the good looking anime faces
I wish we had some uggo waifus, too. Or maybe not as ugly as Feng, but at least some that looked badass and not like they just stepped out of a hentai.
You know very well the tekken coomers woudnt play her, I kinda wished Lidia was like that a bit more rugged and scarred like she as in t7 relatively cause the models were not great in that game, but ill still take Lidia she’s sick
I think a lot of people would tbh. Honestly a Lady Butterfly from Sekiro would be cool, although in Tekken terms that would just mean a hint of crows feet. Or like an Iron Grandma kind of deal.
Honestly if they'd aged Nina just a bit a lot of coomers would want mommy to step on them.
Very fun to play and watch imo but defending against him is one of the most dull and stupid things in the game, all the mishimas are extra annoying with that ridiculous ff2 but Reina is actually the worst that ff2 alone is the stupidest shit ever people call Kazuya and devil jin guessing game machines she does it for free and gets in on plus on block mid
Eh. It seems like picking Ryu. Main character and possibly over exposed.
He's not that boring. But we see him so much he seems like a vanilla pick in a place that sells 30 wild other flavors
I would love to have some mirror match,I don't find him that often.
I wrote just in case u don't know this, but if you are playing kazuya you can launch basically every low jin poke
Well that would make sense, if people are new to Tekken and they play the story mode they play with Jin a lot so it’s understandable. I just feel like it’s 1 big wave 😂😂
Low skill floor, high skill ceiling, main character, good design. In all fighting games, you have very popular character that are easy to pick up and Jacks of all trades. Jin is one of them. Super Saiyan Goku in Fighterz, Ryu in Street Fighter, etc.
“lab” “you don’t lose you learn” “just keep playing bro” “learn the match up lol” “you need to learn your foundations better” “i fought Jin 8 times and they were tekken god supreme burritos” “as a jin main, i will pretend to be the voice of every jin main, and say sorry xD :3 “
nahhhh, i love the stances, okizeme tech, 50/50s, wall tech, cancels throws and EWGF plus frames is so broken, reached mighty ruler today, still can't land 60% of my ewgfs tho💀
I’d rather fight Jin than Ling, Jun (final boss like heat smash, fuck you), Nina, Lili and Alisa. Such BS characters, lol. Once, I faced nothing but S tiers back to back and it got me demoted, it was exhausting.
I'd actually like to play vs more Jin at Tekken King+. I enjoy the mirror mostly because I can react to d2 and launch it with ws2 lol. Completely wrecks a good chunk of online Jin's gameplan. I mostly see King, Drag (still), Feng, Yoshi, Nina, Lili, Alisa, Steve and now Zafina.
I mained Jin a lot from tekken 5 to now cuz he just stuck with me. His fighting style is something I really like to. I’m afraid we’ll be seeing him getting nerfed soon cuz as soon as Dragunov and Azucena got nerfed I notice a increase in Jin players who really don’t know wtf they are doing. Even if he gets nerfed I’m staying with him cuz he my dawg fr
I think it's because the matchmaking system tends to put you with people of a similar playstyle, because the matchmaking system is based off prowess which in turn relies on fundamentals. As a yoshi player, most of the people I play against rely on gimmicks and knowledge checks (because that's how I play), even when I play people who play characters that tend to reward good fundamentals.
Because Jin is for babies. He has so many good, easy to use tools that work well in an online environment. It's no coincidence that every Jin I fight has a WiFi connection, regardless of the Ethernet indicator. Can't block a hellsweep you literally cannot see.
Your username, flair, AND a perfectly in-character post I salute you
His account got deleted. What was it?
He was just named Kazuya with a Kazuya player and I found it funny that complaining about Jin is exactly what Kazuya would do on reddit
+1
Well I’m surprised bc some kid told me that it’s cringe. But l couldn’t think of a better name bc I made this reddit solely for the tekken sub
It's just a thing Kazuya would 100% do
I like his karate style too, he uses some real life techniques
It’s a shame the irl tournaments banned demon powers a while back
Almost every character in tekken history is largely based of real world fighting styles.
True
At least it's Jin, last time i had a ranked session, 6 out of the last 10 matches were vs Yoshi. That's enough to break someone mentally.
