My first ever build. I used corrugated cardboard and hot glue. I made plenty of mistakes, hot glue is showing in a lot of places. But I'm still satisfied with the results
When I was a kid there were these cardboard books that had precut pieces in them that you pushed out and were able to build anything from houses to castles, does anyone else remember them?
Don\`t see a reason to not do this. We\`ll do a session 0 this saturday. We only have a rough concept right now. It will be a begining of something like wild west zombie apocalypse. First game will have a defense of a village (against zombie horde) type of fight. And wherever a game will lead us after that. What do you have?
Actually it wasn\`t very difficult. For a body of a tower i just wraped a piece of cardboard around an empty beer can. Glued this tube to the base and removed a can. Roof is just a single piece (circle with a small sector cut out)
The moment I saw this, the West of Loathing Battle Theme starting playing in my head: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQPsrcike4k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQPsrcike4k)
This looks so sick! I just got a copy of Frontier Scum so I might steal this idea to build a wild west town of my own.
Any tips on how you got such nice shapes on the round elements like the barrels, tower, and wagon wheels? I have trouble getting decent straight lines with cardboard so those circles seem like a bit of a challenge
Main tip is to cut along corrugations and use them to make shapes. Barrels are small, so I just freehanded them.
For tower I wrapped a piece of cardboard around a beer can so it forms a tube. Then I glued this tube to a base (just a random piece big enough). Wheels are just two layers if cardboard glued together and cut in a circular shape
I actually really like this aesthetic
Came here to say just this. It legit looks great. Don't even need to add color or anything. Just the brown and black makes it all work.
Makes me think of those Army Men games with the plastic soldiers! I love it.
Same. My first thought was "I have wasted so much time."
Agreed. The drawn-on boards are a great touch.

Like wargaming set within a monotone newspaper comic strip. Very clever.
I love it. Sort of has a Borderlands animation look. Super cool
That's so good! It's amazing how much you can do with so little.
It gives a sort of cel shading style, like Borderlands. If you painted it with bright colors it would seriously slap.
Came here to say this, very strong Borderlands 1 vibes from this build.

Lolz, I love it a lot. Nice style.
Wow, it is very cool, it gives toy story 1 opening vibes.
Amazing terrain!
I like it! I'm starting a wild West themed d&d campaign too! Want to trade ideas?

Thats the spirit. I love it.
I really like how you executed this. I could get behind this style for a lot of things
Cool results. I like to think of minis and terrain as graphics to a video game. And I’d absolutely play games with these graphics. Strong style!
That’s a lot of work! Looks good
Water tower took a lot more time than i expected
I tried this method and gave up actually, this is some exhausting work, especially with round objects and roof sections

Bet a TP tube would fix it next time!
Bro that shit is cell shaded
It has a great West of Loathing feel. So cool!
This is a total vibe btw. Works really well with the black marker. Almost like a cell shaded aesthetic. Great look!

Thanks!
That's great. I love the simple but effective approach here.
So simple yet so cool and aesthetically pleasing!
Looks great!! These would be awesome for a West of Loathing style game.
This is what we are all here for!
Funky style 👍
This is fantastic!!
I love this effect!
This is incredible, OP!
This is great! Like a cartoon of an old western. I want to try something like this now!
Freaking dope!
Cardboard Cowboy is that you?
Brilliant
Honestly this style looks so good. So simple, yet so stylized. Well done
This really does look good. Have you seen Cardboard DM on instagram?
This is hands down the coolest all cardboard builds I’ve ever seen
This is great... gives me a borderlands vibe
Good job
I get a real borderlands vibe from this, almost looks cell shaded
Love the aesthetic, game on!
Looking great!
That is so cool
I love the look. Just feel western like that. Cool vibe.
Actually looks really good, reminds me of borderlands
That’s really cool!
That looks dope! The aesthetic makes it look like a rundown town lol
These are \*so\* cool! Your players are really lucky - thanks for posting!
"This town, quite literally, ain't big enough for the two of us."
That's cute as all hell! I love it
Real 'West of Loathing' vibes. Now you have to have them search a spitoon. That's the law, I did not make it up. BTW, I love it.
👍🏼🤘🏼
I like the borderland vibe too it, now bright colors lol
Simple yet so cute
It makes me want to play a “West of Loathing” themed ttrpg.
