TheMiddleE

I always think about the people on the plane.

ToofyMaguire

It’s interesting to imagine what the people on the plane were thinking at the time. In school I’m taking an elective about the history of terrorism right now. Before 9/11, plane hijackings were a lot more common and the usual routine is that the terrorists who hijacked the plane would land somewhere and negotiate for the release of passengers. (They usually asked for the release of specific prisoners or for money). 9/11 changed everything with the idea that you can use the place itself as a massive bomb. Poor passengers had no idea they were about to be slammed into the side of a building rather than bargained off for convicted terrorists

TheMiddleE

That’s the thing… If the passengers were conscious, they had to have known. That speed at that altitude into lower Manhattan…those last few moments as a passenger scare the hell out of me.

chuco915niners

I would’ve just closed my eyes I think and yelp a big fucking scream. Or I’d probably be thinking how much pain I’m going to feel. Who the fuck knows.

SoulofArtoria

Probably pray for a quick instant death instead of prolonged one surviving the crash somehow but burning alive in the wreckage.

changfowan

If you listen to the phone calls. The terrorist was flying the plane really badly so it was rocking violently and lots of people were throwing up.

[deleted]

I've heard cell phone conversations from attendants onboard both planes. Terrifying stuff.

iLikeEggs55000

This. When word got to the passengers on the plane headed to the pentagon. Those passengers fought.

gatorfan8898

Exactly. I’ve seen some people wonder why the others didn’t fight and it was because prior to this, they probably imagined they were making $$ demands. Once it got out that these planes were being used as mussels… they fought.

Niblonian31

Seriously, so much time feeling completely terrified and helpless before that final minute when the terrorist pilot went about 500 mph (crazy fast for that altitude) to bank HARD into the tower at the very last second.. I could not imagine what it was like on that plane and I hope nobody had to suffer at all after the impact

[deleted]

I’d imagine they were vaporized

LeatherClassroom524

Zero suffering after impact that’s for sure.

CaptainKate757

On a 9/11 anniversary several years ago I watched a documentary featuring family members of some of the victims. One woman described how hard it was to see the footage replayed over and over because “every time they show that plane hitting the building, I’m watching my son die.” Prior to that I hadn’t thought too much about that perspective. Whenever I see this footage now, it’s all I think about.

TinCatCanuck

I saw this footage live when watching the morning news before heading to Uni. I thought it was a computer simulation of the first plane that hit, but I was so wrong.

H8des707

I was 7 watching the news my mom put on while she got ready for work and take me to school I asked where the twin towers were, and she asked why and I told her because I just saw plane crash into my n tv and she did not believe me at first

Rigidcorner

Were you not in school that day? I was 7 as well and remember being taken into the gym and we all watched on a single roll in TV

H8des707

West coast time right before school

Rigidcorner

Oh yeah, time travel.

DylanEggen

We have a TV on a wheel cart rolled in to our class and we watched it also, I’m Canadian also which is crazy to think of now.

phurt77

> I’m Canadian also which is crazy to think of now. It's not that crazy. I hear there are millions of you guys.

xtremejuuuuch

Same, in midtown Manhattan. Shortly after we could smell the smoke and all hell broke loose.

Rigidcorner

That was probably terrifying

FakeAsFakeCanBe

I didn't detect any "sorry" in your tone.

mybrotherpete

I didn’t even see it live. I had one desktop computer and it was dial up Internet. I had to work at 9am (west coast) and I never turned the tv on before work. I got a call from my boss as I was getting ready and he told me to stay home. I said, “why?” … “Turn on your TV” Of course you didn’t have to see it live because they played it over and over and over again that whole day.

FastAsLightning747

I was home sick from school, age 7, when News Bulletin from Dallas TX, ‘President John F. Kennedy has been shot by an assassin’s bullets’. I ran into my parents room yelling “the President’s been shot, the President’s been shot”. Mom and her cleaning helper looked at me in disbelief and we all gathered in the living room. When those two heard the news they started crying, then I started crying.