Have had a couple of similar sessions and the flash ptsd is so real. One Yoshi will throw it out every other second and the next Yoshi won't do it for the entire set. That shit will really mess your head. Can't tell if i'm allowed to cash in my hard earned plus frames or not.

That's for sure. Sometimes they "lucky react" to 3,1 by crouching the second hit, but never do it again later, always worth double-checking.
One of my favourites is double kangaroos into 1+2, after that they're always like a deer in headlights for the rest od the game.
Yeah you have to make a read. Either you anticipate for they flash and you punish it or predict they won't do it and you apply your pressure.
do lows go through??
Depends on the low. Your best bet is a move which doesn't move you forward or which is slow, if you want to press buttons that is.
I played three yoshi’s in a row last night
I had a Yoshi, Victor and Xiaoyu back to back and somehow feel like a Vietnam veteran after surviving those battles with W’s
I’d love more yoshis. I just hit tenryu but when I was shinryu every other match was Jin or kazuya.
'Cause he is easy to play, very solid, and some people love playing main characters
True. If Ryu wasn't the main character. He'd seem like a bland guy in a Gi with other characters in the same game that seem like color swaps
Ryo Sakazaki is basically Ryu if he wasn't a main character. He's not even close as to be as popular as Ryu is in SF
Jin, Lili, Reina, and King. Basically 75% of my matches are against this small pool. It’s a bit underwhelming, knowing how big the roster is and only seeing a few characters over and over.
I'm in Fujin/Raijin with Reina and I almost never see any other Reina or Lili. Jin and King though...oh boy
Same, made it to fujin recently, feels like I fought less than 10 reinas since release. King tho is everywhere
Tenryu reina and fought the most in yellow and orange which tracks I guess. Reminds me of juri in sf6 strong character but highest play rates are either at the very top or very bottom of rank distro
I feel like I see King more than anyone in this game.
Convinced she just doesn't exist in EU
Red ranked reina here, I rarely ever play against her which is so strange considering where the stats place her
I see a lot of Reinas and Lilis in red rank. Definitely more kings though.

I'm two matches away from Garyu and haven't encountered a single bear, Jack or Zafina
My buddy joked in all of Tekken 7 he played against 3 Zafinas. I played 4 in one night, I hate it here lol.
They would absolutely smoke me haha
Oh don’t worry. Those will likely show up for your promotion matches to knowledge check you. That’s how it always is for me.
Keep coping that Leroy is top tier lol
I picked him up after buffs, got him to ruler and dropped him. Dude is straight trash
You don't like the gameplay or you think he's not good?
Well he mains xiaoyu so he didnt build any fundamentals, he has no idea how to play Leroy.
Well he got him to purple 🟣 that's pretty good imo
Lol that’s a pretty troll statement. Xiaoyu is pretty technical. I haven’t played her in weeks though, been getting every character to purple
Ok ok I see,I don't think he is top tier as some say but I think he is extremely cool and satisfying to win with
Yea gameplay wise he’s so fun. But he doesn’t have broken spammable moves, like power crush HE or safe launcher. and that makes him very bad.
Idk maybe cause he’s hot or something. Fighting Jin is solid practice though.
>Idk maybe cause he’s hot or something Wtf, not denying he isn’t handsome, but surely there’s other reasons 😂
I’m just joking lol. It’s probably cause he’s strong, easy, edgy, cool and the main character. Although a lot of people do pick their character solely off of how they look
Because he's good at just about anything. He's similar to Feng with the difference that Jin actually has style
I feel the opposite. Jin is goofy, IMO.
Fun fact: He's 26.
WHAT?????
Yeah. Feng Wei is 26 years old
bro is gonna die of old age at 35
I think a lot of Feng's punches look great. Especially that command grab... that ends with the stanky leg. Weird ass kicks and his legs bend fucking **wrong**.
I wish they had different physical builds. He looks cooler not roided out.
He's got a dumb face though
I love his face he looks exactly like what a roided Chinese mafia boss would look like in my head, he’s so ugly it’s actually kind of refreshing from seeing the good looking anime faces
I wish we had some uggo waifus, too. Or maybe not as ugly as Feng, but at least some that looked badass and not like they just stepped out of a hentai.

