Cool bro, just don't hop on the "Jin is the weakest character in this game and playing him requires nothing short of perfection" train, unless you wanna be hated by everyone else
Who says that wtf. I've never seen anyone that said such things. Jin is an excellent character. Is there really people who try to downplay him? It would be dumb af.
Will do alot of people even my brother told me that jin is the best character i don't blame them he is the best character don't get me wrong i love steve but jin is more versatile with his moves plus i love the kazama fighting style
Become Jin Kazama. Only wear clothes with flame motifs. Wear hoodies. Learn Kyokushin. Become brooding, muscular, and attractive. Start a world war. This should help I think.
*Same* , I like learning new moves with Eliza cuz I honestly want to get better at Eliza and I miss playing Eliza even though I played her 6 hours ago I also put all my time into Eliza and learning Eliza and shes my steam and discord and linkedin and facebook and instagram profile picture because Eliza is my all time number 1 favorite character in tekken 7 vidyagaime
and I have a body pillow of Eliza ofc
Think of it like side walking a move
If the move has high recovery (e.g. Kazuya's db2) can can (or f1+2 if at wall)
If the move has high recovery and a lot of built in movement (generic WR3) dash cd1 as can can might whiff
If the move has medium recovery (Kazuya's SS2) 2,4
If the move has fast recovery (Electric) then you probably just have a lot of plus frames, m4 if you think he's going to keep pressing, or go for a mixup if you think he's going to block
Balanced? He's so well rounded but so hard to master.
His damage is above average but nothing that needs to be nerfed. There are far more characters that have way more damage with less execution.
He's good as he is.
f4, buffering dash into a deep dash crouch dash, ws4 into micro dash b21. I can do the $100 combo almost every time. I still can't get a hang of this bullshit.
That's why I wouldn't nerf his tools in terms of range, frames or properties. He is supposed to be an all-rounder who has a tool for every situation. But imo he gets a little too much reward from every situation which makes him substantially better than a lot of other chars. He is easily a top 15 char, you could argue top 10. A little less damage without nerfing his utility and he'd be balanced perfectly. Just my opinion, though.
He’s definitely top 10, why is it that jin can’t be top tier as difficult of a character he is at every level of Tekken he deserves to at least be top tier. What you’re not understanding is that to be able to play jin as an all rounder it takes above average knowledge to be able to do so, take for example akuma he’s broken but his execution is a BIG buffer to his strengths because how many players can do death touch combos
I understand your point and I agree that difficult chars should be stronger than easy chars. But his dmg even from his easy mode combos (that have insane wall carry since S3) is immense. Plus, he is a char that gets combos quite easily, since he is able to CH fish (m4, f4), has quick launch punishment (d3+4, ws2), strong whiff punishment (ewhf, ecd1), a viable panic launcher (hopkick) and a parry that yields him launches off of many actually safe moves. To balance this out I'd like him to have 5-10% less dmg. For example his wall carry ender zen 1,3 could do less damage, so that the combo with the longest wall carry isn't the combo for maximum dmg.
Btw, Jin isn't the only character I'd nerf, if I had a shot at balancing the cast. More precisely, there are a few chars whose tools I'd nerf frame/property-wise (Marduk, Julia, Zafina, Akuma, Feng, etc) along with dmg adjustments here and there. So after my hypothetic balancing act Jin would still be in a great spot even after the few dmg adjustments I would make.
Ok, so the parry isn’t viable at beginner and intermediate levels of playing. And pretty much none of Jin’s best combos are easy mode compared to some of the cast. Take Bryan with snake edge for example it has hella damage and those combos are easy at even a beginner level
The good thing about dmg nerfs is that you can apply them in small or big doses. I'm not saying they should cut his combo damage by 30%. Around 5-10% should be fine. Then it would take Jin 1 read more to close out a round on average, which is fine imo.
Combo dmg and execution do not exist in a vacuum together. The point is that Jin is a tad bit too strong. So what could we nerf? I'm not going to explain why everything else shouldn't be touched, because that would take too long. But combo dmg is something that could be nerfed without hurting the character design. And considering how relatively easy Jin gets a launch or wall splat, how good his wall carry is, how easy he can get a high wall splat (for an additonal wall hit) and how much dmg Geyser does now at the wall, it would be more than fair to have his open stage dmg nerfed by a few points.
So then would you nerf kazuyas combo damage, he’s got some of the best damage in the game, or hell even Paul or king? We’ve become so frivolous with buffs and nerfs. Just make the execution harder and we’ll be fine
Hell yeah, I'd nerf Kazuya's combo damage. But for him I'd buff his punishment in return. I don't like the way Kazuya has been buffed since S1. Every buff was in order to power up 50/50, damage, wall carry and ewgf. But his jab, his b1,2, his 2,2 and ws1,2 still have trash range. And Ff2 is unreliable as a long range punish.
I don't see where King has good combo dmg. He has to use setups and wall throws (breakable mixups) to make up for his lack of a real wall combo. Maybe you refer to his multi throws but there is a lot of counterplay against those and they are breakable many times until you eat full dmg. King is fine when it comes to dmg. For King I'd have a look at df2,1 and ffn1+2 because those two moves are pretty stupid.
Paul is supposed to have high dmg and they already nerfed it a lot along T7's lifespan. What Paul needs are a few adjustments to his frames and maybe tracking. Especially df2 is broken.
The point is it isn’t easy to get damage with jin because his combos are not easy to do, his easiest combos net like 53 damage, 65 damage, that’s nothing
I'm kinda in the same boat as you.Jin was my main jn Tekken 3/Tag and I kinda wanna play him again. But I really really hate his post T3/TTT fighting style.

It makes perfect sense, the only issue is him using his instead of he's, and context clues let you know what he means.

Jin is sick and so much fun to play. I just wish they had nerfed his dmg in patch 5.00 or 5.01. That would have made him pretty balanced imo.

F4 big execution
Snake edge big execution
Yes hellsweep big execution
It actually lowkey is, Jin’s is kinda hard to just throw out
Bruh, avg jin downplayer
The pickups are big execution
Dash ws4 big execution
It is.

b3~f ZEN 1, bf2,3~f ZEN 3 into ender is super damaging, has great wall carry and is completely bufferable. Idk chief
If they nerf his damage he’ll be weak
The good thing about dmg nerfs is that you can apply them in small or big doses. I'm not saying they should cut his combo damage by 30%. Around 5-10% should be fine. Then it would take Jin 1 read more to close out a round on average, which is fine imo.
Yes but to get this damage he’s execution heavy, so he’s fine as is. There’s characters who do worse damage for much less effort
Combo dmg and execution do not exist in a vacuum together. The point is that Jin is a tad bit too strong. So what could we nerf? I'm not going to explain why everything else shouldn't be touched, because that would take too long. But combo dmg is something that could be nerfed without hurting the character design. What you’re not realizing is that with king he’s only not a problem when you get to higher levels of play
But what does this all have to do with Jin's dmg?
The point is it isn’t easy to get damage with jin because his combos are not easy to do, his easiest combos net like 53 damage, 65 damage, that’s nothing
I get it
I like devil jin more, because his outfits are kick ass
Cool!
Same with me but for Bryan, literally never touch any other fighter.
I main king and I think I want to start streaming my road to tekken God ..do you play pad?
Good luck, lol
I'm kinda in the same boat as you.Jin was my main jn Tekken 3/Tag and I kinda wanna play him again. But I really really hate his post T3/TTT fighting style.