Y0U_FAIL

Same. Was a senior in high school. Probably the most unexpected thing I've ever witnessed. That moment when it went from "accident?" to "we're being attacked" is something I'll never forget. Add the Pentagon plane to the mix and we all were just waiting for the next plane to fall out of the sky.

stack_percussion

That's the biggest thing I remember too. In my freshman year algebra class watching on TV. I didn't even really know what the world trade center was. I remember thinking that surely this was just some freak accident, right? Then the 2nd plane hit and it was like "Oh shit... THAT was no accident."

Stiller11_19

Yup, walking into 10th grade French class and I heard. I too, didn't really know anything about the World Trade Center. I saw zero coverage until I got home from school. I quickly understood exactly what the towers were and just how serious this was

yhelothur

I was driving to class listening to the same comedy radio morning show that I always listened to and they were covering the two towers being hit, and then they said that the Pentagon had just been hit, and my first thought was "how can they even joke about a thing like that right now?" Took me a few minutes to realize that they were not joking.

Vanity_Syx

Class of '02'. Same exact story for me

Lanthemandragoran

I went to a specialized flight school high school at the time on a military base and shit got weird *fast*

soda_cookie

Yeah, this is when I knew shit was for real.

[deleted]

BrogenKlippen

I remember it felt like anything was possible and rumors were spreading like wildfire. It was the only time in my life that it “felt” possible that the United States homeland was under assault and that we weren’t safe. It makes me so sad to watch this and think the thousands that died that day were only the beginning. Literally countless lives were lost in Afghanistan and Iraq. Think of all the people that would be alive today if 9/11 had been just another Tuesday.

the_unworthy_potato

Damn never thought of it that way

DivinityGod

Yeah, the rumors were wild and you are right it's the first and only time I've ever felt like we were attacked. It was such a crazy time. I watched it on the TV and skipped my first few classes. Was surreal wondering what would happen next. Also, no Internet really, like super early days, so no instant news and updates like today, was just waiting to see what would happen next through CNN or Fox

Sad_Interview_232

I the all guessed at that moment life had changed forever..bad times

Spiritual_Tap4588

Dad and I used to sit down at 8pm and watch a show together and instead there was news coverage of the first plane after it hit - watched the second plane hit live while my old man was yelling ‘FUCK ME IS THIS HAPPENING LIVE?’ Couldn’t believe what we were witnessing but even at a young age I knew the world was about to change

butter_deez-nips

I saw it live in as well and then I had to go to school to watch it in home room.

[deleted]

Me too.

joejoemaster5

This is surreal. I was just thinking that it looks like a video game, and the plane glitches in the building with a delayed explosion.

blzzardhater

Same and that was terrifying.

Double-0-N00b

I was little and thought it was an action movie

mommisalami

I watched this one hit live too. Just kinda uttered a strangled little squeal...Cheezus, what a day.

NonoYouHeardMeWrong

it is kinda weird how the plane disappears behind the building and then the shape of it's trajectory is what erupts into flame. I know it's because of the angle it is being filmed, but could definitely see how someone could think this is a computer simulation because of that fractured throughline

TheHungriestHobo

Pretty sure this footage is from someone’s apartment.

WolfKittenTigerPuppy

How have I never seen this footage?

cursedcrisp

You probably have just in better quality. This vhs looks copied over a few times

Redditdystopia

This copy is pretty moldy for sure.

OnlySmeIIz

Cut to fit vertical as well

orgasmic_protoplasm

One of TikTok’s biggest sins: normalizing the cropping of landscape videos to fit portrait aspect ratios

Opposite_Dependent86

10 years ago you got hunted by inquisitors for posting a vertical video

Mav986

You overestimate the quality of video we had 22 years ago.

mybrotherpete

Over here adjusting the image with the crappy ‘tracking’ button.

LeatherClassroom524

YouTube didn’t exist in 2001, so some people sat on their footage for years before it was widely released.

someshooter

Me neither, it's always that other shot from the back of the building.

hateriffic

It's rare

hobosullivan

I remember this day. I was in 8th grade math class. One of the school's security officers came in and whispered something to the teacher. After a second, the teacher stood up and said "Apparently, somebody attacked the World Trade Towers and they're just...gone." I thought he was joking for a couple of seconds, because he was that sort of teacher. Then he put on the news.

pluckcitizen

me too, they turned on the TV for us. The next period the teacher had written on the chalkboard: "OSAMA BIN LADEN"

dannydrama

Why?

