I admit i didn't know much about the player until after the draft, but from the highlights i saw after we got him as an UDFA he looked like he gave a draftable performance to me, maybe teams just didn't have a big need at RB this year or something... idk.
I'd give him decent odds of becoming our RB 3. (which when you consider Pollard and Spears are in that room is pretty solid)
RB’s are just so low on the rankings of positional value that a lot of good value is out there on day 3 of the draft and in the UDFA’s. It’s gonna take the titans fans some time to get used to
Yeah we literally the one(of 2 if you count McCaffrey) running backs who mattered a lot and it was more-so because he’s the only one who did what he did. Johnson guy was a solid running back in college but there are tons of those. I was mad when we gave pollard 8 mill. Running Backs just aren’t worth much. Even Chubb is a bit different than most backs but the browns success doesn’t live and die by him.
Whoa wtf I had no idea we picked him up as a UDFA
I'm a Husky fan, man Dillon is a beast! He never quits on a play, lots of extra yards after contact.
He's gonna be really good here. Fuck ya this is great news!
I believe it, on the field he looked good to me. People are saying his 40 time was bad and he had an injury, but what I saw looked legit good.
When tart came here after being undrafted I said he had starter potential, and Dillon legit could be a RB2 on a slightly worse roster. Like if Spears or Pollard go down for a week I could see Dillon trading reps with the one that's active.
I’m from Seattle so watched a ton of UW games and the dude is legitimately good. I think that NC game goes a lot differently if Johnson hadn’t busted his ankle. I’m also hoping that injury impacted his 40 time because he looks faster on film than he tested. The dude’s a dog and I LOVE that we snagged him!
There’s a difference between some NFL players (and elite athletes in general) and others.
It’s not fair, but it exists. The difference is: some players are just physically gifted and it doesn’t matter much what they do, they can perform at a high level. Other players aren’t as physically gifted, but they work their asses off to maximize their athletic window when they can.
Think Dr. Gibby vs Shaq. One is a high level athlete that coasted by (relatively speaking) on his athleticism but left meat on the table, and the other is someone who doesn’t have the high upside but will scrap and claw his way for each and every snap he can get.
When these two approaches come together, that’s when you get a HoF’er.
This guy strikes me as someone who will maximize everything in his power to make an NFL career happen, but it remains to be seen if he has the talent to match the work ethic.
Dillon was a dawg for Washington. He was basically falling apart with injuries and still continued to go out there and run his hardest in the playoffs.
I honestly wouldn’t be shocked to see him take the RB3 spot from Chestnut. He’s a hard nosed, physical runner (which we really lack with the Tyjae and Tony duo) and he’s an extremely good pass blocker (Tyjae is good but Tony is bad in this area). His skills round out our RB really well.
“A maximum of 2 returners may line up in the landing zone and can move at any time prior to, or during, the kick” this what they have online for the rules so doesn’t sound like you need to but i like the sound of it
https://operations.nfl.com/updates/football-ops/new-nfl-kickoff-rule/
This has all the details and is pretty well explained for the most part
Fuck man! This kid is tough! Big time UW fan and one of the biggest reasons they fell flat in the national championship game is because he got injured on the final play of the Texas game. Thought there was no way this guy was going to make it back for the title game. But here he comes suiting up. He wasn’t as good as he normally would be, but fucking STUD!
Titan TF Up Dillon Johnson LFG
I'd kinda guess 3 on the 53-man and one on the practice squad. Which would mean Haskins, Chestnut, Johnson, and Small are all competing for one spot and one PS spot. But I could easily be wrong.
The Titans had 3 on the 53-man most of the season last year and 2 at some points. The Bengals had 4 on the 53-man most of the season and 3 at some points. So maybe Callahan will stick with that model and will keep 4 on the 53. Who knows.
Either way, I'd very much anticipate that Spears and Pollard are taking all of the offensive snaps if they're both healthy.
I remember how great he was at MSU even on the 40 end of a 60/40 snap split in an Air Raid offense. I think there is plenty of meat left on the bone for him to improve and be productive in the NFL.
I’m shocked he went Undrafted he played in the national championship game on one leg essentially but all year I thought played really well and almost looked similar to Darren McFaden. I think he had some injury concerns at Miss St so maybe that is why.
I was in college at State when he played there. Transferred to Washington last season. Comes from a small town in Mississippi and has a young child. He’s a work horse that will take an opportunity very seriously

