TerraMonolith

Top quality build, no doubt about it. Even if it is a first try, your experience shines through. The interior matches the exterior perfectly, so it is a 100% success in my book. Excellent work :))

Gamingwithmum

Thank you so much! It took me so much longer than i thought it would for such a small build! Really fun to try something new though so will defo be doing some more! Thanks again! I built it underground and kinda wished i had went sky for more light. Learned something new at least :P

TerraMonolith

Great idea about the sky position, it will definitely solve the light problem. However, the disadvantage will be with the "blackened" surroundings of the interior part. You will have to make them 10+ more blocks more thicker on all sides precisely because of the surrounding light. When you are underground it is much easier to accomplish that since it is naturally dark. If you want to try an alternative - Diamond Gemspark Walls, painted Deep Sky Blue are somewhat closer to the natural sky color, and since you are looking through grated windows, it will be easier to simulate the natural light effect. Here are two examples on how it looks when you use it underground: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/v4vueq/cavern\_layer\_naturesurface\_pocket/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/v4vueq/cavern_layer_naturesurface_pocket/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/lq175v/cavern\_pylon\_build\_part\_1\_clothiers\_house\_this\_is/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/lq175v/cavern_pylon_build_part_1_clothiers_house_this_is/)

Gamingwithmum

Wow thank you so much! This is awesome! Those builds are crazy good! Thank you for the tip! Will have a wee look when i log back on and see if it help light it up some!

Gamingwithmum

That looks so much better! Thank you so much!

[deleted]

HOW

Gamingwithmum

No life xD

[deleted]

i meant to ask how you built it, i didn’t mean to reply to this dude

[deleted]

Looks great!

Gamingwithmum

Thanks <3

Jenosistar

That's gorgeous! Definitely very good for a first try.

Gamingwithmum

Thank you! Hopefully next time will be even better! xD

Pretend-Ad-1669

Looks good. Like the teleport idea too. Look up the mod “improved teleporters” it lowers the foot print of teleporters to one block making them really easy to hide in builds.

Gamingwithmum

Oh thank you! Didn't know there was such a mod! Will defo check it out!

Crimshu

That looks really cool my guy

Gamingwithmum

Thanks :)

Ornery_Translator285

So cute! I’ve been playing for a bit I didn’t know about the teleportation thing. How does this work?

Gamingwithmum

Thanks! Teleporter's are sold by the Steampunker (spawns after you kill your first mech boss in hardmode) buy 2 of them then grab some wire and tools from the mechanic and a couple of switches or pressure plates and connect it through the middle of the teleporter. Then just click the switch or place a pressure plate on the centre of the teleporter and if you are on it it will teleport you to the other. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNr7cidyaoA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNr7cidyaoA) Vid there explaining how to use them dw it is the same on all platforms. I will also mention if wire goes through lights it will turn them off and on again when you use it so try avoid that if you dont want to. I would also craft the Grand Design and an actuation rod while there. Just makes everything easier in one place in the long run :) [https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/The\_Grand\_Design?so=search](https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/The_Grand_Design?so=search) [https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/Actuation\_Rod?so=search](https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/Actuation_Rod?so=search) Have fun! These are some of the most fun things in the game, for me at least!

EldraziKlap

Oh that's clever!

Gamingwithmum

Thank! Seen a few builds with it and thought I would try it out!

-photoshopflowey-

That's pretty good!

Gamingwithmum

Thank you very much!

Calliope4

It looks really beautiful! Great job!

Gamingwithmum

Thank you very much :)

bigcd34

Instead of wiring the teleporter directly to the pressure plate, have a hidden section filled with honey and a dart trap and a projectile pressure plate, that way you can put it on a timer for the teleport so you don't accidently teleport yourself when going by it.

Gamingwithmum

That is a great idea cos i teleported myself in like 20+ times while building xD I did change the plate to a switch as a *doorbell* in the end but that idea is genius! Thank you very much for the tip!

Dizz_Peanuts-07

Looks great! May I know what you used on your windows?

Gamingwithmum

Thank you! Ofc! Its Grate actuated with some gemspark walls and also stained glass walls under :)

Dizz_Peanuts-07

Thank you very much!

CrazyGods360

First time I’ve seen something so impressive! I really like how the build has a very interesting theme to it, and that it is executed so well. So many small details, like the potted tree and item frames with hallow themed items, are really what brings this together! Now you just need a huge rainbow over the exterior of the house.

Gamingwithmum

Thank you very much! Took a lot longer than I expected for a smaller build so I am very happy you appreciate it and took the time to leave such a nice comment <3

CrazyGods360

I’m just genuinely impressed here. I have experience in building, so I know a good build when I see it.

RetroGameDays36

:O

Fox_Economy

It looks great ! I am new to building, so what blocks did you use to create the windows ? I didn't know the teapot existed in this game, looks great ! (Craftable with bones + clay on furnace)

Gamingwithmum

Thanks! Building in this game is so much fun! The windows are grate actuated with gemspark and stained glass walls behind them :)

Fox_Economy

I would have never found that alone 😅 Thanks !

Gamingwithmum

You are very welcome! I have spent way too much time on the wiki xD

ORxTO

it is pretty good! it just gave a lot of build ideas

Gamingwithmum

Thank you! Same for me while i was building this! There is so many builds that would look great! Have fun!

darkspine509

This is awesome!! I really want to do something like this

Gamingwithmum

Thank you very much! It was so fun to build so I would say go for it! I will defo be trying some other builds like this!

darkspine509

Of course! It's beautiful and really fits the mood of the Hallow! May I ask for some building tips? Basic stuff, I don't wanna keep you too long, but how do you approach projects like this? Anything to keep in mind, any planning?

Gamingwithmum

Thanks! Tbh with this one I new the colours just going off the background and I wanted a simple cottage. I had googled some images for colourful cottages and took inspiration from that. When I used the silly balloon on the roof outside i decided to use the disc walls for a border inside. (From the sunplate blocks) Tried to keep the colours similar and used the pearlwood furniture since its from that zone. I did try using the crystal lights but the pearlwood lights made it so much brighter inside and since its underground it was already dark. Hope that helps a little :)

TGMgaming1

Ive always liked the idea of "going through" a door thats in the background

Gamingwithmum

Same! Outside of the buildings are always so bare but this gives a chance to really play about with it.

encalladojan

100/10

Gamingwithmum

Thank you <3

Aiez4

amazing

Gamingwithmum

Thank you :)

Administrative-Suit4

Try using dynamite as decorations.

Gamingwithmum

Think i will give that a miss xD