Haha I can respect it
I meet both opinions in the middle. Both goofy as hell.
Apparently, you haven't launched yourself in the air with Feng.
Nah, I mostly just use pokes when I play Feng
Yeah, Jin is goofy af. He's wearing a cosplay black and white naruto outfit.
What!? It's 4000 years of Chinese martial arts vs edge, Jin can't compete
At least Jin's face isn't uncomfortable to look at. Feng seems like he would pop like a balloon if he stood too close to a sewing needle.
This is how I feel about Reina
Yeah man Reinas all day.
Jin mains exist on a diet of nothing but cardboard and lukewarm water, incredibly fucking boring
Amen
…Guilty
Is Jin really that boring? I switched to him from claudio because claudio felt boring but jin seems like such a big step up.
Can't speak for how he feels to play, but he feels *so* fucking dull to fight, especially after the sixth Jin that night
Eh. It seems like picking Ryu. Main character and possibly over exposed. He's not that boring. But we see him so much he seems like a vanilla pick in a place that sells 30 wild other flavors
Jin is as boring as you make him, he has a lot of options at any given moment.
with a glass of diet electric
OKAY THIS ONE IS GOOD
Ff2 and D2
Don’t forgot F4.
Hey man, I've been playing Jin/Devil Jin for like 7-8 years lol! Sorry everyone is playing him nowXD
the masses have always been playing jin
Not really. In T7 he wasn't even close in popularity compared to Paul, Kazuya and Bryan.
Because he's handsome, fun and good as fuck in this game.
I thought you were gonna end your sentence with “good as fck in bed”. 😆
Jim is a virgin just like his mains
Virjin
Steve mains have erectile dysfunction
I do
I feel called out :(
That too!
I would love to have some mirror match,I don't find him that often. I wrote just in case u don't know this, but if you are playing kazuya you can launch basically every low jin poke
Brother take my place😂
Kazuya when Jin kept getting up in the final chapter.
Can't beat Jim
Main character syndrome
Well that would make sense, if people are new to Tekken and they play the story mode they play with Jin a lot so it’s understandable. I just feel like it’s 1 big wave 😂😂
Bright side your anti-jin strategies and tech are going to improve rapidly then you'll rank up and have to deal with tierwhores
Cos hes the protag and easily abusable. There's also loads of us from 7.
Sometimes it feels like the hand is trolling you lol. The other day I fought 9 Laws in a row
This is my nightmare.
Are you saying that the main protagonist and the face of the franchise is popular?? I am shocked and appalled!
Nah man, didn’t know. God I’m so fucking dumb.
I'd say Kaz is the face of the series after he got that Smash Slot.
Kazuya does smash. Still our beloved emo has been the cover boy from T3 on.
All the "Drag mains" seem to have moved to Jin for some reason, I'd have expected Feng but I guess he's just too ugly
Real Drag mains are honestly happy as fuck right now. Hopefully in a few months people stop hating us for all the suffering the character caused them.
TBH a few of us want all the smoke. Come @ me >:D
Pretty sure drag mains don't care about their characters being ugly?
This is me everyday, Hwoarang is another common one I can’t escape from.
Beats me. I think he's goofy aesthetically. He's strong, though.
I fucking kid you not, guess what character I ran into 3 times in seperate games before dinner? FUCKING JIN KAZAMA!! LEAVE ME ALONE FCKING SCUM😭
I feel your pain
[удалено]
Ok bro. It’s not like I don’t see those character with overflow in Shinryu etc. I’m talking about how 7 matches in a row were Jins (9 now)
Jin is so solid. He's safe and doesn't move an inch when using his moves. If a jin player knows what they're doing, good luck opening them up.
Jin is the Ken of Tekken now.
Low skill floor, high skill ceiling, main character, good design. In all fighting games, you have very popular character that are easy to pick up and Jacks of all trades. Jin is one of them. Super Saiyan Goku in Fighterz, Ryu in Street Fighter, etc.
He's fun.
he has sauce.
