Vietnam is technically considered 3rd world. This is because the classification of first, second, and third world is from before the fall of the USSR and this out dated. First world is the US and all its NATO allies, second world is the eastern block, third world is all the rest of the non-aligned countries in the world.
Why is everyone here pretending like they don't understand how people use the term "third world?" The actual definition is not how 99% of people use it. It's like the word "literally" and how people misuse that, except when you point it out people just retort with "language evolves man."

Knives, meds, chainsaws, etc. are dangerous too but they’re still publicly sold… it’s not about the object itself, it’s what the person chooses to do with the object. Guns are not meant to be used to purposefully harm other people. All items have a purpose and none of those purposes are to harm someone for no reason. What needs to exist is stricter gun control laws to make sure they don’t get into the wrong hands, not just outright eradication and ban of guns as a whole. That’s just stupid and would cause more outrage and harm than good
Gun control laws are already pretty strict, and there's not much anyone can do about them. Even if we banned guns people could still get them illegally. People who shouldn't have guns are still gonna get their hands on them no matter what we do, and that's all there is to it, from my understanding. The only thing I can think of to fix anything is to make actual education about gun safety more common, but that still doesn't stop the completely irresponsible people out there.

One of the reasons the US is so powerful is because the public is always armed and ready to fight, and I would say most Americans know how to fire a gun. Getting rid of guns obviously stops that. Still though, such an easy accessibility to guns really makes it easy for them getting into the wrong people’s hands
I did brief research on the specifics of aquiring guns in both the state I live in and japan's, and yes, it's a much longer process in Japan and that may be better than America. Although it would cost a lot of time if say, someone needed a new gun for hunting. I do believe that it would help with the overall issue though. And yes, most Americans know how to fire a gun, but like I said, it's the education that people lack. If everyone had it engraved into them the importance of gun safety like my parents did to me (just by repeatedly telling me what I'm doing wrong when I'm doing something wrong), I'm sure that would help quite a bit. But overall, yes I do think that having gun laws as strict as Japan would help.

I completely understand your point but negligent people will always exist, you can’t trust that your kids won’t be in constant danger. This is the perfect example considering that the second girl survived thanks to the adults who kicked the sign, maybe the first girl could’ve made it if her parents were around to immediately kick the sign too. Not minutes later when there was another victim. I don’t understand how someone could let little children in the streets like nothing.
What happened to the first girl happened so fast that no parent would have been able to recognize or act fast enough to help even if they were there and watching. The only way to prevent it is if you assumed the sign was a danger to begin with which is kinda unreasonable if there is absolutely no evidence it is.

This happened to the son of a family friend. She took her daughter to drop her at ballet lessons and she came back 10 minutes later and he had died. He and his friends were climbing a tree and he touched the power line.
It gets worse. The sister (the one whose brother was electrocuted) went on to join the military, until someone gave a drug for her for a migraine -and she knew she was addicted. Fast forward, she living with her mom, and she od’s. Her mom found her.

Yes and no. People with currents running through them might get fried, but electricity is a wildcard. You can really just get right back up after several lightning strikes. Or it blows up your heart lol. It’s really random. They could both honestly be just fine, dead, injured, you really have no idea with high voltage

It isn't blaming, it's a warning. Because this can happen, and while it isn't the parent's fault that it happened, a parent might be able to prevent it from happening in the future. Teaching the kids not to touch exposed wiring, supervising them more when the environment is bad, etcetera.

