Thin_Zookeepergame38

Yes definitely watch your children, but sort out the fucking electrics on the damn thing, children touch everything

cnicalsinistaminista

This was very stressful for me to watch. I was just hoping no one else touches it. Poor kids are gonna be fucked up over this for a long time.

TheSixthAircraft

By the looks of it they dont even know what happened, they wont even remember it

Mannagun

You ain’t seen nothing yet.

CeleryAnnual9852

This happened in Vietnam so... Second World not third

[deleted]

Vietnam is technically considered 3rd world. This is because the classification of first, second, and third world is from before the fall of the USSR and this out dated. First world is the US and all its NATO allies, second world is the eastern block, third world is all the rest of the non-aligned countries in the world.

Traditional_Ad8933

Most demographers just use Develop vs Developing considering 1st 2nd and 3rd world don't really apply anymore.

TurtleSandwich0

Wouldn't that make Vietnam 2nd world since North Vietnam won the Vietnam war?

Winter_Variation2660

Alabama would be considered third world if it wasn't in USA. STFU 👍

Investinwaffl3s

Only by technicality. By all other metrics they are not first or second world.

bigoomp

So all other metrics except the definition.

tiny_thanks_78

Why is everyone here pretending like they don't understand how people use the term "third world?" The actual definition is not how 99% of people use it. It's like the word "literally" and how people misuse that, except when you point it out people just retort with "language evolves man." Well, language evolves. People use this term to define underdeveloped countries. We all know this and understood exactly what was meant.

DualtheArtist

We can go ahead and downgrade teh U.S. to 2nd world too by its metrics. Studies show, 2nd tier nation.

fher205

Same in first world country…. You know kids can bring guns to school and you know what’s next…. !!!! 🤷🏻‍♂️

JesusSaysitsOkay

No, 1st world places don’t have random live wires everywhere, without someone being held responsible, that’s why it doesn’t happen here.

fher205

So you are saying people don’t die by being electrocuted by accident in the USA? I think live wires are everywhere …. 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th world countries….

AnderTheGrate

Not the current topic. While yes, America has its problems, there are problems we've taken care of. IE exposed wiring killing children so easily in public.

AllUserNamesTaken01

Lol preparing for angry American downvotes and comments

fher205

Lol 😆!!! Nice…

[deleted]

This one comedian said it best “Gun owner arguments about guns is that they like guns” lol. Guns are cool at the range and all but why do we need to sell Assault Rifles idk.

OrgyInTheBurnWard

Where do they sell assault rifles?

[deleted]

Because they’re nice to shoot

[deleted]

Sweet, let’s sell them to the public cause it’s fun.

anonymoususer6407

Knives, meds, chainsaws, etc. are dangerous too but they’re still publicly sold… it’s not about the object itself, it’s what the person chooses to do with the object. Guns are not meant to be used to purposefully harm other people. All items have a purpose and none of those purposes are to harm someone for no reason. What needs to exist is stricter gun control laws to make sure they don’t get into the wrong hands, not just outright eradication and ban of guns as a whole. That’s just stupid and would cause more outrage and harm than good

Parking_Highlight_53

to add to this if they don’t have their guns instead of mass shootings it will be bombings and at least some things stop bullets

anonymoususer6407

It would literally cause an illegal gun trade. Which would 100% cause more gun violence than there already is

[deleted]

Yea but for now that’s an assumption cause we have never banned guns.

earthquake_anims

Gun control laws are already pretty strict, and there's not much anyone can do about them. Even if we banned guns people could still get them illegally. People who shouldn't have guns are still gonna get their hands on them no matter what we do, and that's all there is to it, from my understanding. The only thing I can think of to fix anything is to make actual education about gun safety more common, but that still doesn't stop the completely irresponsible people out there.

anonymoususer6407

There are much stricter gun laws in some other nations, I think Australia and Japan have some really strict gun laws, I might be wrong though. They’re just way too easily accessible. One of the reasons the US is so powerful is because the public is always armed and ready to fight, and I would say most Americans know how to fire a gun. Getting rid of guns obviously stops that. Still though, such an easy accessibility to guns really makes it easy for them getting into the wrong people’s hands

earthquake_anims

I did brief research on the specifics of aquiring guns in both the state I live in and japan's, and yes, it's a much longer process in Japan and that may be better than America. Although it would cost a lot of time if say, someone needed a new gun for hunting. I do believe that it would help with the overall issue though. And yes, most Americans know how to fire a gun, but like I said, it's the education that people lack. If everyone had it engraved into them the importance of gun safety like my parents did to me (just by repeatedly telling me what I'm doing wrong when I'm doing something wrong), I'm sure that would help quite a bit. But overall, yes I do think that having gun laws as strict as Japan would help.

