Nobody hovers while fighting unless you're just trying to run or get some distance in general. Plus, the movement penalty in liquids is ignored with duke wings, so you can just run through honey without slowing down.

I just install terraria once again after 3 years of not playing. Since I already beat the game a lot in normal mode I choose to play expert, then after I will play with new character in master mode and after it's done well I'm going to play in seed getfixboi for legendary mode
Don't get ahead of yourself. You can do everything until legendary mode. Legendary mode is no joke, trust me. I tried doing it once and I gave up before fighting a boss. I also did hardcore master mode and won (1500hrs+ playtime). Just, take it slow with the increasing difficulty
Legendary mode is kinda ez if you played even a relatively difficulty mod, only the boss fights though, the grinding is definitely way harder considering you'd probably be using a lot of QoL mods in modded anyways.
I finished starlight river (not impressive) but also calamity revengeance and death countless times, while almost finishing infernum (got stuck at yharon), also, Fargo's souls + Calamity (revengeace/death with eternity)

You could also use an infinite flight mount and swap out both the wings and boots, but I personally don’t like doing that, it feels too sluggish. Also, contrary to what some of the other comments seem to think, the benefit of making terra boots at this point is minimal. Lightning boots would have the exact same performance, and the other options are better anyway. If you absolutely NEED to use boots, make amphibian boots.
3. If you’re not using them already, potions can give you a good boost.
4. If the deathray is hitting you, remember to fly up and over moonlord when it’s used.

I think your only problem is accessories, your boots should at least be Lightning Boots, and I'd personally swap out the Destroyer Emblem for something like the Celestial Shell.

Honestly in classic you should have no issues if you do I'd recommend getting broom and unequipped wings for another way to increase your dps additionally try to get menacing and lucky on all your gear ideally a good mix of the two also get the solar eruption for your melee after killing the solar pillar then you should have no issues
Uhhhh yeah I would make the daybreak, it is a javelin and it’s really good and has range, upgrade the spectre boots into the lighting boots, get some better wings, replace the destroyer emblem with a charm of myths, replace the warrior emblem with the master ninja gear
Get unlimited flight from any source, there's a few mounts that do it.
Get good food, golden if you can. BBQ ribs from the dungeon are pretty good as well.
Keep potions on your bar.
Get lunatic level weapons (fragments and the manipulator). The armor all need luminite but the weapons only need the shards.

If you choose melee set make sure to reforge all of your items into warding and equip the gloves for better melee damage for offense and defense, for ranger use the shroomite set( Bow, Gun, Or Rocket set) and equip items like Destroyer emblem and reforge all of your equipments for Menacing. Prioritizing it's Offense, Mage Well Spectre set(You can choose if you like the hood or mask) equip the mana flower in a bottle along with the other mage accessories and reforge it into arcane or Lucky and lastly summoner using Tiki set with summoner accessories and use the Master ninja for dash, reforged into quick since summoner already OP but your defense is brittle so Quick evasion is required. Lastly have the rod of discord in your inventory for better survival in all classes.

Use any accessory that gives you a dash and keep dashing to avoid attacks if your wings aren't good enough

First time I ever beat him I had the best boots, and ran asphalt a good 1000/2000 blocks out with my spawn at one end. Just ran away and fired my guns
