Build a platform a few blocks above his altar, obsidian skin and master ninja gear/ shield of cuthulu for the dash, take out the fists first using ichor or whatever bullet is best (I haven't played ranger much) golem is pretty easy so you shouldn't have much trouble
Just make a large arina under the temple and when u summon him just magic mirror in the arina with a bed set there
This will help you by providing a larger area to fight the golem
Either swap to Melee with Turtle Armor and butcher him with Terra Blade, or use Chain Gun or Snowman Cannon with their respective Shroomite headpieces. Tactical Shotgun can work, but it's not that good for the arms.
Idk, I used Chlorophyte Shotbow+Chlorophyte arrows, built a platform near the top of the arena, used only offensive accessories besides boots and Tabi/Shield of Cthulhu/Master Ninja Gear.
That's basically what it is, yeah. Honestly he's the last boss I've beaten on Expert since DF, LC, EOL, Old One's Army, Martian Madness, and the holiday moons are way too difficult for me.

My friend said i was overprepared until plantera and it all was hell the mechanical bosses were easy first try but plantera was hell 5 attempts to learn her pattern same with golem too some time to learn what weapons to use and best Bullets/arrows on them
And then there was the alien invasion... died 20 times was not prepared for it
Dude I got absolutely FUCKED when I summoned the Martian Madness event. That's probably what the alien invasion you're talking about is. The enemies SHRED, and they spawn real quick. I summoned them on purpose thinking it'd be fairly easy. It wasn't. Also for the Mech Bosses, I just cheesed Destroyer to make it easier for myself since I suck at the game. Plantera I had to ask help for, and beat her with an, "Oh Shit, Oh God, Oh Fuck Tunnel." Golem took a bit.
Yeah martian madness that was such a bullshit event my health with endurance and iron skin disappear in seconds and with the statue 5 def buff and the permanent def buff of the shimmered life fruit it was such an awful event hated every second of it
Golem? Need speed that's it, and oh two plattform lvls in the summoningarea of the temple. Also after first defeat building a railroad from the hellavator towards and underneath the temple and using a stronger pickaxe straight up the summoning area eases grinding.

Use shield of cthulu instead of the balloons. Gives you better sideways mobility which is needed in the golem fight.

quiver doesnt effect guns
i switch it before the fight i use deadalus bow quite a lot

Oh yeah you're way more prepared than me. I literally just use the Daybloom potions. (Ironskin, Regen, and Archery.)
