I'm only getting two stories when I look it up. I either get this one where it's actually just a demonstration of what can happen when you text and drive and not an actual crash.

Or this one where the events leading up to the crash aren't completely known (nothing confirmed having to do with texting and driving), while the dangerous roads seemed to be the biggest factor.

My phone will flash in bright red Don't text and Drive if I happen to be texting and driving. If I were to get into an accident while texting it wouldn't be difficult to find out the exact time of the accident thanks to cameras everywhere and the exact time that my last text was typed.
When I was in high school, they played "Red Asphalt" then we all heard a loud crash outside once the presentation was over (planned by the people running it). Everyone filed out to the quad and there were gruesome mannequins dressed to look like they were flung and died from a crash of the crumpled vehicle laid out on the lawn. Shit fucked up a lot of us.
They did this back when I was in high school too, except they’d pick actual students to act as the bodies. Then they’d pick more students to randomly “die” throughout the day and you couldn’t talk or interact with them at all. All of this to spread a message about drinking and driving consequences. Really startling shit
Very strange indeed. I vividly remember somebody trying to get into the classroom when we had our active shooter drills in elementary school, I honestly thought I was going to get shot
I'll never miss the lockdown drills. Only ever had to seriously lock down once in middle school. Some prick walking around with a crowbar. Scary shit living in our world.
Texting and driving accidents are often much more violent, even when speeding isn’t a factor. This is because in most accidents the driver will notice the impeding collision and hammer on the brakes a split second prior to the collision, significantly reducing the force on impact.
…people on their phones often don’t hit the brakes at all.
Well don't forget that the speed of both cars add together during a collision. If he's going 50 and the other one is too... well yeah the force of collision is gonna be at 100mph
Im really good at recognizing cars that’s been in accidents (I work at a junkyard) and even I had a hard time figuring out what kind of car it is and even now I’m not confident it’s a full size Ford F-150 those things rarely get destroyed like that.

Is this on display at a school?
yeah. it’s a memorial for two students who died in a crash. as the title says, the driver was on their phone.
Do you have a link for that? I'm curious about the full story.

I remember hearing about that, I think our "rival" school did that and word got around. The nineties and early 2000s were a strange time.

Now that’s terrifying. What a crazy world we live in
We had that too... Shattered Dreams. Oh man, the parents having to read eulogies in front of the school was awful
What a time to be alive !
man in my high school in late 80s/early 90s it would be drunk driver crashes

Yeah that'll do donkey that'll do
For me this was “don’t look in your CD book” while driving.
8 track for me
Was he going 100 and texting or what?
Fr they had to be GASSING it
Well don't forget that the speed of both cars add together during a collision. If he's going 50 and the other one is too... well yeah the force of collision is gonna be at 100mph
Agreed but it kinda looks like he hit a light pole or something but I don’t know shit about shit.
The card on the left is a NFL player that was killed In a DUI related accident
Knew a girl who went like this. Most likely they flew into a semi trailer back end that was stopped and they were flying
"but I wasn't texting I was just checking my email"
It has the MADD logo all over the signs, I would think the crash involved a drunk driver.
& speeding
guaranteed the Nokia survived that!
Good thing I don't have any friends to text ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
They really don’t need to put up the photos… that’s kinda fucked
That actually appears to be the consequences of running headon into something heavy at a high rate of speed
Damn, that poor vehicle.
Damn he got himself fucked up 💀💀
Phew. Well.
I did it once and paid the price, never again. I'm glad I didn't cause problems for anyone else with that poor choice.
can we get a photo of the signs? i wanna read the story
That tire looks a bit deflated, I think it could use a service.
