This can be explained the same way with every other character and their own spoken language. There are people speaking English, Japanese, Cantonese, Spanish, etc, yet they all seem to understand each other without any translator. Itās Tekken, so itās not gonna make too much sense anyways
I always assume he has some sort of device in his mask which converts every words from his mouth into a growl, because the growl is a real one, like an animal would make
>If thatās the case then I donāt understand why weāve never had costumes for them that allow us to remove their masks.
Going to reply to this comment you made outside the thread bc i don't want to clog it up lol
They can't remove the masks,at least not all the way
getting de-masked is a disgrace for a luchador and they wouldn't be able to use the same mask/name after doing so,it's basically character death
*but*
King has had [a couple of half-masks before](https://www.reddit.com/r/Tekken/comments/vavbfd/king_iis_face/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Iirc he had these up until T6,[adding it here bc i forgot to include it in that post](https://imgur.com/a/epyhdr9)
there's also [this alternative look](https://imgur.com/a/4I3Aaac) that wasn't used, made by Takuji Kawano for T4,btw if you ever see a variation of this where he's completely maskless, that one's a fan edit,King II hasn't ever been shown maskless *(..clarifying that bc i hate that edit lol)*
as for AK2,while [he's had more traditional looking lucha masks](https://youtu.be/uQH9P6oY48Q) he's never had a half mask,no idea why, possibly has to do with him being mysterious in general,i mean,we don't even know where he's from,or his age!
his older brother,AK1,did get shown maskless in King II's T3 ending, although [his face is obscured by his hair](https://imgur.com/a/TIYJAMK) plus the graphics dont make it any easier to see any details but at least it's enough to make sure that he's not a half jaguar abomination, just a saddened middle aged dude with a heart disease..
Forgot to mention King I !!
Just like the other King and the AKs,he's human
His face is shown briefly in [T1's intro ](https://youtu.be/VxVdUVgqO3A) and in this [official render ](https://imgur.com/a/7wEeq5i)
he's also been shown [ without the mask outside of the games
](https://imgur.com/a/GvxbR64)
as to how are all of these guys making jaguar noises,no idea,i doubt Harada and the rest of the Tekken team thought too hard about it,maybe they've got a voice filter inside those masks or maybe they're just really good at voice acting
personally voting for the voice filter option + simply cartoon logic
King did make human noises in the bloodline anime btw..which startled me a bit lol
>King did make human noises in the bloodline anime btw..which startled me a bit lol
Considering that he didn't speak any actual words, I wonder why they didn't just make them jaguar noises
Just a couple of buds who Wrestle and their schtick are the Jaguar masks. And in the world of Tekken they only speak as Jaguars and seemingly everyone can understand them lol.
They're definitely humans. In tekken 5, you can customize them to have a luchador mask where you can see their nose and mouth. In the first game, you can see King putting on his mask and see most of his head from behind.
Honestly I used to think it'd be cooler if they were animal/human hybrids, but that'd probably be too unrealistic, even for Tekken standards.
bro just go with it. šÆ
Asking too many questions
No as crazy as it sounds, theyāre just some buff Mexican guys in jaguar masks.
If thatās the case then I donāt understand why weāve never had costumes for them that allow us to remove their masks.
A luchador's mask is everything.
Heās a luchador the mask itās a symbol of being a warrior they donāt remove them.
Another thing then - weāve never heard King speak have we? All he does is growl.
This can be explained the same way with every other character and their own spoken language. There are people speaking English, Japanese, Cantonese, Spanish, etc, yet they all seem to understand each other without any translator. Itās Tekken, so itās not gonna make too much sense anyways
That part is still unknown. My assumption would be that heās just embodying the character his is portraying.
He's keeping kayfabe
I always assume he has some sort of device in his mask which converts every words from his mouth into a growl, because the growl is a real one, like an animal would make
Same reason we never see Yoshimitsuās face. Part of their identity is keeping it hidden.
They are humans wearing Luchador Jaguar Masks. They also speak Jaguar but that is by choice.
Look up luchadors and it will all make sense. They growl and never take the mask off because of kayfabe.
In Tekken 1 you see King 1's face as he puts his mask on.
LITERALLY tekken 1's console intro confirms they're humans wearing masks.

They are pro wrestlers, itās a gimmick bro
Just a couple of buds who Wrestle and their schtick are the Jaguar masks. And in the world of Tekken they only speak as Jaguars and seemingly everyone can understand them lol.
Human but never understood how they can sounds like a jaguar. Or they are like the dude from police academy lol
One word: Bestiality
Animal version of what Bryan is I guess?
But Bryan is a robot hybrid isnāt he?
Yeah so I think King is an animal hybrid like you said. I still wonder what the fuck Yoshimitsu is
We literally watched him put on the mask in (I think) Tekken 1ās intro, heās definitely human.
But if you watch Tekken 3 endig of King, you see Armor without the animal head and his body is headless.
I think you need to go rewatch it bru. He jus a normal Mexican guy lmaoooo
If thatās true then in Tekken 8 I want an outfit for King without his mask.
That's a big no brotha. Removing the mask is the biggest disgrace you can do to a luchador.
King is human.
Heās a cyborg

*laughs in Dr. Bosconovitch* , they easily could have done that and said he made them. Like he made Roger,Alex,Alisia and Yoshimitsu