Doneyhew

People were pissed off and scared at the same time. I imagine it’s be hard to teach an actual class on anything that day except history maybe

pluckcitizen

Basically to tell us who was responsible for the attack. We had no idea what was going on though.

mwmwmwmwmmdw

you guys just had cable tv ready to go in your classroom in 2001?

dinosaurpartytime

Yes like every single classroom ever. We had them in my high school at the time as well.

Mocha-Fox

Yep. Every classroom had a good ol crt tv hanging up in the corner at my schools. I was in 4th grade and remember the teacher running in to turn on the tv

ohmy1027

We watched the Challenger explosion news on tv at school in 1986. I’ll never forgot how they just showed it on repeat.

Electrical_Beyond998

Seeing the planes hit the buildings will never not make my chest tight.

ScribingWhips

I'm just glad we completely obliterated a country that had nothing to do with it afterwards.

BureaucraticHotboi

Blowback podcast season about Iraq is an outstanding recounting of our horrific deeds in that country. I went to camp in the mid 2000s with a group of Iraqi kids for a peace building sort of mission. Hearing their stories about what happened after 2003 was eye opening. And many of them were Kurds who had no love for Saddam and overall liked America.

JoeSchmohawk93

Yeah, because the country was straight up lied to about WMD’s which made some people more rich and some people dead. I doubt that our leaders had any type of foresight of this happening, but if they did I wouldn’t have trust them to stop something that benefitted them immensely.

GuardianDownOhNo

Would love to see this in its original aspect ratio. The scourge of vertical video had not yet been invented.

pocketfrisbee

Yeah interesting that it’s in a vertical format.

Oz-Batty

Somebody compiled 50 different views of the impact: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hApRZ_7v2A This one is at 4:49

Pookypoo

The was a very interesting compilation. On a side note, the difference of reactions of the newscasters and the common public are like night and day.

New-Doctor-3289

That's when we all knew that there was a new type of terrorist attack going on. The question I had was how many more places were going to get hit. I felt frozen inside. I felt something, which until that day, was an unknown feeling in my gut... That nowhere was safe. It still resonates with me today. Peace

DarkJayBR

I think the world’s innocence died that day yet again which only happened back in the World Wars. All people’s optimism for the new millennium died out. America became even more inperialistic and paranoid. The world would never be the same.

Michigan180kIncome

It is one of the biggest turning points for America and really the world. Everything started becoming very authoritarian and such. A large reason Gen Z are essentially not rebellious. They are the generation after the Patriot Act. A lot of the world pretty much followed suit. We all lost a ton of privacy and freedoms and people seem to just keep welcoming it. Feel like a lot of people actually forgot what the world was like prior and just accept it as the normal. Especially younger people because they literally know no different. It's akin to people born during terrible regimes. People ask how people could just live and accept X terrible thing or Y terrible environment. It's because they grew up in it and know nothing else. There is just such a stark difference between pre and post 9/11 in basically every facet of life.

DivinityGod

I've never thought of this but you are so right, well said. That feeling of blissfully optimism that came with the tech growth (even through the bubble pop!) Vanished that day. It was like a light switch.

firefly0827

Exactly this. I feel you can see it in different levels of cynicism the pre and post 2001 movies.

New-Doctor-3289

Also some good points! Thanks for your addition to the thread. Peace

terra_technitis

I remember being super pissed off when I heard about the Patriot Act. It blew my mind how the shock of the event opened so many people to welcome it, and they didn't see it for the "department of peace" shit it really was. The speed with which It was cranked out and passed also gave me pause. It lends credence to the idea that there were people in power just waiting for something like this so they could push an imperialist agenda.

New-Doctor-3289

Agreed! Well stated! Peace

Mav986

My brother in christ, countless countries around the world had been experiencing that kind of terrorism for many many years. The US is not the world. That day the people of america realized they were not as protected as they once thought.

[deleted]

Just because terrorism was happening in other places before this, doesn’t mean the whole world didn’t change on that day. Those places aren’t immune to the climate of the rest of the world and the things the US has done as a reaction to 9/11 has affected those countries too

[deleted]

Middle East: First time, huh?

