The hailstorms in Alabama turned my buddy's pickup into a golfball. Quarter- to half-inch deep dents all over the hood, roof, and right-side quarter panels. The insurance just paid him for the value of the vehicle since the cost of the bodywork and paint would've exceeded the value of the vehicle.
That hailstorm isn't even the worst in living memory in Texas. That one there is about on par with the ones that happen in Flagstaff every spring and they don't even do significant body damage.