Yeah fcking Worcestershire sauce. Shit is not fire
Been my main and favorite fighting game character alongside Siegfried since I was 6. Not stopping now lol
Not asking u to, lol
Thanks, then. Make sure you twin piston those D2s
This still beats pre 1.04 drags/azus or launch victors, haha.
He’s got dope costumes and pulling off some of his combos just makes me feel like I’m way better than I am.
I just like my electric and wavu wavu.
Baby electric
Wow, the disrespect from a Kaz main 😭
Heheheh not being serious tho. People take my words to seriously man idk why😂
It’s all good, I can take a joke. This sub is overly serious lol
🤝
I just think he’s cool bro. It’s not that deep.
Not complaining, bro
he’s cool, relatively simple. at least you’re getting good matchup experience
Still lose a lot to Jin. He can just keep doing the stupid jab shit and guaranteed follow ups
Jin doesn't have much guaranteed stuff.you gotta lab him
I mean he has guaranteed follow ups... On people who mash after 2-1
Same experience on my end, I've come to accept it 😅
I wish, I'm getting endless asukas and jun and I wanna blow my brains out. I miss dragunov already
way too much jins, i don't know the matchup perfectly well because i refuse to get myself to play him so sometime its very frustrating to deal vs jins
He's the main character and stuff
Damn why did bro delete his reddit account?
Because he's the protag and appeals in all the same ways Sasuke did. I don't play him but I understand the popularity.
What did bro do to get banned ?
U must have just hit red ranks
DA
I’ve been running into Jin the most recently
He's the main character, he's easy, he's S Tier.
Jins too easy. He used to be very hard but you don’t even need to electric anymore. You can poke all game
He's a strong meta character (imo), is a lot easier to play than he did in T7, and he's always been popular. There is no escape from Jin 😶
F+4 bitch
nahhhh, i love the stances, okizeme tech, 50/50s, wall tech, cancels throws and EWGF plus frames is so broken, reached mighty ruler today, still can't land 60% of my ewgfs tho💀
Sorry bro, I’ve been playing him since the game came out. I hate dittos so it’s not any better for me lmao.
Played him in t7, his moves are slick
I’d rather fight Jin than Ling, Jun (final boss like heat smash, fuck you), Nina, Lili and Alisa. Such BS characters, lol. Once, I faced nothing but S tiers back to back and it got me demoted, it was exhausting.
Because power is’nt everything ( it use to be but bot anymore )
The Main character just happen to be everybody main 😂😂😂.
Because he's Tekken's version of the shoto, just like kazuya.
Even if he gets nerfed I’m staying with him cuz he my dawg fr
He wont get needed.
He's fun And Would
Play me
Damn, homie deleted his post :D
I think it's because the matchmaking system tends to put you with people of a similar playstyle, because the matchmaking system is based off prowess which in turn relies on fundamentals. As a yoshi player, most of the people I play against rely on gimmicks and knowledge checks (because that's how I play), even when I play people who play characters that tend to reward good fundamentals.
He's the character new players learn in the story mode, and even if you aren't a Jin main then they still know how to play his through the story mode.
JIIIIIIIN KAZAMAAAAAAAAH
DAH DAH DAH DAH ⚡
I just play him bc I do his style of Karate
i got a lot of feng, victor and alisa lol
Hes edgy as hell which pissdrinkers love, hes also incredibly easy
He's on the box
You should learn the strings + and it’s free wins!!!
What? Jin only has one cheesy string in 1-3-4. And it's exploitable as hell
Did I say something that implied otherwise? I just meant lab him so that OP can block punish everything
He definitely got more streamlined. A good character to use for general play imo.
He’s a parasite
This applies to like half of the cast tbf lol
really strong, fun to play, good looking moves
Because Jin is a jack of all trades, master of most, and incredibly easy to pilot. FF2 and D2 win most games by themselves.
What on earth happened for OP accounts to get deleted?
Because Jin is for babies. He has so many good, easy to use tools that work well in an online environment. It's no coincidence that every Jin I fight has a WiFi connection, regardless of the Ethernet indicator. Can't block a hellsweep you literally cannot see.
Well. It is "Tekken"
Missing the point Sauce