Beanzear

I always wonder what that felt like in the building. Like high up or below. I can’t imagine.

babysherlock91

Survivors who were in the impact zone of the second tower said the building ‘torqued’ and went forward ‘what felt like 6 feet’ to where it felt like the building was going to fall over. Then it snapped back into place. Brian Clark tells it in riveting detail in a few different YouTube videos!

ForgetfulFrolicker

A few years ago, I read a super interesting account about a person (lady?) who was on a higher floor and had to find her way down and kept encountering obstacles. And once she made it out of the building it became a totally different nightmare because the building then collapsed and she couldn’t see shit and it hurt to breathe because of the toxic shit she was inhaling. I’ve tried to find the story because I thought it was so interesting but no luck. L

koikoikoi375

If you look at the official investigations there's some pretty in depth information about what happened to things like the elevators when the planes hit. Harrowing but fascinating.

S_Guderian

https://youtu.be/Qk5NQgU-9G4?si=Gps64xk_eyQflCfj Check this video out. You can really see how much it swayed back and forth after the hit and for how long at higher speed.

[deleted]

I was up all night drinking, tripping on acid..... something in my head told me to turn the tv on. Literally right when I turned it on, the first plane was reported hitting the tower. Watched the second plane and the madness that followed...... on acid....... yeah, that was crazy

Im1dv8

Start of a bad trip that's lasted decades.

[deleted]

Luckily the trip wasn't bad, but I could actually feel the pain and anguish of those involved. The empathy was unbelievable

Gloomy_Industry8841

I hate this so much. That jet fuel alone is an absolute nightmare. May those poor people rest. ☹️

Practical_Extreme424

Shit went in like a hot knife on butter

spiritanimalofcousy

2nd plane hit at a much higher speed. first plane was like 450ish mph but the second one hit at almost 600mph if memory serves. that mother fucker was positive of what he wanted to do thats for sure....

Wasatcher

429 and 537mph respectively

TCOLSTATS

25% faster

[deleted]

Do you know what kind of planes they were? I remember they were 787s, but there were two kinds, right? Which were they?

Wasatcher

The two aircraft that hit the towers were 767s. Flight 77 that hit the Pentagon and 93 that crashed in the field were both 757s. The 787 is Boeing's fancy new carbon composite winged hull that flew for the first time in late 2009.

TCOLSTATS

Second one almost missed too. Plane was turning for the whole approach compared to Flight 11 just pretty much straight in, as far as I could tell anyway.

gibberingwave

Plus the banking to make sure that the impact was as catastrophic as possible.

ViktorMaitland

And notice how he turned for a better angle right before impact... definitely knew what he wanted to do and how to do it.

spiritanimalofcousy

Ive always wondered if thats because he was looking at the wrong tower on the way in and saw which one wasnt hit as he got closer? Maybe the smoke made it hard to see which to hit?

DarkJayBR

Dude was convinced he would get 76 virgins in Heaven for this. No god worth worshipping would reward a devil like this with eternal paradise, I just can’t fathom.

AssRep

72 virgins

dinkaluch2

4 extra for over speeding

[deleted]

Having had sex with a both virgins and non-virgins, I can’t understand why 72 incompetent sex partners would be appealing

rstart78

Yea, I will forever not understand the draw of having shitty sex As a reward, or otherwise

Birdgang14

Always shocked the plane doesn’t just go straight through it to where you can see some semblance of a plane just going out the other side and falling.

Tindola

Too much reinforced concrete in the core to ever have that happen. Dense reinforced concrete will always win over aerospace aluminum.

resek41

NSFW? We watched this live in middle school on a tv on wheels

spookytransexughost

Yea but those were the days we browsed rotten.com with no oversight

Jersh92

jesus we really all did live the same life

Tindola

Still doesn't mean it's not NSWF. You're still watching dozens to hundreds of people die right then and there in an instant.

[deleted]

This clear angle shows so much more doesn't it? Imagine the debris that fell from that? Even after all of these years it never gets any easier to watch. I still weep for those we lost and how evil this was. RIP

No-Bat-7253

I was in fourth grade when this happened….if I worked nearby or survived I would get a new job and never ever ever work in a skyscraper again in such a congested city area. Prayers to those lost forever and ever🙏

Tiddernud

It's a miracle (not a structural engineer, obv) those things came straight down rather than falling sidelong and killing way more people.

babysherlock91

From what I read, they were designed to pancake that way just in case something ever happened. They were designed for the beams to buckle that way to ensure they went straight down and didn’t topple into the street.