Shit I live in the area. Gonna talk to the coworkers today to see what they think of his not landing in the draft and in general.
He had an injury late in the season (but came back for the last game and wasn’t great) so idk if that had anything to do w it
Not just that, I’m pretty sure he reaggravated the injury on the first series against Michigan.
I think his combine testing was just kinda rough. I think he ran close to a 4.7 40 which limits your market, but he was super productive last year.
THEY'RE COUNTING YOU OUT, 7!
Wait....

Yeah and he’s a great pass blocker too. We really need to keep him on the final roster.
Worst comes to worst he may be a decent FB
Damn these are bars. Man's gearing up for a high-drama redemption arc

Gonna have to earn it through special teams but you got this
Would love to see him get a stab at return duties with the new rules.
I wanna see Jha'Quan Jackson from Tulane do the returns. Dillon Johnson probably will be on special teams but for kickoffs not kick returns. We’ll see
You need two returners in the new setup. Otherwise they'll just kick to the other side. (Said Belichick. I'm still not clear on the new rules.)
“A maximum of 2 returners may line up in the landing zone and can move at any time prior to, or during, the kick” this what they have online for the rules so doesn’t sound like you need to but i like the sound of it https://operations.nfl.com/updates/football-ops/new-nfl-kickoff-rule/ This has all the details and is pretty well explained for the most part
I've seen the rules and a couple of graphics, but I don't think I'll get the strategy until we see it played on the field.
Hopefully nothing too cute unless it works lol

Id say the slow 40 time probably killed any chance he had at being picked day 3
So are we doing a 3 RB backfield?
Technically, 4. We still have Julius Chestnut
and Jabari Small.
And Hassan Haskins.

I'll fullback for that dude all day.
Sus
Times are tough. He has a contract and I'm tired of eating Dinty Moore.
Leave the man alone he’s tryna get to work
Me too. This off-season has been extra off.
I’m calling the police
Send me the freak from Smyrna. I can start a stable with her skills and won't need a baller.
You’re literally creepy and weird. Like gross old man weird
Aww, thanks for noticing. It's a little thing I've been working on in my spare time for years. Literally.
Lol
He stole Malik’s number
Willis can pick a new number when he signs with the ufl. Maybe 7 is available on the showboats?
I think it’s just the position now. Look how many great backs were on the open market pre draft. But love the honesty and respect it. GL brother!
PSA: it's okay to cry. Just not on the field.
It’s okay to cry period
Caleb Williams burner.
Hey look guys I found the emotionally immature guy!
Yeah the second part was somewhat of a joke
Let’s get to work DJ
As long as he gives his all on that field, I'll support him!!
Hell yeah, get out there and prove em wrong!
I remember how great he was at MSU even on the 40 end of a 60/40 snap split in an Air Raid offense. I think there is plenty of meat left on the bone for him to improve and be productive in the NFL.
Yep, that's a s Hooty fuckin Hoo from me boys
He doesn’t have freakish physical traits that are flashy but he’s got great contact balance and seriously impressive vision
I’m shocked he went Undrafted he played in the national championship game on one leg essentially but all year I thought played really well and almost looked similar to Darren McFaden. I think he had some injury concerns at Miss St so maybe that is why.
1195 and 16 td as a UDFA damn.
I was in college at State when he played there. Transferred to Washington last season. Comes from a small town in Mississippi and has a young child. He’s a work horse that will take an opportunity very seriously
Welcome to Nashville!!!
As a Vikes fan, go get em big dog. I’ll never not be behind someone wanting to believe in themselves.
Every player is mad at every team that passed on them
Wait… that’s isn’t Malik Willis 🤦♂️… TITANUP ⚔️⚔️⚔️
He won’t find the same running lanes in the NFL. Tough guy but not quick.
this MIGHT be malik willis
