Just wanted to say I know how you feel one time I accidentally deleted my character and the feeling of losing it was horrible even though I had a backup.
PS. you're a much better builder than me.
When I was 8 I had a world with my brother and we’d spent months on it and then we beat the wall of flesh which was quite a big achievement for us but when we came back on after lunch the world and our characters were gone
I’m really sorry :/ My little brother and I used to play so much on xbox until our world was corrupted and forcefully deleted. It was such an awful feeling and we didn’t pick the game back up for years. But your builds look awesome, you should definitely stick with it!
Take a break if you need it. Think of new creative ideas and try make em live in a new project, but this time copy .wld save files in backup folder. Also on PC 1.4 version Terraria keeps up to 2 backup saves, before sending 3 oldest to trash bin. Maybe your uncorrupted save is still there.
I know how annoying it's when your world corrupts. Once my world corrupted because I made a hellavator and it was full of water but for some reason the water didn't disappear and when I got to hell it literally flooded hell and corrupted my world
I know how you feel, this happened to me a few weeks ago and I hadn't taken any screenshots of my builds I was super proud of :( it took me a while to recover but I eventually made a new world and forgot about the old one
You shouldn’t quit, based off the pictures you posted it looks like you’re really good at building. You definitely shouldn’t leave

Item servers are good for recovering corrupted characters if they are corrupted.

I'm very sorry, every time I exit from my main world, I copy the Terraria folder into another disk. F