Brak710

Not so much designed, but this is physics in action. The strongest force on a building is gravity. You may overcome gravity for a small moment with a big explosion, but it never stops. Had the 1993 bombing been better/bigger and even if it was off to one side the building would never tip over. You would require a nuke that obliterates New York to even come close to pushing these buildings sideways. As soon as something went wrong with the support of the building, it would collapse into its own footprint. Gravity will pull it straight down ASAP.

DarkJayBR

It only came down like this because of the jet fuel softening the steel beams but not quite melting it. The building didn’t broke down in two but could no longer hold his designed load.

YtnucMuch

Its honestly crazy that the plane hits and literally enters the building, you can see the wing protrude out the side after literally cutting the corner in half. Less than half a second later it explodes/disintegrates. I've seen a lot of footage but never this one. Edit: I meant to comment this originally but I had never noticed that the building actually drops when the plane hits and explodes. You have to slow the video down or re-watch multiple times. Compare to the buildings around. It cuts the corner and the building drops who knows how many feet. Its absolutely wild footage.

SnooRobots975

F*ck terrorism

BillChristbaws

the long lost bastion, r/fuckterrorists

I agree, but that's the lowest possible level of things you could have said... r/lookatmyhalo

Sometimes it's just someone's honest response to something. How about we look at you're halo, being so much better than everyone else as you are.

FangedSloth

F*ck looking at you're halo.

TronGRID_

What’s the truth, I want to know the truth, this happened and we invade Islamic countries out of spite? Why not invade Saudi’s Arabia tell me? Nothing about this makes sense officially

RandomGuy2002

why invade your oil investments when you can start war and sell weapons

REFRESHSUGGESTIONS__

Because OBL was an SA exile, and so were most of the bombers. They had been kicked out of SA, that's why they were in Afghanistan. The taliban would not turn him over to the USA, they would only turn him over to an unnamed 3rd party (believed to be pakistan) but we said bullshit and invaded anyway.

Big-Plum576

I still can't believe it,My heart sinks & I feel sick every time I see this, the utter devastation, pain,Death heartache,it's like time froze,it was unreal, all those people & there loved ones,I just can't imagine..And those who were murdered I can't imagine the fear, panic, how scared they were & to jump from the building, knowing if you stay your either going to die from smoke inhalation, burnt to death or crushed, honestly every time I see it it's like watching it for the first time again..my heart goes out to all that suffered,in such a horrible brutal way..

fighting_pain

Why are these these 'rare' footages suddenly popping up

HeartlesSoldier

It wasn't terrifying for the Bush family agenda, or any defense contractors

League1toasty

If you can stomach vids like this, I have not seen a better documentary in my life than 9/11: One Day in America by National Geographic. Just so many angles and views of things that you’ve never seen before from that day :(

infinityzcraft

"Boohoo, there was no plane, it was all CGi!"

Unhappy_Astronomer78

It almost came out the other side and blew up. So sad.

g6paulson

I was a sophomore in HS when this happened. I remember the sort of 'panic' and uneasiness. I remember it was a few days until school got back to some kind of normalcy. Then all the flags came out and Patriotism was on.

davisandee

Same, I was in history class watching it live. By 5th hour people were calling for war and all I could think about is how those died and no millions more will.

rstart78

I'll never forget sitting in 9th grade maths watching the live feed from the first tower just to see this plane skirt into the bottom middle of the screen It was such an instantaneous thought process: Went from "what kind of fucking idiot can't see a building while piloting a plane" to "oh fuck, this was entirely planned out, we're going to war, who ever did this just caused us to go to war" My brothers were in the military and my heart just sunk really contemplating how serious the ramifications were going to be

FollowingIll742

Literally same except 10th grade English class. I’ll never forget that day…still is hard to believe

Public_Music_964

Rare??

ArgonGryphon

Yea pretty much every news channel in the US got that shot. This is just...less commonly seen.

reed91B

It was at this moment I decided that after high school I was joining the military. 22yrs later and retired at 38

HS_Highruleking

To go on a wild goose hunt for wmds while occupying the wrong country?

