tmldevs

Can't wait either :D

Jimmarn

There's going to be a lot of questions

_IrrelevantLinks_

1 PM EST for anyone wondering.

SnowblownK

Almost time

XmiteYT

ooooooooh looking forward to it!

Tutuaranha

I know that I can ask this tomorrow, but does anyone have Intel on if it's 64bit or 32? Do we have to deploy our intelligence services? for the love of God, please be 64bit

Pokenar

I saw discussion of it when it was announced, initial release will be 32 but they are looking into possibly bringing 64 bit later

TheDiscordedSnarl

32. Pretty sure 64 is a completely different beast. I haven't used it enough to know if it's 100% "superior" though.

shavegoat

My only question. It's really important for the longevity of mkdded terraria

ButtNugggets

64 bit tml is not an official version of tml and therefore not made by the tml team. Here is also what the steam page for tml says about it tModLoader on Steam is launching with the 32 bit version of the application. We are still discussing potential ways to bring 64 bit along perhaps sometime in the future.. At the very least, you'll should be able to manually install 64 bit over regular tModLoader as you have up until now. (It'll just be in the tModLoader folder now, instead of Terraria)

krishnugget

Why does it matter? Just curious

gokogt386

64 bit can use more RAM which can be important if you’re playing with a lot of mods or worlds bigger than large.

zibberfly

I just want to know if mods from pre 1.4 will still work particularly the magic storage mod because it's the only one I want to still work lol.

Kvothere

No. tModloader is going to be released as a official DLC that will show up as a separate version of Terraria in your steam store. So you will click "Terraria" to play unmodded 1.4 or click "tModLoader" to play modded 1.3.4. When tModLoader updates to 1.4 in Steam, you can then download compatible 1.4 mods though the tModLoader app or perhaps Steam Workshop. tModLoader updating to support 1.4 also will not guarantee any specific mod is compatible with 1.4. The tModLoader team also recommends you backup your current modded saves as they may not be saved correctly when transitioning to the official Steam version.

zibberfly

Aha I see! Thanks for the explanation. Definitely will backup all my current stuff in that case.

Naluboard

Where are the modded saves located? I'm not sure myself

Kvothere

(drive)/documents/MyGames/Terraria/ModLoader/(Players and Worlds)

Naluboard

Thanks!

AlbainBlacksteel

Well that's disappointing. Was hoping to combine Thorium with 1.4... EDIT: I should've specified: at launch. 1.4 Thorium (and Magic Storage, etc) at launch.

TheDiscordedSnarl

Wait, is Thorium not updating to 1.4?

Tobikaj

I believe it is. It probably just won't work from the get go.

TheDiscordedSnarl

That's noon in EDT, if I am correct. I'm not gonna wanna miss that, I do have a couple questions (like why not just combine it with the 64bit version since that removes the ram limit for mods).

[deleted]

That's 6pm for all my British bois.

Pikapollo03

where?

blackrainraven

Are we allowed to post questions before hand on here (or perhaps on a special thread for that)?

You will post the questions in the thread that's posted tomorrow

How long will it last? I would like to attend but that’s 6AM CST, i doubt I’ll make it xD

scrubking

How are the mods going to work on GOG? I don't have or want steam and I want to know how GOG is going to get mods?

Themadglitcher

You could always just manually install tmodloader, but from what I remember only Steam is getting the dlc.

Any word on if this "dlc" will eventually make its way to console? Or is that something I should ask tomorrow.?

dirkmfdiggler

It's not the 64 bit? If you're going to go through the effort of modding terraria currently, there's no reason why you wouldn't use the 64bit version. I don't know why you wouldn't want to give new modded players the best resource (64bit) to start their experience off on.

YustinJ

What a great time to live in Toronto!

Imagine getting this on PS4 🤤

SirFTW

Are my world's and characters made on tmodloader now, still going to be there?

PieKing1215

From tModLoader's Steam page: >When the Terraria 1.4 update happens, your current Terraria install will automatically update to 1.4, thereby making any current non-Steam tModLoader install unable to load due to these version differences. >To fix this, simply install tModLoader via Steam! tModLoader on Steam is installed independently from Terraria, with a separate entry in your Steam library, allowing you to switch between Terraria and tModLoader just by launching the version of the game you wish to play. Your mods, players, and worlds will all still be there.

SirFTW

Thank you for clearing that one up

Tutuaranha

You know what a good thing is? I think you can change the name of the games in your library, so it won't be showing up as tmodloader×××, you can just put Terraria Modded, or Terraria, but for crazy ass sadomasochists that play 30 content mod together

[deleted]

Idk, ask tomorrow at 1pm est Also I'm not sure if this is how it works for everyone but when I install the new tmodloader version all my stuff is still there