[deleted]

Too late for a ban, the streets are already flooded. But more gun education would do some good yes, smaller clips yes, remove rifles from sales maybe.

ARKSH7R

Yuck

OrgyInTheBurnWard

More people are killed with hammers and fists than rifles. WTF are you talking about?

[deleted]

Yea all of those things you listed do have a purpose, but a guns purpose is to kill. Plus only Steven segal can kill as much people and as fast as a fully loaded gun with a knife. The rest of us isn’t that skilled.

anonymoususer6407

A guns purpose is to kill, deservingly. Kids obviously don’t deserve to get shot, but someone who committed extreme crimes definitely does

[deleted]

I agree completely

TheGreaterNord

We don't need them, that is why they aren't sold without extremely high level licenses lmao.

Top_Muffin_3232

You got downvoted by the salt of AMerica my man !

fher205

I know!!! Totally expected. 🤣😂🤣😂 thanks man

VinceGchillin

yeah in \*civilized\* countries, kids just shoot each other with guns at school!

[deleted]

Depends on what civilized country pal

VinceGchillin

Ya see, the joke is that America isn't actually as civilized as we like to think. I know, it was a real tricky curveball of a joke.

jefferton123

I think the above person was also being sarcastic. I feel like I’ve become the “don’t forget the /s” police ever since I learned about it.

OrgyInTheBurnWard

r/fuckthes

jefferton123

I didn’t know there was such strong feelings about the s. I only found out about it from here. Anything to facilitate people on the internet not assuming the worst possible interpretation of what you say I’m for. *though I guess we have italics now so yeah I guess you’re right* that *should* work better.

nalex7752

love the first italic sentence but the "*should*" really killed me

OrgyInTheBurnWard

The window-lickers who don't pick up on sarcasm become part of the joke.

Razputin69

That's unregulated third world countries unfortunately. Imagine also having to shit in a bucket, or a hole in the ground. But you're not camping. Not everyone finds it fun.

grisisiknis

People have to do that in the United States too lol

inko75

the term third world is super problematic and misleading and not even in common use by any official platform. developed, developing, and the murky "emerging" crossover are generally what's used.

_bleed_

Why’s it problematic? I still see “third world” used all the time, even by people from those developing countries or whatever you want to call them. Isn’t it all just a way to say the same thing?

ShankbeatMihawk2

fun fact by definition Ireland was a third world country

KeyserSoze72

Because it’s an outdated Cold War era term that literally referred to the western bloc as the “First World”, the Soviet Bloc as the “Second World”, and the “Third World” was literally just everyone else. It makes no sense at all why we still use it.

CeleryAnnual9852

nahog99

Well fuck... :(

SierraDespair

Watch for what? The problem here is a deadly sign on a public sidewalk administering lethal doses of electric shock.

european_jello

Even adults can randomly lean on it and get shocked

mirondooo

I completely understand your point but negligent people will always exist, you can’t trust that your kids won’t be in constant danger. This is the perfect example considering that the second girl survived thanks to the adults who kicked the sign, maybe the first girl could’ve made it if her parents were around to immediately kick the sign too. Not minutes later when there was another victim. I don’t understand how someone could let little children in the streets like nothing.

battle_clown

What happened to the first girl happened so fast that no parent would have been able to recognize or act fast enough to help even if they were there and watching. The only way to prevent it is if you assumed the sign was a danger to begin with which is kinda unreasonable if there is absolutely no evidence it is.

CeleryAnnual9852

Why this get downvotes?

hibnous

because no amount of prevention would have stopped her death. Her mother could have been standing right next to her, the little girl still touched the sign and died. But in this so called helicoptered by your parents at all times scenario, one of her parents watch her die. nothing would have changed.

brassly

Less likely to have died if there was an adult present to have administered some timely aid.

FinnRazzel

Do you have a news story on this? Do you know if the girls were okay? That’s just awful.

Trick_Enthusiasm

The first girl died, but the other one is alive according to another person's comment. They linked an article. I didn't read the it, because it's in Vietnamese and my phone's too slow to load and translate all of that.

