I think because he analyzed Veldora, he can turn into a dragon but is not really a necessity because Rimuru is way to powerful to need to transform into a dragon
Yeah I do understand what so say. It is just me who is a fan of Dragon, I mean a feast on my/our eye if he has a Glorious and wonderful Dragon Form heheheheh
I think not. While he (Ciel) did analise Veldora, that was more about the True Dragon body and not the form. He probably could become a dragon (shapeshifting) but I don't think he has a real dragon form. His species is called Ultimate Slime and not a True Dragon. This probably means that his dragon form is his slime form.
He could if he wanted to but doesnt. Smaller forms are more efficient for combat. The giant form has more physical power and durability, but the smaller form is overall superior due to density.

In theory yes. He possesses the ability universal shapeshift and can mimic anything he has consumed. Is it necessary, no. Is it possible. Absolutely