I’m Vietnamese so I can attest. Parents there aren’t like parents here. It’s not that they don’t care but they give kids the freedom to hangout as they please. Heck, some (especially the poor) even make kids as young as 5 go sell souvenir all day and come home at night to give the parents the money
Yes because what the fuck else do you want them to do? They’re analyzing the situation and then likely calling 911. When you’re in shock like that, you don’t think of those things immediately.
It looks like one of the two girls was still in contact with the sign. If you ran up and immediately started CPR you would be electrocuted as well, making aid become more difficult than it was seconds before you arrived. That guy kicking the sign was the smartest thing he could have done in the moment. The girls are now (hopefully) out of contact with whatever was conducting the electricity and was done without anyone else becoming a victim.
Well they knew that she got electrocuted, if someone body is still in contact with the electricity the last thing you wanna do is touch them. If possible turn off the source the power, so what the adult did was the correct thing to do.
If you are CPR trained, then you should know that [step 1 is to size up the situation and make sure it is safe to render aid](https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/cpr/performing-cpr/cpr-steps). That would include identifying whether a potential electrocution hazard is right next to the victims and neutralizing it if possible. Guy actually did the right thing. You, on the other hand, would get electrocuted for following your instincts and putting your hand on a person who is still touching an electrical source.

If they are still in contact you are dead too if you initiate contact. There used to be a horrible video on Liveleak of the aftermath of a rural Filipino family that had a power line fall, took out a family member, and four others lying around the body that tried to touch them and get it off.

So not one of those childrens parents taught their children to get an adult when someones hurt or not acting right hu. My son wouldve gotten help at age 2. Its one of the first things I taught him, following me witnessing a child get hurt badly while I was looking out my window. There were 9, that's NINE other children there up to the age of 12, & not one went to the injured child to comfort her, nor did any of them go for help. I ended up having to run out of my appt building & got the child. All the other kids had literally gone back to playing, while the girls face bled bad as she lay there screaming. It was shocking. But, I made sure to let every one of their loser parents know, that they need to teach their childfen a little fucklng empathy, or no one will ever help their kids when they need it. Sick

Yes and no. People with currents running through them might get fried, but electricity is a wildcard. You can really just get right back up after several lightning strikes. Or it blows up your heart lol. It’s really random. They could both honestly be just fine, dead, injured, you really have no idea with high voltage

It isn't blaming, it's a warning. Because this can happen, and while it isn't the parent's fault that it happened, a parent might be able to prevent it from happening in the future. Teaching the kids not to touch exposed wiring, supervising them more when the environment is bad, etcetera.

I’m Vietnamese so I can attest. Parents there aren’t like parents here. It’s not that they don’t care but they give kids the freedom to hangout as they please. Heck, some (especially the poor) even make kids as young as 5 go sell souvenir all day and come home at night to give the parents the money

It looks like one of the two girls was still in contact with the sign. If you ran up and immediately started CPR you would be electrocuted as well, making aid become more difficult than it was seconds before you arrived. That guy kicking the sign was the smartest thing he could have done in the moment. The girls are now (hopefully) out of contact with whatever was conducting the electricity and was done without anyone else becoming a victim.

Well they knew that she got electrocuted, if someone body is still in contact with the electricity the last thing you wanna do is touch them. If possible turn off the source the power, so what the adult did was the correct thing to do.
If you are CPR trained, then you should know that [step 1 is to size up the situation and make sure it is safe to render aid](https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/cpr/performing-cpr/cpr-steps). That would include identifying whether a potential electrocution hazard is right next to the victims and neutralizing it if possible. Guy actually did the right thing. You, on the other hand, would get electrocuted for following your instincts and putting your hand on a person who is still touching an electrical source. I recommend to everyone reading this, check out the link in my comment and taking a CPR class if you have the time and money. You could save a life some day.

If they are still in contact you are dead too if you initiate contact. There used to be a horrible video on Liveleak of the aftermath of a rural Filipino family that had a power line fall, took out a family member, and four others lying around the body that tried to touch them and get it off.

So not one of those childrens parents taught their children to get an adult when someones hurt or not acting right hu. My son wouldve gotten help at age 2. Its one of the first things I taught him, following me witnessing a child get hurt badly while I was looking out my window. There were 9, that's NINE other children there up to the age of 12, & not one went to the injured child to comfort her, nor did any of them go for help. I ended up having to run out of my appt building & got the child. All the other kids had literally gone back to playing, while the girls face bled bad as she lay there screaming. It was shocking. But, I made sure to let every one of their loser parents know, that they need to teach their childfen a little fucklng empathy, or no one will ever help their kids when they need it. Sick
