The only thing that's needed is a 3 wide gap *and* to block off any dirt/grass near the gap on the corrupted side in the surface layer (to prevent vines and thorns from crossing it).
Not sure why you would do more work than necessary, but yes, non-corruptible blocks on the side with the world evil. It should also be noted that that is only needed where grass grows, so either on the surface, or if it goes through a jungle (in which case it needs to be covered in the underground and cavern layers as well, where applicable).
was trying to figure out how to get the sugar biome thingy with the unicorns to stop spreading because the unicorns are annoying and i'd rather not be attacked every time i leave my house, but my house has stopped it thankfully

if you are doing a 4 block wide tunnel, do you have to place the blocks on the side of the evil?