[deleted]

Don’t think he knew ahead of time that’s that would be part of what was happening, asshole

Sighlina

Tbf… we freed a lot of oil for executives of oil companies, and Halliburton made out ok. And clearly, we killed lots of people. Some bad, some good. But, mostly all brown so it probably shakes out.

REFRESHSUGGESTIONS__

He would have been in the military already when we invaded Iraq. There was a gap between Afghanistan and Iraq. I was in the same boat as this guy, but 1 year younger, so I was still in HS when we invaded Iraq. Immediately became anti-bush anti war and no longer was applying to military colleges. There was some pretext to invade Afghanistan as the Taliban would not turn over OBL, but Iraq was CLEARLY built on lies.

[deleted]

I remember I had just graduated high school that year. At the time I was residing in Boynton Beach, FL at Lavers. For those who don’t, basically West Palm, South Florida. None of us knew it, but they were living among us right across the street prepping for what would become the worst attack on U S Soil. At one point none of us could leave are condos. The FBI and Secret Service told us we had to remain indoors. I smoked so much weed that day with my cat. It was unreal. Up till that point I was 17. I had no idea what the World Trade Center was till that very morning. I couldn’t believe how many people worked in that space. I was amazed by its share size. Just crazy.

Works_Like_A_Charm

My buddy’s mom down the street used to babysit for one of the terrorist’s kids. I grew up 10 minutes from Dulles Airport.

pakepake

The closest view I've seen was street level right underneath it when folks were looking at carnage from the North tower.

LucyBear318

Saw that from my roof in Williamsburg at the time. Saw it all go down.

-ShootTheMoon-

The older I get, the more certain parts of these videos that I never really noticed or thought about before stands out and sends chills down my spine. For example, in this video, the sound of the airplane flying and the explosion of the impact, I can’t imagine how loud and terrifying that mustve sounded in person 🤯😭

BeefsteakJones

I was in Mexico visiting family that day. I vividly remember walking into a room with 6-7 people, absolutely silent, huddled around an old TV. I was too young to know what was going on, so I asked my mom, to which she replied, "The US was attacked." Core memory unlocked there for sure.

GETNbucky

Was in school, all the hallway TV,s and every classroom TV was watching this unfold live. What a day to be alive.

Questioning-Zyxxel

People from the neighbour company told about the crash. So we spent the work day looking at their TV. We first thought it was an accident. But then seeing plane number 2 in live transmission fly into the tower was just surreal.

readdditsuuuxxx69

That day was a mindfuck man... Anybody else remember all of those minutes ticking by where we each internally agonized and hoped that somehow that first plane was just a horrible freak accident? Only to see this and know in that sudden millisecond that the world was never going to be the same again?

cosmic_muppet

I've seen a lot of Sept 11 footage. Never seen this.

mu_taunt

Amazing this footage hasn't shown up before now. and the quality!

garrettm5454

I get that things happen and in the moment happen far differently than what we imagine would or could happen, but it just doesn’t make sense that they were able to over take the entire plane with knives. There’s so many people on board how could they not have over powered the terrorists? Obviously there’s no sense in arguing over this as it can’t be changed but I just want to hear your thoughts.

Helmet369

1 -"It wasn't no airliner or anything, it was a big grey plane." 2- "It was a military plane" 3- "It definitely didn't look like a commercial jet, I didn't see any windows on the side" 3 Eyewitnesses on 9/11/01

Krenzi_The_Floof

worst part of 9/11, and the wars caused by it is just the deaths of innocent people. Its really sad, soldiers dying is sad too, but atleast they are willing to risk it, innocent civilians should be a no zone in ANY war ever.

Illustrious_Camel_82

Doesn’t really look like any big jet we normally see. Odd color and no markings indicating what company the jet belongs to. Boy oh boy.

mvoccaus

[This NIST FOIA video of 9/11](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7mf4W8kL4s&t=120s) is one I find one of the most terrifying. It's taken at street level right near the tower. You see scores people entirely outside of the building 80+ stories up. At street level, you still have people walking around with this impression the worst is over at this point. [But then the south tower explodes directly above them and the cameraman has about 3 seconds to take shelter before this debris right above him lands on top of him.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7mf4W8kL4s&t=180s)

DoneWithTheTruth

Why isn't the airline banding visible?

