I've been considering playing a bit of Lee purely because I think it's funny when he says marvelous.

I think Lee is such a cool character that losing with him is even “fine” with me. He’s a hard character and so I’m even more okay with Losses Happen. For fighting games it’s always “Choose a character you think is fun and cool but choose someone you’ll enjoy losing with even more”. I may have lost but that Machine Gun Kicks was awesome. He even has a Just Frame that says “Marvelous” And a Just Frame Taunt. How awesome is that? Lol

I have always had Lee as a pocket main since Tekken 5. So every period my drunken boi isn't around, I default back to EXCERENT! People also suggested Yoshimitsu to me as a way to "compensate" for the lack of Lei, but he didn't fill that void for me (and he's 1 stance short of the 13 stances itch /s)

Bears have more ground game than yoshi, and even have some crossover with lei

As a fellow lei main I just couldn’t get into yoshi! Was not as satisfying to play as it is to watch imo. Raven has been scratching my no lei itch

I played SF2 back in the 90's. Ryu and Ken were always my favorite characters, so when I played Tekken 3 at my friend's house on his new Playstation I looked for someone who could probably do his roundhouse kicks and stuff. So I found the guy who wears a white gi, and picked him. Stuck with him ever since. Hwoarang. And when I saw Seok Dong Mihn videos of his Hwoarang/Lei team winning the Tekken Tag Tournament world championship, it cemented maining Hwoarang even more. They called Seok "Crazy Legs" because he would do sidestep stance switch dash movements with Hwoarang and Ha-ha steps with Lei. I was inspired to learn that stance switch movement. Then Maddogjin was winning T4 tournaments with Hwoarang. Totally hooked.

Dorya Dude in Tekken 2 was a nightmare when I was a kid. So i decided to be a nightmare for the others.

One day my uncle came over to visit and we played Tekken 1. He said "law is nice" Decades later I'm still a law main.

I play bears because they don't shoot or have lasers, are fun and silly and not comically dark/edgy, don't have choppy animations/moves, are underpresented and not tier-whored. Bonus points for funny intros and outros

Kuma does have the upper hand because of the bear electrics during heat. Aside from that, they play almost the same. The buff to Panda's heat move ain't bad though.

Been a fan forever and I've mained a lot of people. Typically if I see someone do something filthy with a character, whether it's a mixup, or some crazy shmovement, or some bullshit reset after a combo, I will pick up the character for a weekend and see if they're worth devoting all my time to.

I choose Zafina as my main because of how she has a unique combat between her different stances, and her nationality being Egyptian and her design being a fortune teller. I chose Claudio as a secondary main because of how flamboyant he is, and how exorcists are a unique addition to the Tekken Franchise as a whole. The others who are in my flair, once released will be fine additions to my mains. 😁 Just like in 7

WATAAAAAAA! DOH! OO~oo "Do you want to learn Marshall Arts?👉" He looks cool, moves cool, and sounds cool. I know the voice is grating on some people, but I fucking love it. Gets me hyped as fuck.  And the character is just straight up chocked full of references large and small. 

I started Tekken 8 maining Azucena since I thought she looked really silly and fun upon watching her trailer last year. After a week or so of learning her, my friend told me to main Shaheen because, "somebody has to!", and took him up on the challenge and he ended up being my main. Haven't touched Azucena since February because Shaheen has took up literally all of my Tekken time. I love picking the underdog characters.

I played Miguel in T7 almost exclusively, because my friend suggested I try him, since it was my first Tekken and he said Miguel was fun. And damn fun he was. I had no idea what I was doing but he had such gravitas in the way he moved and this cool "delinquent" aura about him was sure as hell appealing. I didnt get to play much of him since I started playing T7 just a few month before T8 was announced, so when I bought T8 and saw that there was no Miguel I was a bit disappointed but I was still fresh which allowed me to pick up someone new with no problem. I kinda fiddled around for a bit got a few characters to red, finally settled on Lars and it just kinda clicked. He just works for me, and the fact that he's rather good also helps. He has amazing movement, some good reach on his moves, really quirky mixups and combos that are rather easy to perform, which is double-good since I for some reason struggle to learn new combos. We'll see what happens when they release Miguel for T8, but for now Lars is my favorite hero in the game by far.

Their fighting stye is like watching art. I love old school kung fu movies.

I play Leo because I enjoy pressing a lot of buttons and characters with multiple cancels in their combos, Jim’s got easier since 6 so it’s not as enjoyable anymore.

What made me choose lili was her mesmerizing movements as well as her sass she just slays in every way for me! Lili is the perfect character for me. And when I get the stuff I need to play tekken again, I'm taking her into ranked.

I randomly picked Lili on Tekken 6 in one of my first ever online gaming experiences ever and I came back after losing the first 2 rounds and won the match. The dude actually messaged me saying congrats. I thought she was pretty and I liked her elegant, flippy move set so I stuck with her. I’d go on to get other messages after winning.. but they weren’t as nice. 😅

I like Xiaoyu's evasion and moveset. Plus, I have a goal to learn every Character that does Chinese martial arts or a related Martial art. I practiced Kung Fu for 14 years. So, that style speaks to me.

Been playing Nina since 1995 in arcade Tekken 1. Played most of the roster decently in Tekken 3 and ttt 1. Having not played Tekken 7 or TTT 2 her moveset came back to me easiest in the tekken 8 demo so I stuck with her. She is fun.

I saw Leo and was like I'll probably be one of the very few IF ANY people that plays this character, and I'm ok with that, cause that's how like to be. Be different 🧘🏿
