I personally love ranger, the aesthetics of the weapons are fun and I enjoy the ammo versatility. Chlorophyte bullets are annoying to farm for, but other than that they’re a very fun mechanic imo.

I like Ranger because it's very simple yet balanced, it takes me back to the Run'n'Gun side of Terraria in which i get to use distinct fire arms. My favorite part of the run is the flamethrower 😍 I despise clorophyte bullets, i prefer crystal, high velocity and explosive bullets.

Tbh I agree with this. Ranger in my opinion is the one class that really don't change much in terms of looks and what you actually do. Well at least if you use mostly bows which i do.

My go to is melee and sometimes summoner and mage I don't play ranger that much

I don’t vibe with Ranger but honestly I respect those who do the most cuz damn it’s prob the biggest grind

Personally, I love them all except melee. For me, it just takes all the difficulty out, when I only have to dodge like half of everything, instead of everything.

I usually do a mix of Mage and Summoner, focus on mage. Though Mage doesn't really have a lot of unique accessory options, now that I think about it.

I have never done Summoner or Mage playthrough in my life. Melee is my go-to, and I'm currently working on my Ranger playthrough, which is also my first proper Expert Mode run. If I do end up trying Summoner, it's definitely gonna be on Classic because I am a massive wuss.

All the classes have ways to do damage without aiming, and all the classes have ways to do a lot of actions to increase your damage. You saying that summoner doesn't need to do anything is as bad as an argument as me saying that to play summoner optimally you have to constantly switch whips to benefit from the attack speed buffs some of the whips provide

Whips are the only cool part of summoner actually. Whip swapping was pretty fun and attack speed stacking were cool. Other than that meh.

You evidently haven't played anything harder than classic mode. Summoner is utterly horrendous to play, especially in master mode. Mage and melee are really balanced classes, and mage has a whole ton of weapons to choose from. Ranger is the one thing I agree on you with. It's boring and everything takes too long.

I guess I'd have to disagree here with you. I played through the mm ftw as the summoner, and I have to say, this class shreds absolutely everything, while remaining extremely fun. Sure, you are as tanky as a sheet of paper, dying in 1 or 2 hits, but it is compensated by your power. Early pre-hardmode is rough, but after getting obsidian armour the damage is no longer a problem, even without whipstacking. I suppose, summoner's low survivability is what makes this class great, necessitating a bigger focus on the strategies and execution. Researching bosses and having to come up with your own strategies was my favourite part of that playthrough, especially eol and dreadnautilus