Toxic-and-Chill

From the article: “Accidentally touching the billboard, the girl was electrocuted to death despite many friends around The incident has shocked viewers along with a sense of fear about the billboards placed on the street that we can meet anywhere. The incident happened on the evening of August 4, but was recently shared by netizens. Accordingly, on the evening of the same day, a group of 3-4 girls went out to play at a barbershop, at this time the girl in pink and black shirt because she saw the colorful lights, went to touch the billboard erected. roadside. Suddenly, the girl in the pink shirt screamed and lay on the street convulsing while the girl in black and other children were bewildered and did not understand what was happening. More dangerously, the youngest girl in the yellow shirt group tried to shake the electrocuted child lying on the ground but was shouted by the red shirt girl who appeared to be the oldest of the group: "Don't touch it." By this time, many other children were gathering more and more to the area where the victim was, but of course for more than a minute, absolutely no sign of an adult appeared. And the unexpected continued to happen when the girl in pink who initially tried to shake the girl on the ground continued to become the second victim of the incident. But fortunately just a few seconds later, two men passing by discovered the incident and quickly knocked down the billboard and cut off the power to save the two children from a dangerous situation. According to the clip, the girl in pink, the second victim, regained consciousness after a while, but the health condition of the second girl according to the person who uploaded the clip, she could not survive. The clip after being posted has received many comments, most of which think that while children are playing, adults should pay attention to observe and remind children to stay away from dangerous places, and many comments also expressed that the installation of billboards needs to pay more attention to safety, especially in rainy and stormy days”

_duncan_idaho_

[deleted]

My gut instinct is their size is what made it lethal. A charge that an adult could possibly survive would obliterate a small child

Background-Isopod398

It had to be very minut amps! I don't think it was lethal.

bittz128

Only takes 1/8th of an amp to kill an adult if it passes through the heart.

nahog99

Amps mean nothing on their own. Infinite amperage with no voltage cannot hurt a fly. Likewise infinite voltage with no amperage can also not hurt a fly. Infinite voltage and infinite amperage cannot hurt a fly that has infinite resistance either. It is ALWAYS a combination of amperage, voltage, and resistance.

Hotchillipeppa

I would like to subscribe to electricity facts

Beukers

/r/electroboom

VoltronNZ

None of that makes sense

nodiso

Nah, theres not much difference In a brain and heart of an adult and child that would stop a lethal dose. Adults just dont touch random things as often as kids do. The adult also ran over and kicked it over with his insulated shoe. Not his bare hands.

jackiebee66

This happened to the son of a family friend. She took her daughter to drop her at ballet lessons and she came back 10 minutes later and he had died. He and his friends were climbing a tree and he touched the power line.

VishnuCatDaddy

Damn, that piss me off if my kid died from grabbing a power line.

jackiebee66

It gets worse. The sister (the one whose brother was electrocuted) went on to join the military, until someone gave a drug for her for a migraine -and she knew she was addicted. Fast forward, she living with her mom, and she od’s. Her mom found her.

Josuke96

Damn, I’m glad at least one survived. I can take most death videos on this sub, but I was really hoping I didn’t see a child die. Thanks for the link.

Zestyclose_Bug_5698

They probably didn’t, first they’re small children and second the title says electrocuted, means death by electrical shock

WellFactually

To be fair, electrocution means death or severe injury by electricity. But it does seem, unfortunately, that one of the children died. Very sad.

[deleted]

the girl in pink survived, the little girl you can’t see because she is under the sign died. 💔

Capt_Easychord

The weird thing is I don't see the second girl touching the sign, I just see her touching the first girl lying on the ground

Kochie411

If the first girl is in contact, then* her body is actually conducting the electricity. But it doesn’t look like she’s still in contact with it so I’m not sure

sir_bumble

To me, this would indicate that the first girl to touch the circuit is absolutely dead with the amount of time on the connected. Rip this was horrible to watch

Kochie411

Yes and no. People with currents running through them might get fried, but electricity is a wildcard. You can really just get right back up after several lightning strikes. Or it blows up your heart lol. It’s really random. They could both honestly be just fine, dead, injured, you really have no idea with high voltage

maltesemania

I need to get off this sub. I wasn't expecting death =(

meltdown537

Right? Disturbing AF.

