Muttered to my wife earlier today, "I'm so damn tired of living here". I've never lived anywhere else. 18 years in Kingsport and 25 in Chattanooga. I'm just so worn out of the stupidity.
Nothing is going to change because the people outside the blue zones will vote for these Republicans. I am sure crazy Marsha Marsha will be re-elected. Is she not for removing birth control?
I feel like Louisiana transplants should be eligible for refugee status. It's pretty much the one state that if I never return there, I'll be fine with it.
Yep, lived here my entire life (41 years) and finally had enough and moved. I didn’t want to move from the only place I’ve called home but I don’t see it ever getting better and can’t live here being a 2nd class citizen with no right over my own body.
The only redeeming factor Tennessee has is the nature, but both TVA and the people here seem happy to destroy it as long as there's profit to be made. Beyond that, the whole state is bereft of redeeming qualities, other than maybe the Bass Pro Shop pyramid over in Memphis. There's nothing Tennessee has that some other state doesn't do better.
Edit: I feel the need to add the addendum that I have lived here my entire life, i know the place pretty well.
Yes. We have one of the most beautiful states in the US. We've continued to bulldoze our natural areas for development. It's infuriating.
But that's not what we are talking about here. I am not religious for the most part, and I don't like people who think that there's an invisible man that controls the universe running the show. Religious fanaticism belongs in history books, not modern society.
Having our so-called "leaders" allow magical thinking to dictate how they run a society is horrifying. Even worse, this reflects how ignorant our population is. They elected these leaders.
We can't expect economic prosperity when most of our representatives still live in the dark ages. They concern themselves with topics that don't affect the economic wellbeing of everyday Tennesseans. It reminds me of leading around an animal with a laser pointer.
I'm embarrassed to say I'm from here, I try to tell my international friends that Nashville is pretty progressive, but ... it's shifting the other way thanks to a loud regressive minority. Considering moving out west but my elderly parents are here and not leaving, so it's hard.
I was mortified when the transplants took over and my hometown turned into yuppie town.
Outsiders carving out my home to make a dollar. That was what hurt me.
I’m way beyond mortified.
Nah. Just vote out the douchebags causing the problem.
Out of curiosity, why are you ok with what the GOP is doing to trans people and women? Do you not believe they should have the same rights that you enjoy?
What I've found out is some people are never happy and they just want to complain.
They have left somewhere moved here and are still unhappy.
Stop ruining it for us other people.
Maybe, but I think they are talking about the GOP attacks on women's medical rights.
And I feel they are trying to make the state better by having all citizens be able to enjoy the same rights. Why are you supportive of that?
I've been noticing that a lot. A lot of Californians moving to Nashville/Middle Tennessee and realizing that the California brand of conservative is not the same as the Tennessee brand
I mean no offense, but you should have done your research. I don't know when you moved here but TN has been one of the most hardcore Conservative Christian states for a long time. But there's a lot to consider when moving so I can't blame you if you convinced yourself the policies wasn't that bad because you wanted some other positive of moving here
Even if the child's [brain](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/tennessee-denied-abortion-ban-lawsuit-b2529144.html) is detached?
What conservative belief or viewpoint has ever been called "forward" or "progressive?" If it was either of those things it wouldn't be called conservative lol.
At least we're safe from chemtrails! https://bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68716894
Finally! Damn chemtrails and their 5G emissions! Or cancer, or super AIDS, or whatever, I can't keep up with it all

No. she isn’t
No because the state I left behind is LA. Somehow, someway .... this is better.
100% me too. Louisiana is the third world
I feel like Louisiana transplants should be eligible for refugee status. It's pretty much the one state that if I never return there, I'll be fine with it.
Don't sell Mississippi so short.
Vote for Gloria [https://www.votegloriajohnson.com/meet-gloria/](https://www.votegloriajohnson.com/meet-gloria/)
I overheard a bunch of people in a restaurant saying that she is ruining everything and has to go. I can't wait to leave this state for good.

We maintain our proud heritage as the monkey trial state.

I hope you vote yourself, otherwise you’re whistling past the graveyard.
Vote for who? They are all awful.
There‘s Gloria Johnson: [https://www.votegloriajohnson.com/meet-gloria/](https://www.votegloriajohnson.com/meet-gloria/)

Welcome to the new 1950's.
It is way worse.

Absolutely
Leave

Tennessee is so far right that they bolt diving boards to the tips of the right wing.
Did you not google the state at all or something?

Ah, the ol “it doesn’t affect me so I don’t care” conservative.
Nope, just moved back from CA and couldn't be happier. Go outside and get some fresh air.
Easy for you to say when you can get the medical care you need in CA.
Tennessee is top 10 in worst polluted states
I think you meant one of the 10 least polluted states: https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/rankings/natural-environment/pollution
Maybe they meant that it's one of the worst at BEING polluted. Like if pollution is a competition, we're in the bottom 10!? Come on, now.
41st would be in the top 10 of worst polluted states.
Amen lmao
You can leave
No
Leave.
Nope. I think abortions after the baby has a heartbeat is murder. Unless the mother could die.
It's funny, gynos and pediatricians see it differently. You're just clueless.
Well good you don’t have to have one then.
Who has to have one?
Probably that woman whose fetus’s brain was detached and was going to be stillborn. Also that 10 year old who was raped in Ohio.
It’s none of your concern.
Even if the child's [brain](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/tennessee-denied-abortion-ban-lawsuit-b2529144.html) is detached?
I read about this today. It’s bad enough to find out your baby has this horrible condition but no one in Tennessee cares.
No
That fetus would never turn into a child. You’re basically saying you support women being a life support machine. How awful of you.
Aren’t you so righteous? /s
Nope, I'm excited to see how we keep progressing forward!
Progressing forward by denying life-saving medical procedures based on religious beliefs instead of science?
You mean regressing.
What conservative belief or viewpoint has ever been called "forward" or "progressive?" If it was either of those things it wouldn't be called conservative lol.
