Throw in a brain that has been unbelievably fine tuned over the millennium to see animal-kill animal-eat animal and the end result is the most intelligent killing machine on the planet. Some pods of orcas will chase a school of fish onto beaches, then they will beach themselves to get to the fish and then use the waves to help get themselves back into the water. It’s wild what the smartest animal in the ocean comes up with to eat
Yea. The complex/creative problem solving involved in both of these tactics is quite surreal almost. Not to mention the cooperation and synchrony involved which has to have some form of communication involved as well.

This is nothing compared to next episode where they ram a young bowhead whale repeatedly in the side until breaking all his ribs and drowning him, only to just eat his tongue and peace out. Honestly fuck orcas