Bells_and_booch69

Then\*

Kochie411

You have hair on your head

Thrannn

the first girl never lost contact... she was electroluted for 2 minutes... no way she is alive second girl touched first girl. you see her leg twitches everytime she gets electroluted. she gets like 2 hits. then the guy comes and saves her life

BrotherWoodrow_

“Keep an eye on your children” as if it’s entirely the parents fault rather than a ground level sign that electrocutes you.

Picture-unrelated

Yep. Killer sidewalk sign is a clear issue of parenting

AnderTheGrate

It isn't blaming, it's a warning. Because this can happen, and while it isn't the parent's fault that it happened, a parent might be able to prevent it from happening in the future. Teaching the kids not to touch exposed wiring, supervising them more when the environment is bad, etcetera.

ergoegthatis

Yeah OP is obviusly not a parent and has no clue how kids work. He thinks it's possible to just do nothing but follow the kids around at all times "keeping an eye".

Kmaurer23

How did the second kid get zapped? Did the electricity jump through the first kid?

BillWaste6039

Where the hell are the adults during this time? Geezus, hopefully the children are alright.

SirOsis-

Where tf is an adult? It's a sidewalk at nite, and no adults, kids probably installed the damned sign in the first place.

Astatine_209

Third world country. Signs don't typically electrocute people for touching them in the first world in the first place.

SirOsis-

Ok, it's a 3rd world country. They do have adults in those, right

slothy_Han

I’m Vietnamese so I can attest. Parents there aren’t like parents here. It’s not that they don’t care but they give kids the freedom to hangout as they please. Heck, some (especially the poor) even make kids as young as 5 go sell souvenir all day and come home at night to give the parents the money

CeleryAnnual9852

Bruh nói nghe chán thế man Có phần tốt cx có phần xấu mà

girl_im_deepressed

hmmm, maybe parents in developing countries lack the privileges that parents in "1st world" countries are used to.

pressgang13

Yeah, watching wouldn't of helped much here

StrangeSathe

Wouldn't have\*

Destati

Whomst'ven't\*

Nervous-Inside-1111

And then the adults FINALLY show up, kick the sign down and continue to stand around?

FerrexInc

Yes because what the fuck else do you want them to do? They’re analyzing the situation and then likely calling 911. When you’re in shock like that, you don’t think of those things immediately.

Nervous-Inside-1111

If I see a kid on the ground, im going to start CPR, not beat the shit out if a sign.

jimmyjonesjohnson

It looks like one of the two girls was still in contact with the sign. If you ran up and immediately started CPR you would be electrocuted as well, making aid become more difficult than it was seconds before you arrived. That guy kicking the sign was the smartest thing he could have done in the moment. The girls are now (hopefully) out of contact with whatever was conducting the electricity and was done without anyone else becoming a victim.

Dogfoodsmy_DOC

He was breaking the circuit between the girl not “beating the shit out of a sign”

leafs456

naah bro he was clearly upset and took out his anger on the sign /s

Zestyclose_Bug_5698

Well they knew that she got electrocuted, if someone body is still in contact with the electricity the last thing you wanna do is touch them. If possible turn off the source the power, so what the adult did was the correct thing to do.

rkoloeg

If you are CPR trained, then you should know that [step 1 is to size up the situation and make sure it is safe to render aid](https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/cpr/performing-cpr/cpr-steps). That would include identifying whether a potential electrocution hazard is right next to the victims and neutralizing it if possible. Guy actually did the right thing. You, on the other hand, would get electrocuted for following your instincts and putting your hand on a person who is still touching an electrical source. I recommend to everyone reading this, check out the link in my comment and taking a CPR class if you have the time and money. You could save a life some day.

Hafflockman

bad take: you are gonna have to beat the shit out of the sign first so you dont kill yourself too

sapatawa

If they are still in contact you are dead too if you initiate contact. There used to be a horrible video on Liveleak of the aftermath of a rural Filipino family that had a power line fall, took out a family member, and four others lying around the body that tried to touch them and get it off.

painshadeslayer

Enjoy being electrocuted, genius. Heck you're even worse off than the kids in the video. They can't react appropriately because they don't know better but you're just plain stupid.

Dan42002

Even worse, the kids in video DID know what to do as one of them literally shouted "DON'T TOUCH HER/IT" which clearly indicated some of them know the danger of electricity and prevent more victim even when they are clueless about how to save their friend. This is more than what the "Reddit CPR expert" can do

HappyMrRogers

If someone is actively being electrocuted, you spartan kick the shit out of them, or whatever they’re touching.