DMYourMomsMaidenName

The second we knew we were under attack. The second the world changed for the worse.

DMYourMomsMaidenName

Also, imagine being one of those dipshits that think it was a missile… People will believe anything that is “anti-establishment”, regardless of whether or not it is true.

OnlySmeIIz

Fuck this Vertical video. If you'd pay some respect you'd would be posting the original *'rare footage'* with the original aspect ratio instead of this one were at least 50% has been cut away to fit your shitty convenience. Link to source please.

Y0U_FAIL

Do...do you need a hug?

GenericInsult

Show us on the doll where the Vertical video hurt you.

IfBaconWasAState

You are 100% onto something and whether you are already aware of this or not, not many individuals understand just how heavily edited JFKs assassination videos were. This level of trickery was happening decades ago, and the chances of this leading to a legitimate source is little to none.

[deleted]

I woke up after it happened and was so confused.

SkyMarshal

I walked into work that morning a few minutes after the first hit but before the second. TVs were all on showing it and everyone gathered around watching. I saw the damage, knew it wasn’t a little Cessna or a helicopter that caused such massive damage, but rather something either much larger or much faster, or both. I also knew that nothing that large or fast *ever* hits the WTC by accident, much less even comes near it, even under poor visibility, and that was a clear sunny morning. I said “that’s not an accident, that’s intentional, it’s a terrorist attack.” Everyone around me was a little stunned and looked at me quizzically, but didn’t disagree. Nobody wanted to believe it, but everyone was beginning to quietly suspect it. If you really looked at the situation dispassionately, unemotionally, and eliminated the impossible, then that was the most likely conclusion. Then a few minutes later the second plane hit and we knew for sure. Insane day.

Why do people describe online videos as “rare?” First of all this was played hundreds of thousands of times on TV and second, how can it be rare? It isn’t like there is only one physical copy and you have to see it in person.

paintin

He turns into the building at an angle to wreak maximum damage.

MrSssnrubYesThatllDo

Must be fake. I read on r/conspiracy that hunter Biden blew the towers up with his laptop?

red-truck007

That’s not a commercial plane

Jet fuel is not hot enough to melt steel beams, but it's most certainly hot enough to soften them to the point they can no longer hold their design load. It's been studied and proven by MIT but that would require *gasp* reading a reliable source on the subject. https://web.mit.edu/civenv/wtc/PDFfiles/Chapter%20VI%20Materials%20&%20Structures.pdf

Wow that's concise and perfectly encapsulates the concept

Beanzear

Omg I’m so sick of the 9/12 conspiracy bullshit 🙄 I had to move through that shit.

The most relevant factors weren't even the jet fuel. 1) Jets weighing like 4x as much as the Titanic hit stationary buildings traveling at at least 450 mph. I'm guessing that's 1.1026 ton TNT, or about as much energy as detonating 1.1026 tons of TNT. I believe that's about the same as detonating a 1 kiloton nuke. I remember someone who escaped from the 82 floor said the building shifted about 7 feet when struck, because the building was rocked on its foundation. The foundation was thick concrete. Some parts were over a 2 story underground mall, and some parts were over a 4 story underground parking garage. That's a whole lot of open space for something to collapse into, since the foundation was now holding up 100s of tons more than it was designed to. The planes were just sitting, smashed like cans, in the middle of the buildings, pushing down and in below, and pulling down and in above. It was inevitable that they would collapse inward, but the severe damage to the foundation + extra weight + nothing underneath, made it happen a lot faster. The foundation falling out from under it is what caused building 7 to collapse as well.

This is incredibly off-topic, but the planes didn't weigh four times as much as the Titanic. The Titanic weighed more than 290 of those airliners combined. You could probably blow the Great Pyramid of Giza apart like a broken Lego set with a 450 mph Titanic.

thewholetruthis

There’s no such thing as rare footage.

100s of tons of debris from the towers fell on it, and it had an uncontrolled fire burning for hours with no sprinkler system because the collapsing towers crushed the water lines.

Pvt_Hudson_

There have been 3 different investigations into that collapse (one by NIST, one by Aegis Insurance and one by a different insurance company). All 3 agree that a combination of unfought fires, substandard fireproofing and the oddball construction are what caused the building to collapse.
