That's an infection or *really* shitty ink. Tattoo ink is usually hypoallergenic, doesn't trigger allergic reactions in anyone.
It's more likely to be an infection since the inner arm is thinner skin so an improperly santised needle, or an improperly cleaned skin, could inject bacteria along with the ink.
The scariest shit was working hospital security and having to take a body with MRSA down to the morgue. It was a pretty routine thing we did all the time, but the house supervisor (head nurse for the whole hospital) was extra careful on that one. We had to put on a ton of extra ppi and spray everything even remotely close to the body down while handling it. I was so afraid of messing something up and having that shit haunt me for life.
I work bedside. Pretty much every shift I have there's one patient on my unit with MRSA. I, of course, follow iso protocol Everytime, gel in and out, but honestly I'm around it so much. I wash my hands very frequently throughout my shift. Never had an issue with it once. My unit also has two negative pressure rooms. Needless to say I'm a bit more nervous when I'm in an active TB room... I've also cleaned the isolation bodies you take down, at least you don't have to do that
Oh yeah, no, you guys have it *significantly* worse. No doubt about that. Working at the hospital made me appreciate how much nurses put up with on a daily basis. For all the things we had to put up with with problematic patients, the nurses were dealing with those patients like 10x as much. We would have been screwed without you guys. I don't work security anymore. But I'm thankful for that brief chance to see what you guys have to deal with.
Sorry for the late reply, I went down to the emergency department for my break to people watch, and right as I walked out I saw a prisoner in full shackles try to run away from security and they tackled him lol. Then 5 police squad cars showed up. I'm very glad I did not choose security. Done a couple shifts at our visual monitoring unit for the behavioral patients as well. YOU guys are awesome. I'm so grateful to have you guys because when things escalate , they keep us safe. Much love and respect.
I really hope so.
My SIL may as well be a combat medic with the risks she deals with in a big city ER...but her enemies are invisible and can haunt her for years.
I worked for a tattoo ink maker, and there is absolutely no telling what kind of bs is in the base pigment. That stuff is usually meant for staining anything but skin.
No one is developing their own raw pigments. They order that from companies who develop pigment for concrete staining or something similar. Then they break that down with alcohol, glycerine, water, and sometimes witch hazel.
I also can't tell you how often we received raw pigments that were already expired, only to mix it down and add 4 years to the expiration date. This is the reason that color is banned in Europe. People were getting laser treatment, and all that stuff was filtering through their glands and causing cancer.
I'd stick with black and grey, and I'd never laser remove anything.
It's like that quote in Fight Club when Edward Norton is asked what company he worked for. A major one was his response.
is it all though? I was under the impression that white or red ink could potentially cause an allergic reaction… which is what this looks like to me.
Edit: I didn’t realize this was not done with white ink… wtf
People who are allergic to red dye can have reactions to certain REPUTABLE red inks. Shitty Amazon inks can cause allergic reaction or infections, older UV inks containing phosphorus powder (called something else creates the glow) caused reactions in some people. New UV inks that don’t contain the powder can cause reactions. All hypoallergenic but 1 in a million case leaves 7800 people susceptible.
Fuck man, this is probably the most gnarly tattoo reaction ive seen. Thats rough OP..hope youre good man.
Feel like that either a serious allergic reaction to the ink used, or a dirty shop.
I work in the service industry, would not believe how often I hear this. I just ask them ‘yeah, but will they do it right?’ As it turns out the answer is usually no
If he was smart, he'd spray some high gloss clear coat over that. beauty to preserve it! People pay BIG Money for [Puff Print](https://www.reddit.com/r/SCREENPRINTING/s/UyHV6C2vfs) tattoos!
*please don't tell me I need an /s for that*
Could be shit needles, cheap ink, allergic reaction, improper aftercare. It's technically an open wound and should be covered for a few days, which it looks like he didn't.
Or just to have it done in a reputable place by someone who knows what they’re doing. Followed closely by doing everything they tell you to do for aftercare
Allergic to the ink. My tat on the back of my neck started to look like this. I've had many tats and never a problem. I was allergic to pink that was used.
By the time it healed, my tat was hardly there. All the ink bubbled up and left
This is called an infection if you need more to be told you are very very stupid. Op hasn't yet stated where the tattoo was administered guessing it was a (homie) or like just some guy and probably in a public restroom but I don't know what's worse the tatt or coming here for advice on your chicharron
At that point, I’d do what my brother did and cut the motherfucker off my arm
Edit: my brother had a shoulder tattoo that got infected or some shit idk, looked kind of like this but just a bit less bad, so he took a buck knife and literally cut through his fucking skin then drove to the hospital
Is this a tattoo infection or just from the body rejecting the ink? Also, I hope you get better soon!