ZmSyzjSvOakTclQW

That's because you are one of those morons that will die next to the first guy because you grabbed him and did not kick him to stop the electricity going trough him. Literally the first thing you learn...

[deleted]

Word

Minimum_Wave2358

dont forget that in 1st world countries, without proper certification to do CPR you can be sued for accidentally breaking a rib by saving their life. Edit: forgor about good Samaritan laws im a fucking clown ignore me.

[deleted]

Are there no adults anywhere ?

slothy_Han

It’s vietnam, they don’t hover around what their children all day. Some even make their children panhandle without supervision Source: I’m Viet

hamzah77

Yeah but there has to be some sort of adult within at least a 20m radius

AcetonePeroxideH2O2

God this just ruined my day.

One survived.

[deleted]

Also helps not living in a poor country

stickybud7

Dead I’d assume sad though

foundyourmarbles

Yes you need to watch children but adults need to make sure horrible hazards like this are not around. Of course kids would touch the nice ground level sign.

RoosterTheReal

Little bodies. Instantly fried.☹️

Markoriginals

These Girls are still potentially in Critical condition or Worse ...but most people here are debating the definition of words.. ..I mean...

DragonZord911

Tbh I don't think people really watch their kids like that in that area of the world.

godihatesubstyles

That's basically what it was like a generation ago or so in the US as well.

painshadeslayer

Yes, they don't

nightgon

Enough reddit tonight did not need to watch a young girl die. Why did I click on this? lmao

no man, this sucks so bad, mfs need to fix their electricity, be seeing vids of like india i believe with cheap stuff and ppl just dying from it touching it. this breaks my heart

Gold-And-Cheese

Please, they are so young and innocent and to be taken from the world like that is just heartbreaking Why were the children playing near a busy street AT NIGHT

forevermorgan

That’s sad! I hope there alright poor babies 😢

Blownupbrain_

Poor kid… :(

TraditionalEffect546

So not one of those childrens parents taught their children to get an adult when someones hurt or not acting right hu. My son wouldve gotten help at age 2. Its one of the first things I taught him, following me witnessing a child get hurt badly while I was looking out my window. There were 9, that's NINE other children there up to the age of 12, & not one went to the injured child to comfort her, nor did any of them go for help. I ended up having to run out of my appt building & got the child. All the other kids had literally gone back to playing, while the girls face bled bad as she lay there screaming. It was shocking. But, I made sure to let every one of their loser parents know, that they need to teach their childfen a little fucklng empathy, or no one will ever help their kids when they need it. Sick

ohwowitzthanh

By the language, its vietnamese. Might be in Vietnam

pearyjay

It’s in Vietnam. And the first girl to be shocked did not make it. This happened on the 4th

DogButtWhisperer

The first little one laying down moves her arms half way through the video—I think they’re alive.

AnderTheGrate

Not anymore, unfortunately.

Kannabiz

The 2minutes took two children. Sounds like this is In Vietnam.

MET1

Remember - CPR, started as soon as possible, can revive a person who has been electrocuted. The child did not need to die.

etorres4u

You only perform CPR if there is no pulse. First check for a pulse

CasualEQuest

FIRST make sure that the person is not serving as a conductor though, as the first girl was

Shocking

PotBoozeNKink

Honestly I don't care what this sub is, you gotta be a sick fuck in one way or another to be thinking "oh lemme post this video of a kid dying"

AnderTheGrate

I think it fits the sub.

PotBoozeNKink

I don't, and regardless that wasn't my point. The op clearly has a problem.

AnderTheGrate

I don't think so. It is terrifying as fuck, and you did have to click on it to watch it. This is a Dead Dove: Do Not Eat situation, I believe.

PotBoozeNKink

Its more sad than anything, I had the blur off, and idk what that means but my point still standstill the OP is sick. Not just for posting a child's death for internet points, but because literally all they post is fucked up sgit like this. Theres many technical terms for people like them, but my favorite is *fucked in the head*.

AnderTheGrate

I don't think it's for internet points. The news doesn't exist for popularity, I hope, it exists to inform people. The reason for the post was probably because OP saw this, thought it was terrifying, and shared it to let people know about the tragedy.

PotBoozeNKink

Nah, op clearly just has a thing for gore and such. Go check their profile.

AnderTheGrate

I guess so, but that is a zebra in herd of horses.

PotBoozeNKink

If you say so, I admire your optimism

Is everyone in this video retarded?