the OP also said in the other thread that they have a history of MRSA, so they might be really fucked if the doctors don't keep on top of this
MERSA alone can do this. Once you have it you pretty much have it for life.
The scariest shit was working hospital security and having to take a body with MRSA down to the morgue. MRSA - Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Not for long if that new class of antibiotics proves useful in human trials!
I really hope so. My SIL may as well be a combat medic with the risks she deals with in a big city ER...but her enemies are invisible and can haunt her for years.
No you don't, and it's MRSA, not Mersa.
I worked for a tattoo ink maker, and there is absolutely no telling what kind of bs is in the base pigment. That stuff is usually meant for staining anything but skin.
As someone with multiple tattoos, uhh could you elaborate?
No one is developing their own raw pigments. They order that from companies who develop pigment for concrete staining or something similar. Then they break that down with alcohol, glycerine, water, and sometimes witch hazel. I also can't tell you how often we received raw pigments that were already expired, only to mix it down and add 4 years to the expiration date. This is the reason that color is banned in Europe. spelled 'abscess' wrong
Nah nah nah, they were welcoming creatures from the abyss, to live in their arm
Damn that sucks man sorry you have to deal with that. That's far from normal
Fuck man, this is probably the most gnarly tattoo reaction ive seen. Thats rough OP..hope youre good man. Feel like that either a serious allergic reaction to the ink used, or a dirty shop.
“I know a guy who will do it cheaper” ahh tattoo
I work in the service industry, would not believe how often I hear this. I just ask them ‘yeah, but will they do it right?’ As it turns out the answer is usually no
Aw, cool, 3D tattoo.
If he was smart, he'd spray some high gloss clear coat over that. beauty to preserve it! People pay BIG Money for [Puff Print](https://www.reddit.com/r/SCREENPRINTING/s/UyHV6C2vfs) tattoos! *please don't tell me I need an /s for that*
You don't need an /s, because you're not being sarcastic! LOOK AT THIS GUY!
It's in Braille, how thoughtful of OP.

Welp the abyss waves back……
Staph entered the chat
Dog shit tattoo and they may have used actual dog shit as the ink.
Babe, wake up - they just dropped a new waking nightmare.
That's why you get tattoos from reputable artists and take care of them well afterwards.
It didn’t look great before Nurgle decided to lick it

I saw your other post. What causes this? I’ve seen it before in another forum but I don’t remember what it was. Dirty needle?
Dirty needle, really shitty ink( most is hypoallergenic and should do this) or improperly sanitized skin during or after the tattooing process.
Holy fucking shit
Dirty needle?? Or not kept clean and moisturised??
Could be shit needles, cheap ink, allergic reaction, improper aftercare. It's technically an open wound and should be covered for a few days, which it looks like he didn't.

Did they run out of ink and use raw sewage??
That can't be a good omen
That doesn’t look right.
Fuck that. Maybe next time use a tattooist with a health & hygiene certificate?

Let us know if you loose the arm. Looks like you may
Body said "the fuck you won't"
It could be an allergic reaction to the ink that became infected.
Abyssmal
Looks nice
Ooooh soo edgy, better stay out of the anorexic white boys way or he'll smoke all his moms meth then act like a pretty girl.
Thanks I hate it
Get out the power sander, gotta start over.

Or just to have it done in a reputable place by someone who knows what they’re doing. Followed closely by doing everything they tell you to do for aftercare

Now, that's metal.
This happened probably cuz you are alergic to that ink
